Chapter 119.2: My Husband Has a Split Personality (27, 28, 29)

After the wedding ceremony ended, the banquet began. The guests mingled, toasting each other and sharing in the joyous atmosphere.

“Mo Yingying” noticed that Ying Youjie had left at some point and saw this as a perfect opportunity. Following Xu Jin’s instructions, she hurriedly brought the spiked wine over to Ying Zhao, her face flushed as she said shyly, “Master Ying, today is my cousin’s happy day. I’m grateful for your presence, and I’d like to toast to you.”

Ying Zhao glanced at the glass of drugged wine in “Mo Yingying’s” hand, his eyes flickering. He took the glass and drank it all in one go right in front of her, noting the undisguised joy in her eyes.

Afterward, “Mo Yingying” stayed close to Ying Zhao, waiting for the effects to take hold. Xu Jin, watching from a distance, took note of everything.

He hadn’t expected the head of the Ying family to be so careless. He had already prepared other means in case “Mo Yingying” failed to drug him. But to his surprise, Ying Zhao was so cooperative, saving him the trouble.

What “Mo Yingying” didn’t know was that the drug not only had an aphrodisiac effect but could also suppress soul power. If Ying Zhao drank the wine, his soul power would begin to dissipate gradually, leaving him weak and vulnerable.

He didn’t tell “Mo Yingying” that the drug also had the effect of suppressing the soul power within the body. If Ying Zhao really drank that wine, by the next day, his soul power would gradually dissipate until it was completely gone.

Xu Jin thought with satisfaction as he took another sip of the juice in his hand. For some reason, he felt the banquet hall was a bit stuffy today.

He took a deep breath and loosened two buttons on his collar. Seeing that Ying Zhao still looked calm, Xu Jin frowned, feeling a surge of irritation.

After waiting for a long time, Ying Zhao finally began to show signs of dizziness and discomfort. “Mo Yingying,” seeing this, immediately approached him with joy, trying to support him, but he avoided her.

Not wanting others to notice anything unusual, the transmigrated woman anxiously said to Ying Zhao, “Master Ying, are you feeling unwell? Shall I take you to a guest room to rest?”

Hearing this, Ying Zhao nodded but still didn’t allow “Mo Yingying” to touch him. He slowly walked toward the Mo family’s guest room, with “Mo Yingying” following closely behind.

Watching his somewhat staggering steps and that cold yet handsome face, her heart filled with anticipation.

After finally leading him into the room, “Mo Yingying” thought that now there would be no one to disturb them. She laughed coquettishly, trying to lean into Ying Zhao’s embrace with a soft, boneless posture. However, before she could even touch him, she suddenly felt a sharp pain at the back of her neck and lost consciousness.

Ying Zhao looked at the unconscious transmigrated woman on the ground and crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow. Glancing back at the angry young man, he teased, “You hit pretty hard.”

The young man, seeing Ying Zhao’s calm demeanor, was furious but couldn’t bring himself to get angry at him. He hugged Ying Zhao’s waist and bit his cheek hard.

Seeing the red mark on his face, the young man’s anger subsided a bit. He licked the spot with a heartbroken expression and muttered, “That woman dared to scheme against you. Not killing her is already being lenient.”

Ying Zhao nodded and, realizing his lover was a bit jealous, quickly appeased him with a sweet kiss.

Before they had arrived at the wedding, Ying Zhao had already informed Ying Youjie about the situation. Of course, he hadn’t revealed Xiao Bai’s existence, only saying that one of his subordinates had uncovered the plot. Although this had infuriated the young man, he agreed to cooperate with Ying Zhao.

Glancing coldly at the unconscious transmigrated woman on the ground, Ying Youjie disappeared from the spot in a flash. When he returned, he was holding a man who was barely conscious—Xu Jin, who had been at the banquet earlier.

At this point, the effects of the drug were evident in Xu Jin. With Xiao Bai’s system, swapping someone’s drink was a breeze. And with Ying Youjie’s tenth-tier soul power, finding a moment to teleport and take someone away unnoticed was no challenge.

