RBNR Ch57: Swear, Baobao
Their vacation was set to start in early March. This sudden decision disrupted several of Qin Bao’s planned work schedules, and Brother Lu had to make arrangements to accommodate it.
The destination was Surilan, a beautiful tropical island. Qin Bao gave up on mobile vacations like cruises and chose a small island near the main island of Surilan, known for its excellent scenery and privacy.
“Check if there’s anything else we need to prepare, so I can inform them to arrange it.”
Qin Bao sent the itinerary to Feng Chengyu.
“You don’t need to worry about clothes and daily necessities; I’ll take care of it.”
Feng Chengyu pulled him close, hugging him. “Baobao, you know what I wear and use?”
Every time this person called him “Baobao,” Qin Bao felt he was being teased by Feng Chengyu. It wasn’t an endearment between lovers, but just because he was young and seemed childish to Feng Chengyu.
Qin Bao, steaming, said, “Nonsense, I’m not blind!”
After all, they’d been married for two years. He should understand Feng Chengyu’s habits by now!
Besides, he had long found Feng Chengyu’s pile of formal wear an eyesore. This was a good chance to buy new clothes. At least for the next half month, he wanted Feng Chengyu to wear clothes he liked.
“Alright, I’ll follow your arrangements.” Feng Chengyu kissed his earlobe. “Why did you choose Surilan? Do you like islands?”
“Yes.” Qin Bao’s Adam’s apple bobbed. “Don’t you like them?”
Feng Chengyu: “I do.”
Scrolling through the album on his phone, Feng Chengyu commented, “Especially this private beach. If we do it there during the day, no one will disturb us.”
Qin Bao: “…”
Help.
How did this pervert think the same way he did!
Once the dates were set, time passed quickly.
Besides buying clothes and daily necessities, Qin Bao also followed a common heat period shopping list from the internet, buying a bunch of things like nutritional fluids, repair balms, chocolate, and other items to replenish energy.
But when he saw items like elastic restraints, Alpha bite guards, and wristbands on the list, Qin Bao felt horrible.
The notes next to these strange items read: “Highly recommended for high compatibility couples with poor self-control.”
Were these things really necessary?
They probably were.
He knew what they were both like!
Qin Bao gritted his teeth and placed the order sneakily. Once everything arrived, he quietly stuffed it into the suitcase, even hiding it from Feng Chengyu.
Throughout the preparation period, Qin Bao was in a state of secret busyness but irritability. If Feng Chengyu asked him anything, he would jump in surprise, say, “None of your business,” and then disappear at lightning speed.
Feng Chengyu was left to enjoy the spectacle.
On the day of departure, Shu Helan drove them to the airport as he was also catching a flight to Yatan to see An Qingyan.
When they parted, Shu Helan hugged them and whispered in Qin Bao’s ear, “Xiao Bao, be careful with your husband. Remember to note the local emergency numbers just in case.”
Qin Bao understood the implication. “…”
Crazy!
Feng Chengyu pulled Qin Bao behind him and said calmly, “Killing someone is a capital offense. If you report it, they’ll arrest you too.”
Shu Helan reluctantly waved and walked away first.
Qin Bao asked, “What did you mean by killing someone is a capital offense?”
“He tricked An Qingyan’s ex-boyfriend into the rainforest and now has to join the rescue team to find him,” Feng Chengyu said. “Didn’t An Qingyan tell you?”
Qin Bao shook his head. An Qingyan didn’t share everything with him, especially regarding relationships. He only vaguely knew that their arguments were usually about exes.
“Will that person be okay?”
He was more concerned about this; if something happened, Shu Helan might end up in prison.
Feng Chengyu said, “He should be fine. That person used to be a mercenary.”
Qin Bao: “…”
He was still worried about Shu Helan.
Due to Feng Chengyu’s special status, they didn’t take the original flight Qin Bao had prepared but instead flew on a private jet. Not only was the entire trip kept confidential, but they also had security personnel accompanying them.
The security team tried to be as unobtrusive as possible, but the anticipated relaxed atmosphere was still somewhat diminished.
This made Qin Bao realize that unlike their wedding anniversary when they went to the forest cabin, due to his elevated status and the tense situation, Feng Chengyu’s personal safety was of great importance. This was not just their trip alone.
