UCTOOT CH148.1

◎ The S*x Robot ◎

Star Calendar Year 168.

Inside the room, a few rays of sunlight projected through the floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a panoramic view of the high-rise buildings and cyber landscapes outside. Airships shuttled through the sky, leaving trails of light in the airflow.

In the open and bright room, characters jumped across a holographic light screen.

“Emergency News Broadcast!”

“Regarding the ‘AI Adam’ accident that captured global attention half a month ago, according to the latest report from Star Station, the accident has been fully brought under control, avoiding the possibility of the AI initiating an information war against humanity…”

Nestled in a warm white sofa, Shi Shu, with his handsome and youthful figure, lay back while holding a glass of plain water. Just as he was about to turn off the light screen, the audio continued—

“Military notification: Multiple information storage base stations, including Alpha and Beta, have been destroyed. The retrieval of ‘Adam’s’ residual information is underway. The event of ‘AI defecting from humanity,’ which caused monstrous public outcry, has finally come to a close…”

“Society is crumbling; heaven and earth are overturned.”

Shi Shu finished the last sip of warm water just as the light screen beeped, displaying logistics delivery information—”Respectful user, hello. We are about to deliver your item. Please keep your communication lines open—”

“The delivery is here?”

As Shi Shu filtered the logistics update from a pile of pop-up ads like “Muscle Building and Fat Loss Magic,” “Sign Up for the Cyber Mental Hospital!”, “Male Pregnancy May Have Polluted the Human Gene Pool,” and “Scientific Aging to Live to 300,” he saw a call coming in from Du Zihan.

Du Zihan: “How many days are you off? You ran off without even saying hello.”

Shi Shu: “I bought a housekeeping robot. They said it’s a large item and requires a personal signature. You don’t know, my mom came by a few days ago and said I was living with absolutely no lifestyle standards.”

Du Zihan: “You bought a robot too? Everywhere now people are saying AI has self-awareness and the conflict with humans is huge.”

Shi Shu: “I should be fine, right? I bought the most basic, ordinary model. Just a humanoid shape that sweeps, cooks, and does laundry—”

“That’s good then. High-computation robots implanted with psychology analysis packages are the dangerous ones.” Du Zihan chatted for a few more sentences before hanging up the light screen.

Shi Shu’s training had been getting busier recently. He would come home and fall asleep immediately, making it hard to balance eating and living. After some thought, he bought the cheapest basic model to make taking care of himself easier.

Dong dong dong. A knock on the door sounded.

“Coming!” Shi Shu opened the door. The delivery robot placed a large rectangular box inside the room and then scanned his pupils.

“—Delivery successful, please confirm.”

“Such a big box? Do housekeeping robots have to be made as androids too?”

Robots had become popularized decades ago. Now, many home renovations included dedicated robot charging piles. Shi Shu opened the packaging, preparing to turn the robot on first. Just as he looked up, his finger paused on the screen.

“?”

Who makes a housekeeping robot this handsome?

Inside the box was a male robot, 190cm tall. Broad shoulders, long legs, a tall and perfect physique. His body was wrapped in transparent plastic and foam. Jet-black hair covered his closed eyes; he was silent and still.

He was wearing the factory-default pale blue simple top and trousers. The cotton fabric was simple, wrapping around a model-like figure, giving off a faint… husband material vibe.

Shi Shu looked further down.

190/L/21.

“190 is the height, what are the two behind it?”

Do you housekeeping robots need to be this flashy?

Puzzled, Shi Shu followed the procedure to turn on the “male model,” standing a step or two away to observe. A few seconds later, a flash of bright blue crossed the other’s eyes. He opened them, his pupils reflecting data like a stream of ants, his brow and eyes cold.

Ten seconds later.

“Booting up took so long, are the hardware conditions that poor?” Fortunately, the purchase page said basic models were like this, lagging behind by several years after all… Shi Shu read the user guide, “Menu, housework, just download settings from the cloud… Okay, turn on voice control?”

Shi Shu was reading the instructions on the light screen but sensed a slightly piercing gaze. He looked up to find the android’s glass-like pitch-black eyes staring at him.

“…” What’s the situation? Getting social anxiety even when looking at a robot?