Since the transmigrated woman and Xu Jin had plotted against him, Ying Zhao had no qualms about making them reap what they sowed. After all, in the original storyline, these two had conspired together.

Looking at the struggling and writhing Xu Jin in his hand, the young man, filled with disgust, threw him directly onto “Mo Yingying.” Without caring about the two entangled people on the ground, he grabbed Ying Zhao and left the room.

Not long after, a sharp scream echoed from the direction of the guest rooms. The Mo family had already arranged several rooms for guests to rest, and since these rooms were not far from the banquet hall, the scream quickly drew everyone’s attention.

Soon, a servant ran out in a panic, stammering, “Something—something terrible has happened! The young lady and Master Xu—they, they…!”

The servant was incoherent. Ying Zhao and Ying Youjie exchanged a glance and walked toward the guest room. Naturally, the onlookers wouldn’t miss such a spectacle, so soon a large crowd gathered outside the room. When they opened the partially closed door, they saw two disheveled people embracing each other. From their appearance, it was obvious what had transpired.

Xu Jin seemed to still be unaware of what was happening, while “Mo Yingying” was completely lost in the moment, clearly a willing participant. However, since she wasn’t drugged, she realized what was happening when the crowd arrived. She screamed and tried to escape, but as a mere woman, she couldn’t break free from Xu Jin’s grip. Everyone witnessed their disgrace.

Old Master Mo almost fainted from anger at the scene before him. After all, today was the wedding of his granddaughter, and he had never expected such an event to occur during the banquet on such a wonderful day.

Although he had always known that “Mo Yingying” was very attentive to Xu Jin and believed that if they truly had mutual feelings, as an elder, he wouldn’t stop them from being together, he was furious that they were caught having an illicit affair at the wedding of her own cousin. This was beyond embarrassing—it was utterly disgraceful.

Seeing the dark expression on her grandfather’s face, Mo Yingying felt displeased but hurried over to comfort the old man. Meanwhile, Xu Hao, who was young yet responsible, took on the host’s role and politely saw the guests off. His calm and composed demeanor in such a situation caused many to regard him with higher esteem.

After all, this was a private matter for the Mo family, so the guests, unwilling to continue watching the drama, quickly returned to the banquet hall, leaving behind only Old Master Mo and a few key members of the Xu family. Without hesitation, Old Master Mo picked up a glass of water and threw it in Xu Jin’s face, snapping him out of his daze.

Although Xu Jin was the acting head of the Xu family, the Xu family members refrained from directly criticizing him, though they were still dissatisfied. After all, his actions had tarnished the family’s reputation, and some even blamed the former head of the Xu family for making him acting head.

Once Xu Jin regained clarity, he looked around in a daze and quickly realized that he had fallen into a trap. It was clear now—his attempt to manipulate others had backfired, and someone had turned his own scheme against him.

But with the situation as it was, he had no choice but to marry this woman to calm the Mo family’s anger. So, the next day, Xu Jin and “Mo Yingying” hastily married in a small ceremony witnessed only by a few people from the Mo and Xu families.

Afterward, Xu Jin, along with the transmigrator and the rest of the Xu family, left in disgrace, returning to City A. But upon his return to the Xu family, Xu Jin found that things had drastically changed.

The old head of the Xu family had miraculously recovered, able to get out of bed and walk. Furthermore, it seemed he had already heard about the incident at the wedding banquet and was deeply displeased with Xu Jin. Not long after, using a pretext, the old head revoked Xu Jin’s position as acting family head, declaring that his health had improved enough for him to manage the family himself.

In addition, in recent days, the old family head had shown a clear admiration for Xu Hao, which made Xu Jin even more desperate to prove himself and regain favor. Desperate to salvage his image, Xu Jin thought of Secretary Li, who had been secretly colluding with him. He believed this was the perfect opportunity to showcase his abilities. Xu Jin and Secretary Li conspired to oust the Ying family and, even at the cost of his personal assets, managed to take over a project they had been working on.

