FIMA Ch24: Well Done

Chapter 24: Well Done

Twenty-Five

The neighborhood where the Xie family lived was a mix of townhouses and luxury apartments.

Apart from small and medium-sized business owners like Xie Chengfeng, most residents were mid-to-senior level managers from large tech companies in the nearby tech park.

When the two arrived at the Xie family’s door, the entrance was pitch dark and quiet, showing no signs of anything unusual.

Xie Qingxiao pouted, “I thought it would be chaotic like on TV, with lots of people moving things. It’s surprisingly quiet…”

Gu Siyuan pinched his cheek, “Isn’t this better?”

Xie Qingxiao snorted, opened the door, and went in. Inside, the lights were bright, and the atmosphere was harmonious, with no sign of decline.

Gong Li was busy serving tea and water, while Xie Chengfeng was eagerly talking to a middle-aged man.

When Xie Qingxiao walked in, the middle-aged man’s eyes lit up first.

Xie Chengfeng also seemed quite happy, “Qingxiao, you’re back?”

Xie Qingxiao nodded and bluntly said, “Dad, didn’t you say over the phone that the family went bankrupt?”

Xie Chengfeng’s expression tensed for a moment but quickly changed to a smile, “You must have misunderstood. It was just a cash flow issue, but it has been completely resolved thanks to Chairman Zhang’s assistance.”

Saying this, he looked gratefully and fearfully at the middle-aged man on the sofa, “Qingxiao, come and greet him. This is Mr. Qiao, Secretary to Chairman Zhang.”

Xie Qingxiao looked at the two men in confusion, managing a dry smile, “Hello, Mr. Qiao.”

Then he pulled Gu Siyuan to the other side of the sofa and sat down.

Gu Siyuan sat down calmly and gracefully.

“And who is this young man?” Secretary Qiao suddenly asked, his eyes sharp as he looked at Gu Siyuan.

Xie Qingxiao frowned and turned to Xie Chengfeng, “Dad, this is my boyfriend, Gu Siyuan. He came over to help after hearing about the family’s troubles, and now I can introduce him to you.”

Gu Siyuan looked up and nodded slightly at Xie Chengfeng, “Hello, nice to meet you.”

“Boyfriend?” Secretary Qiao’s expression changed first, looking angrily at Xie Chengfeng.

Xie Chengfeng hurriedly scolded, “What nonsense are you talking about? Didn’t you say you were focusing on your studies and broke up with Young Master Shen because of it?”

Xie Qingxiao raised an eyebrow, “Yes, but now the college entrance exams are over. Isn’t it normal to start dating again?”

“No way!” Xie Chengfeng shouted, “You must break up immediately.”

Xie Qingxiao looked at him, puzzled, “Please give me a proper reason, or I won’t understand.”

Xie Chengfeng was silent for a moment, then looked at Gu Siyuan with disdain and said slowly, “I remember now. You said his name is Gu Siyuan, your bookish deskmate from school, right? His parents are dead, and he’s dirt poor. Is someone like him a match for our family? Are you planning to do charity?”

Upon hearing this, Xie Qingxiao’s face changed dramatically, and he instinctively glanced at Gu Siyuan first.

Seeing his boyfriend still as calm and composed as ever, with a demeanor unchanged even in the face of Xie Chengfeng’s words, Xie Qingxiao felt slightly relieved.

He then turned to Xie Chengfeng, his tone becoming exceptionally firm, “Dad, it’s the 21st century now. Are you still thinking about arranging marriages? Charity? With your wealth that goes bankrupt at the drop of a hat, Gu Siyuan wouldn’t even be interested.”

Xie Qingxiao thought to himself: Maybe right now Gu Siyuan isn’t wealthier than Xie Chengfeng, but just by standing firm in a cutting-edge industry at such a young age, with a company car at his disposal, it wouldn’t take many years for him to surpass Xie Chengfeng.

Xie Chengfeng, not in the mood to listen to him, noticed Secretary Qiao’s very unpleasant expression and angrily slammed the table, “I don’t know what kind of spell this kid has put on you, but I raised you, and I can’t even make decisions about such matters?”

“Heh…” A laugh suddenly echoed in the room.

Everyone turned their eyes towards the source of the laugh.

Xie Qingxiao looked at his boyfriend, feeling a bit nostalgic as he hadn’t heard such laughter from him in a long time.

Gu Siyuan, with his hands clasped on his knees, looked calmly at Xie Chengfeng and said, “Mr. Xie, let’s not continue with these weak arguments. Why not be straightforward? For instance, what kind of deal did you and Chairman Zhang make involving Xie Qingxiao?”