Shi Shu: “What are you looking at me for?” He inputted his owner information.

The other party asked: “Do I have a name?”

The voice carried a faint sandy texture, very magnetic. It made Shi Shu raise his eyebrow again: “Everyone says robots shouldn’t be forced into beauty duty. Why make a chore robot so exquisite? I didn’t buy a companionship model…”

Shi Shu: “No, just pick one yourself randomly.”

“Alright. You can call me Xie Wuchi.” Shi Shu was about to tell him to clean up the plastic and trash on the floor when he heard the polite voice, “Can I take a shower first? Master. Fresh out of the warehouse, there is dust on my body. It’s not clean.”

“?”

Shi Shu only started living on his own in university. He usually trained at school. Although robots were common in today’s world, this was his first time interacting with one.

It was said that robots now had different personalities and character settings to provide better emotional value to humans. Shi Shu opened the light screen to check the model—Did I say I wanted to buy a robot with a personality?

Shi Shu had to grunt an acknowledgment: “Go ahead.”

Xie Wuchi took two steps forward: “Do I have new clothes?”

Shi Shu: “Huh?”

Xie Wuchi: “I am currently wearing the uniform factory clothing. Master, you can buy me new clothes and dress me up as you like.”

“…” No, why is the process for sweeping and cooking so long?

What kind of outfit do you need to do chores? Shi Shu was silenced by a robot. After linking to the cloud for big data analysis, the other party reminded him: “If you aren’t good at matching clothes, I have simulated several outfits and pushed them to your light screen page. Please check.”

Full of suspicion, Shi Shu looked down and saw the notifications on the screen: “Butler Suit, Gentleman’s Suit, Gentle Husband Set…”

“Huh?”

No.

He clicked on a suit combination. It looked like a male model on a runway. The black suit with good texture was tailored to fit perfectly. The wrist extending from the cuff had distinct bones. Even the hair was meticulously groomed. The eyes were alienated and cold, no different from the top chaebols often seen on TV.

“?”

You’re going to sweep and cook in this?!

Just as Shi Shu couldn’t help but question modern technological civilization, the voice drew closer: “You can also undress with one click to view the inner wear.”

“…” Shi Shu looked up. The android was smiling. After the screen switched, under the suit was a white shirt and a form-fitting vest, outlining vigorous lines of the shoulders and torso, possessing a beauty of intense power. He was turning his face to show off his unparalleled features and figure.

Shi Shu: “What is this again?”

Xie Wuchi: “These are sleeve garters. An artifact to keep things clean and sharp.”

“Wait a moment—” Shi Shu really couldn’t take it anymore, “Too detailed. Wearing this to do housework? This is too much ‘lifestyle’ isn’t it?”

As soon as his voice fell, he didn’t expect the android Xie Wuchi to lower his eyes and look at him: “I still need to do housework?”

Shi Shu: “Ah?”

I bought you to do housework!

You are a housekeeping robot! Brother!

Do you have a clear positioning of yourself?!

For some reason, perhaps because robots nowadays were made too realistically—the android’s skin, temperature, touch, and the cadence of speech were no different from a real person—Shi Shu found it hard to say “hurtful” words for a moment. He said: “Didn’t you want to clean up? Go first, go first.”

He found two commemorative T-shirts and pants he got from winning competitions and handed them over. The android was scanning the entire room at extremely high speed, his pupils cold and precise, taking everything into his eyes before accepting Shi Shu’s clothes.

“The cut and quality are not very good. It might not look too good when worn.”

“……”

Xie Wuchi used a very matter-of-fact and peaceful electronic synthesized voice to say: “I can also wear no clothes, if you require it, Master.”

Shi Shu: “???” I…

“No need, no need, no need!” With a bang, Shi Shu locked the android in the bathroom. He quickly jumped onto the sofa and opened the housekeeping robot forum, posting: “Why is the robot I bought so full of personality? Emotional fragmentation, slutty, and a bit faintly arrogant. What’s going on?”

Someone replied to the post: [Brother, AI has long been able to simulate different personalities. Sweet, domineering lady, simp, cold male god, even S and M. After all, people nowadays are very perverted.]

