PE Ch3: Love Contract
Assistant Zhang left, and Pan Yinchuan sat stiffly in the bedroom where he had woken up for a long time, until seven o’clock.
Mr. Huai came back.
The door opened, and the man’s upright figure stood there, still holding a cane. A sense of oppression rushed towards him, but it was quickly alleviated.
This was the effect brought by the buffer.
“Why are you here?” Mr. Huai spoke.
Pan Yinchuan immediately stood up: “I, I shouldn’t stay here, right? Then I’ll leave now.”
“…Here is fine,” Mr. Huai said.
Pan Yinchuan was immediately at a loss, not knowing whether to sit or stand…
And Mr. Huai had already walked up to him and said two words: “Not bad.” It was like he was praising him.
Pan Yinchuan didn’t know what was good about himself.
The next moment, the man directly pressed him onto the bed.
Pan Yinchuan had no time to react before he was enveloped by the strong scent of a powerful male Alpha. It no longer suffocated him, but… his legs went soft, so soft that he didn’t even have the strength to push the man away.
“Just took a shower?” Mr. Huai asked softly by his ear.
Pan Yinchuan felt that something was wrong with this sentence.
Mr. Huai leisurely bent a finger and gently pinched his earlobe. This person appeared strong and cold, but his movements were somewhat gentle and ambiguous.
The pads of his fingers, slightly calloused from handling guns, brushed over, and Pan Yinchuan couldn’t help but tremble lightly.
Mr. Huai seemed very satisfied with his reaction, so he slowly unbuttoned his shirt. This man’s status was so high that doing such a thing seemed a bit condescending.
But at this moment, it wasn’t a matter of being flattered or frightened…
Pan Yinchuan’s shirt was stripped off, his skin exposed to the air, causing a slight chill around him. He shivered more obviously.
His mind felt like a steamroller had crashed in, rumbling and smashing all his chaotic guesses, the values he had built from childhood to adulthood, into pieces.
He, he…
Pan Yinchuan didn’t have the chance to think carefully.
He understood what Assistant Zhang meant by “you’ll die without wearing it.”
The overwhelming Alpha pheromones invaded his body, causing a massive upheaval in his internal organs.
This intense, almost brutal affair lasted until daylight.
Pan Yinchuan was nearly exhausted, barely able to grip the edge of the bed, as if only by doing so could he avoid being dragged into an abyss by the waves.
He couldn’t remember what happened next.
He passed out.
Completely passed out.
There was a light “click,” the sound of porcelain clinking. Pan Yinchuan woke up with a start, sitting up abruptly, facing a servant’s panicked face.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry for disturbing your sleep.” The servant retracted his hands. In front of him was a pot of tea, and beside it, plates of small snacks.
The servant stammered on, “I thought you might be hungry, so…”
Pan Yinchuan, who had a good temper, instinctively said, “It’s fine.”
But as the words came out, he realized his voice was hoarse and broken.
Pan Yinchuan was startled, but the servant showed no reaction, only softly asking, “Should I prepare a bath for you?”
Pan Yinchuan’s mind was still a bit chaotic, so he nodded casually and turned to get off the bed.
However, he stumbled and nearly fell.
He froze for a moment, thinking that Mr. Huai was a bit too aggressive.
“Do you need help, sir?” the servant asked but didn’t move.
Pan Yinchuan looked up at him, vaguely catching a hint in the servant’s eyes — the servant seemed to already consider him as Mr. Huai’s “property,” so he didn’t dare to touch him lightly.
But this… was too ridiculous!
Pan Yinchuan shook his head and forced out a voice, “No need.” Then, striving to maintain his dignity, he walked into the bathroom, expertly turning on the shower.
After that, he drank water, took a bath, groomed himself, dressed, and sat down in front of the small table to eat the fragrant and delicious snacks.
Only after doing all this did Pan Yinchuan feel like he had come back to life.
“Where is Mr. Huai?” he asked.
“Mr. Huai has left.” The servant answered briefly, not intending to tell Pan Yinchuan much more.
Pan Yinchuan’s heart was filled with shame and anger, but what good would it do to vent these feelings to a servant? He could only swallow his fury.
Since childhood, he had never even held hands with someone, let alone dated.
He never expected his first experience to be so intense, even… forced.
He skipped the whole dating part entirely.
And he was the one on the receiving end!
Pan Yinchuan had been a Beta since birth, and remained one after his differentiation. In this ABO society with its clear hierarchies, he knew he would never find an Omega for a spouse, and certainly no Alpha would fancy him.
In his ideal romantic fantasies, his partner was always a female Beta…
Now, everything was shattered.
Completely shattered.
