FIMA Ch20: Part-time Job
The next moment, three figures appeared beside them: Shen Ting, Lu Jiayang, and Huang Cheng. They seemed to have a good relationship and were inseparable.
The one who had just mocked them was, of course, Huang Cheng.
Xie Qingxiao frowned but decided to ignore them. He was out on a date today, and it wasn’t worth letting these people ruin his mood.
Gu Siyuan, on the other hand, acted as if these people didn’t exist, only looking at the receptionist and asking, “Is it necessary to have a reservation today?”
The receptionist nodded politely, “Yes, sir. I’m very sorry, but all our tables are fully booked at the moment.”
Gu Siyuan nodded calmly, “Hold on a moment, I’ll make a call.”
With that, he took out his phone and called his long-uncontacted assistant.
“Hmph, quite the act.” Huang Cheng sneered at Gu Siyuan’s actions.
At that moment, Xie Qingxiao turned his cold, piercing gaze towards him.
Because of Shen Ting, Huang Cheng was somewhat familiar with Xie Qingxiao and always thought he was pretentious. However, he had never seen him look so cold and intimidating, and couldn’t help but feel a chill, his voice unconsciously lowering.
Lu Jiayang, sensing the awkwardness, patted Huang Cheng to smooth things over, “He’s just joking. We’re all classmates. If you don’t have a table, why not join us? We’ve reserved a private room.”
Shen Ting, unintentionally catching a faint whiff of Gu Siyuan’s Alpha pheromone, which had a scent of icy tea, wondered if they had already…
For some reason, he also casually added, “It’s fine; we have room. You can join us.”
This casual remark changed the expressions of everyone present.
Lu Jiayang’s pupils shrank. Normally, Shen Ting would be the first to lose patience in such situations. He was never this kind-hearted.
But now?
Huang Cheng couldn’t help but look at Shen Ting in confusion.
Xie Qingxiao coldly shook his head, “No need.”
He then turned his attention back to his boyfriend, ignoring the others.
Gu Siyuan had already connected the call and was speaking, “I’m at the XXXX restaurant we went to last time. It’s very busy today, and they require reservations…”
“Yes, that one…”
“Okay, please coordinate with them.”
After finishing the call, he handed his phone to the receptionist, “Please listen to this.”
The receptionist took the phone, listened for a moment, then started checking on the computer.
Soon, she repeatedly apologized into the phone, “Yes, that’s right. No problem, I’m very sorry.”
After hanging up, the receptionist returned the phone to Gu Siyuan and handed him an exquisite black card with a bright smile, “Sir, sorry to keep you waiting. Please keep this card; you can show it next time you come.”
Gu Siyuan handed the card to Xie Qingxiao and asked, “So, can we go in now?”
The receptionist nodded, “Of course, we always have private rooms reserved for distinguished customers like you.”
Huang Cheng, unwilling to believe it, pointed at Gu Siyuan and demanded, “You must be mistaken, how could he…”
The receptionist’s smile didn’t waver, “Certainly not, Mr. Gu is one of our most distinguished guests.”
“Retract that.” Gu Siyuan’s expression turned cold as he glanced at Huang Cheng’s pointing finger. He then stepped forward, took Xie Qingxiao’s hand, and said, “Let’s go in!”
As they passed Shen Ting and Lu Jiayang, he said quietly, “Thanks for the offer, but no thanks.”
A faint storm began to gather in Shen Ting’s brow.
Watching the two disappear, Huang Cheng, clearly displeased, muttered, “He’s just a poor kid who lost his parents and lives off scholarships from studying hard. What’s he pretending for?”
Lu Jiayang glanced at Shen Ting and then said to Huang Cheng, “Don’t talk nonsense, let’s go in too.”
On the other side, Xie Qingxiao was stunned by how things had unfolded and only snapped out of it after they were seated in the private room.
He tugged on Gu Siyuan’s sleeve, “You have a lot of connections? Or did you make a fortune in stocks?”
“People I met while doing part-time jobs,” Gu Siyuan replied casually, handing the electronic menu to Xie Qingxiao, “Order whatever you like, it’s on a big spender, no need to save money.”
“Okay.” Xie Qingxiao nodded with a smile, not asking further. Having a bit of mystery makes an Alpha more attractive.
The expensive things here had no flaws except being pricey.
This restaurant’s offerings pretty much fit that description.
Xie Qingxiao initially just wanted to have a date with his boyfriend and casually fill his stomach, but because the food was so good, eating became the main event, and the date became secondary.
However, as a considerate Omega, Xie Qingxiao still took care of his Alpha, serving Gu Siyuan food while eating himself.
“Yuan Yuan, try this.”
Cough, cough! Gu Siyuan was drinking and almost spilled his glass at the sound of that name. He looked up at the person across from him, smiling sweetly, “Speak properly.”
