ATAVID CH113 [Extra]
“How curious—during that skyfire catastrophe in the ninety-eighth year of Changning, didn’t everyone say that the devil head Wei Guanlan had already perished, body and soul? How is it that he has actually returned to Yunque now?”
On the screen of the Lingxi Mirror, similar posts were bumped to fiery popularity, with discussions rising and falling in endless succession.
Below, someone quickly replied to a post, their tone quite indignant: [Why must you refer to Wei Xun as a devil head? Even though he fell into the demon path, he has never indiscriminately slaughtered innocent people, right?]
Seeing themselves refuted, the original poster immediately struck back coldly: [If he was truly clean and innocent, then how do you explain the tragedy of Mirror Lake City in the mortal realm back then, as well as the overnight destruction of the Xuantian Sword Sect? Furthermore, he later openly seized the Buxu Sect’s sacred item, the Nine Heavens Immortal Lotus!]
Before that person could argue further, a dense barrage of replies had already flooded in below.
The Lingxi Mirror was far more convenient than ordinary communication jade slips. Not only could it transmit audio in real time and synchronize news across various major sects, but it could also connect across realms to the Dao discussion forums of the Demon Realm, Nether Abyss, and Demon Beast Realm. Among the replies at this moment, quite a few IDs belonging to demon cultivators had already mixed in.
A Good Demon: [Did you see the matter of Mirror Lake City with your own two eyes? The修真界 (cultivation world) knows full well in its heart the cause and effect behind the Xuantian Sword Sect’s destruction—yet you’re still here twisting black and white. Aren’t you a surviving remnant of the Xuantian Sword Sect from back then? Furthermore, the origin of the Buxu Sect’s Nine Heavens Immortal Lotus was filthy to begin with; as for how it was obtained, you might as well ask the elders of the Buxu Sect. The Demon Realm has always been a place where the strong devour the weak—the strong claim the prize. Don’t tell me the cultivation world expects to preach pedantic morality to demons? (^_-)]
Sword Cultivator Not Cultivating Sword: [Original poster, don’t use the name of the cultivation world to start flame wars. Immortal Venerable Shen has already made the whole truth public to the world, so why deliberately muddy the waters again?]
Don’t Want Talisman Class: [Well said! Such remarks truly ruin the reputation of the cultivation world. The original poster clinging to this issue—are you trying to ignite conflict between the two realms once again?]
Your Demon Daddy Is Here: [Tsk tsk, no need to guess—the original poster is either from the Buxu Sect or the Xuantian Sword Sect. Every single word is trying to splash dirty water onto our Supremacy.]
Senior Brother I Really Don’t Like Men: [Poster, after investigation by the Immortal Alliance, the person who slaughtered the elders of the Xuantian Sword Sect in that annihilation case back then was Sword Venerable Wei Lan, not Wei Xun. As for whether you still want to speak up for those elders of the Xuantian Sword Sect, you’d better go read the storybooks that have been very popular in the cultivation world these days. They contain quite a few secret scandals of the Xuantian Sword Sect. Heh, all I can say is those sanctimonious old geezers of the Xuantian Sword Sect didn’t suffer unjustly at all.]
What To Do My Junior Brother Licks Me Every Night: [The contents of those storybooks are absolutely reliable! I specially asked the elders of my sect; the various matters recorded within are completely true, without a single bit of fabrication.]
A Good Demon: [Poster, I advise you to sleep with one eye open at night and watch out—don’t let me catch you one day, or I’ll grab you and feed you straight to my blade! ミ●﹏☉ミ]
After Jiang “A Good Demon” Qunyu finished delivering his vicious threat, he still felt it wasn’t enough to vent his anger.
What was most infuriating was that after he spent half a day arguing righteously, the line-up fight he anticipated didn’t happen at all—that poster who twisted black and white actually deleted the post and ran away, vanishing without a trace.
Jiang Qunyu exchanged a glance with the little spirit beside him, nearly fainting on the spot out of sheer anger.
No, wait—the little spirit actually did faint from anger.