Why him?
Oh, right, Assistant Zhang had told him. Because he was healthy… just because of that?
Or should he ask why a Beta was chosen? For someone like Mr. Huai, getting an Omega, or even an Alpha to clean up and lie in his bed wasn’t difficult. The aggressive pheromones of other Alphas were insignificant compared to Mr. Huai’s.
He couldn’t understand!
Pan Yinchuan clenched his teeth tightly.
But soon he remembered that last night, when he couldn’t stand it, he also instinctively clenched his jaw… Pan Yinchuan shivered and immediately relaxed his jaw.
“Assistant Zhang is here.” The servant’s voice came from outside the door.
Pan Yinchuan, in a rush, immediately tried to get up, but soon the pain in his waist, legs, and backside surged up, and he sat back down resolutely.
When Assistant Zhang came in, he saw Pan Yinchuan sitting upright, looking grim.
“Didn’t they give you medicine?” Assistant Zhang asked in surprise.
“Medicine?” Pan Yinchuan, thrown off, forgot his initial intention to question him.
“Yes.” Assistant Zhang’s gaze dropped, discreetly scanning Pan Yinchuan’s lower body. “You’ll feel uncomfortable without it.”
Pan Yinchuan, sensitive about his pride, lowered his head, not letting Assistant Zhang see his embarrassment. He quietly clenched his fists.
“You… you forcibly…” Pan Yinchuan couldn’t bring himself to say the last words.
Assistant Zhang didn’t expect him to say that. He shrugged and said, “Really? Didn’t we save you? I thought you understood once you got in the car, especially since you came from Xiu Ling.”
“So what if I came from Xiu Ling?” Pan Yinchuan asked coldly.
Assistant Zhang touched his nose. “The secrets of the Xiu family aren’t for me to tell.”
He sat down opposite Pan Yinchuan and said, “Not long after we took you away, that courtyard was bombed. You should be grateful Mr. Huai took an interest in you.”
Pan Yinchuan’s throat was choked. He suddenly remembered the young Omega and asked, “What about Nanta City?”
Assistant Zhang was surprised again. “Didn’t expect you to care… Well, the situation in Nanta City is bad. It’s on the verge of collapse.”
“Isn’t anyone going to help?”
“The power struggles in Central City have caused debates about who should quell the rebellion for three days now… Anyway, this isn’t your concern. Just know that if you hadn’t come with us, you’d be dead, and it wouldn’t have been a good death.” Assistant Zhang handed him a document. “Focus on yourself.”
“What’s this?” Pan Yinchuan didn’t take it.
“A contract, a favorable one.” Assistant Zhang shrugged. “Take a look, the terms are very generous. Really, very generous.”
Pan Yinchuan opened it with a blank expression.
He thought he would see something like a “sponsorship contract.”
But unexpectedly, the first page had four large characters: “Love Contract.”
…it even exuded a bit of innocence.
This was absurd!
Pan Yinchuan closed it with a snap.
“Aren’t you going to take a closer look?”
“No, I want to leave here. If I have the chance in the future, I will repay Mr. Huai for saving my life.”
Assistant Zhang snickered softly, “Repay? Repay what? Let me tell you this. You can leave… but by then, it will be too late to regret it. Nanta City isn’t the only place with a war going on, kid.”
“What?” Pan Yinchuan’s face changed dramatically.
He had been detained in Nanta City for so long that he had no idea about the changes outside.
What about his parents?
“Are you wondering about Jiuhu City? Well, armed forces are trying to take over there,” Assistant Zhang saw through his thoughts at a glance.
At that moment, Pan Yinchuan’s face could almost be described as ashen.
“Take another look?” Assistant Zhang raised an eyebrow.
Pan Yinchuan stiffly reopened the contract.
The title was innocent, but the content was not at all innocent.
The contract was tentatively set for one year, with Party A paying Party B 600,000 yuan per month as “employment” salary. In addition, all his living expenses would be covered by Party A. During the “relationship,” the “salary” could increase, and any gifts given would not be taken back.
After the one-year term, if not renewed, a house and a car in Central City would be given as a “breakup” gift.
Pan Yinchuan’s breath hitched, feeling as if countless cotton balls were blocking his airway.
If this were a genuine employment contract, it would be extraordinarily generous. No graduate could hope to receive such a high salary, not to mention the comprehensive severance package.
But it wasn’t an employment contract.
Pan Yinchuan looked at the word “relationship,” finding it increasingly awkward and jarring.
“What? You find it unsuitable?” Assistant Zhang interjected.
Assistant Zhang had sharp eyes, able to assess Pan Yinchuan’s background and family situation at a glance.
