FIMA Ch15: School Anniversary

The north wind whistled, and New Year’s Day was approaching next week.

And the day before New Year’s Day happened to be the anniversary celebration of Beichuan High School.

Beichuan High School had only been established for twenty years, so it couldn’t be said to have a deep foundation. However, because of this, the school paid special attention to activities that could enhance its foundation and foster student relationships.

Combining the two celebrations meant that even the seniors could enjoy a rare three-day holiday with days off before and after.

However, before that, there was a problem that needed to be solved.

On Monday morning, the class committee members rarely attended a meeting of the student union. It seemed that the student union in their high school only truly existed at times like this each year.

At this moment, the literary committee member, Zhou Jie, stood on the platform and knocked on the table to attract everyone’s attention. “Next Friday is the twentieth anniversary of our school…”

“Ah… that’s great, does that mean we don’t have to attend class on Friday?”

“According to tradition, that’s correct.”

“That’s great, I’m going to buy more snacks to eat that day.”

“We don’t have to wear uniforms that day, right…”

Zhou Jie hadn’t finished speaking yet, and there was already a lively discussion below.

Zhou Jie had expected this result long ago.

Sharp glances swept across the cute faces below, but wherever they went, it seemed to bring a heavy burden, and everyone’s heads drooped.

It seemed that everyone had the same mentality: they were very active when it came to having fun, but when it was their turn, they were very reluctant.

Zhou Jie sighed, “We can’t escape from this, we must have it. Let’s think about what to perform at that time.”

“Sigh…”

Sighs echoed, even more than during the math test before the two classes.

“What did we perform last year?” someone asked.

Someone immediately understood, “Why not let the performers from last year go again? I think our performance last year was great, fantastic even.”

The intention behind this suggestion was obvious.

“We were sophomores last year, now we’re seniors, and there’s no time for rehearsals with all the studying we have to do,” someone immediately responded, surprisingly one of last year’s performers.

“Yeah, I still have to write essays…”

“You’re right, who doesn’t? We only have a few months left until the college entrance exam, who has the time and energy to perform?”

Everyone spoke confidently and seriously, babbling nonsense.

It was as if, on regular days, they were all secretly reading novels and sleeping, but suddenly, they became model students who loved studying earnestly in the new era.

“Can’t we really avoid this? Doesn’t the school want us to shine for them during the college entrance exams? Performing will take up too much time. Let the freshmen and sophomores handle it!”

“Yeah, we seniors have so much pressure!”

Zhou Jie listened blankly to everyone’s nonsense, knowing that avoiding it was definitely impossible, or else she would have avoided it long ago.

However, when it came to talking about study pressure, someone suddenly had a flash of inspiration.

“Come to think of it, we do have someone in our class who has no study pressure at all!”

“Huh… really?”

And so, Gu Siyuan, who was still maneuvering in the business world yesterday and was happily reading “Old Master Q” just a moment ago, was suddenly struck with an unexpected burden.

The literature committee member looked at him as if he were a savior.

His dear desk mate, Xie Qingxiao, showed no camaraderie and laughed gleefully with his hand over his mouth.

Gu Siyuan shot him a cold glance, then turned to the literature committee member on the podium and said lazily, “Can I sing? I can sing a bit.”

The literature committee member, relieved that the issue was resolved, agreed immediately, “Sure, of course, you can.”

The classroom erupted in applause, celebrating their narrow escape.

Xie Qingxiao looked curiously at his desk mate and whispered, “You can actually sing?”

Gu Siyuan gave him a cold look and said sharply, “You were laughing quite happily just now, huh?”

Xie Qingxiao pretended not to know, his eyes darting around, “Ah, what are you talking about? Was I laughing? You must be mistaken.”

Huo Yi, who habitually visited Xie Qingxiao during breaks, heard their conversation and joined in enthusiastically, “As expected of the study god, truly versatile. Not only can he play basketball, but he can also sing. No doubt he’s the number one male god at Beichuan High School…”

“Crafty as a fox, haha…” Xie Qingxiao laughed out loud, “That phrase really suits you.”

“What are you talking about? Looking for a beating?”

