UAAG CH89
In the quiet, dimly lit conference room, Mr. Rayner, with a head of silver hair, stood by the door, coldly lowering his eyes to look at his student. Due to his age, his back was slightly stooped, but his imposing aura of dignity without anger gave him a strong presence. After a long while, he sneered and walked in.
“Do you think you can keep it all to yourself?”
Zhuo Huan’s hand rested lightly on the long table, a black Montblanc fountain pen twirling between his fingers. He raised his eyes to look at the old man. Thor Rayner stopped when he reached the opposite side of the long table. He didn’t sit down, but looked down at him from above, and asked that question.
Zhuo Huan smiled. “I think? Yes, of course I can.”
Mr. Rayner also smiled. “Although federal law is stupid, it’s not stupid to this extent. I used to think the stupidest thing in the world was federal law, but Reid, it’s a pity, I didn’t expect you to be even stupider than it.”
Zhuo Huan: “So?”
Rayner: “The NTSB has the right to investigate any major air crash accident that occurs in US airspace, and the NTSB also has the right to investigate air crash accidents involving US aircraft anywhere in the world. Didn’t you see this information on your first day at McFly?”
Zhuo Huan: “Wow, so where are the people from the NTSB?”
Rayner’s face turned cold, and he called out Zhuo Huan’s name word by word: “Reid Irvin Patrick.”
Zhuo Huan: “Something the matter?”
Rayner: “You can’t keep this plane to yourself!”
Zhuo Huan: “You are welcome to sue me in federal court.”
“You have no right to keep it! It belongs to the United States, it belongs to Rogue Airlines, it belongs to McFly, but no matter who it belongs to, it can’t belong to you!”
“Why not sue me?”
“You will be ruined!”
“Why not sue me?”
“You are hopelessly stupid. I’ll ask you one more time, when will you hand it over?”
“Then why, not sue me?”
Thor Rayner glared at him, slamming the table hard, making the entire conference table tremble. He pointed at Zhuo Huan and said fiercely, “We will, of course we will sue you. The NTSB has already contacted Rogue Airlines and is preparing to sue you. Everyone is preparing to sue you, and McFly will also provide evidence to the court as a witness. As soon as the court opens, this plane will belong to us, and you will lose the lawsuit and have nothing!”
The hand twirling the pen slowly stopped. Zhuo Huan looked coldly at the furious white old man in front of him. The two stared at each other. In the next moment, like many times in the past, Zhuo Huan threw the pen onto the table with a clatter, pushed his chair back, and stood up. “Let me tell you, because suing me takes a lot of effort and a long time. And in the past half month, the stock prices of McFly and Rogue Airlines have fallen by 8 points. Ten million people wrote to the White House demanding an immediate investigation into the Rogue 318 accident, and they marched in Washington Square!”
“Of course you can sue me, you’re warmly welcome. But do you know what I like most about capitalism?”
“I have money, so I can hire the best lawyers. I can tell them what I want, and they will do anything for me for money. Including delaying your court time, including trying every means to seek benefits for me, including making you pay me a large sum of money even if I lose the lawsuit, to cover the salvage costs of the plane, doubled.”
His finger tapped on the cold table surface one by one, the fingertip turning white from the pressure. Zhuo Huan looked calmly and steadily at the old man in front of him. The atmosphere between the two was tense, neither willing to back down.
Zhuo Huan said word by word, “To beg someone, you have to have the attitude of begging. It’s not me begging the NTSB, not me begging McFly, nor me begging Rogue…”
“It’s you begging me. Now I possess this plane.”
“Thor Rayner, did you see the temporary sign at the door when you walked in? Do you need me to read the letters on it for you? It’s called—”
“U-A-A-G!”
The two glared fiercely at each other, neither bowing their head.
At the door of the conference room, Lina held her forehead with a headache, but couldn’t go in to interrupt them.
No one knew how long passed. In such an awkward and stiff atmosphere, someone finally spoke first. Mr. Rayner slowly clenched his fingers, turned his head away angrily, and lowered his voice: “Is this how you talk to me?”
