PE Ch6: For a straight men to be gay was a minor issue

After Pan Yinchuan woke up, he stared blankly at the dark surroundings for a full three minutes.

The curtains were tightly drawn, blocking the outside light. Pan Yinchuan searched for a while before finding the switch to control the curtains.

As the curtains slowly opened, the outside light gradually pierced his eyes.

He was still in the hotel!

When the curtains were fully opened, Pan Yinchuan squinted uncomfortably. His eyes hurt, his mouth felt dry, and the back pain and leg weakness had become so common in recent days that they were practically negligible.

While picking up his clothes and putting them on, he stretched his muscles and bones.

Then he walked back to the sofa, carefully reaching out to touch the marks on it.

Uh, it seemed like he had made those marks… would he have to pay for them?

Pan Yinchuan fell into deep thought.

He hadn’t considered that there might be something wrong with Mr. Huai leaving him on the sofa after they were done…

After all, he hadn’t even watched two adult films before, so how could he know what men should do afterward?

As for whether he was considerate enough, he had no idea.

“Grumble.”

Pan Yinchuan was hungry.

Thinking back, the last meal he had was yesterday afternoon before he went out…

But today there were no servants to come in and take care of him.

Pan Yinchuan had no choice but to pick up the phone. While trying to mentally condition himself to temporarily discard any sense of shame, he dialed the service department: “Hello, I’d like to ask…”

The other side quickly interrupted, “Is this room 801? Mr. Huai already left yesterday. Shall I bring breakfast up to you?”

“Okay.” So it was morning. Pan Yinchuan let out a breath, hung up the phone, and thought to himself that his days had become a blur.

Pan Yinchuan set down the receiver but didn’t immediately walk away. He stared at the receiver for a moment, then picked it up again and dialed his home number.

“Sorry, the call cannot be completed as dialed. Please contact your service provider.” The cold mechanical voice on the other end announced.

Pan Yinchuan was very disappointed.

The phone at Mr. Huai’s house was the same, it seemed to only dial certain fixed numbers. Had it been specially handled? Was Mr. Huai’s confidentiality level that high?

Pan Yinchuan couldn’t figure it out, so he simply lay there waiting for his meal.

He didn’t know if Mr. Huai was considerate, but the hotel attendants were indeed very “considerate”. Perhaps thinking that he might not be able to get out of bed, one attendant directly swiped a card to open the door, and then two people pushed in a dining cart, one tidying the room and the other setting up the food for Pan Yinchuan.

It was during this interval that Assistant Zhang hurriedly came in with people.

“I brought you some clothes to change into.” Assistant Zhang paused and asked, “Does Yan Xue know?”

How could Pan Yinchuan not know? He had previously borrowed Yan Xue’s name.

So he nodded.

Assistant Zhang smiled, “Good. Yan Xue took people to St. Ann’s Island. As long as he is there, there will be no trouble in Jiuhe City. Are you relieved now?”

So fast, the efficiency was so fast.

Pan Yinchuan couldn’t react for a moment, appearing as if he had been screwed silly.

“And that friend of yours trapped in Nanta City,” Assistant Zhang raised an eyebrow, “an Omega?”

Pan Yinchuan nodded, “Yes. How is he now?”

Assistant Zhang’s gaze toward him changed.

Pan Yinchuan finally noticed this and immediately explained, “I have no special relationship with him. I… I’m just a Beta.”

“Is that so?”

Pan Yinchuan had no choice but to honestly explain that he and the Omega were just passing acquaintances, but the unfortunate guy had been thrown into jail right after his adult differentiation, so it was just a coincidence.

Assistant Zhang laughed, “Young Master Pan is very kind-hearted, ready to help the distressed and needy.”

Pan Yinchuan didn’t know if he was being sarcastic.

Just take it as a compliment.

“Hmm, the person has been rescued and placed in a hospital next to Nanta City. Look, is this him?” Assistant Zhang, thorough in his work, finished what he had to say and then showed a photo.

Pan Yinchuan looked down.