In arranging the entire vacation, Qin Bao had only focused on the vacation itself and hadn’t considered the security aspect. It seemed Feng Chengyu had quietly cooperated with his plans.
This was the second time Qin Bao experienced Feng Chengyu’s daily life, after joining the Imperial Council.
Alpha seemed used to this. During the eleven-hour flight, Qin Bao wore an eye mask and slept, while Feng Chengyu calmly read a book, chatted with the pilot who came to greet them, and only took a brief rest.
Upon landing in Surilan in the local morning, two armored cars awaited them. They took one of them to the pier.
On the speedboat, Qin Bao felt a bit dizzy. Rarely resisting Feng Chengyu’s closeness, he curled up in his arms and was given some water.
“I’m not coming again next time,” he murmured, “I hate boats the most.”
“Be good,” Feng Chengyu said, “We won’t be taking a boat when we leave.”
Forty minutes later, they arrived at the small island.
The island had only two buildings: a two-story house at the best scenic spot, exclusively for them, and another at the opposite end of the island for the staff responsible for daily needs. The staff would deliver meals and clean at fixed times each day.
Qin Bao didn’t inquire about where the security personnel stayed; knowing too much might make him more tense.
The weather was hot. As soon as Qin Bao entered the house, he ran upstairs, leaving Feng Chengyu downstairs to communicate with the staff.
After inspecting upstairs, Qin Bao finally relaxed.
The roses and couple’s items he had specifically asked to be removed were nowhere to be seen. The place was clean, with only white tropical flowers scattered around, elegant and refreshing. The good weather in Surilan made his sea sickness disappear.
“… Have a pleasant holiday.”
The staff politely said as they left.
Feng Chengyu turned around and saw Qin Bao coming downstairs.
Qin Bao had changed into another outfit, wearing shorts with his white and straight calves visible, and beach sandals on his feet.
Qin Bao’s eyes sparkled as he met Feng Chengyu’s gaze and asked awkwardly, “What are you looking at?”
“Looking at how good you look,” Feng Chengyu answered naturally.
Qin Bao didn’t deny it; he knew he looked good.
He just didn’t know how to respond, so he said, “I’m going to take a walk outside now. Are you coming?”
Feng Chengyu checked his watch and said, “They’re about to deliver something, and I still need to change clothes. Do you want to wait for me?”
Qin Bao wasn’t waiting.
He told Feng Chengyu, “Then come out yourself,” and went ahead to the beach.
The sun was intense. He walked under the shade of the trees, his heartbeat uncontrollably accelerating, unable to calm down.
The heat period hadn’t officially started yet. He hadn’t taken any suppressants. According to the hormone levels in his body, it should be within a week, though he didn’t know the exact day. However, there were no symptoms yet.
Just coming here for this purpose made him very uncomfortable.
Moreover, being alone all the time felt like… always waiting for some primitive activity.
As he walked, Qin Bao stepped on the foamy waves. Soon, he saw Feng Chengyu also coming out.
Alpha was wearing sunglasses and clothes selected by Qin Bao, with broad shoulders and long legs, not inferior to any male model.
Compared to the elegant and noble politician image, Feng Chengyu now seemed more aligned with the image in family photos, and more in line with the football player persona Feng Chu described.
It was hard to imagine this was the person sitting on the 45th floor of the Imperial Council.
If he hadn’t gone into politics, perhaps Feng Chengyu would be just like this now.
“Come over.” Feng Chengyu brought sunscreen. “Are you just going to run out without sun protection?”
“I’ve applied it,” Qin Bao said, aware of his artist’s self-discipline, and chose to walk in shaded areas.
“Then let me pretend to apply it for you?” Feng Chengyu said with a smile, “Do I have thorns around me? Why do you walk away every time I touch you?”
For these past few days, Qin Bao had only allowed Feng Chengyu to hold him when he was seasick.
He certainly wouldn’t admit it: “No, Feng Chengyu, you’re overthinking.”
To prove there was nothing to it, Qin Bao walked over and took the sunscreen from Feng Chengyu’s hand. “I’ll help you.”
“Thank you.”
Feng Chengyu gladly accepted and allowed him to apply it all over his body.
The sea breeze stirred their hair and clothing.
When applying sunscreen to his neck, Qin Bao caught the scent of Alpha’s pheromones from his neck gland. A strange feeling surged through him, leaving him feeling hollow but fleetingly.