Xie Qingxiao raised an eyebrow triumphantly, his beautiful phoenix eyes narrowing, “What’s wrong? Can’t I call you more affectionately?”
Gu Siyuan looked at him, fell silent for a moment, and then nodded helplessly.
Xie Qingxiao’s smile grew brighter. He was always fascinated by his boyfriend’s cold demeanor, but also loved his occasional helplessness when facing him.
With this thought, he pushed more dishes towards Gu Siyuan.
Gu Siyuan, now fully in the mood, reciprocated by serving him double.
By the end of the meal, Xie Qingxiao looked at the many empty plates and touched the soft flesh on his stomach, his expression changing dramatically.
Had he really eaten that much?
He hesitantly glanced at Gu Siyuan, suspecting that his boyfriend, who had served him the last few dishes, might have been retaliating for the nickname he gave him.
Would he have to start getting up early to jog with him?
Gu Siyuan, completely unaware of his boyfriend’s thoughts, stood up, put on his coat, and said, “Let’s go. Didn’t you want to go out and wander?”
Today was New Year’s Day, and there were various events outside, making it very lively. Xie Qingxiao had been full of excitement on the way here.
Xie Qingxiao looked up at the man standing nearby. The soft yellow light outlined his overly deep and cold features, his long black woolen coat making his tall figure even more striking. He didn’t look like someone their age but rather had a mature, sexy aura and a reliable, steadfast presence.
With this thought, Xie Qingxiao’s smile deepened. He jumped up from his chair and leaped towards him.
Gu Siyuan, afraid he might fall, quickly held him, “You’re this excited over a meal? We can come here again next time.”
“Yeah, let’s go out for a meal every weekend.” Xie Qingxiao pressed his face against his solid chest, breathing in the familiar scent of icy tea, feeling an indescribable sweetness in his heart.
Even if he was deliberately trying to fatten him up, it didn’t matter. With such a boyfriend, what was there to complain about?
Gu Siyuan, not understanding his joy, rubbed his soft hair, “Okay, but for now, let’s get moving.”
“Mm.” Xie Qingxiao jumped down and pulled Gu Siyuan out.
…
The three-day holiday quickly came to an end.
On the last day of New Year’s, Xie Qingxiao prepared to go home.
Gu Siyuan happened to be heading to the company, having not been there for over half a month since the contract signing.
The tech park where the company was located was only a few kilometers from Xie Qingxiao’s home, so they shared a ride.
At this point, the scent of his Alpha pheromone on Xie Qingxiao had faded almost completely.
The taxi stopped in the tech park.
“This is where you do your part-time job?” Xie Qingxiao looked at the building in front of him with curiosity.
“Yes.” Gu Siyuan nodded, “It’s not far to your home from here. Do you want me to go with you?”
“No need.”
Although he really wanted to, a newly marked Omega’s emotions would be fragile, overly dependent on their Alpha.
But reason stopped him. A month ago, he had argued with Xie Chengfeng about Shen Ting. If it came out that he broke up with Shen Ting and started dating Gu Siyuan, it would surely cause trouble, especially since Xie Chengfeng’s disdain for poverty and love for wealth was so obvious.
Seeing his low spirits, Gu Siyuan, recalling the details about his family in the system, said directly, “If anything happens when you get home, call me immediately.”
Xie Qingxiao’s initial anxiety was completely dispelled by his cold yet caring tone. He laughed, “Haha, if someone didn’t know better, they’d think I was going into a lion’s den. Don’t worry.”
Gu Siyuan nodded and didn’t say anything more. He lifted his chin slightly and gestured, “Get in the car, I’ll watch you leave.”
After Xie Qingxiao got into the back seat of the taxi, he suddenly rolled down the window and looked outside.
Before leaving home today, Gu Siyuan had specifically changed into a suit and leather shoes. However, for warmth, he still wore a black overcoat. Standing in front of the tech-savvy building, his whole demeanor was cold and vigorous.
Xie Qingxiao loved seeing his boyfriend in his coat, once again captivated by his aura.
Gu Siyuan walked up to the window, “Hmm, what’s wrong?”
Xie Qingxiao didn’t say anything, just waved.
Gu Siyuan bent slightly, thinking he had something to say. The next moment, he felt a warm and soft touch on his cheek.
“Really leaving now, see you tomorrow!” Xie Qingxiao said earnestly.
Gu Siyuan watched the taxi start moving in front of him, raised his hand to touch his cheek, and couldn’t help but chuckle.
Is this what it’s like to be in love? Actually not bad.
As the taxi was about to turn, Xie Qingxiao couldn’t help but look back again. He vaguely saw someone running out of the building from earlier, then bowing slightly towards Gu Siyuan, starting to say something.
He smiled gently, it seemed his boyfriend was doing well in this part-time job.