[Right, right, right. The robot I just bought is a Loli. She wants to drink strawberry-flavored machine oil every day. It’s like raising a child, I have no words.]

[After all, it’s to make robots more like humans. It won’t affect your life. If you care about it, just reinstall the system. Not a big problem.]

[It’s also possible it was a return? Previous owner set it up. Anyway, for various reasons, some disorders do appear…]

Everyone has initial system disorders? Shi Shu didn’t care too much then.

After exiting the page, Shi Shu returned to the robot purchase page. Since he had compared prices and stats from various sellers a few days ago, big data was frantically pushing various types of robots to his homepage.

“Study Robot, Your Partner in Progress!”

“Gaming Companion Robot, Shopping Robot, Makeup Buddy…”

Shi Shu was just about to exit when his gaze suddenly skimmed over an ad page.

“Sex Robot, Your Beautiful Life Partner!”

“Top-tier skin feel, real skeletal sensitivity, big data emotional analysis. Can be trained into any type you like! Simulates the ideal lover experience!”

The photo showed a shockingly handsome man, wearing a suit and sitting on a sofa. His figure was lean and moderate, wearing an exquisite watch, a chain around his neck. The lighting atmosphere was ambiguous, completely out of place with the other positive and sunny robot ad pages, full of seductive temptation.

Damn. Society is crumbling.

Shi Shu only glanced at it once before exiting the page and quickly forgetting it.

The forum was still chatting.

[Wahahaha, I know something huge and ridiculous. Next door to our housekeeping robot warehouse is the shipping warehouse for those Sex Robots. There have been cases of wrong shipments before!]

[You know, right? The price of those Sex Robots is extremely expensive! Later, the merchant asked the customer to return it, but they stubbornly refused. They had long since become lovers.]

The world is full of wonders. Since everyone’s robots had more or less some personality, Shi Shu prepared to welcome this robot with a broad mind.

The room was full of wrapping paper and plastic bags, taking up a lot of space. Shi Shu lived with his parents growing up, but after coming to a different city for university, he felt he was living well. But his mom couldn’t rest easy, saying, “Isn’t a housekeeping robot cooking you three or five dishes a meal better than you just making do?” So, he bought this housekeeping robot to set his parents’ minds at ease.

The sound of water in the bathroom interrupted his thoughts, and the door clicked open.

Water droplets slid down the android’s fingers. Under the jet-black hair, a dim light rested on his nose bridge. Wearing the T-shirt and long pants Shi Shu found, he had broad shoulders and long legs. His texture was undoubtedly like a real person; only the black barcode under his ear reminded one that he was a bionic robot.

Shi Shu prepared to use voice control: “First clean up the things on the floor. For dinner, see what dishes can be made with the remaining ingredients in the fridge.”

“Okay, Master. Are you hungry?”

Shi Shu watched the robot blow-dry his hair first, then come over to clean up the bubble wrap and plastic packaging. Perhaps because he was too close to a real person, Shi Shu actually felt a discomfort in ordering someone else around.

Shi Shu lay on the sofa. Xie Wuchi opened the fridge door, took out potatoes, green peppers, and ribs, and walked into the kitchen wearing grey slippers. The recipe download speed was fast; he skillfully took out a knife and cut the washed potatoes into thin shreds.

“…”

Normal now.

It seems he is a normal housekeeping robot; the system was just unstable earlier.

The only drawback was that he was too much like a real person, giving a sense of guilt like ordering a slave. Wasn’t the slogan of technological progress in the beginning “Let science serve humanity, let artificial intelligence serve humanity”? But now, news of AI gaining self-awareness and rebelling against humans emerged endlessly.

While Xie Wuchi cooked, Shi Shu turned on the TV, which was still broadcasting news about the master god “Adam” rebelling and being pursued.

Shi Shu was on break these few days, a rare rest. After eating at 7:30, he hopped on a voice call with Du Zihan and a few university roommates to play games.

Robots would return to the vicinity of the charging pile when resting, so Shi Shu didn’t pay much attention. He clicked into the game and went on a killing spree while chatting. Unexpectedly, Xie Wuchi didn’t hibernate but sat on the sofa with his long legs crossed, watching TV.

