PE Ch31: Yu Jia’an couldn’t endure such stimulation

Pan Yinchuan took a sip from the thermos, still a bit dazed.

Mr. Huai had really become strange…

“Sorry, sorry, the conditions here are harsh, with constant wind and sand.” The lieutenant colonel accompanying them smiled apologetically.

Pan Yinchuan’s mind was filled with questions, which were pressed down again, leaving no time for further thought.

He returned the thermos to Huai Yu, put on the down jacket, and said, “It’s fine.”

The lieutenant colonel immediately led them into the base. Pan Yinchuan couldn’t hold back any longer and asked Huai Yu, “Can I enter such a place?”

Isn’t this a military base?

“Why wouldn’t you be allowed?” Huai Yu said casually, “Confidential information won’t be laid out on the surface for you to see.”

That was reassuring enough.

Otherwise, Pan Yinchuan would worry about accidentally seeing some classified information and ending up being silenced by them.

They quickly walked into a glass hall. Huai Yu stopped, glanced around at the people present, and asked, “Are all the officers above soldier rank here?”

“Yes, Mr. Huai.”

“Call the roll and organize the troops.” Huai Yu sat down in a chair, slightly raising his chin.

“Yes, sir!”

The roll call began over there, while Huai Yu turned to Pan Yinchuan and said, “Why are you standing? Sit.”

In the entire hall, there was a table with two chairs on either side of it.

A very classical Chinese arrangement.

Typically, the people sitting on either side should be of equal status. So, after Huai Yu sat down, no one dared to sit in the other chair.

Even the lieutenant colonel was still standing, like a schoolchild next to Huai Yu.

The strange feeling in Pan Yinchuan’s heart surged up again.

But he still followed Huai Yu’s words and obediently sat down next to him.

“Make a pot of tea,” Huai Yu instructed someone nearby.

That person immediately showed a look of embarrassment, “I neglected this! I’ll do it right away!” This place was a backwater, and it had been years since someone of such importance had visited. They didn’t even know how to fawn properly anymore.

By the time the tea was brewed, the roll call was almost complete.

The lieutenant colonel’s adjutant frowned, “Where is he? Didn’t we call him specially? That slacker! I always look out for him.”

“He just said he had a stomachache and left for a bit,” someone else answered.

Huai Yu noticed the commotion and interjected, “Missing someone?”

The adjutant instinctively felt something was wrong upon hearing this. Mr. Huai seemed very concerned about whether everyone was present…

The adjutant’s heart sank, and he was momentarily torn, unsure whether to reveal the information.

But who was Huai Yu?

His hesitation was enough for Huai Yu to glean the necessary information.

“What’s that person’s name? What rank?” Huai Yu asked directly.

At this point, the adjutant had no choice but to answer truthfully, “Dong Qingsong, captain.”

“Not a low rank.”

“Yes, he’s made significant contributions to the base… his appointment came directly from Central City.” The implication being that they hadn’t acted improperly.

Huai Yu turned to look at Pan Yinchuan, who was warming his hands with a teacup, and said unexpectedly, “It seems we’ve found him.”

“Found him?” Pan Yinchuan’s expression finally changed a bit, “Yu Jia’an?”

Huai Yu nodded slightly, his tone indifferent, “This time, unlike when we went to St. An State, there are no media outlets present, and the reception was handled by local military and government officials. This means our itinerary couldn’t be known to the public. But Yu Jia’an acted quickly; shortly after we landed, he hid away without leaving a trace.”

“So his source of information can only be official,” Pan Yinchuan added.

“Yes.”

“Then how are you sure this person is Yu Jia’an? Maybe he’s just an informant Yu Jia’an left in the military and government circles?”

“If he were just an informant, there would be no need to avoid you and me; he could continue playing his role. Yu Jia’an is different… he’s afraid you’ll recognize him.”

Now Pan Yinchuan understood why Mr. Huai had been acting so strangely these past few days.

Constantly having him around, even displaying excessive affection, was all to force Yu Jia’an to reveal himself!

“What… what Yu Jia’an?” The adjutant couldn’t control his astonishment and blurted out.

The lieutenant colonel frowned at him but didn’t say anything.

After all, if there really was a problem, the more shocked they were now, the more they could distance themselves from it.

Of course, Huai Yu had no intention of explaining to a small fry.

He continued to speak quietly, “Of course, there’s a 1% chance this is just a coincidence… so next, let’s verify.”

Pan Yinchuan gripped his cup tightly and asked, “How do we verify? By having them find this ‘Dong Qingsong’? If they can’t, it means he’s indeed Yu Jia’an?”

Huai Yu only said, “Have some tea.”

“Oh.” Pan Yinchuan quickly took a sip.

Then Huai Yu grabbed his wrist, pulling him up from his seat and walking out.

The lieutenant colonel and others were dumbfounded, “Mr. Huai?” “Mr. Huai, are you leaving already?”

So who was this Yu Jia’an? What was his relationship with Dong Qingsong?

They were still in a fog of confusion!

Huai Yu didn’t even look at them. He leaned down and whispered in Pan Yinchuan’s ear, “Do you think he’s gone?”

“Well, didn’t you say he’s afraid I’d recognize him? He’s not a fool; if he left under the pretext of a stomachache, he must have run far away by now, right?”

“I don’t think he’ll leave. How could he bear to leave? He’s afraid to see you, but he also wants to see you. Especially now…” Huai Yu released Pan Yinchuan’s wrist and instead pinched his earlobe.

Pan Yinchuan’s steps paused unnaturally, then returned to normal.

“He might be watching you,” Huai Yu’s voice was even lower, “and me.”

In the base’s monitoring room.

