Xie Yuanxing felt that something was very wrong with Shen Bianye.

With the heavy workload of the third year of high school, Xie Yuanxing wanted to experiment more but couldn’t find a suitable opportunity. He waited and waited until the evening self-study session ended.

When he got home and saw his phone, he remembered he could ask directly using his other identity.

He opened the chat interface with Shen Bianye. At the top were a few lonely messages sent by Shen Bianye that morning.

Ruan Xing: “What type do you like, gege?”

X: “Baby ignores me all day, and the first thing you ask when you show up is what type I like?”

Ruan Xing: “Shh, gege knows studying is important.”
Ruan Xing: “I have classes during the day.”

He said it with righteous confidence, without a trace of guilt, and even with a hint of dissatisfaction. “You still haven’t answered my question.”

X: “I like your type, baby.”

Xie Yuanxing frowned. Wasn’t that the same as saying nothing?
The perfunctory words of a scumbag.

Ruan Xing: “No, you have to be more specific.”

X: “A cute, penguin-like Omega.”

Although differentiation only happens when one comes of age, the prediction made at birth was almost ninety-nine percent accurate. This predicted differentiation result would follow them until adulthood.
So, even if he hadn’t truly differentiated, there was nothing wrong with Shen Bianye saying that.

Xie Yuanxing looked at the sentence, then trotted over to the full-length mirror in the living room and stared at himself for a long time.
He framed his face with his hands, then pinched his waist to measure it.
A small face and a thin waist, how could he be associated with a penguin?

After thinking for a moment, he took a photo and sent it to Shen Bianye using his main account.

Xie Yuanxing: “If you had to use an animal to describe me, what would I be like?”

He wasn’t at all afraid that bringing up the topic of animals in such a short time would arouse Shen Bianye’s suspicion.
If his guess was correct, Shen Bianye already knew that Ruan Xing was him.
This was a game where both sides had their cards on the table, but neither would call the other out.

Xie Yuanxing’s competitive spirit and a bit of mischievousness were sparked. He wanted to win, to tease Shen Bianye and win this game.
The heating was on in the house. He had taken off his down jacket. In the photo, he was wearing a white sweater, looking soft and beautiful, with black hair, black eyes, and a black beauty mark under his eye.
Like the twinkle of a star in a white night sky in an inverted world.

Shen Bianye opened the photo, his finger tapping on the beauty mark, a trace of greedy desire appearing in his eyes.

Shen Bianye: “A peacock, I guess. Why?”

A peacock and a penguin seemed to have nothing in common.
But Xie Yuanxing still felt that Shen Bianye liked him.
This was the result he got after his simple experiment.

Xie Yuanxing: “No reason.”

He put down his phone to wash up, all the while pondering how he could use this knowledge to tease Shen Bianye.
First of all, he absolutely, absolutely had to get revenge for the self-criticism he had to write.

A nascent plan to torment Shen Bianye slowly formed in his mind. Xie Yuanxing rinsed the foam from his mouth, returned to his room in a few steps, and prepared to message Shen Bianye.

X: “Baby?”
X: “Baby asked, I answered. Why isn’t baby talking?”
X: “Ignoring me again?”
X: “Baby, you tell me. Besides studying, how many things are more important than me?”

Ruan Xing: “Just went to wash up.”

X: “Next time baby goes to do something, can you let me know first?”

So needy.
Xie Yuanxing muttered to himself as he typed.

Ruan Xing: “Okay.”
Ruan Xing: “But gege said you like penguin-like Omegas?”
Recalling a meme he saw online, he deliberately picked a fight. “Are you saying I’m very fat?”

This sentence was completely baseless because, up to this point, “Ruan Xing” had not sent Shen Bianye any photos.
But he said it with righteous confidence.

X: “Baby was wearing a hat and scarf, you looked like a baby penguin.”
“Very cute.”

Ruan Xing: “So you still think I’m fat, wrapped up like a ball, is that it?”

X: “Baby, I didn’t mean that.”

Ruan Xing: “That’s exactly what you meant.”

Xie Yuanxing pressed his lips together, enduring the goosebumps as he threw a fit. “I don’t care. I’m angry.”