Jiang Qunyu spent half a day trying to revive it to no avail, so he threw the little spirit into his Qiankun bag first.
The more he thought about it, the more aggrieved he felt. He immediately split off a strand of spiritual sense, pursuing along the spiritual energy trajectory of the Lingxi Mirror. He secretly resolved in his mind that as long as he caught up to that rumor-mongering cultivator, he would attach his spiritual sense onto the man’s body. He wouldn’t take the man’s life, but he would make him suffer for two full days, so in pain that he’d be bedridden, paying a proper price for spreading rumors!
On the other side, after Wei Xun returned to Jade Capital Tower, he didn’t see Jiang Qunyu.
He thought for a moment, then walked downstairs, indeed spotting Jiang Qunyu sitting on a branch of the apricot tree outside the tower.
The spring apricot blossoms were blooming exuberantly, the entire tree rustling with pinkish-white petals. He sat cross-legged on a thick branch with a face full of gloom, picking leaves and apricot blossoms off the branches as if throwing a tantrum—picking a petal and viciously tossing it downward.
At this moment, a scattered layer had already fallen all over the ground beneath the tree.
Seeing Wei Xun arrive, he still looked listless.
Wei Xun found it strange and asked him: “Why are you unhappy?”
Hearing this, Jiang Qunyu naturally leaped down from the branch.
Wei Xun also opened his arms to catch him, stepping steady only after Jiang Qunyu landed securely in his embrace.
Jiang Qunyu couldn’t bring himself to lose face; he was truly too embarrassed to admit that he had been arguing with someone on the Lingxi Mirror earlier, only to end up infuriated by the other party deleting the post and running off.
Thus, he kept a stiff face and denied it: “I’m not.”
Wei Xun frowned: “Really?”
Jiang Qunyu nodded heavily, his tone resolute: “Really.”
He walked behind Wei Xun, placing his hands on Wei Xun’s back to push him forward: “Why would I lie to you? Didn’t you go to try on the wedding robes just now? How did it go?”
Noticing that he was shifting the topic, Wei Xun didn’t continue pressing. Pursing his lips, he said: “Very good.”
“I tried mine, too; I also think it’s extremely good.” Jiang Qunyu pushed him forward slowly, the gloom in his heart having long been diluted by the joy of their upcoming grand wedding. Counting the days on his fingers, his eyes curved into crescents as he sighed with emotion: “Counting it down, there are only ten days left until we marry again.”
The last time they married, it seemed to be around this time as well. It was just different from last year—last year, he had only just been reborn and hadn’t remembered his past yet when he was dragged by Wei Xun to marry him. Strictly speaking, this time counted as their true wedding.
Because of this, Wei Xun handled everything with extreme solemnity. Not only did he ask the demon priest to select the most auspicious date, but even the gold thread and accessory jade used on the wedding robes were rare treasures he personally traveled far to the deepest abyss of the Demon Realm to retrieve.
The date was set for the fifth day of the sixth month. When Jiang Qunyu heard it, he had been stunned, thinking it was quite a coincidence—the fifth day of the sixth month happened to be his birthday.
Jiang Qunyu always felt that Wei Xun knew this day was also his birthday, because he recalled that, in fact, every year around this time in the past, Wei Xun would send him some little knick-knacks.
Sometimes it was a pastry he had craved for a long time; sometimes it was an exquisite, rare stone with a glossy color; sometimes it was an item he had casually mentioned in passing.
He had never noticed it before because, even under normal circumstances, as long as Jiang Qunyu showed the slightest hint of liking something, he would be able to see it on his desk the next day.
In the past, he had even suspected whether Wei Xun was deliberately showing off to him—who asked Wei Xun to always talk about how many spirit stones he had?
Of course, back then, Jiang Qunyu was also envious and felt perfectly justified every time as he dumped all the gifts Wei Xun gave him into his Qiankun bag—after all, why reject free things?
Besides, he had worked as an employee for so many years, so what if he scammed a few nice things?
Well, the present was different from the past.
He now heavily suspected that this man knew everything from start to finish. He raised his fingertip and lightly poked Wei Xun’s back in front of him.
