FIMA Ch10: Analysis

Xie Qingxiao licked his lips.

After a while, he said rather helplessly, “I told you, it’s a friend.”

Gu Siyuan ignored his quibble and said directly, “The answer is simple, because Shen Ting likes Lu Jiayang.”

Xie Qingxiao stared at the person opposite, “You… think so too?”

For a moment, he didn’t know how to describe his feelings, a mix of relief and clarity, but also incredulity and frustration.

Gu Siyuan raised an eyebrow, sincerely mocking him, “Didn’t you say it was your friend?”

Xie Qingxiao no longer argued with him, just lowered his eyes and chuckled softly.

After a while, he touched the black chess piece in his hand and asked, with a bit of bewilderment, “But… not to mention Lu Jiayang is also an Alpha, they’ve known each other since childhood, if they like each other, why…”

Why… drag me into this ridiculous game?

The latter part, Xie Qingxiao didn’t say out loud, couldn’t say out loud.

The pure black chess piece spun and jumped between his jade-white slender fingers, making them look like beautifully carved jade.

Gu Siyuan tossed the empty ice cream container into a nearby trash can with precision, shaking his head, “Who knows about you young people’s love games?”

Xie Qingxiao’s previously downcast mood was roused by his words.

He looked at the person opposite, rolling his eyes lightly, “We’re young, does that make you middle-aged?”

After speaking, he wrinkled his nose, snatched the remaining ice cream from beside Gu Siyuan, and took a big scoop.

In the early winter weather, this big scoop brought a chill to his core, Xie Qingxiao couldn’t help but hiss, then continued to ask, “If they are mutually in love, then what am I?”

Gu Siyuan looked at his forcibly taken ice cream, feeling a bit heartbroken, and said coldly, “Just a passerby.”

Xie Qingxiao laughed angrily, glaring at him.

After a while, as if in self-deprecation or venting, he said, “You might not believe it, but on Qixi Festival, Shen Ting clearly took the initiative to give me a gift, and Lu Jiayang usually calls me ‘sister-in-law’ enthusiastically, I didn’t do anything, yet now I seem to be the unluckiest one…”

Gu Siyuan watched the ice cream being poked into a mush, silent.

But Xie Qingxiao was persistent, his wet round eyes, like a deer’s, full of pure and persistent determination, staring at him pitifully.

Gu Siyuan coughed lightly, someone with no romantic experience like him, now had to be a relationship counselor, hoping not to mislead…

He thought for a moment and tried to analyze rationally, “In a love triangle, regardless of right or wrong, the one not loved is always the most pitiful and unlucky in the end.”

“You sound really innocent, but feelings are hard to force. You only have two choices now, one is to cut your losses in time, completely give up on Shen Ting; the other is to fight back and make them pay.”

Hearing the first choice, Xie Qingxiao looked bored and even his expression darkened; hearing the second, his eyes widened slightly, looking very interested.

Gu Siyuan thought, “No wonder you went astray later, you’re inherently a wolf.”

Considering his mission’s nature, Gu Siyuan continued to analyze, “But, you’re a senior in high school now, it’s best to focus on the college entrance exam. Wasting time and energy on love affairs is putting the cart before the horse.”

Thinking of the college entrance exam, and that strange family of his.

The fact that he could have some face in front of Xie Chengfeng, making Gong Li and her son suffer repeatedly, had a lot to do with his barely excellent academic performance.

So, Xie Qingxiao pouted, continued to poke at the ice cream, looking very disinterested.

“Of course, that’s just one aspect. The most important thing is that Shen Ting’s family is powerful, and he’s a formidable person himself. With your small frame, fighting alone, there’s a high chance you can’t do anything to them. You might even anger Shen Ting and end up with unforeseen consequences you can’t afford to bear.” Gu Siyuan concluded.

Xie Qingxiao couldn’t even poke at the ice cream anymore.

He looked at Gu Siyuan and said, “So I should just let it go? Just let myself be used…”

Gu Siyuan asked, “May I ask, are your feelings for Shen Ting very deep? Is he irreplaceable? Why?”

Xie Qingxiao paused, a rare look of embarrassment and shame appeared on his face.

After a while, he pouted, “Actually, I knew him when I was very young. He helped me out once, though unintentionally, but for some reason, since then, his image has been deeply imprinted in my heart…”

Gu Siyuan looked at Xie Qingxiao deeply, so accomplished, such an early crush.

Senior year time passes faster than usual, and a day’s holiday ended quickly.

Monday is never a happy day for most people around the world.

And for the students of North River High’s Class 3, this Monday was especially unpleasant because of the upcoming parent-teacher meeting in the afternoon.