Shen Bianye seemed very helpless. He sent a voice message, his voice gentle and coaxing, yielding softly. “Baby, I just thought you were very cute, that’s why I said you were like a penguin.”
“If baby doesn’t like it, I won’t say it next time, okay?”

For some inexplicable reason, Xie Yuanxing was so pleased by the coaxing that his tail practically puffed up. “Is a flimsy ‘next time I won’t’ enough?”
“You’re not paying enough attention to me!”

Another voice message. Shen Bianye’s voice on the other end was still gentle, without any impatience. “Then I’ll apologize to baby.”

Ruan Xing: “Apologize plus a 3,000-word self-criticism.”
“Without sincerity, I won’t forgive you.”
“A soft one, take a picture and show me when you’re done.”

He had been punished with a 1,000-word self-criticism, now it was his turn.
It was very mean, like a poisonous mushroom that was fearless because it knew it was liked.

Shen Bianye saw it and clicked his tongue. So demanding. So cute.
He knew he couldn’t get past this without writing a self-criticism, so he agreed readily. “Okay, whatever baby says.”

Ruan Xing: “After you finish the apology and self-criticism, don’t message me.”
Ruan Xing: “I’m not going to talk to you.”
Ruan Xing: “Kitten glaring.jpg”

Shen Bianye coaxed him, sending a quick “Okay” over. “Okay, baby, don’t be angry.”
As he said this, he pulled open a drawer and took out a pen and paper.
It was now 11:30 PM. A 3,000-word self-criticism should be finished by 2:30 AM.

Shen Bianye turned on the desk lamp. His hand with its well-defined knuckles held the pen, seriously starting to write a somewhat ridiculous self-criticism caused by the word “penguin.”
The tip of the pen glided across the paper. If one looked closely at the words, one would see that every line was filled with submission.

…..

When the early morning alarm went off, Xie Yuanxing sat up dazedly, reaching out to turn off his phone’s alarm. He saw the message that had popped up.
Xie Yuanxing had seen the messages Shen Bianye sent yesterday morning too; he was just too lazy to reply.
He thought this morning would be more of the same, like “morning,” but when he tapped it open, the sleepy person was startled awake.
Four photos, each filled with words.
The handwriting was excellent, strong and powerful, with sharp strokes. Even on the last page, the characters hadn’t changed a bit, showing no signs of perfunctoriness from beginning to end.

X: “Is baby awake? I finished the self-criticism.”
X: “Don’t ignore me, baby.”

He checked the time it was sent.
6:00 AM, just a short while ago.

Xie Yuanxing looked in disbelief, even rubbing his eyes. His delicate eyelids turned slightly red from the rough action, but he was completely unaware, rubbing them a couple more times.
It really was a 3,000-word self-criticism. Shen Bianye actually finished it in one night?!

Xie Yuanxing had only told Shen Bianye to write a self-criticism; he hadn’t demanded it so quickly. Although he was deliberately tormenting Shen Bianye, he wasn’t so malicious as to deprive him of sleep.
He sent a message with a hint of guilt. “What time did you write until last night?”

Shen Bianye replied quickly, as if he had been waiting.
X: “Baby’s awake? Didn’t write for long.”
X: “Don’t worry.”

Xie Yuanxing wasn’t worried. He just felt a little guilty. Just a little.
He roughly glanced at the several full pages of the self-criticism and found that Shen Bianye had written this somewhat ridiculous piece very seriously. The wording and sentence structure were excellent, and he had even used literary allusions.
Not even a fool would believe this was written in a short amount of time.

Xie Yuanxing: ……

He reflected on himself. Shen Bianye had gotten him a reprimand and made him write a self-criticism. Because of him, Shen Bianye had stayed up late and written an even longer self-criticism.
That should be enough. Let’s just call it even.
He and Shen Bianye didn’t have any particularly deep grudge against each other.
The thought of teasing Shen Bianye, which he had yesterday, dissipated with the little bit of guilt that rose from Shen Bianye staying up for who knows how long.
Xie Yuanxing was also a third-year high school student. He naturally knew how tiring a full day of classes was. This was more than just staying up late.