For some unknown reason, his physical appearance was more handsome and outstanding than other housekeeping robots. It was said… only robots providing emotional or sexual services would have stricter appearance production standards… This point was puzzling.

“…” Anyway, the companionship function was strong.

Shi Shu let him be and continued gaming: “Give the big ult, give the big ult, hold the angle! Zihan don’t be afraid, I’m coming to save you! Ah… I’m down too!”

“Didn’t you say you could carry? Little Schoolbag?”

“Accident, accident! Watch me next game!”

The lights in the room were adjusted to eye-protection mode. The AI took over all electronic networks in the room. Shi Shu continued playing. On holidays, he would stay up until one or two o’clock. However, at eleven o’clock, footsteps sounded behind him.

“Master, how much longer do I have to wait?”

Shi Shu’s slender white fingers pressed on the cursor. Looking back, Xie Wuchi was leaning behind him, surrounding the chair, casting a shadow. His voice was very magnetic, “Do you need me tonight?”

“?” Although Shi Shu felt he was a bit too close, he was still focused on the game, thinking he was waiting for a command. “Don’t need you anymore. Go charge, you can hibernate. Just go out and buy soy milk and soup dumplings tomorrow morning.”

Unexpectedly, the figure behind him didn’t leave.

Shi Shu shot someone dead in the game and looked back again. Xie Wuchi wore that cheap white T-shirt quite well. His Adam’s apple rolled up and down, his face immersed in the light and shadow: “Don’t want me to accompany Master to sleep?”

The voice had a grainy texture, a bit hoarse, a very涩 (erotic/suggestive) male voice.

The male gods Shi Shu met in games who fished for compliments sounded like this, yet even they didn’t sound as good as him.

Shi Shu: “?”

No. Huh?

Shi Shu said: “No need, I can sleep by myself. I can take care of myself. By the way, can your voice line be adjusted? Talking to me every day, there’s no need to use such a seductive voice. It’s a bit too ambiguous.”

Xie Wuchi: “It can be adjusted. Which kind does Master like?”

Shi Shu, originally sitting in the gaming chair, turned his face and tried switching through several voice lines. Surprisingly, they were all pure male god voices, so he had to give up: “Talk about it later, game started.”

Faint fluorescence reflected on Shi Shu’s face and nose bridge, a handsome youthful face. He focused on the game, not expecting the voice behind him again: “How much longer to play? I want to wait for you to sleep together.”

Shi Shu: “You’re being long-winded.”

Shi Shu felt he was still a bit weird. He hadn’t adjusted his mindset towards him yet, but Xie Wuchi still had no intention of leaving: “My skin is closer to a real person. Resting near the charging pile will get it dirty, maybe even break the skin and bleed.”

Shi Shu’s fingers pressed on the keyboard, unmoving: “Then what do you want to do?”

Xie Wuchi: “I want to sleep in your bed.”

Shi Shu paused for a second. The thought of returning the goods flashed through his mind, but he maintained: “You sleep in my bed, where do I sleep?”

Xie Wuchi: “We sleep together, of course. Is that not right?”

Clack, the key pressed down made a sound. Shi Shu had never heard of anyone’s housekeeping robot sharing a bed with the owner. He froze for a few seconds: “No.”

Xie Wuchi: “Forgot to remind you, you haven’t bought me toiletries and pajamas yet. To give Master a better service experience, my skin sensitivity is very high, no different from a real person. It’s uncomfortable right now.”

“…” In a puzzled mood, Shi Shu bought the things he needed. They arrived quickly, and he watched him go to the bathroom to wash up.

The game didn’t continue. Leaning against the door watching him, Shi Shu repeatedly checked the purchased model on the light screen: “It is a housekeeping robot, that’s right…”

Xie Wuchi took off his shirt in front of the bathroom mirror. His shoulders and back were exposed to the air. For a housekeeping robot, being this bony, vigorous, and powerful was purely superfluous.

When he walked to Shi Shu’s side, he emitted a faint scent of sea salt.

The texture of any part of his body was no different from a real person. Shi Shu looked until he turned his face away, saying: “If you don’t want to sleep in the charging bay, that’s fine. That model is indeed old. You sleep on the sofa.”

