FLME Ch26.2: Justice and peace

Chu Han: [Are you swearing at me?]

Xi Su had been warned by his agent never to swear in front of the camera. This was the first time Chu Han heard him swear. He didn’t expect there to be someone who swore as a habit, treating it as an insult.

So Yu Wen joined the chat, and just after sending the first message, Chu Han immediately complained: [Yu Wen, he’s swearing at me.]

Yu Wen: […]

Xi Su: [I’m more wronged than Dou E!]

Chu Han: [Do you believe him? I was really cursed!]

Yu Wen didn’t have time for their bickering. The speed of crisis management had to be quick; once a negative impression was left on the public, it would be hard to erase.

So he briefly scanned the endless chat history.

Yu Wen: [Stop arguing. If you want to fight, do it in the dance practice room.]

The group fell silent for a moment, then became even more lively.

Chu Han: [I thought you were a fair person, but I didn’t expect you to ignore the injustice others suffer. You’ve disappointed me greatly.]

Yu Wen was confused: [Did I make a mistake? I thought I created a group chat, not a courtroom.]

Xi Su: [Teacher Chu, don’t take it so seriously…]

Chu Han exploded: [Don’t be pretentious here. This is between me and Yu Wen! No third party needed!]

Xi Su: [Me?!]

Yu Wen: [Third party…]

Xi Su: [6.]

Yu Wen paused and saw Chu Han’s righteous stance in the group chat: [This is a very serious matter.]

Yu Wen: [For such a serious matter, does the UN know about it?]

Chu Han: [If necessary, I can report it.]

Yu Wen: [……]

Xi Su: [……]

Yu Wen closed his eyes in front of the screen and wondered if there were any mature and composed people in this world.

The answer is yes.

He saw his own mature and composed face on the black screen.

The excellent and composed adult Yu Wen smiled slightly, entered the group chat, and quickly sent a voice message: “Teacher Chu Han, what you need to do now is not argue but immediately sign with a company. The company will issue a legal letter and send the rumor-mongers to court. Additionally, we need to contact Director Gao and the ‘Fenghua’ crew as soon as possible to find the crew members or some footage from the recording. Xi Su, your issue is not hard to solve. The illegitimate child is not a moral issue. As long as you can reconcile with Feng Chengzhou, you can still continue in the entertainment industry.

“Note, this is not a drill! Note! This is not a drill! Go go go!”

After sending it, he quickly threw his phone away, afraid of being dragged into the battlefield and becoming the judge for these two.

Half an hour later.

Yu Wen opened the door to find Chu Han and Xi Su, who had arrived almost simultaneously, lost in thought.

“May I ask why you are visiting me in the middle of the night? Who sent you?”

On the sofa, Yu Wen poured a glass of water for each of the uninvited guests, stood with his arms crossed in front of the coffee table, and looked down at them.

“Let me hear what kind of trouble is so urgent that it requires a face-to-face discussion.”

Half an hour ago, after Yu Wen sent that voice message, he contacted Xie Heyu to ask if the company had any emergency plans for the current crisis. Xie Heyu’s answer was no, and Yu Wen replied, “Fine.”

So he returned to the group chat to collect the wisdom of the people and saw Xi Su asking:

[Where are you?]

Yu Wen answered without thinking: [At home.]

Xi Su: [Where is your home?]

Yu Wen gave a general location.

Xi Su: [Reconciling with Feng Chengzhou is easier said than done. I need to find you now for on-site guidance.]

Then Chu Han saw this and, unwilling to be outdone, said: [I’m coming too!]

Before Yu Wen could react, these two friends from the same city arrived at his neighborhood at lightning speed, and he had no choice but to provide his apartment number.

…How fast was “lightning speed”? For half an hour, Yu Wen couldn’t even reach them.

Xi Su, sitting cross-legged on the sofa with his blue hair looking like a mess and showing signs of exhaustion, said:

“I mentioned in the group chat that I don’t understand. You need to guide me in person.”

Yu Wen: “… Teacher Xi, you could at least use your wisdom. Before selling barbecue, shouldn’t you exercise your brain first?”

I’m worried you’ll be deceived like this.

Xi Su: “Are you saying I should go study? Is there an educational requirement for selling barbecue now?”

Yu Wen thought for a moment, studying is fine, knowledge changes fate.

He subtly said: “Reading more is beneficial. I hope you can adapt better to this world.”

Xi Su thought about it and decided to study. He would become the most handsome and highly educated barbecue shop owner in Z City, a name that sounded cool: “Alright.”

Yu Wen nodded in satisfaction and looked at Chu Han.

Chu Han nodded reservedly. “We have a charity livestream in a few days, and the product is watermelon…”

“So, we should meet in a few days in the morning, not come to my house in the middle of the night.”

Chu Han showed a hint of anger and remained silent for a while.

“I’m preparing to sign with your StarLight Media.”

Yu Wen: “Are you crazy?!”

Chu Han repeated: “Not a makeshift team, but your StarLight Media.”

Yu Wen: “Our StarLight Media is a makeshift team.”

