Du Zihan: “If you treat him to another meal, aren’t you afraid you won’t be able to leave?”

Shi Shu rubbed his eyes. “The way he said it, it’s like I really hurt his feelings. Better to part on good terms, with dignity.”

Du Zihan: “Fine, then I’ll escape thirty li outside the city gate first. I won’t accompany you.”

“…………”

Shi Shu glanced at Zihan. At that moment, the system suddenly popped up with a reminder:

【Current world population: 35/100】

Shi Shu looked carefully, not knowing which transmigrator had died, the number reduced by one. He muttered to himself: “To survive more than two years in this world, they must have long found a way to settle down, but the numbers keep decreasing. They probably died in unavoidable natural or man-made disasters.”

“And the title ‘World Co-Lord’ is definitely not something an ordinary person can achieve. Perhaps thousands of ‘hundred-person groups’ are completely wiped out before someone closer to an emperor appears.”

Carefully recalling the powerful figures who emerged over the past two years, there was only Xie Wuchi. Most others probably perished in the wilderness, and those who adapted to the rules were likely also silent.

……The system notification briefly occupied Shi Shu’s thoughts, which he immediately dismissed once he finished thinking.

Shi Shu carried the rice cakes bought from a shop in the city, jogging back to where everyone was gathered. He distributed the cakes and said, “Kids, I’m back! I brought you something good to eat. Try them.”

Du Zihan: “Kids? Great Sage Shi—”

“This is delicious, sweet and soft!” The fishermen from the village unwrapped the lotus leaf packages.

Akan: “I’ve long heard there’s a kind of rice cake in the city, crispy outside and tender inside, fried fragrant and soft. I never imagined it would taste like this. I can’t bear to eat it!”

Shi Shu put his hands on his hips. “See, the world you’ve seen is still too small. I’ll buy you more on the way back.”

The others laughed, looking at Shi Shu with delighted eyes.

Seeing that the camp was all set up, Shi Shu told everyone about staying in the city for another day. They all agreed. As night fell, they slept in the forest.

Thinking of Xie Wuchi, Shi Shu found it hard to sleep. Although he had left decisively and rarely thought of him during his wandering journey, now that they had truly met, he wasn’t made of wood or stone—how could he be without feelings? His feelings toward Xie Wuchi were extremely complicated.

Tossing and turning, unable to sleep, Shi Shu lightly jumped down from the hammock and walked to a nearby hillside. It was late spring evening, moonlight above and below, shimmering on the flowing river, golden light dancing, shadows fragmenting.

Shi Shu walked down the hillside, ran ten laps back and forth until he was exhausted and gasping for breath, then returned to the camp where everyone was sleeping, got back on the hammock and fell into a deep sleep. Xie Wuchi no longer entered his dreams.

Early morning, the crowd woke up.

Shi Shu packed up the tent, biting the rope with his teeth to untie the knots. In his line of sight, Du Zihan rode Akan’s horse and galloped away: “Little Shu, I’m leaving first. I’ll wait for you at Li Family Station thirty li away!”

“…………”

“What’s with him? Running so fast, who does he have a grudge against? The horse’s hooves almost hit my face.” Akan looked puzzled.

Shi Shu: “Uh, you wouldn’t understand.”

Was having a meal with Xie Wuchi that scary? Perhaps Xie Wuchi was now so powerful, with life and death in his hands, that anyone with any grievance would stay far away from him.

Shi Shu stretched, fed Laifu, and strolled leisurely into the city. Treat him to a meal! Shi Shu tossed the silver in his hand up and down. Money—only a few hundred pieces. Yanzhou was a military stronghold with high prices. Shi Shu entered a relatively high-end restaurant: “Boss, how much for your stir-fried dishes?”

The boss beamed: “Here, we eat river delicacies in late spring. The master just caught several baskets of good fish from the river. I can serve you a whole fish feast for three thousand wen.”

