FIMA Ch21: The Gift
When Xie Qingxiao arrived home, Xie Chengfeng had also just returned from his business trip to Tibet. He was in high spirits, chatting with brothers Xie Gaoyang and Xie Gaohan with exceptional enthusiasm. By the looks of it, his business had gone quite smoothly.
Seeing him, Xie Qingxiao called out, “Dad.”
Xie Chengfeng glanced at him: “You’re back?”
Xie Qingxiao nodded: “Mn, I’ll go upstairs to change my clothes first.”
“Wait a moment,” Xie Chengfeng stopped him. “Come over here and sit down. I brought some things back, pick one for yourself. I also happen to have something to tell you.”
Xie Qingxiao paused his steps, narrowing his long, slender eyes.
Then, when he turned around again, his face was already covered in a bright smile: “Okay Dad, thank you Dad.”
He placed his backpack by the stair railing, walked over to the sofa, and sat down. Smiling, he looked at Xie Gaohan sitting opposite him and said, “Xiao Han looks really energetic today. Is that necklace you’re wearing a gift Dad just brought back? Not bad. Oh right, your class should have handed back last week’s monthly exam papers this week, right? How did you do? Did you make any progress compared to last time?”
Xie Gaohan had originally been gloating over his misfortune and watching the show. Hearing his dad’s tone just now, he knew that what he was going to say to Xie Qingxiao probably wasn’t anything good.
Who knew that this sinister guy, Xie Qingxiao, would actually shift the topic back onto him? And of all things, it was the old routine of asking about his grades… this petty person.
Xie Chengfeng naturally turned his gaze toward Xie Gaohan, looking as if he very much wanted to know the answer too.
Xie Gaohan squeezed a dry smile onto his face: “It’s… it’s alright, I guess!”
And this answer was clearly unsatisfactory.
Xie Chengfeng’s expression changed slightly: “You’re already a high school sophomore, how much time do you think you have left to waste? You’re in the same school, how come you fall so far short of your brother? What exactly do you do in school every day?”
Xie Gaohan muttered, “Oh…”
Xie Qingxiao continued very amiably, “Did you get into an early romance at school? Dating is what delays studying the most.”
Xie Gaohan’s face changed slightly.
Although he wasn’t as outstandingly beautiful as Xie Qingxiao, he was considered delicate and cute among Omegas, and there were quite a few people pursuing him. He had indeed been dating an Alpha recently, which was why his grades had even slipped a bit compared to last month.
Now, having his secret hit spot-on, he couldn’t help but glare viciously at Xie Qingxiao.
Xie Chengfeng naturally saw this and immediately lectured, “You haven’t achieved anything in your studies, but you’ve learned how to have early romances! Your brother brought this up for your own good, look at your attitude!”
Gong Li never dared to speak when Xie Chengfeng was angry.
But her heart ached for her youngest son, so she reached out and tugged at Xie Gaoyang’s sleeve, signaling him to help his younger brother.
As Xie Chengfeng’s only Alpha son, Xie Gaoyang’s words held some weight. He hurriedly tried to smooth things over: “Dad, didn’t you just say you had something to tell big brother?”
Xie Qingxiao sneered coldly, casting a glance at him, then looked back at Xie Chengfeng, his tone naturally affectionate: “Right, Dad, what were you going to tell me?”
“Right.” Xie Chengfeng nodded, then angrily scolded Xie Gaohan one last time: “It’s all your fault for delaying my business.”
He looked at Xie Qingxiao: “Ahem, Qingxiao, before I went on my business trip last month, you said you broke up with Young Master Shen. What exactly happened?”
Xie Qingxiao sighed with a complex expression: “Mn, we broke up. Actually, strictly speaking, it’s the exact same problem as with Xiao Han just now. For high school students, especially during the senior year, dating truly delays studying too much. It’s simply impossible to balance both.”
“Moreover, Shen Ting is a young master, his mind is never set. The moment I sat down to study and didn’t have time to accompany him, he got together with other Omegas.”
Hearing this, Xie Gaohan immediately widened his eyes: “Xie Qingxiao, so you were also in an early romance! How did you have the nerve to lecture me just now?”
Xie Qingxiao looked at him with shining eyes: “Yes, so I realized my mistake, and I have already broken up.”
But as Xie Chengfeng listened to these words, he only felt something was very wrong.
Before he went on his business trip, when Xie Qingxiao mentioned breaking up with Shen Ting, he didn’t seem to have this attitude…
He thought for a moment, then finally said after a while, “Although studying is important, Young Master Shen is also a rare talent. Why couldn’t you handle the relationship between the two properly? Since he liked you before, it means he still has some feelings for you. After you go back to school, you should still put more effort into pleasing him, and strive to get back together…”
Hearing this, Xie Gaohan was the first to get furious.
His dad’s double standards were way too obvious! He had just scolded him for only knowing how to date and not study, but for Xie Qingxiao, it was the exact opposite?
He huffed angrily, “Dad, Xie Qingxiao himself said his grades were going down because of dating. How can you still spoil him like this? When the college entrance exam comes, he might not even score as high as me!”
“Shut up! What does this have to do with you!”
Interrupted time and again by this stupid son, Xie Chengfeng also grew angry.
Xie Qingxiao lowered his eyes, the corners of his mouth curling up slightly.
But soon, he looked up at Xie Chengfeng, his expression bewildered: “Dad, Xiao Han actually has a point… Actually, every time Shen Ting asked me to accompany him to play basketball and drink, I wanted to go in my heart. But the moment I thought of you, Dad, I simply couldn’t bring myself to make that decision.”
Xie Chengfeng furrowed his brows deeply: “What does this have to do with me?”
