PE Ch47: I am tolerant, I am very tolerant
That afternoon, Pan Yinchuan saw Huai Yu on the television news.
Had he returned to Central City?
“Nothing happened last night, right?” Yu Tong’s voice came from afar, and finally, his footsteps halted as he sat down beside Pan Yinchuan.
Pan Yinchuan turned his gaze to him and asked, “Where’s the boss?”
Yu Tong explained, “Last night, after you got drunk, he sent you back to your room, and then the vice president of Mingde Group invited the boss to karaoke. Everyone went together, and they haven’t woken up yet. I thought we couldn’t be short-staffed here, so I came over first.”
Yu Tong paused and then asked again, “Nothing happened last night, right? Because we left you alone…”
“Nothing happened,” Pan Yinchuan said lightly.
“Did your friend come over?” Yu Tong asked.
This couldn’t be hidden, but judging by his tone, it seemed they hadn’t met Mr. Huai. Pan Yinchuan nonchalantly nodded.
“Is he your boyfriend?”
“?”
Pan Yinchuan was puzzled. Did he not look like a straight man?
Before he could speak, Yu Tong pointed behind his ear. “It doesn’t look like something a girl would kiss out.”
Pan Yinchuan quickly got up and went to the bathroom, tilting his head to look carefully in the mirror… There was indeed a red mark on the side of his ear.
He thought it was more likely to be from pinching.
When he was asleep, and Huai Yu was silently waiting by his side, maybe the Alpha was already so angry that he wanted to strangle him.
Yu Tong had somehow followed him over and handed him a tube of ointment. “Got it from the hotel. Want to try it?”
Pan Yinchuan took it.
“Need help?” Yu Tong stood behind him. “Looks like it might be hard for you to reach.”
A light bulb suddenly lit up in Pan Yinchuan’s mind.
This routine felt so familiar!
He couldn’t tell the first time, but by the second experience, he was much more knowledgeable. Wasn’t this Jian Yan’s tactic?
Pan Yinchuan raised his hand and vigorously rubbed behind his ear, saying, “Forget it, no need to apply it. It’ll be fine in a couple of days.”
After speaking, he felt something was off.
He planned to try dating someone, so always refusing didn’t seem right.
But the words were already out… Pan Yinchuan could only awkwardly add, “That’s not my boyfriend.”
Never was.
“My mistake then, sorry.”
“No problem.” Pan Yinchuan waved it off, and the two sat back in the booth together.
The next day’s event wasn’t as lively. Yu Tong suggested, “It’s boring just sitting here. Is this your first time in Ji’an City? How about we take a walk?”
Yu Tong had an aunt working in Ji’an City, so he was familiar with the place.
Pan Yinchuan thought it was a good idea and followed him out of the hotel.
Pan Yinchuan never had much material desire since childhood, he wasn’t interested in shopping or playing games. When they wandered to an amusement park, Yu Tong asked if he wanted to go in.
Listening to the screams inside, Pan Yinchuan touched his chest.
The heart in his chest was thumping along with the sounds, and his brain started to ache.
“Too noisy,” Pan Yinchuan said.
“How about a coffee shop?”
As the conversation reached this point, Pan Yinchuan realized that wandering around with Yu Tong seemed even more boring.
Being in the operations department, Yu Tong was good at starting conversations. But it was just… boring.
Yu Tong talked about how he joined the company.
Pan Yinchuan awkwardly realized he wasn’t very interested.
Then he said Pan Yinchuan reminded him of a certain classmate.
At the coffee shop, they talked about which coffee was more authentic and which sweet liqueur made for a better blend.
Listening, Pan Yinchuan suddenly realized a problem.
His boredom with Yu Tong’s topics wasn’t Yu Tong’s fault; it was because he himself was too boring.
So even a person as boring as him had someone who liked him.
Even to the extent of driving Yu Jia’an mad, which was quite strange.
“Do you have anything you like?” Yu Tong suddenly asked.
His voice snapped Pan Yinchuan back to reality.
Pan Yinchuan thought if he answered “I’m okay with everything,” that would be too much.
“Want to eat something?” Pan Yinchuan glanced at his phone; it was about time for a meal.
Yu Tong immediately said, “I know a good place, you’ll probably like it.”
They took a cab three kilometers away.
When they sat down in the restaurant, Pan Yinchuan thought, if dating someone seriously was like this, there wasn’t much to look forward to. It wasn’t a necessity in life.