“Three thousand wen! Too cheap. Don’t want to eat.” Shi Shu turned his head, furrowing his delicate brows. Who could afford a meal costing three thousand?

The boss laughed and shook his head: “Hahahahaha!”

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to treat Xie Wuchi to something good, but small restaurants offered better value.

Shi Shu arrived at a two-story, decent small restaurant. He first asked for a boiled fish and a few side dishes, then turned to go to the grand command residence. The doorkeeper was extremely enthusiastic when he saw him. Hearing that Shi Shu wanted to treat Xie Wuchi to a meal, he immediately went in to report: “Second Young Master, please wait!”

After a moment, someone came out, called Lin Yan: “Second Young Master, my master is at the military camp outside the city. This servant will go report immediately.”

Shi Shu: “Military camp? Fine. I’m at ‘Zhang Family Restaurant,’ the one near the city gate. If he’s willing, he can come directly to the restaurant to find me.”

“Yes, yes.” The man mounted his horse and rode straight out the gate.

Shi Shu returned to Zhang Family Restaurant, stood in the kitchen and picked a fish to steam, fish head with chopped peppers, fish bones stewed in tofu soup, plus stir-fried spring bamboo shoots, amaranth soup, and a chicken stewed with mushrooms. Shi Shu sat in the main hall on the second floor, waiting boredly.

The relationship with Xie Wuchi was awkward. He didn’t know what kind of scene would follow. Shi Shu felt a bit puzzled.

“Knock knock knock,” footsteps sounded on the stairs. Shi Shu looked up. Xie Wuchi, surrounded by two or three people, came upstairs wearing casual clothes. The fabric and style of his clothes were refined, with embroidered patterns on the cuffs. His whole outfit was understated and clean as he walked to the seat in this simple little restaurant.

“Xie Wuchi, you’re here? Sit, sit, sit!” Shi Shu greeted him.

Xie Wuchi sat down, and the waiter immediately served the dishes. Shi Shu smiled and said: “Treating you to a meal to repay you for helping me twice. I ordered fish, guessing you’d like it.”

Xin Bin and Lin Yan stood far away at the stairway, then went downstairs. The restaurant became much quieter. The waiter serving the dishes didn’t even dare breathe. The downstairs was packed with people. Who would believe the Commander-in-Chief would visit a small restaurant?

Xie Wuchi sat down, straightened his sleeves, and said nothing.

Shi Shu tossed a chopstick in his hand: “Today is purely to treat you to a meal, nothing else. Don’t worry.”

Xie Wuchi looked at the dishes being served, took the menu, and said: “Order a few more dishes.”

“No no no!” More dishes meant no money left! Shi Shu snatched the menu: “No need, enough to eat. Ordering too much would be wasteful. How about ordering more after we finish eating?”

Xie Wuchi’s expression was plain: “Alright.”

Shi Shu squeezed the money pouch in his pocket and changed the subject, his eyes curving in a smile: “You’re doing well now, mixing so well.”

Xie Wuchi: “What about you? Are you well?”

Shi Shu was startled. He didn’t expect the reminiscing to begin, but he was willing to talk: “I’m doing well. After leaving Dasheng Prefecture, I ran around everywhere. First went south with the refugees, practiced medicine to save up travel money, then ran all over the world. Most of the time was on the road. I’ve walked through Taiyin Prefecture, Xingu Prefecture, Shukang Prefecture, Shaoxing Prefecture, many, many cities. Treating it as travel, it’s very interesting.”

Xie Wuchi: “How did you get by?”

Shi Shu smiled: “Travel by day, rest at night. Also met robbers, thieves, and swindlers. But these tricks weren’t too sophisticated for me later on. The funniest was that kind of psycho who suddenly sleepwalked over to fight you in the middle of the night when you were sleeping in a temple together.”

Xie Wuchi: “Were you injured?”