Walking ahead, Wei Xun paused upon feeling his movement. Turning his head slightly, his eyes were soft: “What is it?”
Jiang Qunyu kept a stiff face and asked: “Wei Xun, do you know what day the fifth day of the sixth month is?”
“The day we marry.”
“And what else?”
Wei Xun went quiet.
Jiang Qunyu said: “How did you know that day was my birthday?”
Wei Xun’s eyes flickered slightly. Pretending not to understand his probing, he reached out, wanting to take his hand to gloss it over.
Jiang Qunyu didn’t let him hold it: “Are you going to tell me or not?”
After hesitating for a moment, Wei Xun confessed honestly: “Back in Mirror Lake City, when you got drunk, I asked you.”
When he put it that way, Jiang Qunyu remembered it as well.
At that time, Cui Mingjin held a banquet, and Wei Xun used the excuse that he didn’t like talking to others to have Jiang Qunyu possess his body.
Jiang Qunyu had actually guessed that Wei Xun was trying to trick information out of him, but he was in a state of giving up completely, so he went along with Wei Xun’s wishes and drank a lot of wine, indeed passing out drunk afterward.
What he thought at that time was that Wei Xun merely wanted to know his identity—there was nothing that couldn’t be said, at worst he’d just disperse into smoke after saying it.
But later he woke up, and apart from a slight hangover headache, nothing happened.
Furthermore, because Yun Shuangjian and Wen Xingyao knocked on the door one after another, he also forgot to ask Wei Xun if he had said anything he shouldn’t have while drunk.
He didn’t expect to hear it again today, over a hundred years later. Jiang Qunyu’s expression turned somewhat peculiar: “…So back then, you got me drunk just to ask my birthday?”
Wei Xun clasped Jiang Qunyu’s hand, answering softly: “Mm.”
Pausing a moment, he added: “I also asked if you would leave me in the future. If you left me, where you would want to go. What you liked to eat, and if there was anything you wanted.”
Fortunately, perhaps because Wei Xun possessed an ice spiritual root to begin with, combined with his identity as half-demon and half-ghost, even though summer was approaching, it wasn’t hot when the two walked hand in hand, so Jiang Qunyu just let him be.
He was momentarily speechlessly: “You…”
To think he thought Wei Xun was plotting some evil trick back then!
Turns out he went all the way around just to ask a bunch of trivial matters?
Pausing, he couldn’t help saying: “Why did you ask all that?”
Wei Xun squeezed Jiang Qunyu’s fingertips, thinking to himself how Jiang Qunyu’s hands could be so soft, before curving his lips: “I don’t know. Back then, I just wanted to ask when the thought came. But later when we read storybooks together, the storybooks said that when you hold affection for someone, you want to know everything about them. Jiang Qunyu, I already held affection for you back then.”
Jiang Qunyu instantly fell silent, not replying further.
With a solemn expression, he broke free from Wei Xun’s hand, took a step forward to stand before him, and raised his hand to touch Wei Xun’s forehead, seriously checking his temperature.
Wei Xun: “?”
“Hiss,” Jiang Qunyu remarked strangely, “You aren’t sick either, so how come you seem like a completely different person?”
Wei Xun asked: “What’s wrong?”
“In the past, you were properly bad through and through,” Jiang Qunyu evaluated in all seriousness, though the corners of his eyes softly relaxed, “How did your words suddenly become so sweet now?”
Wei Xun laughed out of frustration. He reached out to pinch Jiang Qunyu’s face: “But that is truly what I think.”
“Oh.” Jiang Qunyu nodded, pretending to be unfazed, turning around and stepping forward to keep walking.
Wei Xun followed behind him, watching the faint crimson blush rising behind his ears, his lips curving into a smile.
They strolled all the way back to Jade Capital Tower.
The moment he stepped into the hall, Jiang Qunyu couldn’t help standing on tiptoe, quickly pecking Wei Xun’s lips, saying joyfully: “Your reward.”