Gu Siyuan, who had been lazily reclining in his chair, reached out with his naturally long arms and legs and used the “Old Master Q” comic to knock Xie Qingxiao on the head despite the distance between them.

“Oh…”

Xie Qingxiao clutched his head but, true to his reputation for deep thought, immediately nodded sensibly and said seriously, “Alright, ‘crafty as a fox’ is wrong. ‘Number one male god at Beichuan’ is correct.”

After saying this, before Gu Siyuan could react, he started laughing happily again.

Gu Siyuan shook his head helplessly.

This guy had completely let loose, nothing like the so-called “untouchable flower” from the rumors.

Senior year flew by quickly.

Yuanxing Technology finally decided on their partners and signed follow-up cooperation agreements with several major companies.

Although the initial negotiations were complicated and lengthy, once finalized, with sufficient funds injected and a large number of professionals joining, Yuanxing, a small boat, instantly expanded into a giant ship, starting to operate at high speed.

In just over half a month, their developed app had spread to almost all the universities nationwide, and the next step was to expand to a broader range of white-collar workers and beyond.

At this time, the last day of the solar year arrived amidst light snowfall.

From early morning, the entire school was enveloped in a unique enthusiasm and bustle.

In the afternoon, Gu Siyuan, dressed in his usual school uniform suit, arrived at the auditorium on time and immediately drew the attention of everyone backstage. He stood out starkly among the gaudy and flamboyant outfits and red monkey buttocks.

Their class president and the literature committee member had been waiting early. Seeing him, they immediately approached and asked, “Study god, are you going to wear your school uniform on stage?”

Gu Siyuan nodded, “Yes, it matches the song.”

“You’re singing a school song?” The literature committee member immediately caught on.

Gu Siyuan: “More or less.”

The class president, staring at him like a worried mother, said, “Study god, don’t get nervous when you go on stage later. Everyone in our class will be supporting you.”

Leaning against the wall, tuning his phone, Gu Siyuan replied, “I’m not nervous.”

The class president nodded, “Not being nervous is good. Just perform as you normally do.”

Gu Siyuan, always the symbol of their class, made the class president feel it was almost blasphemous to have him perform. He also feared that a performance failure might leave a psychological scar on him.

Gu Siyuan glanced at him and said, “I don’t have a ‘normal.’ I’ve never performed on stage before.”

The class president’s eyes widened, feeling his heart about to jump out of his chest.

Gu Siyuan continued, “But I’ve competed and given presentations at the Great Hall of the People.”

The class president and the literature committee member took a deep breath, instantly feeling reassured. Although they hadn’t seen Gu Siyuan rehearse since last Monday, they inexplicably felt confident.

Gu the study god was simply not in the same league as them, so there was no need to worry excessively.

The two calmed down, no longer hovering around Gu Siyuan, and started attending to their own tasks.

Everyone at Beichuan High School knew Gu Siyuan’s name, but not many had actually seen him.

After all, Gu Siyuan rarely participated in any school activities, sticking to the classroom, dormitory, and cafeteria routine. Without deliberate effort, it was indeed difficult to encounter him among the thousands of students.

At this moment, Gu Siyuan, in his freshly ironed black school uniform suit, stood tall with legs estimated to be nearly 1.2 meters long. His usually casually styled black hair was today slicked back with hair wax, revealing his strikingly handsome and sharp features, leaving a lasting impression.

He held a cup of hot water in one hand, sipping slowly, and gently sang along with his phone in the other hand. Standing there, he seemed to create a world of his own, making the air around him feel calm and clear.

“So tall! So handsome!”

“Is Gu the study god really this handsome?”

“Not only is his face handsome, but his demeanor is also superb. Just wearing the school uniform, he makes everyone else look inferior!”

“Ah… I’m going to ask the study god for his WeChat later.”

“Me too. Such an exceptional Alpha! Anyone who lets him go would surely be struck by lightning!”

A group of Omegas and Betas, their stage makeup done, gathered not far away, enthusiastically discussing.

To avoid disturbing Gu Siyuan, they kept their voices down.

But since they were sitting near the door, Xie Qingxiao, who had sneaked backstage to check on Gu Siyuan’s condition, heard every word clearly.