The boy in the photo was lying on a hospital bed, his complexion restored to normal and his expression relaxed.

It was him.

Pan Yinchuan still didn’t know his name and had no intention of asking.

He handed the photo back to Assistant Zhang and said, “Thank you, you’ve worked hard.”

Assistant Zhang smiled, “Worked hard? Didn’t you change things yourself?”

Pan Yinchuan felt a bit embarrassed.

But then he thought, even work requires a salary. Didn’t he change this himself? There was no need to feel embarrassed… right? They didn’t feel embarrassed.

Assistant Zhang glanced at his watch and said, “Well, take your time with your meal.”

“Wait.” Pan Yinchuan stopped him, “Can I ask? Why did Mr. Huai bring me to such an event?”

He thought if it wasn’t necessary, he’d rather not go. If he embarrassed Mr. Huai, wouldn’t he come back and tear him apart?

“Well, there’s nothing that can’t be said. Mr. Huai’s status means there will be countless people sending others to him. He’s tired of it.”

Understood. He was now a shield, telling everyone that he had a partner, so stop pushing people forward.

“That’s all, thank you, Assistant Zhang.” Pan Yinchuan sat down, picked up his chopsticks, and prepared to eat.

Assistant Zhang stood up, his eyes unconsciously sweeping over Pan Yinchuan.

His collar was torn a bit, completely exposing his collarbone, and there was a mark on the back of his neck, like it had been squeezed too hard.

Assistant Zhang raised an eyebrow slightly, thinking he seemed to understand a bit of Mr. Huai’s preference.

“Change your clothes soon,” Assistant Zhang reminded him.

Such a sight shouldn’t be shown to others.

Pan Yinchuan had no idea what Assistant Zhang was thinking, buried his head and took a bite of shrimp dumpling, his mouth full as he responded, “Oh, okay.”

After having breakfast and changing clothes, a driver naturally took Pan Yinchuan back.

As he left, he couldn’t help but look at the flowers in the vase.

Alas, in the future, he could only give them to an Alpha. And this Alpha didn’t even like flowers.

The day before, Huai Yu had helped him avoid Xiu Liang and his son. Today, as soon as he returned home, he ran into the two visiting.

Xiu Liang sat in the living room, talking to the servant, “It’s okay, I’ll wait for him to come back. We haven’t had a drink and chat for a long time; yesterday we missed it.”

Xiu Ling stood aside, rolling his eyes and looking around. When he found that the villa showed no sign of another person, his expression improved significantly.

But his good mood only lasted until now.

“Young Master Pan,” the servant greeted.

Xiu Liang’s gaze fell indifferently on Pan Yinchuan, and he asked, “Is it him?”

Xiu Ling sneered darkly, “Yes.”

“A Beta…”

“Yes, a Beta.” Xiu Ling gritted his teeth.

The servant, unaware of what was happening, led Pan Yinchuan to his own room.

But Xiu Liang spoke up, “Come, sit and talk.” His tone was like that of a kind elder.

The servant had no choice but to say, “Young Master Pan, please accompany the guests.”

Xiu Ling’s expression grew uglier. They were the guests, so what did this lowly Beta count as? Was he supposed to play the host and entertain them? Why?

“Father…”

Xiu Liang ignored his son’s expression, pointing to the spot next to Xiu Ling, “Sit, I heard you used to be Xiu Ling’s caretaker.”

Pan Yinchuan knew they were here to settle accounts.

But based on his observations of Mr. Huai’s status in the past few days, they shouldn’t do anything too extreme here. Like… pull out the gun Xiu Ling couldn’t pull out yesterday and shoot him dead.

“How did Xiu Ling’s caretaker end up as Mr. Huai’s person?” Xiu Liang asked curiously, lighting a cigarette.

Pan Yinchuan couldn’t stand the smell of smoke and started coughing uncontrollably.

Xiu Liang immediately apologized, “Sorry,” even appearing somewhat polite.

Xiu Ling stared at him maliciously and sneered, “Can’t handle smoke?”