Xu Jin had thought he would make a fortune from the project, but he quickly realized that it was nothing but a hollow shell, and he had walked right into someone else’s trap. Secretary Li was soon taken away by the commercial investigation team for leaking company secrets.

Though Xu Jin managed to escape direct involvement through his own tactics, he had nearly lost all of his personal assets. Even worse, he soon discovered that his soul power was slowly dissipating.

Initially, when nothing happened in the first few days, Xu Jin had thought he might have only been drugged with a common sedative. But soon enough, the inevitable came. As he watched his soul power gradually fade away, he was filled with a deep sense of panic.

Now, with both his wealth and status plummeting and his soul power slowly slipping away, Xu Jin was utterly broken.

He knew he had fallen into Ying Zhao’s trap, realizing that his opponent must have long been aware of his plans. Xu Jin had never imagined Ying Zhao’s schemes were so intricate, laying a trap that he hadn’t even noticed. What he once thought were careful, calculated steps now seemed like a joke.

Looking at the woman lying on the floor, whom he had tortured to the point of being unrecognizable, Xu Jin still felt a burning hatred in his heart. Though this woman was foolish, she wasn’t the one truly responsible for ruining him. After tossing her aside, Xu Jin left the room.

The woman, “Mo Yingying,” was now on the verge of death, yet no one cared about her well-being. Even though her original plan to be with Ying Zhao had failed, and she couldn’t marry him, the transmigrator still felt that marrying Xu Jin wasn’t such a bad outcome.

However, after actually being with Xu Jin, “Mo Yingying” realized that the man who appeared gentle and refined on the outside was, in reality, a devil.

Over the past few days, Xu Jin had clearly used her as a tool for venting his anger, torturing her for no reason, leaving her body covered in wounds, with not a single spot unscarred.

In her previous life, the transmigrator had been an ordinary woman with no great intelligence or abilities. Coming to this world, she had simply believed that being a transmigrator made her special.

But after being repeatedly tortured by Xu Jin, “Mo Yingying” had long since broken down. Lying on the floor, the transmigrator babbled incoherently about being the heroine and being a transmigrator, having lost all semblance of sanity.

Meanwhile, after leaving the room, Xu Jin locked himself in the secret chamber of his study. He retrieved a small box from a hidden compartment and opened it to reveal a paper talisman cut in the shape of a person.

Activating the talisman, the paper figure inside the box suddenly transformed into a real person—it was none other than Ying Jiyang, the man Ying Zhao had been searching for.

At that moment, Ying Jiyang’s face was pale as he looked at the disheveled Xu Jin. A cruel smile appeared on his face as he said, “What’s wrong? Ready to accept my offer?”

Xu Jin, on the verge of hysteria, shouted at Ying Jiyang, “I agree! I’m willing to give you control over half my body. But I don’t just want the Xu family—I want the Ying family too. And no matter the cost, I want Ying Chengye to die a horrible death!”

Hearing this, Ying Jiyang sneered and beckoned to Xu Jin. Sensing Xu Jin’s rapidly weakening soul power, a glint flashed in his eyes as he nodded, saying, “As you wish. Once I enter your consciousness, don’t resist me. Just like before, remember, our goals are aligned!”

Blinded by hatred, Xu Jin failed to notice anything strange about Ying Jiyang and nodded without hesitation.

Several years ago, Ying Jiyang, who had been dormant in the forest, was accidentally discovered by Xu Jin. Knowing he harbored ambitions toward the Ying family, Xu Jin took Ying Jiyang’s spirit with him.

The two had reached an agreement. At the time, Ying Jiyang’s soul was extremely weak, and he needed to occasionally enter Xu Jin’s consciousness to recuperate. In return, he promised to reveal secrets about the Ying family, ensuring Xu Jin could benefit from their assets.

It wasn’t until the last time, during Old Master Mo’s birthday banquet, that Ying Jiyang, hiding within Xu Jin’s consciousness, saw Ying Youjie and keenly sensed that his body was extraordinary, the perfect vessel for his own soul.