Wei Xun immediately raised his hand to support his waist, lifting him up slightly so he stepped on the tops of his feet. Bending down slightly, his nose brushed against Jiang Qunyu’s nose, his voice low and affectionate, laced with a touch of bewitchment: “Another kiss?”
“In your dreams.” Jiang Qunyu gritted his teeth, rejecting this request.
Alright, he was feeling somewhat triumphant.
After all, Wei Xun already liked him back then.
However, one thing was separate from another. Last night, the two of them tried a new position, which caused Jiang Qunyu much suffering. Though it was quite intense, it went too deep, so when he woke up this morning, his entire body felt sore and weak, with an indescribable discomfort everywhere.
Especially after seeing his body covered in dense hickeys, Jiang Qunyu’s anger flared on the spot, and he directly kicked the sleeping Wei Xun beside him awake.
Even up until now, Jiang Qunyu still felt lingering fear: “In any case, it’s a no. Who knows if, while kissing, you’ll push your luck and end up rolling onto the bed again.”
Wei Xun’s tone was flat: “I won’t.”
“You said the same thing last night.”
Jiang Qunyu refused to believe half a word. Raising his hand, he simply patted Wei Xun’s hand away, taking half a step back to widen the distance, his eyes filled with resentment.
“Last night, you repeatedly claimed it was the last time. And the result? Your words don’t carry a shred of credibility.”
Having said that, he didn’t bother arguing further with a certain someone, turning directly into the inner chamber. After hastily washing up, he lay down on the bed, raising his hand to release the little spirit, intending to have it read storybooks aloud to relieve his boredom and calm his mood.
The little spirit was still thinking about the post he and Jiang Qunyu saw on the Lingxi Mirror this morning. It had fainted from anger earlier, so the moment it came out now, it hurriedly pressed: “Jiang Qunyu! Did you catch that cultivator who was spouting nonsense?!”
Jiang Qunyu’s eyelids twitched.
He quickly shot a glance behind him with his peripheral vision. Seeing that Wei Xun had just walked out from behind the carved folding screen holding a change of clothes—appearing not to have heard the conversation clearly—he secretly let out a sigh of relief.
He hurriedly reached out to cover the little spirit’s blabbering mouth, forbidding it from speaking further.
Wei Xun took in this entire guilty sequence of actions, a faint trace of laughter passing through his eyes.
When his gaze fell upon the chubby little spirit, the laughter vanished instantly, replaced by a touch of deliberate disgust, his tone carrying malice: “Throw this ugly thing down.”
Little Spirit: “…¥#%!”
Jiang Qunyu almost lost his composure, hurriedly soothing the little spirit’s feathers while urging Wei Xun: “Go on inside!”
Wei Xun let out a cold laugh before entering the inner chamber.
Seeing this, Jiang Qunyu finally let out a sigh of relief. Only then did he release the little spirit, who couldn’t hold back anymore: “Why did you cover my mouth?! You’re just biased! Were you afraid that big devil head wouldn’t be able to win an argument against me, so you covered my mouth to let him call me an ugly thing?!”
Jiang Qunyu felt truly wronged. Keeping a stern face, he shook his head: “No. It’s just that going onto the Lingxi Mirror to argue with those cultivators—don’t you think it’s very embarrassing for demons?”
Hearing this, the little spirit froze for a moment. After reflecting carefully, it drooped its head and nodded: “It seems to make a bit of sense… For this spirit’s grand majesty to actually faint from anger over rumors is indeed embarrassing.”
Jiang Qunyu added fuel to the fire: “Right, right! Spirit Lord possesses such grand majesty! If this matter were spread outside, wouldn’t it lose a lot of face?”
Alright, in truth, it was mainly his face that would be lost.
In order to completely expose the filthy old scandals of the cultivation world that had twisted black and white for years, he had personally taken up the brush, writing a storybook of several hundred thousand words to lay bare all the secret darkness of the Xuantian Sword Sect and Buxu Sect.
Presumably because he possessed some talent in this aspect, the effect was remarkably good.
Quite a few people picked apart the clues, recognizing the hidden allegorical stories within.