The young man sat steadily, showing no intention of running. He was just staring at a small screen in front of him.

On the screen.

The Alpha was affectionately playing with the Beta’s earlobe.

For a moment, one thought flashed madly through his mind:

They must have slept together.

They must have slept together!

A nearby soldier noticed his odd expression and quickly asked, “Captain, is something wrong?”

The soldier’s face was tense, “Mr. Huai is here today; nothing can go wrong at the base.”

The young man’s expression gradually calmed from madness and hatred.

He turned around and laughed, “Just kidding, there’s nothing wrong. Keep an eye on the monitors; we absolutely can’t let any hostile elements sneak in to assassinate Mr. Huai.”

“Yes, sir!” The soldier stood at attention and replied.

The young man stared at the screen for a few more moments.

The Alpha seemed to really like the Beta’s body. His fingers had moved away from the Beta’s earlobe, now caressing the side of his ear, then sliding down to his neck…

The surveillance was silent.

But the lack of sound made the visual impact even greater.

“Captain, shouldn’t we turn off this surveillance?” The soldier also noticed the intimate actions between the two and showed an awkward expression.

He dared not watch Mr. Huai being intimate with someone on the monitor.

The young man squeezed out three words from his throat, “Turn it off.”

Huai Yu’s steps didn’t pause. He placed one hand on Pan Yinchuan’s neck, guiding him out.

Just as they were about to leave the base, he suddenly pressed Pan Yinchuan against the wall, his hand on the Beta’s neck tightening, enclosing him, and then he kissed him.

Pan Yinchuan was caught off guard by the kiss and had no time to struggle.

The lieutenant colonel and his group halted their steps, frozen about two meters away, quickly averting their eyes.

Huai Yu’s kiss was somewhat fierce.

Pan Yinchuan could even feel the hand on his neck tightening bit by bit.

It was as if he wanted to completely trap him in his arms.

Is this… the way to verify?

Pan Yinchuan thought, gasping for breath.

The down jacket he barely wore slipped off and fell at his feet.

The glass wall behind him conveyed a cold temperature through his baseball jacket. A bit… cold.

But just as Pan Yinchuan had this thought, he noticed Huai Yu’s other hand coming up, pressing against his back, separating his body from the glass wall.

… It was different from the last time he kissed him in the bathroom.

This thought suddenly popped into Pan Yinchuan’s head.

“Huai… Huai Yu.” He barely pushed the Alpha in front of him away and managed to squeeze out a sound.

Although Huai Yu had said he could call him by his name directly.

But this was the first time Pan Yinchuan said it out loud.

Huai Yu released him in response, his expression dark and unreadable.

He said, “It seems I overestimated him. Even if Yu Jia’an turned himself into an Alpha with an editor, he’s still a coward, worse than a Beta at heart.”

Pan Yinchuan panted and thought, otherwise?

Could he rush out seeing you kissing me in front of everyone?

Yu Jia’an wasn’t a lunatic.

The sound of military boots hitting the ground grew closer and closer.

The lieutenant colonel and his group looked in the direction of the sound.

They saw “Dong Qingsong” pushing through the crowd and said, “Sorry, am I late? I just heard about the roll call…”

He paused mid-sentence.

Then he stared at Pan Yinchuan in shock and blurted out, “Pan Yinchuan? Is that you, Pan Yinchuan?”

He paused for a moment and said, “Do you remember me? We were high school desk mates! I’m Yu Jia’an!”

He openly admitted it.

The lieutenant colonel and others’ faces changed slightly.

So, he was indeed the person Mr. Huai was looking for?

What did he do to offend Mr. Huai?

The lieutenant colonel’s expression turned solemn, just about to speak.

But Yu Jia’an had already stepped past the others, striding towards Pan Yinchuan, asking excitedly, “Don’t you remember me?”

Pan Yinchuan frowned.

What was this all about now?

Huai Yu adjusted Pan Yinchuan’s collar, his eyes dark.

“It seems he’s already thought of an excuse to escape,” Huai Yu said coldly.

Yu Jia’an couldn’t endure such stimulation.

Huai Yu’s goal was achieved.

But he didn’t feel even a shred of pleasure…

Only now did Pan Yinchuan slowly recover from the immense shock.

… Alright, it seems Yu Jia’an is indeed a lunatic.

Pan Yinchuan met Yu Jia’an’s gaze.

Compared to his memory, his features had changed a bit. His facial features were more pronounced, clearly showing the change from a Beta to an Alpha.

“Of course, I remember you,” Pan Yinchuan said.

Yu Jia’an’s steps faltered unnaturally, his body trembling slightly.

He didn’t hide his excitement, murmuring, “Great, great, you remember me…”

Tears welled up in his eyes.

Huai Yu gripped Pan Yinchuan’s wrist more tightly, his expression suddenly darkening.

… He really wanted to sew Pan Yinchuan’s mouth shut.

Didn’t he know that those six words were what Yu Jia’an most wanted to hear?

Nothing could make Yu Jia’an happier than hearing “Of course, I remember you” after a long separation.

“Haha, so you were high school classmates?” The lieutenant colonel forced a laugh.

He thought, could it be an ex-boyfriend from high school?

No one paid attention to the lieutenant colonel.

Pan Yinchuan noticed that his wrist was being gripped tightly, to the point of pain.

But he didn’t have time to complain to Huai Yu.

He looked at Yu Jia’an and said, “Your father wants to kill me; how could I not remember you?”

The lieutenant colonel was stunned.

The expression on Yu Jia’an’s face also froze.

Mr. Huai… Mr. Huai’s mood improved again.

Xiao Pan suddenly realized that it was all to lure out Yu Jia’an. What a close call; he thought Mr. Huai was getting weirder and weirder.