So, he manipulated Xu Jin, saying he was willing to hand over the entire Ying family, only desiring a real body in return. The best candidate for that body was Ying Youjie. However, to obtain this body, he first needed to possess a body of his own to perform the power transfer technique.

Thus, he deceived Xu Jin, claiming that he needed control over half of his body to cast the spell. Although many times before, Xu Jin had allowed Ying Jiyang to enter his sea of consciousness, handing over partial control of his body was no small matter. Xu Jin had always hesitated, until now, when he had no other choice and decided to go all in.

Xu Jin opened his sea of consciousness to Ying Jiyang, who entered his body just as he had done in the past. However, once Ying Jiyang gained partial control of Xu Jin’s body, he quickly attacked Xu Jin’s sea of consciousness, taking full possession of the body.

Before Xu Jin could react, his soul was shattered by Ying Jiyang, turning into dust in an instant. Feeling himself finally regain a body, Ying Jiyang smiled smugly.

He thought something must have happened, causing Xu Jin’s soul power to show signs of dispersing, and his soul to become unstable. It was because of this that he could so easily shatter Xu Jin’s soul.

However, since this body’s soul power had already dissipated, it wouldn’t last long. With this thought, a cold glint flashed across Ying Jiyang’s face, and in a flash, he rushed toward the Ying family.

Meanwhile, Xiao Bai, who had been ordered to constantly monitor Xu Jin, had just reported the horrifying scene he had witnessed to Ying Zhao. Ying Zhao finally understood why he had felt such a strong sense of discord from Xu Jin earlier.

No wonder he had sent so many men to search the forest and had found no trace of Ying Jiyang. He had never imagined these two would collude together, something completely beyond his expectations.

At this moment, having just seized Xu Jin’s body, Ying Jiyang was rushing toward the Ying family, and his intentions were clear without needing to guess—they were certainly aimed at his lover.

Right now, Ying Youjie was at the company handling affairs. Ying Zhao, having been exhausted yesterday, was forced by the young man to stay home and rest. But considering the strength of a soul power practitioner, even coming from City A wouldn’t take long. Ying Zhao hurriedly teleported to the president’s office of the Ying Corporation.

He saw his lover holding a document, looking at him with a surprised expression. Ying Zhao cleared his throat and awkwardly explained, “I’m fine. I just missed you and came to see you.”

“You missed me!” The young man’s face broke into a big smile. He put down the document, walked over to Ying Zhao, and took his hand, leading him to the sofa. He held Ying Zhao in his arms while continuing to look at the work he hadn’t yet finished.

Holding Ying Zhao like this, Xiao Jie looked at the document with satisfaction and said, “I missed Uncle too. I wish I could be with Uncle every moment of the day.”

Though remaining alert, Ying Zhao couldn’t help but soften at his words, and with a gentle tone, he said, “In a couple of years, when the Ying family is fully stable, we’ll groom a successor to take over these matters. Then, wherever you want to go, I’ll go with you.”

“If you don’t feel like going anywhere, we can just stay home every day. Whether we read books together or cook together, whatever you want to do, I’ll be right there with you.”

The young man looked up at Ying Zhao’s gentle eyes, feeling as though he had just heard the most beautiful words in the world. He nodded vigorously, then lowered his head to bite the soft lips of the person in his arms, kissing him sweetly, full of affection from the bottom of his heart.

But some people always seem to choose the worst moments to show up and ruin the mood. Just as they were embracing and kissing, Ying Zhao suddenly sensed a powerful soul force rushing toward them.

At the same time, a twisted-faced Xu Jin appeared before them—or rather, Ying Jiyang, who had taken over Xu Jin’s body.

Though neither Xu Jin nor Ying Jiyang alone was a match for Ying Zhao in terms of strength, Ying Jiyang’s previous cultivation was too sinister. He immediately created a barrier, trapping both of them inside.

Ying Zhao looked at the unbreakable barrier in front of him, anxiously watching Ying Jiyang confront his lover. But he noticed that the man he loved showed no signs of concern. When Ying Jiyang attacked again, the young man casually waved his hand and sent him flying to the ground.

“No! Impossible! You… you’re a Soul King!”