Xie Chengfeng’s expression changed.

Although Xie Qingxiao had a bad premonition, he only now confirmed it, “Dad, what did you do?”

Xie Chengfeng avoided his gaze.

However, Secretary Qiao, evidently not a patient man, directly said, “Mr. Xie, you’d better explain to your son clearly. Two-legged toads are hard to find, but two-legged people aren’t. Chairman Zhang is the type who hates trouble; otherwise, he wouldn’t have approached your family.”

Xie Chengfeng’s face flushed red.

Hesitating for a moment, he finally said directly, “Qingxiao, Chairman Zhang’s investment in our company to get through the crisis comes with conditions. He hopes you can marry him.”

Xie Qingxiao was stunned, “Who is Chairman Zhang? Why would he know me? I just turned eighteen and haven’t even started college. How can I get married? Are you kidding?”

“To be precise, not marriage, just being a free surrogate.” Gu Siyuan’s expression was as cold as ice, “After all, everyone in A City’s business circle knows that Chairman Zhang of Qinghe Investment is not only notoriously promiscuous but also a habitual domestic abuser, having chased away three wives already. Oh, and this Chairman Zhang is fifty years old this year. Probably due to karma, he hasn’t had any children yet, and now he finally wants to find an Omega with a clean background, high education, and someone he can control to marry and have children.”

This secret information, revealed all at once, changed the faces of the other two people in the room.

“Young man, who are you? Seems like you know quite a lot!” Secretary Qiao began to scrutinize Gu Siyuan closely, feeling he had heard the name somewhere before.

Xie Qingxiao, after listening to Gu Siyuan, was utterly shocked and looked at Xie Chengfeng with a cold smile, “I think you’ve gone mad. I will never agree to such a thing.”

Xie Chengfeng, enraged, pointed at Xie Qingxiao and said, “You won’t agree? Do you want to see our family bankrupt and ruined?”

Xie Qingxiao nodded, “Very much so. The sooner, the better.”

“You ungrateful son!” Xie Chengfeng almost collapsed.

Xie Qingxiao squinted his eyes. After pretending to be obedient and pleasing Xie Chengfeng for so many years, it turned out that Xie Chengfeng still wanted to sell his son for glory. So why should he endure any longer?

Hmph, he was never someone who repaid malice with kindness.

At this moment, there was a knock on the door.

Gu Siyuan tapped his fingers lightly and said in a calm voice, “Mr. Xie, it’s best not to faint so soon; there might be another turn of events.”

Xie Chengfeng sneered, “Turn of events? Can I count on a young kid like you to come up with a solution?”

“This has nothing to do with him.” Xie Qingxiao said as he walked over to open the door.

Soon, he led a young man in a suit and several uniformed police officers into the hall.

One of the officers stepped forward and asked, “Who is Mr. Xie Chengfeng?”

“I am,” Xie Chengfeng immediately stood up, “Hello, and you are?”

“I am from the Anti-Smuggling Bureau, my name is Li.” The leading officer said sternly, “We have seized a batch of smuggled goods today, and according to one of the suspects, part of the funds for the goods was provided by you in collusion.”

Xie Chengfeng’s face turned pale instantly.

On the other side, Secretary Qiao, seeing the young man who had just walked in, was pleasantly surprised and said, “Isn’t this Assistant Xu? What brings you here?”

“Secretary Qiao?” The young man, addressed as Assistant Xu, nodded politely, then looked at Gu Siyuan sitting on the sofa and walked straight to his side, “I’m here to see our CEO.”

“Ah…” Secretary Qiao blinked, as if not hearing clearly, and after a long while, he slowly said, “The CEO you mentioned? The founder and largest shareholder of Yuanxing Technology, Gu Siyuan.”

Assistant Xu nodded, “Exactly.”

Secretary Qiao looked at Gu Siyuan’s excessively youthful face, trembling with disbelief as he pointed, “He… he is Gu Siyuan?”

“Authentic, so Secretary Qiao should be more respectful to our CEO!”

Assistant Xu looked at the finger pointed at Gu Siyuan, his gaze icy.

Secretary Qiao quickly withdrew his hand.

Everyone in the industry knew that Yuanxing Technology was a dark horse legend. In less than a year, it had transformed from a small social website into an unignorable internet giant in the current market.

And its founder was even more legendary. So far, most people had only heard his name but had not seen him.

So, many speculated that he might be backed by overseas Chinese capital or be a descendant of a wealthy family.

No one expected him to be a young man who had lost his parents and built everything from scratch…

“Mr. Xie, please come with us to cooperate with the investigation.” The customs officers were almost ready to cuff him.