When the food was served, the restaurant’s TV started broadcasting another news story, but the main character was still Huai Yu.
Pan Yinchuan looked up for a bit.
“Mr. Huai is an impressive person,” Yu Tong’s voice suddenly sounded in his ear.
Hmm? Pan Yinchuan glanced at him and saw him also watching the TV screen.
“Most Betas have great admiration for him,” he heard Yu Tong continue.
Wait, don’t tell me you like Mr. Huai too? Pan Yinchuan’s expression turned odd.
Yu Tong didn’t notice and continued, “Most Alphas don’t agree with his philosophy, but they can’t help but submit to him, eventually willingly serving under him.”
“An Alpha falling in love with an Omega is natural, and AA relationships are unconventional but not uncommon. It’s rare for an Alpha to prefer a Beta so much that they even disdain Omegas.”
Yu Tong paused, observed Pan Yinchuan’s expression, and continued, “Mr. Huai doesn’t like being controlled by pheromones. It’s an interesting concept, right? He encourages Betas to enter military schools and use their calm minds to overcome powerful Alphas.”
It’s quite interesting.
Pan Yinchuan was also amazed early on when he found out where Jian Yan graduated from and what kind of connection he had with Mr. Huai.
“Actually, even Alphas can’t help but agree with him. Among Alphas, there are also differences in the strength of pheromones. The weaker ones should strive upwards too.”
Yu Tong’s tone finally shifted here, “I’m an Alpha too, it’s not too obvious, right? Because my pheromones aren’t very oppressive.”
“…Huh?”
“I admire Mr. Huai very much…”
Pan Yinchuan’s expression turned a bit odd again.
“I follow the same principles as Mr. Huai and have the same preferences,” Yu Tong said, looking deeply at Pan Yinchuan. “Since I was young, I’ve had no interest in Omegas.”
Pan Yinchuan: “…”
Yes, it’s… it’s very much the same.
Pan Yinchuan rubbed his head and heard Yu Tong ask, “Do you feel uncomfortable sitting with me?”
Pan Yinchuan shook his head.
“That’s great.” Yu Tong picked up a shrimp. “Let me peel it for you.”
After eating, when they saw an old lady selling flowers at the restaurant entrance, Yu Tong went over and bought a few, asking Pan Yinchuan, “Can you accept these?”
Pan Yinchuan thought for a moment, then slowly reached out and took them.
Yu Tong immediately pulled out more money and said to the old lady, “I’ll take the rest too.”
“Huh?” Pan Yinchuan was puzzled.
Yu Tong smiled slightly, “If you can accept a few flowers, you can also accept a whole bunch, right?”
Pan Yinchuan moved his lips, recalling his mother’s words. It seemed that indeed, everyone was more aggressive than he was.
He held the flowers.
Soon after, Huai Yu got the news.
“Mr. Huai?”
“…”
“Mr. Huai…” The person who spoke nervously swallowed, unable to bear the dead silence.
Pan Yinchuan had said he would try dating, but Huai Yu didn’t expect him to find someone so quickly the next day.
“Who is this person?”
“Mr. Huai, his name is Yu Tong, he’s an Alpha…”
In just one sentence, apart from the first three words, the rest all hit a nerve.
Yu Tong, the name sounded quite familiar.
An Alpha too.
Great, now he’s choosing Alphas for dating, but not him.
–
On the third day of the event, the boss finally came back, looking very pleased, repeatedly thanking Pan Yinchuan for helping him make many connections.
“Didn’t the governor say to keep Xiao Pan for a few more days?” The boss still used his usual form of address.
Before Pan Yinchuan could speak, Yu Tong returned with some fruit. The boss took it and asked, “Why is the watermelon cracked?”
Yu Tong helplessly said, “Got bumped on the way by an Omega, couldn’t really argue with them. Let’s eat this instead…” He said, pulling out a box of cherries and placing it in front of Pan Yinchuan.
At this moment, Pan Yinchuan’s phone rang. He answered, “Hello?”
There was no response from the other side.
“Hello?”
“If you don’t speak, I’ll hang up.”
“Yinchuan.” Lin Shaoyan’s voice suddenly sounded behind him, the Omega squeezing in from outside the sofa, affectionately hugging Pan Yinchuan’s arm.
‘Jian Yan might be pushed away, but Lin Shaoyan probably can’t be,’ Huai Yu had said.
Now Pan Yinchuan deeply understood Huai Yu’s words.
Fortunately, he had a new strategy now!