Pan Yinchuan turned his face slightly, “Hmm.”

He thought of Mr. Huai.

Mr. Huai didn’t seem to smoke either, and didn’t drink much.

Pan Yinchuan’s eyes moved, and he immediately found an excellent excuse, “Mr. Huai doesn’t like the smell of smoke.”

Upon hearing this, Xiu Liang extinguished the cigarette, “Indeed… he doesn’t like it.”

Xiu Ling felt as if this comment pointed out why he couldn’t gain Huai Yu’s favor, and his face turned blue.

Pan Yinchuan glanced at him secretly, thinking that being able to change expressions like a chameleon was a skill too.

Xiu Liang sighed, “Why don’t you sit?” He looked at Pan Yinchuan with a smile, “It seems my words don’t carry much weight.”

Pan Yinchuan, already feeling weak, could barely stand.

Alright, I’ll sit.

He distanced himself from Xiu Ling and sat on another sofa.

The servant, sensing the tension, quickly turned and quietly made a call.

“You’re quite young, right?” Xiu Liang asked as if chatting.

Pan Yinchuan replied, “Twenty-one.”

“Very young, you’re just a child to me.” Xiu Liang paused and continued, “Xiu Ling said you were a good caretaker, he wants to hire you back.”

Pan Yinchuan: “…”

Didn’t he feel guilty saying this?

“How about a salary of one million a month? You’d only need to care for him for two months. After that, you can freely choose other work.” Xiu Liang said kindly.

Xiu Ling’s expression changed slightly, “Father.”

Xiu Liang gave him a meaningful look.

Xiu Liang knew well that Huai Yu was generous. When it came to lovers, he spared no expense. If he didn’t offer a high price, how could he take the person away?

So naturally, he had to offer as much as possible.

Actually, he might only need to pay one month’s salary. Because knowing his son, this person would be tortured to death in less than a month. So, it was actually quite cost-effective.

“Did Xiu Ling tell you about his background?”

“…Yes.”

“Good, that saves trouble. Think carefully about this offer. No high-level caregiver earns this much worldwide.”

True, the top salary for high-level caregivers was about ten thousand a month.

Yet Xiu Liang and his son offered him a million a month.

But perhaps because he had already experienced the shock of the “Love Contract”, Pan Yinchuan felt no great emotion hearing such an exaggerated number.

Pan Yinchuan shook his head.

He wasn’t stupid, he wouldn’t be swayed by such numbers.

“Don’t be in a hurry to refuse,” Xiu Liang lowered his voice slightly, “You know very well that enduring an Alpha’s demands with a Beta’s body is very painful, without any pleasure.”

This was Xiu Liang’s trump card.

The Creator divided them into three types: Alpha and Omega were naturally a pair. When an Alpha’s pheromones entered an Omega, the Omega felt joy. Only they were truly compatible.

Betas couldn’t release pheromones or mark anyone. Facing an Alpha, a Beta would instinctively feel fear. An Alpha’s pheromones were a strong candy scent to an Omega, but poison to a Beta.

So Pan Yinchuan had to wear a buffer device, or he would really die in bed.

Compared to that, straight men forced to be gay was a minor issue.

But Pan Yinchuan still shook his head firmly, “You came to visit Mr. Huai today, right? If you have any issues, discuss them with Mr. Huai.”

Xiu Ling regarded human life as insignificant. Pan Yinchuan would rather die in bed than deal with Xiu Ling in any way.

A flash of ridicule crossed Xiu Liang’s face. He hadn’t expected this Beta to value connections over his own life.

But he still spoke kindly, “This is your matter. For my son’s sake, I’m willing to discuss it with you personally. Isn’t that enough?”

Pan Yinchuan recalled what Mr. Huai said about the flowers only being given to him.

He hesitated for a moment and, enduring his shame, said, “I belong to Mr. Huai. My matters naturally fall under his control.”

Xiu Liang: “…” No shame in saying this at all.

At this moment, Huai Yu, returning, stood outside the door and heard this sentence clearly, then stepped inside.
