YA Ch131: Alpha Son-in-law (Extra)

Zhang Chenfei couldn’t stop him in time and regretfully curled his fingers. He shook his head and sighed, “A top-tier Alpha is rare even in our Empire. He could become a General, but you’re wasting such a valuable resource.”

In the Imperial Marshal’s eyes, for Ming Yan to want an Alpha to provide a steady supply of pheromones and a deep mark, a weaker one would be better. The weaker the Alpha, the less affected they would be by the Omega’s pheromones. A top-tier Alpha, on the other hand, could control super-powered mechas and become an excellent warrior, and shouldn’t be a plaything for a wealthy heir.

Ming Yan was unmoved. He handed the Marshal a black and gold card, smiling lightly as he said, “He’s just a pampered young master who doesn’t know how to work. He’ll never become a General.”

Lu Yu stood quietly to the side, listening to the two discussing his fate. In his heart, he thought that he could actually be a mechanic. He could arm the Empire with a whole set of light mechas, and have the Imperial Marshal lead an army to swallow the Federation, with the Lu family kneeling before him singing praises of his conquest.

He knew that if he said this out loud, Zhang Chenfei would definitely go to any lengths to take him for himself. But he didn’t say that. Instead, in front of his newly-minted master, he told an obvious lie: “Marshal, my lifelong dream has been to be a kept man. Unfortunately, in the Federation, we’re discriminated against for that. But now I can fulfill that dream, and I’m very happy.”

Zhang Chenfei’s mouth twitched. “Young man, you’re too naive.” He gave Lu Yu a complex look for a long moment but said nothing in the end. After all, everyone has their own aspirations. He put away the card Ming Yan had given him and stood up to see them off.

For the Federation’s major financial heir to venture into the Empire’s black market auction was extremely dangerous. The Imperial Marshal’s personal warship escorted them out of the capital star system, only then switching them over to the Ming family’s vessel.

Inside the Ming family’s ship, the decorations were lavish. Thick wool carpets covered the floors, creating a quiet and warm atmosphere; outside the enormous dome-shaped windows was a vast, boundless starry sky, breathtaking in its beauty.

Lu Yu curiously toured the area before asking Ming Yan, who was sitting elegantly by the window reading documents, “What did you give Zhang Chenfei?”

For the Imperial Marshal to treat him with such respect, personally accompanying him to an underground auction, the benefit must have been substantial.

Ming Yan glanced at him from the documents, “That’s not something you should ask about.” After speaking, he seemed to remember something, taking out the controller for the slave collar from a box. He placed it on his finger like a gemstone ring.

Lu Yu remained oblivious, still pushing his luck: “Let me guess, was it a large amount of Alpha inhibitors? The Imperial Marshal and the royal family aren’t exactly on good terms, and the number of inhibitors the royal family provided this year probably wasn’t enough.”

The Ming family was in the pharmaceutical business, and 80% of the inhibitors in the Federation were produced by the Ming family. This was also why Ming Yan had been able to use special inhibitors for so long without being discovered.

Ming Yan, flipping through his papers carelessly, replied, “You know too much. A clever slave isn’t necessarily a good thing. Originally, I planned to let you go after I gave birth to an heir, but since you talk so much, I might have to bury you.”

Lu Yu swallowed nervously. “G-give birth to what…?” He stammered but stopped speaking as soon as Ming Yan shot him a sharp look. Silently, he squatted in the corner, imagining mushrooms growing around him.

Because Ming Yan, the heir to the Ming family, had always come across as so tough, Lu Yu had forgotten that Ming Yan was actually an Omega—an Omega capable of having children.

On the carpet, Lu Yu drew a large fish, followed by three little fish. He couldn’t help but smile, rubbing his hands together in anticipation. Having children sounded great.

Ming Yan finished reading his documents, massaging his temples, and beckoned to Lu Yu, who had been daydreaming in the corner.

Lu Yu walked over, only to see Ming Yan lower his head and expose a stretch of neck, as white as snow.

“Give me a temporary mark,” he said.