Pan Yinchuan looked at the phone screen showing a string of unfamiliar numbers and asked, “Was the call from you?”
Lin Shaoyan nodded, “I didn’t know where you were, so I had to find you this way.” But he didn’t explain exactly how he found him.
Through call signal location?
“This… this is the person who bumped into me earlier,” Yu Tong said in surprise.
Lin Shaoyan looked at him.
Yes, I really wanted to bump you to death.
But he said, “Yinchuan, I’m a bit hurt.”
The boss, watching this scene, was a bit dumbfounded. Being straight, he stared at Lin Shaoyan, his face slowly turning red. He quickly said, “Is this your friend? Shouldn’t we get some medicine?”
Pan Yinchuan nodded weakly, trying to pull his arm out.
But the Omega was stronger than him and didn’t budge.
“Why are you in Ji’an City?” Pan Yinchuan asked.
“I wanted to see you. Even though Uncle said you’d only be on a business trip for two days, I couldn’t wait any longer.”
Pan Yinchuan’s first thought was that he probably saw on TV that Huai Yu had returned to Central City, so he rushed over.
“Did you just arrive?”
“Yes.” Lin Shaoyan hid his true feelings.
Pan Yinchuan looked at him and thought it didn’t seem reasonable. With Lin Shaoyan’s real character, he should have arrived yesterday. Maybe Yan Xue had held him up?
“Stop hugging me.” Pan Yinchuan deliberately pulled back a bit, “It will cause misunderstandings.”
Lin Shaoyan asked, “Misunderstandings with whom?”
Yu Tong interjected, “Is this your younger brother? Omegas can be more clingy.”
Lin Shaoyan interrupted, “No, I’m a suitor.”
The boss almost dropped his eyeballs.
What? An Omega chasing a Beta, this was a first.
Pan Yinchuan now had some experience. He took out his phone and called Jian Yan, asking, “Where are you now?”
Jian Yan paused, sounding weak as if caught off guard, “…Ji’an City.”
Pan Yinchuan:
I knew it!
Alright, there’s no escaping this.
“Let’s have dinner together tonight,” Pan Yinchuan said.
Jian Yan, overwhelmed by this sudden good news, couldn’t hide his excitement in his voice, “Really? I’ll come get you now? What do you want to eat?”
“Just come.”
Since it wasn’t at home, there were no neighbors watching, and his dad wouldn’t think he was playing with multiple people’s feelings and beat him with a stick.
Thinking of this… Pan Yinchuan paused and reflected, is this a bit bad?
Lin Shaoyan watched him hang up the phone and asked sensitively, “Who did you call?”
“Jian Yan.”
“…,” Lin Shaoyan’s expression twisted a bit. “Why?” His eyes reddened, “You already have me, why?”
Pan Yinchuan pondered in his mind how to answer better, and finally said, “Then how about you leave?”
Lin Shaoyan choked up.
He looked at Pan Yinchuan steadily, his expression changing from tears to a smile, “I’m not leaving, I want to be here.”
The boss cleared his throat lightly, “So, tonight we…”
Pan Yinchuan glanced over, “All together.”
“Okay, okay.”
Pan Yinchuan took in their different expressions, feeling a strange sense of relief for the moment.
It seems like he can handle it a bit now.
Everything is fine now.
The boss said, “I’ll go upstairs and get something.”
Yu Tong stood up and said, “I’ll go too.”
The two of them got into the elevator together, and the boss finally stopped hiding his amazement, “What kind of family background does this Xiao Pan have? That friend who can command the governor, is he his boyfriend?”
“He said he’s not.”
“Then it seems he’s really some rich young master. Because he’s a Beta, he can’t openly vie for power within the family, but even if he’s been driven to this small city, others still have to show him some face for the sake of the family! Even such a beautiful Omega is throwing himself at him…”
Yu Tong felt something was off about this, but couldn’t quite figure out the logic for a moment, so he could only tacitly agree with the boss’s speculation.
The boss suddenly turned his head, “I see you’ve been attentive to Xiao Pan these past two days?”
Yu Tong asked with a smirk, “So? Is office romance not allowed?”
The boss shook his head, “You’re my nephew, why would I stop you from heading down Easy Street? Besides, you’ve liked Betas since you were a kid.”
Yu Tong didn’t lie, he had liked Betas since he was a child. It’s just that his romantic history was a bit more varied.