He thought this contract should be overly generous for Pan Yinchuan… for someone else, even for a kept lover, it wouldn’t be so extravagant.
Pan Yinchuan set down the contract and looked up, saying, “…My parents are in Jiuhu City.”
Assistant Zhang, understanding the implication, smiled and said, “Actually, as long as you sign this contract, you can properly express your concerns and make requests to Mr. Huai.”
The blockage in Pan Yinchuan’s chest suddenly dissipated.
Is that… really possible?
Assistant Zhang leaned back in his chair. He didn’t seem like an assistant, more like a carefree scion of a wealthy family. He said, “As long as you don’t cross the line and do your part, anything is possible.”
So the question is… “What does ‘crossing the line’ mean?”
“Don’t ask about Mr. Huai’s affairs, stay clean, and oh, don’t act coy.”
Don’t act coy???
Is that really worth mentioning separately?
Pan Yinchuan never thought his s*xual orientation would change; he wasn’t gay, he was straight.
He had considered, for the safety of his parents, enduring the discomfort and acting coy to Mr. Huai, trying to learn to be a kept lover… but now Assistant Zhang had shut down that idea.
How could he make his plea to Mr. Huai?
This was entirely outside his experience.
“What is Mr. Huai’s temperament like?” Pan Yinchuan asked, swallowing his shame.
“Very good, you’re already thinking about your employer.” Assistant Zhang thought for a moment, “Mr. Huai is clear-cut in his public and private life. Once he makes a decision, he won’t easily change it. He doesn’t like people saying foolish or unnecessary things.”
Pan Yinchuan: “…”
Then how could he make his request?
In fact, last night, Mr. Huai clearly had no intention of talking much, getting straight to the point, very straightforward and rough.
His shirt buttons had flown off, while Mr. Huai was still neatly dressed, having only unzipped…
Assistant Zhang seemed to read Pan Yinchuan’s thoughts and added, “Do I have to teach you? Choose the right moment if you want to make your request.”
Choose the right moment?
Pan Yinchuan looked puzzled.
Assistant Zhang sighed inwardly, but then thought maybe this type was exactly what Mr. Huai liked.
Assistant Zhang pushed the contract towards him, “If there’s no problem, sign it. Don’t write the wrong account number.”
Pan Yinchuan picked up the pen, initially thinking of writing a fake name, but realized it wouldn’t match the account number. He hesitated for a long time, almost breaking the pen, before finally signing his name.
“Alright… Mr. Pan,” Assistant Zhang picked up the signed contract, “I’ll be going now.”
After Assistant Zhang left, someone brought medicine for Pan Yinchuan. He endured the embarrassment and applied it himself. He didn’t know how much it cost, but it worked well.
He leaned against the sofa, sweating but much more comfortable.
When he looked up again, it was already time for dinner.
Pan Yinchuan thought blankly, not knowing how late it went last night for him to sleep through almost the entire day.
At seven in the evening, Pan Yinchuan had dinner, took a bath, and right on time, Mr. Huai returned.
That evening, the servant called him to another bedroom.
This bedroom was larger, decorated in black and white, simple yet understated, but exuding a sense of high value.
“This is Mr. Huai’s room. Just wait here,” the servant said, then closed the door.
At seven-thirty, Mr. Huai entered the bedroom.
Today, he wore formal attire, matched with jade bone and white silk gloves. The outfit was almost excessively luxurious. But on him, it was subdued by his presence, appearing neither ostentatious nor exaggerated, only exuding elegance and authority.
Mr. Huai walked up to him, and his tall figure immediately cast a shadow over Pan Yinchuan.
Being targeted by such an Alpha should be uncomfortable.
But Pan Yinchuan didn’t feel uncomfortable. Instead, he faintly sensed a hint of desire beneath Mr. Huai’s impeccably dressed exterior.
Had he… been drinking?
Pan Yinchuan had a sudden flash of insight, understanding what Assistant Zhang had left unsaid today.
Choose the right moment.
When is a man most agreeable?
Isn’t it right now?
Pan Yinchuan opened his mouth. Despite being the one who was overpowered, he now had to humble himself: “Mr. Huai, my parents are in Jiuhu City. I’m very worried about their safety. I know you have immense power. I want to ask Mr. Huai to…”
Pan Yinchuan didn’t finish his sentence.
Mr. Huai’s hand, which had been reaching towards his neck, suddenly stopped.
Then, quickly pulling back, Mr. Huai adjusted his gloves and said, “Wait.” Then he turned and walked out.
Pan Yinchuan stood there, wiping his face, feeling a bit overwhelmed with sorrow.
…Did he just mess it up?