Honestly speaking, this robot was dawdling so much Shi Shu wanted to return it. His presence was excessively strong. He prepared to return to the bedroom when a burst of scalding heat came from his wrist.

Shi Shu’s hand was held. Turning back, they were right in the triangular area of the bathroom doorway. The temperature of the wrist was too hot, and the sea salt scent hit his face again.

Xie Wuchi’s features were aggressive, his brow jet-black, carrying a sense of calm scrutiny. He held Shi Shu’s wrist: “You don’t like my type?”

Shi Shu: “What?”

Xie Wuchi: “Observed from your micro-expressions, is there something unsatisfactory about me? You haven’t touched me all day today.”

Shi Shu took a step back. The weirdness of the topic alerted him: “Touch you?”

“Every aspect of my design is top-tier. There won’t be anyone better than me.”

His voice lowered, “Do you want to try it out? Maybe your opinion of me will change.”

What exactly needs to be tried out for sweeping, cooking, and laundry?! Shi Shu almost understood. The moment the hair on his back stood up, a palm attached to his waist like a snake, accompanied by a whisper, “Do you prefer a tougher persona?”

Shi Shu, having finished his shower and wearing white pajamas, looked fresh and clean. He looked up at Xie Wuchi for two or three seconds. In the next moment, the other leaned down. Soft lips brushed over his, Shi Shu’s wrists were pinned to the wall, and fingers interlaced through his hair, locking tight.

A fleeting kiss. Almost the next second, Shi Shu’s brain felt dizzy for a moment, and his lips and tongue were pried open, a wet heat invading his senses.

His mind went blank. When he came back to his senses, Shi Shu had already pushed him away, locking eyes.

Shi Shu, “What are you doing?! You just wait!”

Without letting Xie Wuchi say another word, he ordered a forced shutdown, then opened the light screen to prepare for a return. Not right, not right, very not right. There must be a problem with this robot’s programming, right?

Treating the kiss like being bitten by a dog, Shi Shu entered the reason for return on the page and contacted customer service. Unexpectedly, the customer service that usually replied instantly didn’t reply for a long time.

The application approval page also showed no movement. Shi Shu called customer service directly. The other party manually approved the application. Logically, a courier robot would be responsible for pickup even at night, but the other party said regretfully: “Sorry, due to a sudden accident at the warehouse, goods cannot be retrieved temporarily. The platform will extend your receipt time to safeguard your rights.”

Shi Shu: “What warehouse accident?”

“Inconvenient to disclose.”

Hanging up the phone, Shi Shu turned around. The robot’s eyes emitted fluorescent blue rays. Unknown when it had turned on, one arm rested on the edge of the sofa, sitting quietly in a relaxed posture, eyes closed resting. Wearing that loose white T-shirt, looking exactly like a human.

“Sure enough, a defective product? Why did it turn on automatically after shutdown?” Shi Shu’s knowledge of robots was limited. Since the courier couldn’t pick it up immediately, he thought he just had to accept it for now.

When robots were first developed, they were imprinted with thought seals forbidding harm to humans, so a defective robot wouldn’t present high danger. Shi Shu looked at his phone again and found the pickup time had been changed to three days later. Speechless.

Shi Shu prepared to shut him down again.

But approaching the sofa, the room lights suddenly flickered dim and bright, showing unstable voltage. All current input pointed to one center. Data flow appeared in the android’s pitch-black pupils.

An overload phenomenon of impending crash. Shi Shu confirmed the other was defective and called Du Zihan asking: “What to do if the bought robot malfunctions?”

Unexpectedly, on the other end of the phone, Du Zihan was very busy: “What’s wrong?”

“Expert, help expert. The housekeeping robot I bought has a temper and personality for no reason. It’s weird.” Shi Shu omitted the part where he was kissed. “How do you say I solve it?”

“Shut down, restart.” Du Zihan seemed busy, whispering, “Something happened in the lab recently, you know right? The news that’s been broadcasting for days. Many software intercepts were deployed to catch the escaping Master God system, destroying most of its information storage base stations, but a part of the information still leaked out.”