Feng Chengyu asked, “What’s wrong?”
Perhaps the sunglasses covered those dark eyes, Qin Bao, flustered, replied, “You look good. Is that a problem?”
Feng Chengyu, with thicker skin, wrapped his arms around Qin Bao’s waist and pulled him closer. “Then keep looking.”
Qin Bao tapped his arm. “… Let go.”
There were people nearby, likely security conducting an initial sweep of the area.
“They won’t dare pay attention here.”
Feng Chengyu said, lowering his head to kiss Qin Bao’s lips.
The kiss made both their hearts race, but they kept their reason intact, and nothing more happened.
As they walked along the beach, Feng Chengyu held Qin Bao’s hand, their fingers intertwined.
*
That night, they had sex.
It was slow, drawn out for a long time. Feng Chengyu seemed to deliberately slow down the pace, but it was more intense than before, and Qin Bao found it a bit hard to adjust.
Eventually, he even started to get angry.
“Y-you, don’t do that. It’s really uncomfortable…”
“… Just hold on a little longer, Baobao.”
“Get away, you… Feng Chengyu!”
“…”
Qin Bao, usually quite open, found this experience too embarrassing to even speak about.
Afterwards, he didn’t talk to Feng Chengyu, keeping his back turned because he found it hard to accept.
“Baobao,” Feng Chengyu said as he pulled him up and held him close, “It seems you don’t know what a true heat period is.”
Qin Bao glared at him and retorted, “I know!”
Feng Chengyu raised an eyebrow slightly and chuckled, “Is it because of the stuff you packed in the suitcase?”
Qin Bao exploded with anger, not sure when Feng Chengyu had discovered it, and was left speechless.
After a full two minutes, he tried to regain his composure, “So, is it wrong that I prepared for it if you didn’t?”
Feng Chengyu casually replied, “How do you know I wasn’t prepared?”
The next day, Feng Chengyu sent a file to Qin Bao’s phone.
Qin Bao opened it and saw several videos. They seemed very familiar, like the type Xu Tangzhou used to send him!
Feng Chengyu watched these kinds of things?
Had he sent it by mistake?
Driven by strong curiosity, Qin Bao clicked to play the videos. After a few minutes, his mind was buzzing.
He ran to the poolside, loudly demanding, “What on earth did you send me?!”
Feng Chengyu swam over, resting at the edge of the pool with glistening water droplets on his sculpted brow and chin. “Educational material, produced by the family planning department, just more detailed.”
Qin Bao felt like his phone was overheating and was shocked, “This is what you call ‘more detailed’?!”
Feng Chengyu casually got out of the pool and slicked back his wet hair with his fingers. “This version is more detailed and more visually appealing. I’ll watch it with you.”
Since Feng Chengyu said so, Qin Bao couldn’t seem too shocked. “Oh, you should have said so earlier. Well, we should watch it together; I can’t watch it alone.”
They sat on lounge chairs.
Feng Chengyu suddenly asked, “Have you ever watched this before, Xiao Bao?”
“Of course,” Qin Bao replied, knowing Feng Chengyu was referring to the videos. Although he had only watched once with Xu Tangzhou, he didn’t want to admit it, so he answered bravely, “It’s much better than what you sent. What about you? Have you watched it?”
Feng Chengyu answered, “I have. During school, classmates would share them. They were quite open and would even bring people back for live performances.”
So he ended up moving in with Jacob.
What? What kind of trashy classmates?
Shameless.
Qin Bao grumbled inwardly and mumbled, “No wonder.”
Feng Chengyu asked, “What’s no wonder?”
Qin Bao said, “On the night of my coming-of-age ceremony, you didn’t have the ‘rut’.”
In sex education, it’s said that Alpha’s first sexual experience often comes with a ‘rut’, where they have a hard time controlling themselves and usually cannot finish quickly.
Feng Chengyu didn’t have this, and Qin Bao hadn’t cared much at first since it was before he met him.
Later, he felt a bit annoyed because Feng Chengyu was the one who knew about their engagement.
Feng Chengyu suddenly said, “I took medication.”
Qin Bao didn’t understand immediately, “Huh? What?”