He felt a little bit of guilt, but not much.
He didn’t plan to apologize. Instead, he sent a message: “Didn’t write for long?”
“Then something written so quickly is just perfunctory. You don’t care about me at all.”
“Let’s break up.”

After typing these words with guilt and haste, Xie Yuanxing blocked Shen Bianye’s VX account with the fastest speed of his life.
He knew doing this was a bit much, so he decided not to seek revenge anymore. He and Shen Bianye would keep to themselves and spend the last year in peace.

…..

When Xie Yuanxing walked into the classroom at his usual last-minute time, Shen Bianye’s gaze passed over the people in the front rows and looked towards him. His expression was calm, everything as usual.
Xie Yuanxing breathed a sigh of relief and also walked over naturally, sitting down in his own seat next to Shen Bianye.

Since he had decided to keep to themselves, Xie Yuanxing deliberately avoided unnecessary interactions with Shen Bianye.
For the entire morning, the two of them had spoken no more than three sentences combined.

It wasn’t until the bell for the last class of the morning rang that Shen Bianye looked at him, his eyes dark, his tone calm. “Are you going back to the dorm at noon?”

Xie Yuanxing shook his head. “No.”
Although he was a day student, he also had a bed in the school dormitory.
Xie Yuanxing would always rest in the dorm for a while during the lunch break every day. He and Shen Bianye shared a dorm room, with just the two of them.
He had been avoiding Shen Bianye all morning; there was no reason to go back to their private dorm room at noon.

Shen Bianye: “You should still go back for a bit.”
“Someone came over to our dorm last night and spilled a drink on your bed.”

Xie Yuanxing frowned. “Who? So inconsiderate.”

Their dorm had bunk beds, with a small desk in the middle for them to sit at to do homework or place books. Xie Yuanxing was lazy and didn’t want to climb up to the top bunk all the time, so he had made his bed on the bottom.

Shen Bianye casually said a name, “Zhou Chao.”

With no other choice, Xie Yuanxing followed Shen Bianye back to the dorm after eating, asking as they walked, “Where’s Zhou Chao?”
“What’s wrong with him, does he have Parkinson’s? Can’t even hold a bottle of soda steady?”
“Did he sit on my bed? Didn’t I tell you, no one is allowed to touch my bed. You didn’t watch it for me at all.”
“How could you do this? You clearly promised me.”
“It’s not good to go back on your word.”

Xie Yuanxing’s unhappiness was written all over his face, his lips pouted enough to hang an oil pot from. He grumbled indignantly all the way.
He rushed into the dorm straight to his bed. Seeing it was clean, he was stunned.

He turned around and almost bumped into the person who had appeared behind him at some point. Startled, Xie Yuanxing stumbled back, his legs hitting the edge of the bed. He lost his balance and fell onto the bed.
“What are you doing?!”

Shen Bianye’s lips curled up. “Did I scare you, baby?”
“Sorry, I didn’t do it on purpose.”
His knee pressed between Xie Yuanxing’s legs. He loomed over him, his body almost completely covering Xie Yuanxing. “Baby also thinks that one should keep their word, right?”
“Then baby said we were dating but then wanted to break up. Baby said you wouldn’t be angry if I wrote the self-criticism, but then you blocked me directly. Baby has broken your word twice.”
“How do you think you should be punished, baby?”
“How about a spanking, baby?”

Just being blocked on VX wasn’t enough to make Shen Bianye angry.
All morning, Xie Yuanxing had been unwilling to say a single word to him. He had keenly sensed it. Xie Yuanxing didn’t want to play anymore, and even wanted to distance himself from him.
How can that be, baby?
Absolutely not.
Since a gentle approach doesn’t work, then let’s be direct.

Shen Bianye smiled, his eyes flashing with excitement. “If baby doesn’t want a spanking, you can also choose something else.”

Everything happened so fast. Xie Yuanxing couldn’t react in time and subconsciously followed his words, asking, “What else?”

Shen Bianye: “Let me kiss baby’s beauty mark, okay?”

Xie Yuanxing was stunned and surprised, blurting out, “No.”

Shen Bianye’s gaze was scorching, fixed on him, his tone low and strange. “Why not? Aren’t we dating, baby?”