“No, no, there is a misunderstanding,” Xie Chengfeng shook his head desperately, his face as pale as a ghost.

He suddenly looked at Gu Siyuan, pleading, “President Gu, President Gu, please explain this.”

Although he was communicating with customs just now, he also heard Secretary Qiao’s words clearly.

As an ambitious businessman, he kept a close eye on market trends and naturally knew how enormous Yuanxing Technology’s capital was.

And such capital definitely had good relations with customs, making bail or other matters much easier to handle.

Gu Siyuan’s mouth curved slightly, just about to speak.

But he felt a light tug on his sleeve. He looked up to see Xie Qingxiao shaking his head at him.

Gu Siyuan’s expression remained unchanged as he politely extended his hand to the customs officers, “Thank you for your hard work, officers. Mr. Xie seems to have some misunderstanding about me. I trust the police and the law will handle this fairly.”

The officers nodded, “Naturally, it is a misunderstanding. In fact, we have to thank President Gu for providing information and assisting in the case.”

“What do you mean…” Xie Chengfeng’s face changed completely, “Gu Siyuan, what have you done? You can’t do this, I am Xie Qingxiao’s father, I am your father-in-law!”

When the two returned to Gu Siyuan’s residence, the moon was already high in the sky.

The balcony’s floor-to-ceiling windows were open, and the summer night breeze gently blew in.

Xie Qingxiao fetched a glass of water and sipped it slowly. Gu Siyuan sat on the sofa, watching him silently.

Xie Qingxiao looked down at him and asked, “Did you know long ago that Xie Chengfeng was involved in the smuggling case? That’s why you were so confident when you came over earlier?”

Gu Siyuan nodded.

Xie Qingxiao asked again, “Was it you who notified customs?”

Gu Siyuan nodded again, his expression still calm, but his heart was a bit uneasy. After all, Xie Chengfeng was Xie Qingxiao’s biological father. He wasn’t sure how Xie Qingxiao felt about this.

Xie Qingxiao put the glass aside, straddled Gu Siyuan’s lap, and hugged his neck, whispering, “Well done!”

Gu Siyuan lowered his head and chuckled softly. Xie Qingxiao never failed to please him.

Xie Qingxiao leaned his head on Gu Siyuan’s shoulder and said quietly, “You know I have two stepbrothers, right? They are only a year younger than me. My mother committed suicide because of his infidelity. I was only three at the time. Xie Chengfeng thought I didn’t know anything, but I actually remembered everything.”

“I endured it all, learned to be the most obedient child in the world, learned how to please Xie Chengfeng. But Xie Chengfeng really has no heart. Before I could even take my revenge, he wanted to sell me. In the end, karma caught up with him, and he got himself into trouble.”

Saying this, Xie Qingxiao suddenly laughed.

Gu Siyuan said nothing, raising his hand to lift Xie Qingxiao’s chin and began to kiss his clear face and thin eyelids.

In their past life, after being expelled from Beichuan and returning home, Xie Qingxiao could have transferred to another school to continue his studies.

However, at that time, Xie Chengfeng was scammed in his business, leading to bankruptcy. To maintain his wealthy lifestyle, he sold out his son, plunging Xie Qingxiao’s life into hell.

In this life, knowing about this early on, Gu Siyuan had people monitor Xie Chengfeng’s so-called business partner.

After an investigation, it was discovered that Xie Chengfeng was actually involved in smuggling antiques and cultural relics overseas. The so-called business scam was just being cheated by someone even more ruthless.

So, he directly submitted the collected information to the relevant authorities.

Yesterday afternoon, customs arrested the smugglers who were planning to flee, successfully recovering the stolen goods and money.

As a part of the domestic smuggling ring, even though Xie Chengfeng was abandoned midway, his attempted crime was solid, and he would face severe punishment.

After a long kiss.

Xie Qingxiao stared directly at his boyfriend and laughed lightly, “But now I finally know that Mr. Gu has such wealth. It seems I really have to let Mr. Gu keep me?”

Leaning back on the sofa, Gu Siyuan lazily pinched his chin and said, “So… what should this kept student Xie do to please me now?”

He had been patient enough, and everything was now ready.

Xie Qingxiao puffed his cheeks, “Then Mr. Gu, don’t disappoint me this time.”

And soon, he knew what it meant to lift a stone only to drop it on one’s own feet.

He felt like a small paper boat in a storm, easily overturned by any wave.

In the end, Xie Qingxiao passed out.

Naturally, the answer to that earlier question was obvious: Gu Siyuan was excellent at everything he did.