Yu Tong sighed, “In small towns, most Betas know their genetics are inferior, and they don’t have much hope in life, so many just give in to decadence. Clean ones like Xiao Pan are rare. He was probably a good boy in school too.”
“But can you really compete with him? Your rival is an Omega,” the boss expressed concern.
“He can’t fulfill the role of the top one.”
The boss had nothing to say.
As the two of them came back down with their things, Jian Yan arrived.
Jian Yan’s expression almost cracked when he saw Lin Shaoyan arrive first. Having just dealt with Huai Yu, now there was this annoying guy to contend with. Whether Colonel Yan’s capabilities had gone to the dogs, suffering such a humiliation, he still couldn’t handle Lin Shaoyan.
A Beta and an Omega eyed each other, both feeling particularly jealous.
“This is my boss.” “This is Yu Tong.” Pan Yinchuan pretended not to notice their expressions, introduced them one by one, clapped his hands and said, “Let’s go, let’s eat.”
The car was waiting outside.
The boss hesitated, “Did you arrange this in advance?”
Pan Yinchuan nodded.
After getting into the car, they gradually drove onto a strange road and finally stopped in front of a white gate. Carved on the gate was a leopard, a symbol of power.
When the gate opened, the governor came out.
“Mr. Pan, you’re finally here… This person…” The governor couldn’t help but pause, “There are quite a few people.”
Lin Shaoyan and Jian Yan’s expressions both froze for a moment.
Wouldn’t Huai Yu find out soon that they had followed him? Was this deliberately bringing them here?
“Let’s go in,” Pan Yinchuan urged.
It’s good that Huai Yu isn’t here.
So they wouldn’t always think he rejected them because of Mr. Huai’s oppression.
It was the boss’s first time attending such a powerful private dinner, and he didn’t know how to handle his hands and feet.
There wasn’t much time for Yu Tong to be nervous because he had just walked in. He didn’t have a seat yet and had already seen the new Beta fighting with the Omega for the opportunity to be on Pan Yinchuan’s left side.
On the right side was the governor, and no one was grabbing him.
The competition… there were quite a few. Yu Tong raised an eyebrow.
It indicates that Xiao Pan still has more charm that he hasn’t seen yet, right? It’s a good thing.
“Yu Tong, sit here,” Pan Yinchuan suddenly spoke up.
The two opposite were instantly dumbfounded.
“Him?”
“Are you sure it’s him?”
Both of them looked at Yu Tong.
The Omega’s gaze was gloomy, while the Beta smiled with a hidden blade.
For the rest of the dinner, they almost directed all their firepower at Yu Tong.
“Which university did Mr. Yu graduate from?” Jian Yan asked.
“Donna Economic University.”
“Oh, that’s the university that’s despised by practitioners for being so bad.”
Yu Tong’s expression stiffened for a moment.
“I graduated from Haigu Military Academy,” Jian Yan introduced himself.
That was indeed something to be proud of. Yu Tong and the boss both showed a hint of shock.
But Jian Yan followed up with, “My shooting scores have been top-ranked for years. One shot can blow a person’s head open.” He said this while staring tightly at Yu Tong’s forehead.
Yu Tong’s expression became even more stiff.
After Jian Yan finished, he didn’t forget to take a jab at Lin Shaoyan, “When did you go to college? Didn’t even finish high school properly.”
In terms of education, Lin Shaoyan was outdone. He sneered, “I didn’t go to military academy, I took the path of private military training. Besides learning shooting, I also learned how to break someone’s neck. Even if it’s an Alpha, I can break his neck.”
Yu Tong: “…”
The boss found it difficult to swallow even water, looking at this Omega like he was looking at a king flower.
They had nearly gone through three rounds of argument before realizing that Pan Yinchuan had disappeared.
“Where’s Pan Yinchuan?” Jian Yan’s expression changed slightly.
The governor said, “Oh, I asked him to rest upstairs.”
“Is he… tired?”
The governor gave a vague answer, “Yeah.”
Pan Yinchuan leaned against the railing on the second floor and realized that this tactic was indeed effective, albeit a bit underhanded. With more people causing chaos, they wouldn’t be able to focus on competing for him. But how could he compensate Yu Tong?
Should he start dating him? But it seemed really boring. However, the words had already been said to Huai Yu…
Pan Yinchuan was still worrying.
Suddenly, he felt a tremendous force, wrapping around him tightly, lifting him up waist-high, and covering his mouth and nose at the same time.
Pan Yinchuan couldn’t even make a sound before being carried away by the man.
