Chapter 59: All My Money Is Yours (School Supernatural) (21)
As Lan Lili was being tied up, these thugs took the opportunity to grope her, causing her to grit her teeth in hatred.
She glared fiercely at the gang leader and loudly demanded, “Why! I hired you, why are you capturing me and He Lei?”
The gang leader approached Lan Lili, touched her smooth cheek with a lecherous smile, and said, “Catching this school doctor is nothing. I just realized that since we’ve already committed this crime, why not make it bigger? After all, your Lan family is famous nationwide. Kidnapping you would fetch a ransom worth hundreds or thousands of times more than what you promised us!”
Lan Lili was shocked by his words. Seeing the thugs’ malicious smiles, she felt a wave of fear. It was only then that she realized how foolish she had been.
A nearby thug with dyed yellow hair, watching Ying Zhao who was tied up but seemed nonchalant, approached the gang leader and asked, “Boss, what about this school doctor? Should we still slash his face?”
The leader looked at Ying Zhao, his fair and handsome face, and smiled, shaking his head. “What a waste to slash his face. Nowadays, rich people love this refined type. Selling him to a brothel would fetch a good price.”
As the leader spoke, he approached Ying Zhao, eyes gleaming with perverse intent. “This school doctor is really good-looking. Although we can’t touch these two students because of their background, we can have some fun with this school doctor first.”
Hearing their boss, the thugs grinned wickedly and moved towards Ying Zhao.
Sensing their malicious intent, a cold glint flashed in Ying Zhao’s eyes. He twisted his wrist, broke free from the two men holding him, and swiftly knocked down those around him.
Even without using his innate powers, Ying Zhao’s combat skills were enough to defeat them, although it was more troublesome.
Despite not appearing particularly strong, Ying Hanyu had been maintaining a rigorous training regimen, making him physically fit and agile, his punches strong enough to cause serious damage.
Thus, under the shocked gazes of Lan Lili and He Lei, Ying Zhao single-handedly fought against a dozen thugs. The thugs, realizing he was difficult to deal with, drew their weapons and knives, attacking him.
The scene turned chaotic, and those restraining Lan Lili and He Lei had to join the fight. Although their upper bodies were tied, Lan Lili and He Lei’s legs were free, allowing them to try to escape.
However, Lan Lili, terrified and panicked, ran aimlessly and ended up near the thugs.
Coincidentally, the thug with yellow hair, trying to stab Ying Zhao, was kicked by him, stumbling towards Lan Lili. Unable to control himself, he fell onto Lan Lili, his knife slicing her cheek, causing her to scream as blood gushed from the wound.
Despite this, Ying Zhao couldn’t afford to be distracted. Unable to use his innate powers, he relied on his combat skills, but still ended up with several cuts and bruises.
He needed to quickly deal with these persistent attackers. Although he had asked Xiao Bai to call the police earlier, it would take some time for them to arrive.
His goal now was to delay them and avoid getting injured further.
Realizing he couldn’t take them all down at once, Ying Zhao switched tactics, fighting and retreating, dragging out the confrontation. Soon, the sound of police sirens filled the air.
The police, responding to reports of armed thugs, arrived in force, surrounding the gang. All the thugs were arrested and taken to the station, and Ying Zhao’s status as a victim was quickly established.
He Lei was detained for hiring thugs to harm someone, while Lan Lili, due to her facial injury, was taken to the hospital.
When Lei Che received the news, he rushed to the police station. There, he saw Ying Zhao, with bruises on his face, a split lip, and several cuts, but still smiling brightly at him.
Lei Che’s heart tightened at the sight. He quickly walked over and hugged Ying Zhao tightly. Knowing that Ying Zhao had been attacked by so many people made his heart almost stop.
He deeply regretted not accompanying Ying Zhao that day, fearing something even worse could have happened to his beloved.
Although Ying Zhao underwent a hospital examination and the conclusion was that he only suffered superficial injuries with no serious internal damage, Lei Che knew that if his lover hadn’t been lucky, had decent fighting skills, and the police hadn’t arrived in time, the consequences would have been unthinkable.
While hugging Ying Zhao tightly, Lei Che clenched his fists. He vowed in his heart to seek justice for his lover.
After bringing Ying Zhao home, helping him wash up, and making sure he took his medicine, Lei Che watched Ying Zhao fall asleep in his arms. He kissed his forehead, his eyes flashing with determination. He got up, sat down at the computer, and began working non-stop.
Meanwhile, in the hospital, Lan Lili, with her face wrapped in bandages, was growing more resentful towards Ying Zhao.
Although her face could be repaired through plastic surgery, she blamed all her misfortunes on Ying Zhao, completely forgetting that she was the one who had hired thugs to harm him.