Shi Shu squatted on the stool: “No. Zihan and I believe in one saying: if we can’t afford to provoke, we can afford to hide. Anyway, we run when there’s trouble. Running through graveyards in the middle of the night is really thrilling, much more exciting than horror movies.”

The atmosphere seemed good, the two chatting casually. However, Xie Wuchi lifted his eyelids and slowly repeated a name.

“Du Zihan.”

The waiter brought up the fish tofu soup, steamed fresh fish, and chopped pepper fish head one by one. After Shi Shu “mm”ed, he felt that this name might have triggered him and scratched his head.

“He’s still with you?”

“Yeah…” It’s just that he’s thirty li outside the city now.

“He’s always been with me. Wherever he wants to go, I go; wherever I want to go, he goes.”

Shi Shu felt he shouldn’t mention Du Zihan, but since he already had, he’d stop there and not mention it again. He picked up his chopsticks, ready to eat.

Xie Wuchi’s plain white sleeves revealed half his wrist, wrapped in bandages. After a moment, he asked: “In this year and more with Du Zihan, is it the same as when you were with me?”

Shi Shu sensed the strange atmosphere, embarrassed, and picked up a piece of tofu: “Pretty much.”

Xie Wuchi: “During the day, you walk side by side; at night, you also sleep in the same bed?”

Shi Shu: “Uh, inns are expensive. Sometimes to save money we stay in one room and squeeze together to sleep—”

“Clang—”

Before Shi Shu finished speaking, still thinking about that common room, Xie Wuchi had already stood up. He looked at him silently for a moment, then turned and left. Shi Shu was stunned. It was the first time he had seen what “in an instant, all color drained, turning pale” looked like on someone’s face.

Xie Wuchi hadn’t touched a single bite of the food on the table. He walked downstairs, his clothes fluttering, with Xin Bin and Lin Yan following behind. Shi Shu looked at the full table of dishes, then at his still-clean chopsticks. “Hey?!”

“Angry? Xie Wuchi’s angry?” Shi Shu ran downstairs after him, calling out: “Xie Wuchi, you haven’t eaten yet. Aren’t you eating? This is a whole fish feast…”

Xie Wuchi said nothing, walking forward through the crowd, his back to him.

Black hair hung behind him. Xie Wuchi’s shoulders were straight. Guards hurriedly lowered their heads and followed. He walked forward with no intention of turning back.

He’s jealous. Xie Wuchi’s jealous. Shi Shu followed behind him, saying unconvincingly: “Don’t be like this. You have to eat. Such a big table, not eating would be too wasteful… I said I’d treat you to a meal, and you haven’t even taken one chopstick.”

Shi Shu understood: the reason was simply that Xie Wuchi was jealous and left the table. The market was very lively with hawkers’ cries filling the air. Shi Shu followed behind Xie Wuchi, helpless. Seeing his clothes flutter as he walked toward the city gate, not listening to calls, Shi Shu simply reached out his hand: “Xie Wuchi.”

His hand caught the gauze on his wrist. Was this Xie Wuchi’s wound? Shi Shu’s intention was to stop him, but when his hand touched the other, warmth transmitted.

Unexpectedly, Shi Shu’s vision suddenly went dark.

The system’s text and voice surged into his mind in an unstoppable form.

【Known Transmigrator: Xie Xun】

【Merit Value: 60% (Most Valuable Player)】

【Friendliness Value: Extremely High】

【Kill Difficulty: Extremely High turned… Low】

【System Assessment: There were only white roses in the world, but when the deity chased his lover, the blood from his pierced soles dyed the petals red; the nightingale sang of love in the forest, blood from its pierced throat dyed the rose red… The rose is a cage woven from thorns—kill the opponent, win first place!】

Shi Shu’s heart fell silent, as if in an icy wilderness. He abruptly withdrew his hand, the remaining warmth on his fingertips dissipating, looking at Xie Wuchi before him.