After a long silence, Zhuo Huan’s calm voice sounded: “Sorry.”
Rayner snorted coldly and left, flinging his sleeves: “You’re good, you’ve grown up.”
He slammed the door heavily as he left. Zhuo Huan narrowed his eyes and looked at his back. After a long time, he sat in the chair, took out a cigarette case from his pocket, pulled out a cigarette, and lit it with a click. Amidst the curling white smoke, Lina smiled and said, “Just this once, okay?” Then she helped Zhuo Huan close the conference room door.
Outside the conference room, Old Joseph and Su Fei had been eavesdropping.
After Thor Rayner truly left, the punk teenager swallowed and asked carefully, “What’s the situation? Do RIP and that old man always interact like this?”
Lina laughed. “I don’t know.”
Su Fei scratched his head. “The way rich people communicate is really incomprehensible. Hey Lina, where are you going?”
Lina: “Contacting the NTSB and McFly.”
Old Joseph asked in surprise, “Why contact them?”
Lina smiled slightly. “To discuss cooperation. Didn’t Reid just reach an agreement with Uncle Rayner and confirm that cooperation is starting?”
Old Joseph and Su Fei: “…???”
Are you sure we listened to the same argument?!
When Lina left the temporary headquarters, Fu Cheng had just returned from the salvage site. In the cold winter of December, the temperature on land was colder than in the seawater. He had changed into a light-colored sweater. Greeting Lina, Fu Cheng walked over, thought for a moment, and asked, “What are you doing standing at the door? Why don’t you go in? Why is the door closed?”
Su Fei winked frantically at Fu Cheng.
Old Joseph winked and said, “Reid is inside alone.”
Fu Cheng: “Alone?”
Old Joseph: “He seems to be in a very bad mood. Fu, go coax him?”
Su Fei then remembered. “Right, aren’t you guys dating? Brother Fu, go in quickly and coax him.”
Fu Cheng: “…”
After persuading Su Fei and Old Joseph, the two who wanted to watch the fun, to leave, Fu Cheng pushed open the conference room door, intending to go in and ask Zhuo Huan what was going on. The door was pushed open a crack, and faint light penetrated through the narrow gap. A thought suddenly flashed through Fu Cheng’s mind: “Only one light is on?” In the next moment, his wrist pushing the door was grabbed.
Without any time to react, he was dragged by the wrist, forcibly pulled into the room, and pressed against the wall.
With a bang, Zhuo Huan kicked the door shut roughly.
The man’s kiss fell in the next second. Fu Cheng closed his eyes, reached out to embrace his neck, opened his lips, and kissed back with his tongue. In the quiet, dim room, the ambiguous sounds of saliva and the mutual licking and biting of lips and tongues resounded, accompanied by increasingly heavy breathing. Zhuo Huan’s hand reached directly in from the hem of the sweater. Fu Cheng grabbed his hand, turned his head to avoid his kiss, and said hoarsely, “Don’t.”
The sound of several people walking and talking came from the corridor outside the door.
Zhuo Huan lowered his eyes and looked at Fu Cheng steadily. After a while, he asked dissatisfiedly, “Staying outside for so long without coming in, what were you doing?”
It took Fu Cheng a few seconds to understand his meaning. “I had to let Old Joseph, Su Fei, and the others leave first.”
Zhuo Huan: “Oh, I waited for you for three minutes before you came in.”
Fu Cheng: “…”
Zhuo Huan: “Do you know how to coax someone when they’re angry?”
Fu Cheng raised an eyebrow. “Kiss you?”
Zhuo Huan hooked the corners of his mouth and laughed breathily. “It’s fuck you.”
Zhuo Huan lowered his head and kissed lightly on the young man’s exposed neck. Fu Cheng didn’t push him away. He hugged this person’s waist and said lightly, “Then between fucking me and the black box, you must choose one… which do you choose?”
Zhuo Huan’s body suddenly stiffened. He raised his head. “The black box was salvaged?”
Fu Cheng looked at him calmly. After a long while, he nodded gently.
Zhuo Huan: “Fuck!” He subconsciously went to open the door.