Lu Yu’s breathing quickened, memories of that moment of passion in the changing room flashing through his mind. He immediately moved forward, opening his mouth to bite down, but was stopped by Ming Yan pressing a hand to his chest.

Ming Yan frowned. “Go take a shower first.”

“I already did,” Lu Yu sneered, speaking with sarcastic irritation. “Your assistant practically scrubbed me down until my skin was peeling off. I brushed my teeth three times. If you don’t believe me, smell for yourself.”

As he spoke, Lu Yu leaned in closer.

Ming Yan really did take a sniff, only to be caught off guard when the Alpha kissed him. Startled, Ming Yan immediately pressed the control on the ring.

“Mmph…” Lu Yu let out a muffled groan and collapsed.

Ming Yan reached out as if to help him, but then withdrew his hand at the last second, coldly saying, “Do what you’re told and nothing more.”

Lu Yu, recovering from the intense pain, grew more and more subdued. Once the paralysis passed, he staggered to his feet, obediently biting Ming Yan’s neck.

Ming Yan wrapped his arms around Lu Yu’s neck, eagerly demanding a soothing kiss.

Lu Yu refused, simply standing still while his master clung to him, waiting for Ming Yan to stop, and then respectfully stepped back.

Ming Yan leaned against the table, panting for a moment, shooting a cold glare at Lu Yu. But the beautiful eyes, sparkling with moisture, didn’t hold much menace.

After waiting for a while and seeing that his wooden-headed slave wasn’t making any move, Ming Yan turned and stormed into the ship’s bedroom, slamming the door behind him.

Back at the Ming family estate.

The butler greeted Lu Yu in surprise: “Young Master Lu, didn’t you…?”

In the news, the Lu family spokesperson had announced that Lu Yu had gone missing in the starry expanse while out on a mecha trip.

Ming Yan said to the butler, “There’s no Young Master Lu anymore. From now on, he’s my pet. Call him… Ming Wang.”

Ming Wan? Lu Yu tried to protest: “Don’t! If you name me Ming Wang, I’ll never get to bed. When you say ‘Ming Wang, come serve me,’ and keep repeating it tomorrow, and the day after… I’d prefer you call me Tonight.”

Ming Yan almost laughed but then held back.

The name didn’t sound good to Lu Yu, but the butler immediately understood. “So, just like Young Master Ming Zao?”

Ming Yan nodded.

Lu Yu was shocked. “You have other pets?”

Wasn’t he buying an Alpha slave because he couldn’t use inhibitors anymore? How did he end up with more than one! What a fickle man. It was true what they said—men, whether Alpha or Omega, go bad when they have money.

Lu Yu mentally replayed every palace drama and inner court struggle TV show he’d ever watched. After Ming Yan left, he asked the butler, “Where is this Ming Zao? As a colleague, I think I should meet him.”

The butler’s expression turned odd, but he didn’t argue and led Lu Yu to the edge of a spacious lawn, pointing to a figure playing in the distance. A slender young man was playing frisbee with a black-and-white shepherd dog.

Lu Yu squinted in confusion. That guy didn’t look like an Alpha. Because of hormones, all Alphas without exception are tall and muscular. Alpha is synonymous with strength; unless they were seriously ill, an Alpha couldn’t possibly have such a thin frame.

Why would Ming Yan keep a Beta at home?

The young man saw the butler and walked over with the dog. The butler smiled and asked, “Young Master Zao, did you have fun today?”

Lu Yu extended his hand, intending to greet his future colleague.

The shepherd dog stood up on its hind legs, placed a paw in Lu Yu’s palm, and barked, “Woof!”

The butler said, “As long as you’re happy.”

Lu Yu held the dog’s paw in disbelief and asked, “Your name is Ming Zao?”

“Woof.”

“This is Young Master Zao,” the butler patted the dog’s head and introduced him to Lu Yu, then pointed to the slender man, “And this is Xiao Wang, responsible for playing with Young Master Zao.”