Together with Shen Peiqiu later having the Immortal Alliance clarify the previous events, Wei Xun’s reputation had improved significantly nowadays.
It was just that Jiang Qunyu was still very guilty at heart. Mainly, when writing the storybook, in order to highlight the reversal of good and evil and the unfairness of the world, he had deliberately written the young Wei Xun as miserable and desolate—completely inconsistent with Wei Xun’s current persona.
Furthermore, he had a bit of an internet addiction, leading him to love matching up and arguing against rumor-mongering cultivators on the Lingxi Mirror forum. Fortunately, his spiritual sense was powerful, and he excelled at the simulated secret realm gameplay within the Lingxi Mirror; relying on top-tier mechanics, he gathered a massive crowd of passerby fans.
Therefore, whenever he argued with someone, a crowd of cultivators who loved watching him clear secret realms would always rush over at the first moment to back him up, helping him crush his opponents every single time, never losing a single debate.
This was the so-called power of public opinion.
Jiang Qunyu’s mind was wandering with random thoughts. He casually picked up a storybook and tossed it to the little spirit, sending it off to read aloud for entertainment.
Having just been called “Spirit Lord” by Jiang Qunyu, the little spirit was praised into losing its bearings. Dizzily picking up the storybook, it began reading to Jiang Qunyu.
Before long, Wei Xun finished tidying himself up and stepped out of the inner chamber.
Inside the hall, the candlelight flickered, casting a warm yellow glow that gently spilled into the bed curtains. Jiang Qunyu lay lazily upon the bed, his thick, long eyelashes drooping, casting faint small shadows beneath his eyes. The light-colored mole at the corner of his eye was extraordinarily eye-catching amidst the dancing candlelight.
The little spirit was reading the storybook to Jiang Qunyu. Unsure of what part it had reached, it sobbed and shed tears while reading aloud.
Wei Xun stepped forward with light footfalls.
Jiang Qunyu was only lightly snoozing. Hearing the sound of Wei Xun approaching, he sat up bleary-eyed, rubbing his eyes and looking up at Wei Xun.
The depths of his eyes still carried sleepy grogginess, covered with a hazy layer of liquid sheen. The loose collar of his inner garment was slightly open, revealing a patch of glistening white, delicate skin that was glaringly bright under the warm candle.
“You’re done tidying up?” His voice carried a low hoarseness from having just woken up.
“Mm.” Wei Xun also got onto the bed, reaching out to hold him.
Little Spirit: “…”
Are these dog men shamelessly showing off their affection right in front of me now?!
It didn’t want to listen to them talk at all! Nor did it want to eat dog food!
Thus, the little spirit held the storybook tight, flapping its wings to fly away from the bedside. Hiding in the warm pavilion outside, it held the storybook alone, continuing to cry hysterically.
Held in Wei Xun’s arms, it took a long moment for Jiang Qunyu to react: “My storybook.”
Wei Xun felt a sudden wave of displeasure in his heart. Lowering his head, he bit the back of Jiang Qunyu’s neck, gently nibbling it, his tone sullen: “In the past, I was always the one who read them to you.”
Jiang Qunyu pouted: “But when you read storybooks, there’s no emotion at all—dry and boring to listen to.”
Wei Xun: “…”
He asked: “What kind of emotion do you want?”
“At least it should have some cadenced inflection.” Feeling a slight numb, itching sting from his nape, Jiang Qunyu drew in a cold breath. He raised his hand to grasp the top of Wei Xun’s head, his knuckles sinking into his thick, black hair, saying crossly: “Lighter.”
Seeing that he was sleepy, Wei Xun stopped causing trouble, only kissing the side of his neck meticulously before quietly holding him as they lay down.
Jiang Qunyu was already half-asleep to begin with. In that secure and warm embrace, he drifted off before long.
Once he was fast asleep, Wei Xun got out of bed, walking barefoot outside the room.
His footsteps were far too light—so light that the little spirit didn’t notice at all.
It was holding the storybook, reading with relish, turning a page and continuing to flip through with unsatisfied eagerness.