Xie Wuchi’s kill difficulty had become low—when Shi Shu touched his body, the difficulty suddenly dropped.

Shi Shu raised his handsome eyes. Xie Wuchi’s figure stood in place, the city gate tower behind him, blue bricks and gray tiles. His brows and eyes cast shadows, still saying nothing.

Lin Yan said carefully: “Second Young Master, please don’t be angry with the Lord! This servant dares to advise, you two should quickly return to the shop to eat. The Lord hasn’t eaten a single bite since seeing the Second Young Master the day before yesterday!”

Shi Shu: “What?”

Lin Yan said: “The Lord has a bad stomach. He hasn’t eaten for three days, has been drinking medicine. Second Young Master…”

Shi Shu turned to look at Xie Wuchi. He still said nothing, only pulling his wrist back into his sleeve, his lips pressed even colder and tighter in a tiny movement.

Shi Shu understood the system’s meaning. Xie Wuchi’s feelings for him had reduced the extremely high kill difficulty to extremely low. Xie Wuchi’s affection for him was his weakness, his Achilles’ heel.

Shi Shu was incoherent: “Xie Wuchi, don’t you have a bad stomach? Eat first.”

Xie Wuchi lowered his eyes, looking away: “I’m returning to the military camp. There’s urgent business to handle.”

Shi Shu: “I’ll see you off.”

Xie Wuchi’s eyes turned to look at him. Shi Shu averted his gaze.

…Shi Shu was also a bit puzzled. Logically, it should stop here, but he seemed to be under the devil’s temptation. While distracted, he heard Lin Yan say: “Call some brothers, go eat at the shop, don’t waste it.” When he came back to his senses, he was sitting in a carriage.

The carriage headed to the military camp. Sitting in the same space as Xie Wuchi, Shi Shu still thought about the system. After hesitating, he asked: “Why do they call me Second Young Master? They’re so respectful to me. I’m not used to it.”

Xie Wuchi: “In name, you’re my younger brother.”

Shi Shu: “This title, didn’t we fight over it at Xiangnan Temple? It’s still being used, and it’s useless again.”

“Not so easy to remove,” Xie Wuchi’s voice was slow. “You’re my younger brother. You share my glory and disgrace. My honor is yours, my authority also applies to you. Especially since today’s Son of Heaven also obtained the throne through brother succeeding brother.”

Shi Shu immediately recalled this matter: “King Han, how did he succeed?”

Xie Wuchi looked at the scenery outside the window, his glass-like eyes seemingly covered in ice-gray, turning his gaze away: “Emperor Taikang was poisoned to death.”

Shi Shu froze, his heart quiet, listening to him speak.

Xie Wuchi: “After the success at Dasheng Prefecture, I returned to the Eastern Capital to present the victory and lobby His Majesty. Dasheng Prefecture’s geographical location has political significance. This battle was won quickly, taking first place, turning defense into offense. The court’s war faction began to emerge. However, His Majesty was indecisive, unfit for use, always hesitating from time to time.”

Shi Shu: “Then… you guys…?”

“King Han, when he was still heir apparent, had a desire for power. Who doesn’t want to become an eternal emperor? To seal the wolf at the dwelling. Great Jing has suffered enough humiliation. So King Han bribed the palace maids and eunuchs beside His Majesty to poison him. Although a eunuch tasted it and he escaped death, His Majesty became worried, seeing bow shadows in cups, acting in panic.”

Xie Wuchi’s tone was like narrating something irrelevant. In terms of power, he was chillingly cold-blooded.

“Then he had the ministers submit memorials, petitioning to make King Han the Imperial Younger Brother, lest the court fall into chaos after the Emperor’s death and the state’s foundation be lost. However, less than three months after the appointment, Emperor Taikang was truly poisoned to death.”

Shi Shu’s back felt cold: “Was this also orchestrated by you?”