Lan Lili told her father, Lan Heng, about the incident, deliberately leaving out the part about hiring the thugs and only tearfully complaining that it was Ying Zhao’s fault her face ended up like this.
Lan Heng, being foolish, didn’t think his daughter was at fault. He blamed everything on others and was furious, believing that Ying Zhao had wronged his daughter and that he must seek revenge for her.
Lan Heng not only promised Lan Lili that he would retaliate against Lei Che and Ying Zhao but also arranged for the best plastic surgeon to repair her face, hoping to restore it to its original state.
Hearing her father’s promises, Lan Lili finally smiled through her tears, eagerly awaiting the revenge against Ying Zhao and Lei Che.
However, before she could hear any news of retaliation, the head of the Lan family, Lan Gen, arrived at the hospital where Lan Lili was being treated.
Lan Lili had just finished her facial surgery, and Lan Heng was in her hospital room, chatting happily with her.
Lan Heng did not expect the family head to visit and quickly went over to greet him enthusiastically.
To his surprise, Lan Gen ignored him, walked straight to Lan Lili, and slapped her hard.
Immediately, the newly stitched wound on Lan Lili’s face burst open, causing her to scream in pain, covering her bleeding cheek and rolling on the hospital floor.
Lan Heng was shocked by this but didn’t dare stop the family head. After all, their family was only a branch of the Lan family, barely related, and he could only call Lan Gen his cousin.
Without the protection of the main branch of the Lan family, they wouldn’t be able to stand on their own. Lan Heng himself was not particularly capable.
So, he could only suppress his anger and solemnly ask Lan Gen, “Cousin, what are you doing? Why are you treating Lili like this? Her face just got better! What could possibly have made you so angry?”
Lan Gen, hearing this, turned his head and glared at Lan Heng, saying, “It’s all your daughter’s doing! She had to offend Lei Che of all people. Do you have any idea how powerful Lei Che is? Not to mention his accumulated wealth and connections, he has top-level access to many major websites. With a mere flick of his finger, releasing some damaging information, our Lan family’s stocks would plummet! Moreover, the internet business has been the most profitable for our family in recent years. Do you know that two of our major websites have already been crippled by virus attacks? This is all Lei Che’s retaliation against us! Although he hasn’t joined any black or red hacker groups, all the tech experts in the field admire him. Just a word from him, and hackers would attack our sites, creating all sorts of damaging information online! You fool, and you ask why I’m angry! The entire Lan family is on the brink of collapse because of your precious daughter!”
Lan Heng swallowed nervously, glancing guiltily at his crying daughter.
Just moments ago, he had been boasting to his daughter about getting revenge on Ying Zhao and Lei Che. But now, it was clear they couldn’t do anything and would have to beg for their forgiveness.
Sure enough, Lan Gen quickly said to Lan Heng, “Get your daughter dressed and come with me to apologize to Lei Che and seek his forgiveness.”
He then turned to Lan Lili and said harshly, “Even if you have to kneel, you must get his forgiveness! Otherwise, none of you will stay in the Lan family!”
Lan Lili was shocked to hear this, and her father stood by silently, not daring to speak up for her.
Despite her intense hatred, Lan Lili knew her privileged life depended on her family’s support.
So, with teary eyes, she hastily bandaged her bleeding cheek and followed Lan Gen to Lei Che and Ying Zhao’s house, knocking on the tower’s door.
When the door opened, Ying Zhao raised an eyebrow at the sight of them. With Xiao Bai’s help, he knew what Lei Che had done.
However, he didn’t think his lover’s actions were excessive. After all, people who disregarded others’ lives deserved some form of punishment.
Watching Lan Gen speak endlessly, trying to say nice things, and Lan Lili standing silently with her head down, Ying Zhao still caught a glimpse of the resentment and hatred in her eyes. Lan Gen, seeing Lei Che not responding, looked pleadingly at the seemingly more approachable Ying Zhao. Ying Zhao, however, just smirked and said to Lan Gen:
“If I hadn’t been lucky that day, I might have lost my life. I’m not asking the Lan family to repay with their lives, but I do value my own life. So, I hope you, Patriarch, can also promise that after we let the Lan family go, you will ensure that Lan Lili will leave us alone.”
Upon hearing this, Lan Gen immediately nodded vigorously and promised, “Rest assured, as soon as we leave here, I will send her abroad to be supervised and never let her return to the country. I promise she won’t bother you anymore!”
Lan Lili was shocked to hear Lan Gen’s words, her eyes widening in disbelief. She knew exactly what it meant to be sent abroad.
Having caused such a big trouble, she wouldn’t be sent abroad to enjoy life. According to tradition, Lan family members who committed wrongdoings would be sent to remote, impoverished countries to be supervised, forced to work, and never allowed to return.