It wasn’t until its prized wings were yanked out by two hands and hoisted up, meeting Wei Xun’s dark, sunken eyes, that alarm bells instantly went off in its head, nearly screaming out loud on the spot: “Ghost—”
Before the remaining words could escape, they were blocked back in by a single look from Wei Xun.
“Shh.” Wei Xun’s jet-black pupils shifted, giving a wicked smile, “Wake him up, and I’ll pluck your wings off.”
Hearing this, the little spirit froze violently. When Jiang Qunyu said such things, it only took them as empty threats. When Wei Xun said such things, it felt this big devil head truly would pluck off its beautiful little wings.
It could only swallow its scream back into its stomach, delivering a threat with a lack of confidence: “I’m going to tell Jiang Qunyu and let him teach you a lesson!”
Wei Xun curved his lips into a smile, saying coldly: “Try it.”
The little spirit wilted instantly, drooping its pair of wings, letting out a resigned sigh: “Fine, fine, what on earth do you want to probe from this spirit?”
Wei Xun tossed it back onto the table of the warm pavilion. Supporting his head with one hand, his other hand flipped through the storybook the little spirit had just been reading, committing the plot inside to memory, intending to read it to Jiang Qunyu tomorrow—that way, this ugly thing wouldn’t steal his job.
He asked darkly: “Why was Jiang Qunyu unhappy today?”
Having regained its freedom, the little spirit hurriedly shook its wings, frantically shuffling backward to open up a distance from Wei Xun.
It hesitated again and again in its heart, conflicted over whether to lay out the whole story. But at the thought of the threat to pluck its wings just now, it still felt that losing a bit of face was better than losing a body of beautiful feathers.
Thus, the little spirit quickly betrayed Jiang Qunyu, saying: “This morning, Jiang Qunyu and I saw a cultivator slander you for no reason on the Lingxi Mirror. Jiang Qunyu argued with that person on the spot, but the other party had no leg to stand on and directly deleted the post and ran away. Both of us were furious.”
Pausing, it simply shifted all the embarrassing matters onto Jiang Qunyu, adding without batting an eye: “Mainly Jiang Qunyu—he fainted from anger right on the spot.”
Hearing this, Wei Xun frowned: “The Lingxi Mirror?”
Right. These past few days, Jiang Qunyu would always stealthily use that thing behind his back.
At first, Wei Xun merely thought he found things a bit boring, planning to head to the mortal realm together after the two of them held their binding ceremony, so he didn’t pay much attention.
It was just that recently, Jiang Qunyu had placed far too much attention on the Lingxi Mirror. A few days ago, he had to play with the Lingxi Mirror for an hour before bed every night, not placing his gaze on him at all.
Wei Xun felt that if this continued long-term, Jiang Qunyu’s eyes would probably only see that Lingxi Mirror and not him.
He originally thought that perhaps he needed to use some methods to force Jiang Qunyu’s gaze back onto him.
However, after hearing the little spirit’s words now, the fact that Jiang Qunyu cared so much about that Lingxi Mirror seemed to be related to him as well.
Having cleared up the cause, Wei Xun paid no further mind to the apprehensive little spirit beside him, turning back into the bedroom.
The youth on the bed slept peacefully, his features gentle. Wei Xun bent over, covering his lips, leaving behind a lingering kiss.
Within his hazy consciousness, a familiar feeling surged up. Jiang Qunyu was so tired his eyes were fighting to stay open, feeling that Wei Xun was far too clingy. A soft moan leaked uncontrollably from his throat, not opening his eyes: “No… still feels a bit uncomfortable.”
Wei Xun rubbed against his nose, placing his hand on his lower abdomen to rub his waist: “Here?”
“Mm,” Jiang Qunyu buried his face in the crook of his neck, speaking muffledly, “a bit higher.”
Wei Xun adjusted his position as requested, patiently soothing his discomfort.
Not long after, sleepiness swept over Jiang Qunyu once again. In his grogginess, he heard Wei Xun ask: “Husband, may I take a look at your Lingxi Mirror?”