Xie Wuchi: “As long as the purpose is just, any means can be used. My purpose is to unify Jing and Min, become emperor. And people like King Han, everyone has demonic thoughts in their hearts. Once incited, they magnify into wildfires. King Han also had desires, so he adopted this scheme. I just went along with the trend.”

Since parting, this was the first time Shi Shu sat with Xie Wuchi. Hearing these words from Xie Wuchi, another sentence echoed in his mind.

—One day, you realize that the close friend you spent day and night with is actually your greatest rival in your career. The friendship forged fighting side by side will begin to twist and rot, until no feelings remain, only the pursuit of power.

These past few days, Shi Shu had been recalling this sentence repeatedly.

“We’ve arrived, Lord,” the guard said.

Shi Shu woke from his dream, jumped off the carriage. Before him were the camp and the Commander-in-Chief’s military tent. In this year and a half, Xie Wuchi had risen to the sky, entered officialdom, inevitably establishing his own office and household, already having dedicated trusted servants to attend to him, as well as a guard team, even an army to protect his safety.

As soon as Shi Shu walked to the Commander-in-Chief’s tent, servants immediately stood joyfully outside the tent: “Second Young Master!”

Some even wiped tears: “Second Young Master, finally found the Second Young Master!”

“Quick, quick, Second Young Master, please!”

Everyone treated Shi Shu as Xie Wuchi’s younger brother.

Brother succeeding brother, Xie Wuchi’s authority and glory were all projected onto this younger brother.

—If Xie Wuchi established himself and then died, a single edict would transfer all his power to Shi Shu. This was blood inheritance between brothers.

“World Co-Lord…”

Shi Shu stood at the tent entrance, looking at the clear “Xie” character on the flying dragon banner. Taking a step forward, he actually tripped on the threshold.

“Second Young Master, are you alright, Second Young Master!” Someone hurriedly supported him.

Shi Shu stepped inside: “I’m fine.”

Xie Wuchi, with your methods, reaching this position, is it just a matter of time?

Shi Shu’s mind was in chaos. He had finally found the way home. Xie Wuchi achieved his goal, became emperor. Relying on his feelings for him, kill him, and then he would win.

“………………”

Shi Shu stood at the tent entrance, surprised at this thought of his—does everyone have demonic thoughts? Is this his own demonic thought, the demonic thought of going home?

Shi Shu entered the tent. Servants quickly brought the medicinal soup to Xie Wuchi’s desk.

Shi Shu sat down. A servant came up and asked: “Lord, shall we serve the meal?”

Xie Wuchi pressed his lips, not expressing an opinion. Shi Shu said: “Bring it in.”

Xie Wuchi likes him. Even the most heartless person could feel it.

…Strange, being liked by a man. In TV dramas, using feelings is always between men and women. Shi Shu understands the word “use,” but never thought about using a man’s feelings.

Before the food was served, Shi Shu saw the medicinal soup on the table and said: “Xie Wuchi, drink the medicine first. Don’t you always have a bad stomach? These past few days—”

Halfway through, Shi Shu stopped. He was doing this for himself.

Xie Wuchi sat motionless. Shi Shu hesitated, then picked up the medicine bowl and said: “Take a sip.”

Xie Wuchi: “No need.”

But Shi Shu placed a spoonful of brown medicinal soup before his eyes. Xie Wuchi pressed down on the paper and brush beneath his hand, opened his lips, paused for a second before taking the spoon, his gaze meeting Shi Shu’s directly for the first time without avoidance.

Strange.

Xie Wuchi’s brows and eyes were born noble and cold, dark brows and long eyes. When shadows fell under his lashes, there was a hint of gloom, the whole person seeming dark and unpredictable. So at first, Shi Shu always felt he looked at people like they were dogs.

Now, Xie Wuchi looked at him, and Shi Shu had no thoughts.

His arms began to feel weak. It was hard to ignore the fact that Xie Wuchi was a man and had feelings for him. It was very awkward. Shi Shu averted his gaze and scooped another spoonful of medicine for him.