Realizing this, Lan Lili finally felt true fear. She immediately lunged forward, grabbing Lan Gen’s arm and pleading, “Patriarch! Patriarch, I know I was wrong! Please don’t send me abroad. I won’t do such things again!”
Then she looked desperately at Ying Zhao and Lei Che, crying out loudly, “Please! Please speak on my behalf. I truly know I was wrong! I won’t ever appear before you again!”
However, Ying Zhao and Lei Che both remained silent in the face of Lan Lili’s pleas. After all, when Lan Lili first planned to harm Ying Zhao, she had no intention of being merciful.
Thus, Ying Zhao wouldn’t waste his kindness on someone like her. They ignored Lan Lili, letting her cry and scream as she was taken away by the Lan family patriarch.
After that, life between Ying Zhao and Lei Che seemed to return to normal. They continued to live happily together, occasionally joined by Lei Ting, making their days joyful and lively.
However, Ying Zhao couldn’t shake the feeling that something was about to happen under the guise of this calm.
He had always trusted his instincts, so he remained vigilant. Especially when he wasn’t around Lei Che, he had Xiao Bai constantly monitor his lover’s whereabouts to prevent any unforeseen incidents.
Through this constant surveillance, Ying Zhao finally noticed something strange about Lei Ting. Although she had always spent time with them, recently, she had been spending significantly more time with them.
Though she still appeared carefree and cheerful, Ying Zhao sensed that her smiles didn’t reach her eyes.
Lei Ting seemed eager to integrate into their lives, making them accustomed to her presence. Sometimes, even late at night, she would come over to drink and chat with them.
She often drank herself into a stupor and slept there. To Lei Che, it seemed like his unreliable sister was treating Ying Zhao as part of the family.
But Ying Zhao keenly sensed an unusual aura around Lei Ting, one that grew stronger over time.
One night, Lei Ting came to their home again, bringing a lot of alcohol. She drank cup after cup and kept urging Ying Zhao and Lei Che to drink.
Lei Che soon got drunk, but Ying Zhao remained cautious. He pretended to be drunk while instructing the system Xiao Bai in his mind to monitor Lei Ting’s every move.
Sure enough, after both he and Lei Che had seemingly passed out, Lei Ting suddenly sat up with a blank expression. She took out a dagger from her bosom and aimed it straight at Lei Che.
In an instant, Ying Zhao reacted, quickly standing up and kicking the dagger out of Lei Ting’s hand. Lei Ting turned to him with an exceptionally fierce expression.
She moved incredibly fast, launching a ferocious attack on Ying Zhao. Her skills were clearly beyond what Lei Ting should have, shocking Ying Zhao.
However, as he felt the energy emanating from Lei Ting’s attacks, Ying Zhao realized that it was the same energy from the Heavenly Dao that had attacked him and his lover in the first world.
He immediately understood that Lei Ting had been possessed by the Heavenly Dao at some point. He just didn’t know how much of Lei Ting’s consciousness remained in her body.
While dodging the Heavenly Dao’s attacks, Ying Zhao couldn’t bring himself to harm Lei Ting, fearing he might kill an innocent person.
The attacks grew more intense, and just as Ying Zhao was at a loss, Xiao Bai, from his consciousness, seized the opportunity to transform into a hornless dragon, wrapping itself around Lei Ting.
Xiao Bai opened its mouth, ready to unleash a white energy ball at Lei Ting. However, golden rays of light emanated from Lei Ting’s body, forming a beam that shot into the sky.
Xiao Bai escaping entity was, of course, the Heavenly Dao itself. Xiao Bai quickly chased after the energy, pursuing it into the clouds.
Ying Zhao, however, couldn’t worry about Xiao Bai at the moment. He immediately supported the now-collapsed, barely breathing Lei Ting. To his relief, he found that her consciousness was still intact.
Due to the Heavenly Dao’s possession, Lei Ting’s life energy had been nearly drained. Without prompt treatment, she wouldn’t survive for long.
Ying Zhao was anxious because he had grown to see Lei Ting as a friend. Moreover, she was Lei Che’s sister in this world. If she died inexplicably, Lei Che would be heartbroken.
Shortly after, Xiao Bai returned to Ying Zhao’s consciousness, looking somewhat dejected. Ying Zhao knew that the pursuit had failed once again.
However, he didn’t blame Xiao Bai, as he clearly felt that the power of the Heavenly Dao seemed much stronger than before. In the previous two worlds, the Heavenly Dao had not appeared. It seemed that it had taken the opportunity to rest and recuperate.