Lu Yu felt incredibly humiliated, gritting his teeth in silent rage. This was a hundred times worse than being part of an inner-court power struggle. Ming Yan had actually treated him like a dog. Hmph! Thirty years the east bank of the river, thirty years the west bank; never look down on a poor young man!

He would make Ming Yan regret this!

That night, after summoning all his strength to use his Alpha advantage to make trouble for Ming Yan, Lu Yu did not get the opportunity to share a bed. Just before going to sleep, Ming Yan called him over only to give him another temporary mark.

Ming Yan’s health was in very poor condition now, unable to use any inhibitors, and was on the brink of losing control at any moment, requiring at least two temporary marks each day. So the next day, he took Lu Yu to work with him.

Lu Yu wore a black mask to hide his face, and the shepherd dog “Ming Zao” followed along, wearing a muzzle to prevent biting.

Squatting in Ming Yan’s office, holding his colleague A-Zao, Lu Yu flipped through the news.

He looked up the situation regarding the Lu family. The Lu family had declared him missing, and his cousins were fighting each other so fiercely for his position that they were almost at each other’s throats. Meanwhile, the Lu family’s light mechas had just hit the market and immediately sold out, but there were no more in production.

Lu Yu sneered. Those fools thought they could get everything by killing him. Little did they know that the light mecha technology wasn’t in any documents, but rather in his mind.

After biting the sweet Omega gland once again, Lu Yu licked his lips, feeling a bit irritated: “Let me completely mark you, and then we wouldn’t have to go through all this trouble.”

Ming Yan buttoned up his collar and replied in a cold tone, “You don’t really have anything else to do.”

“I do have things to do,” Lu Yu squatted in front of him, placing both hands on his master’s knees. “Give me three months, and I’ll hand the entire Lu family to you.”

Ming Yan grabbed the little slave’s chin and lightly stroked it, “Do you want me to set you free?”

“I want to marry you,” Lu Yu said sincerely, “Let me marry into your family. I can sign a prenuptial agreement, giving you all the assets I bring from the Lu family, and I won’t touch the Ming family’s businesses.”

Each temporary mark was torture for him, and he was increasingly losing control over his desire to possess the Omega in front of him. Since the Lu family had no emotional ties to him, he no longer needed to work himself to the bone for them. He might as well destroy the Lu family and come warm Ming Yan’s bed.

Ming Yan sneered, patting Lu Yu’s impossibly handsome face, “Do you think I’m three years old? Stop playing tricks. Before we produce an outstanding heir, you’re not going anywhere. There’s no need for you to hand over the Lu family. Without you, the Lu family will fall out of the ranks of the major financial conglomerates within a year and become nothing but a bunch of paupers.”

Lu Yu asked, “What qualifies as an outstanding heir?”

Ming Yan stared at him intently, leaning in to kiss the corner of his lips, “An Alpha like you.”

Lu Yu frowned. Why was Ming Yan still favoring Alphas over Omegas? That wasn’t good.

A few days later, the news suddenly reported that the chief designer of the light mechas, Yang Chen, had also gone missing. Yang Chen’s family tearfully pleaded in front of reporters: “It must be the Lu family who captured Yang Chen to force him to reveal the core technology of the light mechas!”

Lu Yu panicked. Lao Yang wasn’t just a brilliant technician to him; he was also a close friend. He was desperate and took the initiative to knock on Ming Yan’s bedroom door. “You have to rescue Yang Chen. He and I together are the core of the light mecha technology.”

Ming Yan opened the door, leaning casually against the doorframe, hooking a finger into the collar of Lu Yu’s pajamas. “I’m not interested in light mecha technology. My family’s in pharmaceuticals.”

Lu Yu, being led by the collar to the bedside, was still trying to figure out what to do when suddenly an electric current surged through his neck, knocking him onto the bed. He lay there, paralyzed, watching helplessly as Ming Yan handcuffed his wrists with iron chains.

Ming Yan leaned over, kissing Lu Yu’s well-developed chest muscles. “If you serve me well, I might consider rescuing that Yang fellow.”