“I remember Dad likes children who study well the most. Ever since I was very little, just starting kindergarten, Dad would hold me and tell me to study hard, strive to move forward, and test into a top university.” Xie Qingxiao’s face showed a look of reminiscence.
“All these years, I have always remembered the words you said, placing them in the most important position in my heart, hoping I wouldn’t let down your expectations. Therefore, I try my best to stay away from anything that would delay my studying.”
Xie Chengfeng looked at his son, his heart actually softening for a moment.
No matter what, Xie Qingxiao had indeed been obedient and sensible all these years, and his excellent academic performance had also given him quite a bit of face and bragging rights among his peers and colleagues.
Right at this moment, Xie Qingxiao clenched his fists and continued, “Dad, especially after hearing you lecture Xiao Han just now, I became even more resolute in my choice. Dad, don’t worry, I definitely won’t forget your teachings from my childhood to now, nor will I let down your expectations. There is absolutely nothing in this world that can stop me from studying for the college entrance exam! Especially not an Alpha like Shen Ting who only delays my studying and is incredibly unfaithful!”
Xie Chengfeng was left utterly dumbfounded by this declaration that sounded like a military pledge.
The key point was, he couldn’t slap his own face and say his past words were wrong. What’s more, that stupid guy Xie Gaohan was glaring from the side, ready to rush up and argue back at any moment…
After a long while, he said slowly, “You are a good child, very thoughtful. Young Master Shen is indeed a bit playful, but…”
However, before he could finish, Xie Qingxiao looked at him with bright eyes: “Yes, exactly! Shen Ting is really greedy and unfaithful. This time, he was the one who cheated and changed his affections first. If he could have been a bit more moral and had a bottom line, I wouldn’t have had to struggle so much. So Dad, why don’t you stand up for me and hire someone to teach Shen Ting a lesson?”
Xie Chengfeng’s expression changed slightly.
His financial power was not worth mentioning in front of the Shen family. How could he, how would he dare do anything to Shen Ting?
“Let’s just forget about this matter. An early romance between two high school students, having parents step in doesn’t look good. It would probably delay your studies then too. At this stage, studying should still be your priority.”
“Mn, Dad, what you said makes sense too.” Xie Qingxiao nodded firmly. “Since that’s the case, I’ll go upstairs to write test papers. The next exam is the joint final exam, I hope my score won’t disappoint you.”
After saying that, he got up and walked directly upstairs.
Sitting on the sofa, Xie Chengfeng watched Xie Qingxiao’s back, always feeling that something wasn’t quite right…
However, at that moment, his phone rang again. It was still that major supplier he met in City B.
Xie Chengfeng quickly had no mind to think about so much anymore. If he could maintain a good relationship with this boss and open up the supply channels, his company might be able to step up to the next level.
Slowly but surely, maybe one day he could sit as equals with the Shen family…
…
The three-day New Year’s holiday passed in the blink of an eye.
Monday morning.
When Gu Siyuan arrived at the classroom, he brought two portions of breakfast with him.
In just three short days, he had automatically developed the habit of taking care of his little boyfriend. However, the feeling wasn’t bad.
Sitting at his seat, Xie Qingxiao saw the things in his hand and instantly beamed with joy: “Did you bring that for me?”
Gu Siyuan nodded: “Who else would it be for?”
Xie Qingxiao didn’t care at all about his cold and reticent demeanor, directly grabbing it and saying, “Thank you, Yuan-yuan.”
Hearing this address, Gu Siyuan felt his throat itching again.
He looked around. It was still very early, and there was temporarily no one else in the classroom, only a few students sitting in the first few rows.
Gu Siyuan turned his head and shot a cold, sidelong glance at Xie Qingxiao’s triumphant appearance.
Looking at him, Xie Qingxiao felt uneasy in his heart: “In broad daylight, what do you want to do?”
Gu Siyuan didn’t even pay attention to his words. With his long arms, he directly pulled the person into his embrace, pinning him down. Then, his hands reached under Xie Qingxiao’s jacket, down to his waist, and began to tickle him.
Mn, this time I’ll let my little boyfriend laugh to his heart’s content.
Xie Qingxiao had delicate skin and tender flesh, and was most afraid of this.
He deeply regretted exposing this weakness to Gu Siyuan a few days ago.
Unfortunately, as an Omega, he had absolutely no room to struggle or resist in front of a powerful Alpha like Gu Siyuan.
The most crucial point was, even though he was dying from the tickling, he didn’t dare laugh out loud. Although there were very few people in the classroom, there were still people…
He rolled around in Gu Siyuan’s lap and embrace, pulling Gu Siyuan’s sleeves with both hands, begging for mercy pitifully. His lips moved soundlessly: I was wrong, I was wrong, Yuan-yuan…
“…” Gu Siyuan looked at him with a cold face.
I completely can’t see how you look like you know you’re wrong.
Xie Qingxiao struggled for a bit longer, and finally ran out of energy. Being small in stature, he curled up pitifully in Gu Siyuan’s embrace, just like a clingy domestic little animal.
Right at this moment, he felt a chill on his neck, and something was slipped over it.
Tsk, I really have become domestic.
He raised his hand to touch it, looking up at Gu Siyuan: “What is this?”
Gu Siyuan coughed lightly, his expression flat: “Mn, a New Year’s gift.”
Xie Qingxiao instantly got his energy back. This was the first gift Gu Siyuan had given him since they confirmed their relationship.
With a swish, he jumped from lying down to sitting up on Gu Siyuan’s lap, hugged his boyfriend’s face with both hands, and planted a kiss on it: “Yuan-yuan, I love you to death.”
“…” In the row behind them, a few students who had just walked into the classroom looked at each other in dismay.
First thing in the morning, so stimulating…