The man seemed to be carrying an aura of fury.
Kicking open the door with one foot, he walked straight in while carrying Pan Yinchuan. Turning on the lights, their figures were clearly reflected in the full-length mirror opposite.
From behind, the man holding him had a dark expression, his brows and eyes cold… it was Huai Yu.
Pan Yinchuan’s eyelids jumped heavily, instinctively grabbing Huai Yu’s wrist and calling out, “Wait!”
Huai Yu didn’t speak, placing him gently on the nearby sofa, then leaning in close. Even though the Alpha pheromones no longer caused discomfort, the overwhelming presence of being stared at by such a powerful Alpha didn’t diminish.
Pan Yinchuan breathed lightly, “Do you regret it? Did you break your promise?”
Huai Yu’s hand was already on his waist, lifting up his shirt slightly, and then pressing firmly against the smooth skin, rubbing down to his tailbone.
Pan Yinchuan shivered slightly, calling out the man’s name softly, “Huai Yu!”
Huai Yu lowered his eyes and asked, “Did you accept flowers from Yu Tong?”
“Can’t I accept them?” Pan Yinchuan felt he should stand firm. But now he wasn’t so sure anymore. Did he really grab the “key” named “Huai Yu”?
Huai Yu tightened his lips, “… You can.”
“Then why… are you angry?”
“Am I angry?” Huai Yu bent down closer, casting a shadow over Pan Yinchuan as light streamed down from behind, his tone gentle but husky, “I’m not angry.”
Pan Yinchuan’s heart pounded wildly.
Adrenaline surged through him once again.
“If you’re not angry, then let me go…”
Huai Yu didn’t answer his question, instead, one hand peeled off Pan Yinchuan’s pants.
Pan Yinchuan’s hairs stood on end instantly, “If this isn’t anger, what is it?”
Huai Yu didn’t respond to his questioning, suddenly half-kneeling in front of Pan Yinchuan, one hand tightly holding him to prevent him from moving, while the other hand opened up and enveloped his lower body.
Stroking and teasing.
This was something Huai Yu had never done before.
After all, at that time, the positions were clear, and the Alpha could simply enjoy himself.
Pan Yinchuan had always been disciplined since childhood, barely watching movies, and never daring to do such things himself.
For the first time ever, he felt his mind explode with a “bang”, those exploding stars mixing into his bloodstream and rushing through his limbs and bones, accompanied by an extremely intense tingling sensation.
“Hu… Huai Yu.” He struggled to speak, curling his hands and feet, the light and shadow burning into his eyes, disorienting him.
Huai Yu lifted him up horizontally and walked into the bathroom.
Turning on the shower.
The warm water poured down, soaking both of them.
With Huai Yu’s forehead dampened, his hair stuck tighter, giving his cold brows and eyes a touch of tenderness.
Pan Yinchuan kicked him twice, but he couldn’t escape from his grip, being pressed against the tiled wall by Huai Yu.
“Huai Yu! Huai Yu…” He could only call out the Alpha’s name, “You’ve broken the rules, you’ve deceived me, Huai Yu…”
Huai Yu held onto his waist, leaning down again.
Alpha loosened his grip and lowered his head.
This time, it was Alpha who used his lips to give commands, in a beautiful and delicate way…
This time, fireworks exploded even more in Pan Yinchuan’s mind.
He was incredibly shaken but couldn’t help but grab Huai Yu’s hair forcefully. His body trembled violently, an unprecedented sense of pleasure overwhelmed him, leaving him completely unable to escape.
The shower splashed down loudly, and he had no idea how much time had passed.
Huai Yu stood up straight, not continuing further.
“The clothes are wet; I’ll get someone to bring new ones,” he said softly, his voice sounding even huskier.
Pan Yinchuan breathed heavily, sitting still, still gripping a few strands of Huai Yu’s hair in his fingers.
He felt tired and bewildered, murmuring, “You shouldn’t have done this…”
Huai Yu returned to his side, crouching down and asking, “What did I do wrong?”
“You… you shouldn’t have done this.”
“I tolerated it; I’ve been very tolerant,” Huai Yu said hoarsely.
Pan Yinchuan blushed from his cheeks to his ears, “It’s not that… I told you I wanted to date someone else; how could you…”
Huai Yu’s tone remained unchanged, “Yeah, I let you go. Did I stop you? I didn’t.”
“But you…”
“Well, during that call the other day, I didn’t say I couldn’t be the third party.”
“?”