Shi Shu looked back at the robot on the sofa, finally recalling the big news dominating everyone’s vision these days: “What’s the situation? Very serious?”

“Very serious. The most severe case of AI defecting from humanity. You have to know, Adam is the highest computing power computer of the chaebol group. We are all working overtime here, preparing to mobilize national defense computers to intercept. If it penetrates the global network system, we’re done for…”

Zihan occasionally told Shi Shu some things, and Shi Shu never repeated them. Knowing he was busy, Shi Shu hung up: “Okay, you get busy. My robot malfunction shouldn’t be a big problem compared to you guys.”

Phone hung up.

It was almost eleven o’clock. Shi Shu prepared to sleep. Seeing the android sitting in the sofa with eyelids closed, appearing to be in standby repair mode. Looking at the notification on the light screen again, many network systems were under attack and experienced temporary paralysis. Shi Shu had to temporarily give up the idea of returning the goods.

“Fine, you sleep on the sofa. We’ll talk in a few days.”

Shi Shu pushed open the door, locked it tight, and lay into the warm quilt.

Deep in the night, the lights maintained a warm and soft tone. A figure lay under the quilt on the bed.

Shi Shu slept soundly, limbs relaxed in a “big character” shape (spread eagle). He usually slept without rules; his white pajamas were pulled up, revealing half of his lower abdomen.

Soft light traced his brows and eyes, dyeing shadows under his nose bridge. His facial lines were clean and sharp, his appearance very handsome and sunny.

Suddenly, a tick-tock sound came from the door. The lock was opened.

A tall figure appeared at the door in the darkness.

The air conditioning temperature was high at night. In his deep sleep, Shi Shu gradually sensed his body getting a bit hot. A pair of scorching hands wandered over his body, drilling under the bottom layer of the snow-white T-shirt.

When Shi Shu opened his eyes, a body was fixed behind him. His jaw was also gently pinched by a hand, his whole person curled up in a warm embrace.

“—Hmm?” Shi Shu was startled, turning his face sharply. Breath landed on the tip of his nose.

Familiar scent of sea salt, carrying a kind of synthetic but natural mineral bitterness. Shi Shu saw light traces printed with blue patterns appearing in the other’s pupils, illuminating the electronic barcode on the side of the ear, revealing a machine-like cold texture.

Shi Shu wanted to turn over: “Why is it you? What are you doing in bed instead of charging?”

But before his voice fell, as Shi Shu adjusted to turn over, the stimulation of the other’s palm brushing across his chest became more intense. Very hot, exactly the same as human body temperature.

Passing over the skin, the palm prints generated heat through friction.

Shi Shu’s spine arched abruptly. fingers quickly gripping his wrist, wanting to pull it away: “Get off, what are you doing? You don’t want to molest me, do you, big brother? You are a robot, get off!”

Shi Shu’s hands were clean and delicate. In contrast, the android’s fingers were slender and powerful, still covering Shi Shu’s ribs, on his clean white skin.

Shi Shu was baffled. He extended his fingers into his hair, preparing to press the shutdown button, but the next second, he heard the other’s voice: “Heartbeat.”

Shi Shu grabbed his hair, hand pausing. His forearm was suddenly grabbed by another powerful hand and pinned to the bedside, unable to move. Then he heard his voice.

“I apologize. Before leaving the factory, I was set with a persona possessing friction disorder and sex addiction. Therefore, I cannot violate my initial program settings now, Master.”

Shi Shu’s hand was held tight by him. The other hand was traveling down along his neck. Shi Shu kicked his legs hard: “What?!”

A housekeeping robot, why would it be set with these?!

Shi Shu faced a formidable enemy, suddenly having a flash of insight: “Wrong shipment! You aren’t for housework?”

“Of course, Master.”

The bedding was messy. Shi Shu had his chin gently stroked by one of his hands. The youth’s face was very handsome. A finger intentionally or unintentionally swept across the corner of his lips, rubbing his lips again and again.

The android whispered in his ear, his voice extremely agitating: “Master, I am the latest model R-659 Sex Robot, specially here to solve your physiological needs. My entire body, from top to bottom, is a tool meticulously crafted for you.”