“I didn’t have the rut because I took medication during puberty. My hormone levels have remained stable.” Feng Chengyu looked at him, “Xiao Bao, are you jealous?”
Qin Bao immediately realized and quickly denied, “Nonsense! Why would I be jealous?”
Feng Chengyu gave him a gentle kiss on the nose, feeling the tiny sweat beads, and stopped teasing. “Continue watching.”
He rewound the video to the beginning.
The educational material was indeed explicit, and Qin Bao’s face alternated between red and white, but Feng Chengyu remained calm throughout.
Was Feng Chengyu really studying this?!
Qin Bao didn’t want to mention the Omega’s performance in the videos, but the Alpha’s behavior after the rut looked really frightening. Looking at Feng Chengyu’s handsome yet indifferent face, it was hard for Qin Bao to imagine him behaving like that.
“…”
Qin Bao suddenly remembered that when they had just married, An Qingyan had jokingly said that S-class Alpha’s passive rut could be deadly.
It was unclear if it was an exaggeration or literal. In any case, halfway through the video, Qin Bao felt like leaving.
Maybe he should take suppressants after all!
He thought it wouldn’t hurt not to have a permanent mark!
“Don’t be afraid. We’ll practice more,” Feng Chengyu noticed his unease, his tone gentle but his arm around his waist strong, “Like this position.”
That position?!
Qin Bao seriously wanted to look up the local emergency number!
*
During their four days in Surilan, they didn’t have sex every day, but each time Feng Chengyu deliberately extended the time.
However, during these four days, to ensure the heat period would arrive smoothly, they hadn’t bitten each other and used protection, avoiding any exchange of pheromones.
Qin Bao’s craving for Feng Chengyu’s pheromones intensified. He often cuddled up to him, eyes red from sniffing, and Feng Chengyu was also uncomfortable, even using a bite inhibitor in advance.
Finally, on the fifth morning, the persistent emptiness overwhelmed Qin Bao.
There were large wet patches on the sheets. Feng Chengyu picked him up, kissed him, and whispered, “Baobao, we need to leave.”
Qin Bao’s mind was still somewhat clear, “… Where to?”
“To a safer place.”
Feng Chengyu said.
The room was filled with intense Omega pheromones. Qin Bao was attached with gland patches, wrapped in a cool black sleeping bag, like a small worm.
His fingertips trembled, and he was so overwhelmed by the strange tide that he forgot what Feng Chengyu had just said and asked, “… Don’t you like it here? You don’t like it?”
He liked it, so he hoped Feng Chengyu would like it too.
“That’s not it. I really like it. I really like your arrangements.”
He felt Feng Chengyu holding him.
“But there are too many distractions here.”
What distractions?
Qin Bao wondered confusedly.
His vision swayed, and he vaguely saw the ceiling of the car.
Not knowing what Feng Chengyu had given him, he opened his eyes again to see Feng Chengyu’s sharp jawline and the airplane window, outside which was pitch black.
When he finally woke up, he was lying in bed, and the scent of daffodils was overwhelmingly strong, almost making him wet the sheets again.
The first heat period had begun.
Feng Chengyu brought some clean water. Before leaving, he instinctively leaned in and pressed his lips to Qin Bao’s.
I really like… Feng Chengyu.
Feng Chengyu’s eyes were dark as he held him, supporting him. “What should I do? I regret it now.”
Qin Bao couldn’t hear clearly.
Feng Chengyu grasped his hair, making sure Qin Bao looked directly at him. “… I gave you a permanent mark, intending for you to stay forever and not be removed. Will you accept it?”
Qin Bao nodded. In truth, no matter what Feng Chengyu said, he would unconditionally agree.
He really liked Feng Chengyu.
Feng Chengyu tightened his grip but spoke softly, “Swear, Baobao.”
Qin Bao struggled to utter the two words, “I swear.”
Feng Chengyu smiled gently and released him, and Qin Bao immediately kissed him.
They kissed greedily.
The Alpha, already driven to the brink of collapse, picked him up and pressed him against the cold window, which revealed a starry sky.
Qin Bao’s arms were limp, and his skin was unnaturally pink. He couldn’t make sense of his situation or where he was.
All he could vaguely sense was that he had agreed to something very important and felt Feng Chengyu’s hot, pheromone-laden body.
The sharp pain that split his body in two, after many rehearsals, finally came.