The pure white porcelain spoon, brown medicinal soup, and his opened lips. Shi Shu’s discomfort reached its peak. He lowered his head, focusing solely on feeding the medicine.

After only three to five spoonfuls, Lin Yan brought up the meal from outside and placed it on the desk. Shi Shu handed the bowl to Xie Wuchi: “Drink quickly, finish it and eat.”

Xie Wuchi took the medicine bowl and drank it to the dregs at the bottom.

Shi Shu turned his gaze to sit at the dining table, eating while also thinking aimlessly. Xie Wuchi’s sex addiction problem was still there, right? How did he get through this past year? If he stayed by his side and finally seized power through his favor, would he still have to satisfy Xie Wuchi’s physical needs?

Now satisfying his physical needs shouldn’t be like before—brothers edging, kissing, hugging. He’d have to be fucked by him, right? Like those two monks at Xiangnan Temple, or the guards and eunuchs during the three thousand miles of snow post stations, one pressing the other, moving hips and shaking ass.

“…”

Be fucked by him for a few years, then kill him and go home…

“…”

Shi Shu grabbed his head: Sigh.

But he could go home, not stay here.

Shi Shu and Xie Wuchi didn’t speak, only the sound of chopsticks clinking against bowl edges, like gold and jade. The two ate their meals quietly until they finished. Shi Shu said: “I’m leaving, Xie Wuchi. Thank you for your hospitality.”

Xie Wuchi’s jade chopsticks stopped abruptly. Shi Shu’s throat rolled. Did I say too much? Xie Wuchi’s lips turned pale. He looked at him for a moment but said nothing. But Xie Wuchi began to cough, covering his lips with a handkerchief.

When they met at the plank bridge three days ago, Xie Wuchi had returned from hunting, his body robust. Yet in three days, his complexion grew worse day by day. Hearing these words, all color drained from his face, leaving only his eyes gradually filling with bloodshot red.

Xie Wuchi turned to the side, his throat seeming to choke on blood foam.

Shi Shu shot to his feet: “Xie Wuchi! Someone, come quickly!”

Lin Yan entered. Xie Wuchi walked to the inner sleeping area. Shi Shu heard violent coughing through the screen.

Shi Shu stood there, not knowing what to do for a moment. He walked into the sleeping area. Xie Wuchi’s face was gray, sitting in a pearwood chair drinking water, his whole body seeming to sink to the bottom of the sea.

This was the first time Shi Shu had seen a man like this for him. When his roommate had a breakup, he cried for a few days then went back to gaming. Xie Wuchi was healthy and robust, yet now he was torn apart like this within days.

Xie Wuchi’s handsome face was pale, his eyelashes drooping weakly, eyes lifeless. Seeing Shi Shu, he slowly took out a bag of silver from the cabinet: “Take it and go.”

Shi Shu: “Huh? No need to give me money. I don’t want it.”

“I hope you can live a few more days.”

Shi Shu: “I don’t want it. Where I live, I don’t need that much money. Your body…”

Xie Wuchi: “I’m fine.”

“Anyway, I don’t want the money. To be specific, I haven’t returned those two hundred taels to you yet.”

Xie Wuchi was silent for a long time before hoarsely saying: “Shi Shu…”

Shi Shu didn’t know what to say. He really wanted to say something but truly didn’t know what. Someone happened to report outside: “Lord, General Tao requests an audience, has important matters to discuss.”

“Go down first, wait.” Xie Wuchi clearly had no strength left, but sat up from the chair: “I’ll go out first.”

Shi Shu saw him walk slowly, stepping out from behind the screen. Shi Shu followed out. Xie Wuchi was bent over the desk, sunlight covering him,不知道是 resting or reading documents.