However, it didn’t affect Gu Siyuan much.

Because the stock he bought the day before was doing well yesterday.

Moreover, although he had only met Jiang Hefeng once in this life, their interactions on WeChat were good, discussing a lot of useful things. After writing the small program, he could probably monetize it through his connections.

Time is like this: the more you want it to slow down, the faster it goes.

The morning passed quickly, and when the afternoon class bell rang, you could clearly feel most people’s nervousness and distraction.

The parents’ meeting was officially scheduled for four in the afternoon, right after the second period.

However, some parents arrived earlier, such as Shen Ting’s mother.

The Shen family are shareholders of Beichuan High School, and Mrs. Shen is an honorary director of the school. She took the opportunity to come to the school for the parents’ meeting and also had a brief chat with the principal.

After the first afternoon class ended, Mrs. Shen came to their class to wait for Shen Ting and Lu Jiayang.

Mrs. Shen brought a delicately packaged afternoon tea and handed it to Lu Jiayang, saying gently, “Jiayang, I specially had someone buy this from your favorite store.”

“Hehe, thank you, Auntie. I knew you were the best to me,” Lu Jiayang immediately took it with delight, hugging Mrs. Shen’s arm and starting to act spoiled.

Seeing this, Shen Ting rarely spoke in a pampered tone to his own mother, “Mom, why did you only bring it for him and not for me?”

Mrs. Shen said frankly, “Obviously, there’s none for you.”

Shen Ting seemed used to this and continued to ask with a smile, “Mom, whose real mother are you?”

Mrs. Shen waved her hand and joked, “Of course, I’m Jiayang’s real mother; you were picked up from the roadside.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Jiayang immediately raised his eyebrows proudly at Shen Ting, looking very smug.

Shen Ting didn’t mind at all and smiled indulgently at him.

Mrs. Shen also raised her hand to gently stroke Lu Jiayang’s head, smiling both gratefully and helplessly, thinking as she had countless times before: if only Jiayang were an Omega, then he could marry into their family…

Their family backgrounds matched, they knew each other well, and he was so well-behaved and sensible. It would be perfect!

After class, Xie Qingxiao sat at his desk organizing his papers. When he looked up, his gaze calmly swept over Shen Ting and the others.

He propped his chin and watched with interest for a while.

Hmm, they look really harmonious, like a real family.

“Heh…” A light laugh sounded beside him.

Without thinking, Xie Qingxiao knew who it was; this guy always appeared at just the right moment.

He immediately pulled his thoughts back and turned to glare angrily at Gu Siyuan, “Classmate, do you get your daily joy from laughing at me?”

Gu Siyuan looked up from his book, an innocent and confused expression on his face, “What are you talking about?”

Xie Qingxiao frowned slightly.

In his eyes, Gu Siyuan was always wise, calm, and shrewd; it was rare to see him look so bewildered and cute…

However, he still distrustfully glanced at the tattered book in Gu Siyuan’s hand. The familiar title “Old Master Q” on the cover caught his eye.

His expression changed slightly, and he coughed lightly, “You were reading a book just now, so you were laughing at something in it…”

“What else…” Gu Siyuan nodded affirmatively.

Xie Qingxiao hummed guiltily and said nothing more.

Gu Siyuan thought for a moment, then looked at him sideways, “Or did you do something stupid again?”

After spending a few days with Gu Siyuan, Xie Qingxiao had picked up a bit of his poker-faced lying skill: “I’ve been sitting here the whole time without saying a word; what could I have done?”

Though this statement seemed to subconsciously admit that he had indeed done many stupid things before.

Gu Siyuan’s mouth curved slightly. He rummaged through his desk and handed over a math test paper, “Alright, you did well today. Here’s a reward: solve these problems for fun.”

Xie Qingxiao took it, glanced at it, and was pleasantly surprised, “Where did this come from? The problems are quite novel!”

The two students in the back row were dumbfounded by this scene.

Solving math problems for fun?

Wouldn’t that be increasingly painful?

Indeed, the world of academic gods and top students is beyond my understanding!

However, Xie Qingxiao didn’t immediately start solving the problems but got up to leave.

“I just remembered, Old Wang asked me to go to his office at noon to get a set of math papers to distribute before the second period.”

Gu Siyuan lazily said, “Hmm, have a good trip. Even if you see something unpleasant, don’t break down and cry.”

Hearing this, Xie Qingxiao almost rolled his eyes.

But as he walked past Gu Siyuan, he suddenly remembered something and grabbed his collar, “Didn’t you say you were reading a book the whole time? So you weren’t laughing at me?”

Gu Siyuan: “…”

Mistake!

This kid is quite sharp when he’s not thinking about love…