Jiang Qunyu didn’t overthink it at all, also forgetting that his Lingxi Mirror contained records of him fighting three hundred rounds against others. Only vaguely hearing Wei Xun calling him “husband” again, he felt sweet in his heart, agreeing without a second thought.
Gaining his “consent,” Wei Xun pulled him into his arms, his chin resting gently against his soft hair, while his other hand picked up the Lingxi Mirror, meticulously looking through his activities over these past days. The hand wrapping around Jiang Qunyu lightly patted his back, soothing softly: “Won’t bother you, sleep peacefully.”
Opening his eyes the next morning, before Jiang Qunyu was fully awake, he bumped straight into Wei Xun’s dark, heavy gaze.
Jiang Qunyu: “?”
With his gaze falling upon the faint dark circles under Wei Xun’s eyes, he couldn’t help asking suspiciously: “Don’t tell me you didn’t sleep at all last night?”
Why did he look like he’d been punched twice by him?
Wei Xun didn’t deny it, only suddenly asking a very unrelated question: “Does your waist still hurt?”
“It stopped hurting long ago.” Jiang Qunyu was left completely bewildered, finding it utterly baffling.
The moment he finished speaking, Wei Xun leaned down and pressed against him.
Amidst the entanglement of lips and teeth, Jiang Qunyu was kissed until his entire body went soft, unable to muster half a bit of strength.
“You…” Jiang Qunyu’s breath turned slightly wild, fully waking up in an instant, hurriedly reaching out to press against his chest, “Stop kissing!”
He threw a minor tantrum, forbidding Wei Xun from kissing him further.
Yet Wei Xun didn’t care, continuing to kiss him anyway. Later, as feelings flared up, Jiang Qunyu was teased into chaos and went along with the flow to mess around.
Except the bed that had just been changed to clean linens yesterday was once again a total mess. Jiang Qunyu’s forehead was soaked with a thin sheen of sweat, a few strands of dark hair sticking messily to his cheek. His whole body felt sore and limp as he glared crossly at the person on top of him: “First thing in the morning, what craze are you throwing?”
Wei Xun pressed closer. Holding Jiang Qunyu, he murmured softly: “Jiang Qunyu,”
“What is it?” Jiang Qunyu’s peripheral vision caught the place where the two connected. Ears flushing hot, he embarrassedly raised his hands to hug his neck, burying his face into his shoulder.
Wei Xun whispered low: “Why are you so good?”
Jiang Qunyu felt even stranger, though Wei Xun’s temperament had always been temperamental in the past as well. Treating it as Wei Xun praising him, he preened proudly: “Naturally.”
Wei Xun murmured softly: “A good demon.”
Jiang Qunyu’s entire body went stiff as a board.
Wasn’t that his ID on the Lingxi Mirror?!
Noticing his suddenly tensed body, Wei Xun felt a slight discomfort inside, chuckling softly: “Relax a bit.”
Jiang Qunyu immediately gritted his teeth in resentment, both angry and embarrassed: “You secretly looked at my Lingxi Mirror last night!”
Wei Xun didn’t deny it, instead in a very good mood: “It was because you agreed to let me that I looked.”
Jiang Qunyu choked, almost unable to catch his breath: “When did I agree to let you?!”
“Last night.”
Jiang Qunyu didn’t want to talk to Wei Xun at all anymore.
Wei Xun found it funny, a soft smile rippling in his eyes: “Jiang Qunyu, in truth, I don’t care about those things.”
The so-called opinions of the worldly people—he had never cared.
As long as Jiang Qunyu liked him, that was enough.
Jiang Qunyu went silent for a moment, suddenly taking a small bite out of his shoulder, saying huffily: “Well, I care.”
He said: “I don’t like others scolding you.”
His voice trembled slightly due to Wei Xun’s movements, but he still uttered every single word very clearly: “Even though you aren’t good, you aren’t bad either. You shouldn’t be scolded for things that aren’t your fault—you can’t be scolded for nothing. I’m unhappy about it.”
Wei Xun curved his lips to kiss him: “Alright.”