Xie Wuchi… Shi Shu went out. The General Tao seeking an audience had a short, sturdy figure, entered the door. Shi Shu turned his gaze. Song Sinan was still standing outside, in silver-white battle robes, sweating and panting: “Xie Shi Shu! I heard you came to the military camp and rushed to see you.”

Shi Shu forced a smile: “Then you came at an inopportune time. I’m preparing to leave.”

Song Sinan laughed: “Perfect, I’ll see you off.”

Shi Shu walked out of the camp. Thinking of this urgent General Tao, he asked: “Who is he?”

“An old subordinate of Feng Chongshan. These people, seeing they can’t get anything good from Feng Chongshan anymore, have privately contacted Lord Xie one after another. Who knows what they’re secretly planning.”

Shi Shu: “Now is the time for war generals to rule the world, and Feng Chongshan is on his last legs?”

“Exactly. Seeing Lord Xie eating well and rising to the sky, how could Feng Chongshan’s old subordinates be convinced? They all want to fight. Lower-level generals all want to fight, earn military merit. At worst, if they lose, they can make a comeback. Only peace advocates don’t dare to fight. If they lose, they have to take responsibility. This Feng Chongshan is still making trouble for the Lord.”

Shi Shu thought: So that’s how it is. Xie Wuchi was able to quickly integrate into the military region, with more and more generals under his command, probably for this reason.

—Everyone has demonic thoughts in their hearts. Playing with people’s hearts, mental control, manipulating situations—these have always been Xie Wuchi’s methods.

Song Sinan blinked, asking kindly: “Why don’t you stay? What did you brothers argue about?”

Shi Shu changed the subject: “Hey, this is a long story! If you really want to know the reason, I’ll tell you. Actually, I have a bad habit. I sleepwalk, you know? When I sleepwalk, I might grab a knife and hack at people. When I was little, I hacked to death a pig my brother had raised for half a year. For my brother’s safety, that’s why I left. I’m also being considerate, understand?”

Song Sinan: “Really? You’re lying, right?”

“Believe it or not.”

“…”

As they talked, Shi Shu also reached the city gate. The Qin Village grain escort camp was in the deep forest not far from the fork in the road. As Shi Shu approached, he didn’t expect the camp to be surrounded by many people. The county magistrate was also there. Seeing Shi Shu, he bowed: “So it’s the Second Young Master. This official has been disrespectful, disrespectful!…”

Not to mention the county magistrate, even the township head at a lower level bowed respectfully to Shi Shu: “This humble one, this humble one has offended…”

Shi Shu’s smile stopped at his brows: “What Second Young Master?”

Even the villagers asked with glowing faces: “Little Shu, you’re actually the Commander-in-Chief’s younger brother!”

Shi Shu searched among the crowd. Two white-clad figures arrived—it was Xu Hengfeng and Xu Hengmen, both holding fans and putting on airs, smiling: “Second Young Master, heard the Second Young Master reunited with Lord Xie early on. Xu has come first to carry your luggage for you.”

Shi Shu’s mind felt stuffy. Xu Hengfeng said: “So the Second Young Master was lost in Qin Village in Bin County last year. Thank you, fellow villagers, for your care! What kind of place is Qin Village? We travel the mountains and rivers, yet have never been there.”

Shi Shu’s mood was complicated. Akan carefully said: “Little Shu… Second Young Master, you…”

“…” Shi Shu’s heart thumped.

Now he had become Run Tu and the master.

Alei’s father looked cautious, seeming at a loss with Shi Shu, and laughed dryly.

Shi Shu sighed, his thoughts becoming clearer. The peach blossom spring is beautiful, but not a place to stay long. One cannot escape.

Shi Shu showed a sunny smile, his handsome face fair and clean: “That’s right, I found my brother! Thank you for taking care of me in Qin Village. Go home. Come find me to play when you have time.”

Shi Shu turned to Song Sinan: “I’m not leaving.”

Song Sinan: “Huh?”

Shi Shu: “I’ve decided to stay.”