Still, the Heavenly Dao was unwilling to give up the top-tier fortune on his man and was desperate to absorb the fragments of the Vermilion Bird’s soul in the small world, which was why it followed them and took such a risk.
Ying Zhao patted Xiao Bai’s head reassuringly and said, “It’s okay, we’ll have another chance to take down the Heavenly Dao in the future. But for now, Xiao Bai, do you have a way to save Lei Ting? If she dies, Lei Che will definitely be heartbroken.”
Xiao Bai hesitated but eventually nodded and said, “Master, I can save Lei Ting, but it will consume a lot of system energy and violate the world’s rules. If we really bring Lei Ting back to life, we will be punished and downgraded in the next small world!”
Ying Zhao wasn’t too concerned about Xiao Bai’s words. A downgraded world might require more effort, but saving Lei Ting would be worth it.
He smiled and said, “It’s okay. No matter what world it is, we can get through it together. The most important thing now is to save Lei Ting.”
Xiao Bai, hearing Ying Zhao’s command, naturally did not oppose his master’s decision. He straightened up and began to infuse Lei Ting with system energy.
A white glow enveloped Lei Ting’s body, and Ying Zhao could feel her life force returning. Although she hadn’t woken up, Ying Zhao knew Lei Ting was no longer in danger.
He breathed a sigh of relief and gently smiled at Xiao Bai, saying, “Thank you, Xiao Bai. I’m sorry you’ll have to suffer the punishment with me in the next world.”
Xiao Bai quickly shook his head. Ying Zhao had always treated him kindly and never saw him merely as a tool.
Feeling grateful that Ying Zhao regarded him as a partner, Xiao Bai said, “It’s okay, Master. As you said, we should share our hardships and joys.”
Ying Zhao felt a warmth in his heart at Xiao Bai’a words. However, thinking of the Heavenly Dao that had just escaped, he frowned. He knew it would come back someday.
After these two attacks, Ying Zhao realized that the Heavenly Dao wanted to completely escape the control of Jumuang. The fortune and energy contained in the Vermilion Bird’s soul fragments were crucial for its advancement.
It was likely the key for the Heavenly Dao to enhance its energy. It seemed that he needed to be more cautious in future worlds.
With the Heavenly Dao’s escape, all the crises in this small world were resolved. Due to Lei Che’s abilities, the Lan family did not dare to act rashly.
They indeed followed the initial agreement, sending Lan Lili to a very remote place abroad. No matter how much Lan Lili cried and protested, she was not allowed to stay.
Because of Lan Lili’s actions, her father’s branch of the family also faced some suppression. Aside from Lan Lili’s parents, the other members of the family resented her even more.
Lan Lili’s facial wounds, although previously treated, were reopened by Lan Gen’s slap. This made her face difficult to repair in the short term, and later, she suffered an infection during treatment, leaving her with unsightly scars for the rest of her life.
He Lei didn’t stay in the detention center for long, but that night, he realized he had been deceived by Lan Lili. He received a harsh lesson inside and learned his lesson, becoming much more disciplined at school. Ying Zhao didn’t trouble him further.
As for the small-time thugs, they had previous criminal records and received due punishment when they were caught by the police.
After Lei Che graduated, Ying Zhao flew abroad with him to get their marriage certificate and hold a wedding. When Ying Zhao’s tutoring term at Shenglin Academy ended, he didn’t leave.
Since his uncle decided to stay abroad, Ying Zhao discussed with the principal and took over his uncle’s position, becoming the official school doctor at Shenglin Academy.
He loved his tower residence and the peaceful life there. The simple campus environment made him feel nostalgic.
After graduating, Lei Che started his own tech company, but his reclusive nature meant he mostly worked remotely, unwilling to leave Ying Zhao’s side.
They lived together affectionately, just as they had while dating, with Lei Ting occasionally joining them for fun.
In this life, Ying Zhao and Lei Che continued to live happily together. Lei Che’s greatest passion used to be making money, but after being with Ying Zhao, his greatest passion became earning money for Ying Zhao.
Though Lei Che never quite broke his habit of excessive thriftiness, he handed all his finances to Ying Zhao, who managed his food, clothing, and housing. Lei Che was happy to rely on Ying Zhao, feeling like he was living in a honey jar every day.
To allow Ying Zhao to live where he liked, Lei Che made significant donations to Shenglin Academy, so the school naturally wanted their benefactors to stay.
Ying Zhao, loving the campus life, continued to help students with medical consultations and psychological counseling even after retiring.
In their later years, they still lived in the tranquil tower, often strolling hand in hand around the campus.
Sometimes, they would sit by the lake, enjoying the view and the peace. In the end, they both passed away peacefully, hand in hand, with smiles on their faces on a bench by the lake.
