FIMA Ch22: College Entrance Examination
Gu Siyuan moved his little boyfriend, who was finally shy and stiff, to his own seat.
Xie Qingxiao immediately grasped the necklace in one hand, used the other as a pillow, and lay on the desk, swearing not to get up until class started.
Gu Siyuan glanced at the breakfast on the table that was about to lose its warmth and frowned.
Then, he raised his hand and patted Xie Qingxiao.
“Ah… open your mouth.”
Xie Qingxiao slowly turned his still-flushed face and mouthed silently, “What?”
The next moment, a steamed dumpling was stuffed into his mouth.
Only then did Xie Qingxiao feel the emptiness in his stomach, and with his cheeks puffed up like a little squirrel, he slowly began to chew.
Gu Siyuan picked up another dumpling and put it into his own mouth.
His little boyfriend was so troublesome that they had been in the classroom for a while before they could start eating breakfast.
Watching the chopsticks go into Gu Siyuan’s mouth again, Xie Qingxiao’s face turned even redder.
They finished breakfast, taking turns feeding each other, and Xie Qingxiao’s shyness temporarily subsided.
Xie Qingxiao took a deep look at his boyfriend, realizing that his mental fortitude was not something he could compare to. How could he be so calm, treating others as if they didn’t exist?
The other students in the classroom were first shocked, then numb.
When someone is this open and honest, what can you say?
Some Omegas, however, were still a bit heartbroken. Before the holiday, they had been captivated by Gu Xueshen’s charm and singing. Who knew that after a three-day break, Xueshen was already taken?
So, naturally, some people would gossip, thinking Xie Qingxiao was scheming and manipulative, getting together with Gu Siyuan shortly after breaking up with Shen Ting.
However, this remained private chatter.
After all, they were still a group of students, and their class, Senior Class One, was the best at Beichuan High School. Apart from a few individuals, most students were still focused on their studies, and gossiping about others was as far as it went.
There was no chance of targeted bullying or humiliation. Besides, Xie Qingxiao, being a deep thinker, was clearly not someone who would be bullied.
Reflecting on his previous life, Xie Qingxiao’s downfall was mainly due to the intervention of the Shen and Lu families’ elders. The Shen family was a board member of Beichuan Private High School and a well-known wealthy family in the city, while the Lu family, though financially average, was considered a scholarly family with some influence in the city’s education system.
At that time, Shen Ting not only pressured the Shen and Lu families within the school but also pressured Xie Qingxiao’s father’s company externally.
Adults, to avoid future trouble, often resort to drastic and ruthless measures.
The next holiday after New Year’s Day was Chinese New Year’s Eve.
But before that, they first faced the end-of-term joint exams. These exams were prepared by the ten best high schools in the northern part of their province, and in fact, at least a hundred high schools used this exam paper, including Beichuan High School.
In the end, all students’ scores would inevitably be compared together.
Therefore, in the last month of this semester, the atmosphere in each class of Beichuan High School’s senior year became more tense than usual.
Xie Qingxiao also slightly reduced the time he spent being affectionate with his boyfriend, focusing more on studying and solving practice problems.
However, some people seemed completely unaffected by this atmosphere, still immersed in their own world.
After class one day, Xie Qingxiao shivered from the cold wind as he went downstairs and realized he had forgotten to wear his scarf. He turned back to get it, telling Gu Siyuan to wait at the stairway.
Just as he reached the corner by the back door of the classroom, he heard two voices arguing inside.
“Shen Ting, can you stop treating me like a weak Omega?” Lu Jiayang said angrily.
Shen Ting replied, “You are an Omega now.”
But this comment hit Lu Jiayang’s sore spot. He glared at Shen Ting coldly before turning and running out.
Xie Qingxiao felt extremely awkward, not knowing whether to leave or go in.
The next moment, he bumped right into Lu Jiayang opening the door.
Great, no need to think about anything now.
“Why aren’t you going in?” Gu Siyuan’s steady voice came from behind.
“Oh, right away.” Xie Qingxiao decided to play dumb and said to the stunned Lu Jiayang, “Excuse me.”
Lu Jiayang numbly stepped aside.
Xie Qingxiao brushed past him, grabbed his scarf from his seat, and started putting it on as he walked out of the classroom.
Gu Siyuan happened to come over, and he nonchalantly helped him adjust it, saying, “Let’s go!”
Xie Qingxiao nodded sweetly and hugged his boyfriend’s arm.
Shen Ting stood at the door, watching their intimate figures with a heavy gaze.
Lu Jiayang sneered at him, “If you can’t let go, why not try to win him back?”
Shen Ting snapped back to reality, his face changing dramatically upon hearing this, “What are you talking about? Don’t you know why I…”
Lu Jiayang coldly interrupted, “Don’t say it was for me.”
Shen Ting rubbed his hair, helplessly saying, “You… what are you thinking? Isn’t it a good thing that you became an Omega? We can be together openly now. Why are you so unhappy all the time?”
Lu Jiayang sneered again, saying nothing more.
This wasn’t the first time he and Shen Ting had argued over this.