Chu Han: “……”

Realizing his “affection” for the company was too straightforward, Yu Wen controlled himself. “Uh, actually, we, StarLight Media, are a company with a lot of potential and a bright future. The company atmosphere is relaxed, the work intensity is low, and we give artists the greatest freedom. Uh, for me, it’s a wonderful utopia, but it might not suit your temperament…”

“Relaxed atmosphere? Freedom?” Xi Su suddenly interjected, seeming quite interested. “Damn, I like it. Does your company still need people? How about me?”

Yu Wen: “You’re crazy too!”

He swore he loved this company, but in the people-oriented entertainment industry, StarLight Media’s foundation was as fragile as sand, and it would scatter if a breeze blew. It suited a salted fish like him but was absolutely unsuitable for Chu Han, who had a strong desire for acting, and Xi Su, who had a strong desire for money.

The two pairs of big eyes looked at him in confusion.

Yu Wen couldn’t explain and said gloomily: “Wait a moment. I’ll explain the reason when another key person from the company arrives.”

When Xi Su asked who he was waiting for, Yu Wen solemnly replied: the technician.

Although the company had no emergency plan, from Xie Heyu’s words, it seemed he could professionally evaluate the recording.

Just before Xie Heyu arrived, Yu Wen managed to contact Xie Jiamo. During the video call, the boss asked why so many people were at his house. Yu Wen spread his arms and dramatically said:

“Today, we gather here to fight back against rumors and seek justice and peace—”

“President Xie.” Chu Han peered out from under Yu Wen’s arm and made eye contact with Xie Jiamo, “I want to sign with your company.”

Yu Wen: “……”

Xi Su peeked from the other side, “Boss, I also want to sign.”

Xie Jiamo on the other end of the call was silent for a moment, then let out an excited, sharp cry, “Good, good, good, sign them all! Sign them all!”

Xie Heyu, holding the spare key Yu Wen provided, entered the room. He had been summoned back just hours after leaving, and his brows showed a slight fatigue, which dissipated into a lively curiosity as he overheard the conversation.

He asked, “Aren’t you happy in the entertainment industry?”

Xie Jiamo opened his mouth to scold, but Yu Wen quickly ended the video call, holding the tablet helplessly and saying, “You see, even the key staff say this! It’s not that we don’t welcome you, but our company’s scale… is not suitable for ambitious people.”

In fact, Yu Wen thought that the unprofessional setup of StarLight Media could cause significant trouble for the artists’ future development.

Of course, he didn’t care. As long as the company was happy, that was enough.

Xie Heyu, changing his shoes by the entrance, showed a contemplative expression upon hearing this.

“No,” he said, “it’s not that the company’s scale is unsuitable for ambitious people, but rather, our company might disband at any moment.”

Yu Wen, suddenly hearing this dire news, turned around in shock, “What?! Our company is going to close?!”

Xie Heyu tilted his head slightly and said, “Don’t worry, even if it disbands, it won’t affect you.”

Yu Wen: “That’s not the point. I really like our company; it can’t close!”

Xie Heyu looked down and thought for a moment, “It won’t disband for now. Our boss doesn’t show signs of losing passion.”

Yu Wen’s mind was suddenly enlightened, immediately realizing the unstable nature of Xie Jiamo’s habits. He breathed a sigh of relief, “Oh, so the instability is here.”

It was simple; just flatter the boss a lot. According to his observation, the boss was very receptive to positive feedback and often got passionate because of it.

Xie Heyu pulled up a chair and sat down, getting to the main topic, “The editing evaluation is in progress and will take a bit more time.”

The technical restoration of the recording was very difficult and time-consuming. Actually, the most effective method at this point would be to drag the mastermind behind the scenes out and have the victim’s company file a lawsuit. As long as they win the lawsuit, the rumors would naturally disappear. Even if there were no results in the short term, this attitude could stop some defamation.

Unfortunately, Xi Su was really lacking in insight.

Until Yu Wen pointed it out, he hadn’t suspected his private investigator, let alone the evidence. He even allowed the other party to touch his computer, so it was unrealistic to expect any traces of evidence.

Without evidence, it’s hard to file a lawsuit.

“It’s okay,” Xie Heyu suddenly said nonchalantly, “Xie Jiamo is looking for it.”

Yu Wen was surprised that he brought up the boss at this time, “…Oh, okay. But the boss is not a detective, so it’s hard to find, right?”

Xie Heyu raised his eyebrows, “Didn’t Xie Jiamo tell you about the company’s background?”

Although Xie Jiamo was unreliable…

He had several reliable siblings.

Yu Wen showed a puzzled expression.

Xie Heyu cautiously spoke, “My second aunt…”

“We’ll talk about your second aunt later.” Yu Wen grabbed his hand, thinking he was in the mood to confide, and that it wasn’t a good time for heart-to-heart talks.

Yu Wen blinked his sincere eyes, “Let’s handle the current matter first; they’re more urgent.”

Xie Heyu: “…”

He wanted to say that his second aunt ran a law firm and had connections in that field, and could find out within three days.

On the other hand, Yu Wen and Xi Su, two novices, started researching the technical restoration of the recording.

After chatting for a while, Xi Su suddenly had an epiphany.

“Don’t you have a recording of me editing the recording at that time?”

Yu Wen was stunned for a moment.

“Oh right.”