Fu Cheng held down the door handle. “You chose the black box.”
Zhuo Huan looked up at him.
In the dimly lit room, the young man’s handsome and beautiful face was shrouded in a hazy light and shadow. He looked at him quietly, his gaze gentle, his voice also quiet. Both of them knew in their hearts that this black box was incredibly important to both of them, important enough to bankrupt themselves for. Yet Fu Cheng just asked such a question with an incredibly calm expression.
Zhuo Huan smiled, lifted his chin, and kissed him. He could hardly conceal the joy in his heart. This kiss went from light and brisk at the beginning to increasingly intense. Lust, eros—he wanted to knead this person into his own flesh and blood, wanted to fuck him hard, hear him gasp, hear him unable to stop panting out sobs.
This joy was never for one person alone.
It belonged to both of them.
Zhuo Huan: “Tonight.”
Fu Cheng: “…Hmm?”
Zhuo Huan: “Fuck. You. To. Death.”
Zhuo Huan strode out of the conference room. When he reached the office area, Su Fei and Old Joseph already knew the black box had been salvaged. The people from the salvage company carried the glass cabinet containing the black box into the temporary headquarters. Zhuo Huan observed it carefully, not missing a single detail.
Zhuo Huan: “From the outside, the damage doesn’t look very severe.” He turned his head. “Su Fei, take it to Los Angeles tomorrow.”
Su Fei: “Ah, me? Wait, go to Los Angeles for what?”
Zhuo Huan: “Go to McFly Headquarters.”
Su Fei’s eyes widened. “McFly Headquarters? No, RIP, we haven’t been cooperating with McFly all this time. Do I need to remind you that half an hour ago you just had a big fight with McFly’s current chief designer, and he almost beat you to death?”
Zhuo Huan: “Go if I tell you to go.” At this time, Lina also walked over. Zhuo Huan looked up and said to her, “When you go to McFly tomorrow, take him and the black box with you.”
Su Fei: “???”
Lina smiled and agreed. “Okay.”
December 8, 2021. The black box of Rogue 318 was salvaged from the North Pacific waters.
December 10. The NTSB formally established the Rogue 318 investigation headquarters in Seattle. This investigation team, dominated by UAAG, possessed over 500 elite investigators from the NTSB, as well as technical support from McFly Company.
A week later, on December 17, UAAG officially announced that it had finished decoding all the data in the black box.
In the early morning, NTSB Deputy Director Andrew hurriedly flew to Seattle, and McFly Company also sent the relevant person in charge of the ground flight team. When Su Fei got off the plane, it was just 7:00 AM. Having been busy for ten days, he had hardly closed his eyes, staying at McFly Headquarters working with McFly’s technicians to analyze and read the data in the black box.
Walking down the gangway, feet stepping on the earth, the punk teenager looked up at the rising sun in the east. He subconsciously touched his earlobe but didn’t feel his skull earring. Dazed for a while, he remembered that to enter the laboratory, he had taken off all the metal on his body and put it in his suitcase. Including his earrings and necklace.
“Mr. Su, aren’t you going?”
Su Fei suddenly snapped back to reality. “Ah, going.”
A McFly staff member carried the heavy black box, while several others carried the hard drives with the copied data. They had just finished decoding all the data in this black box early this morning and immediately sent a copy to the investigation headquarters. But they still brought the original data hard drives over to prevent any data loss.
Walking in the bright terminal building, the punk teenager muttered softly, “Hey, does anyone know it’s my birthday today?”
However, no one noticed his words.
Back at the investigation headquarters, at 10:00 AM, nearly a hundred senior investigators were summoned to the conference room.
The punk teenager coughed twice, cleared his throat, and soon put on a straight face. When he was serious, he looked somewhat the part.
“First, I have to emphasize that the McFly F485 wide-body airliner was equipped with a total of three black boxes. One was placed in the tail, and two were installed in the electronic equipment isolation bay under the cockpit. This time we found one of the two black boxes in the electronic equipment isolation bay. If there are no questions, we will start looking at the data curves.”