Every time he thought of Shen Ting’s ecstatic expression upon learning he had re-differentiated into an Omega, he felt a surge of fear and helplessness.
So, to Shen Ting, his being an Omega was very important, right?
If he hadn’t re-differentiated, he and Shen Ting might not have made it.
More importantly, after becoming an Omega, Shen Ting’s attitude towards him changed.
He no longer let him play basketball with them, go clubbing, get into fights, or do those dangerous things. The way he looked at him and his controlling possessiveness were very uncomfortable.
Especially after one argument, Shen Ting blurted out, “Why can’t you be an Omega like Xie Qingxiao?”
This completely broke Lu Jiayang.
The two of them didn’t bother lowering their voices during the argument.
Gu Siyuan and Xie Qingxiao, who had already reached downstairs, could still vaguely hear them.
Gu Siyuan remained expressionless.
Xie Qingxiao frowned, puzzled, and said, “I thought that after Lu Jiayang’s second differentiation into an Omega, their relationship would be perfectly resolved without involving anyone else. But…”
But now it seemed even more complicated and tangled than before.
Previously, due to their personalities, those two often quarreled and argued, but no matter what, Xie Qingxiao had realized that there was love in their eyes for each other, especially Shen Ting’s almost limitless indulgence towards Lu Jiayang.
But now, he saw fatigue on both of their faces.
Gu Siyuan didn’t respond.
However, he thought, probably in the previous life, it was because Xie Qingxiao was around as a tool, testing their relationship. They struggled and finally achieved a hard-won happiness. The harder it is to obtain, the more it’s cherished.
In this life, Xie Qingxiao let go first, no longer hating out of love or causing trouble. Given Shen Ting and Lu Jiayang’s awkward personalities, they were typical troublemakers, likely to ruin their own relationship.
Otherwise, after knowing each other for so many years, they wouldn’t have spent all that time in constant conflict, eventually needing various scapegoats to confirm their feelings.
At this moment, a crisp clapping sound rang out.
“Well, they deserve it. The more they mess with each other, the better!” Xie Qingxiao pouted.
Gu Siyuan glanced at him and slowly said, “Didn’t you say… you no longer care about Shen Ting?”
“Hmph!” Xie Qingxiao sneered, “Not caring about him and wanting him dead, is there a conflict? Such an idiot deserves retribution!”
So fierce…
The always calm and composed Gu Dalao was shocked by his little boyfriend’s aura and quickly nodded in agreement: “No conflict, very reasonable. Repaying evil with kindness, how can you repay kindness?”
Xie Qingxiao nodded firmly: “Right.”
Time flew by in their senior year.
No matter how anxious everyone was, the end-of-term joint exams still arrived as scheduled.
And even after the exams, the senior students didn’t get a break. They had to stay in school for extra classes until the 23rd day of the twelfth lunar month.
Thus, when the results were announced, they found out immediately in class.
As expected, Gu Siyuan remained at the top.
Among nearly a hundred schools using the same exam paper, he had the highest score.
Xie Qingxiao’s results were also good, ranking around the top hundred in the province, third in Beichuan High School. At this rate, he would have no problem getting into his desired university.
The surprising part was that Lu Jiayang, who usually had similar grades to Xie Qingxiao, had a significant drop this time, prompting the teachers and school to talk to him.
As for Shen Ting, he ranked near the bottom. However, his grades had always been average, and since his family was wealthy, everyone assumed he would probably study abroad, so there wasn’t much attention on him.
During the New Year’s Eve break, Gu Siyuan didn’t stay at school but followed his usual practice of returning home to pay respects to his parents.
However, on New Year’s Eve, he and Xie Qingxiao still kept in touch, celebrating together over the phone, maintaining the rituals of their relationship.
After returning to school in the new year, time passed even more quickly.
From the hundred-day countdown to the college entrance exam, to the fifty-day countdown, then suddenly to the last day.
The college entrance exams officially began.
On the last afternoon of the exams, Gu Siyuan prepared to leave the company early.
Jiang Hefeng saw him leaving and smiled, “Is today the day your little Omega boyfriend finishes his college entrance exams?”
Gu Siyuan nodded.
According to the original plan, he had intended to take the college entrance exam too, but the company was growing rapidly, and he spent less and less time at school during the second half of his senior year, mostly working, so the exam was no longer relevant. After all, he had already been guaranteed admission.
“You’re really living the dream, not even twenty and you’ve got both career and love!” Jiang Hefeng couldn’t help but feel jealous.
For once, a faint smile appeared on Gu Siyuan’s normally calm and indifferent face, as if something more had been added compared to his past life.
After smiling, he looked at the person in front of him: “So, for the next while, the company is in your hands.”
Jiang Hefeng’s face changed dramatically: “What do you mean, are you planning to skip work again?”
Gu Siyuan replied calmly: “My boyfriend just finished an important milestone in his life. As a winner in life, shouldn’t I celebrate with him for a few days?”
Jiang Hefeng seemed to realize something, squeezing out a lascivious smile: “Heh, you must be young and full of energy, having held back for a long time, right?”
