DKIE CH49: Elf Island

Holy Court.

To the north of the Holy Court, a special area where the sun cannot shine, it snows all year round.

A huge tree like ice and snow stood between heaven and earth. Countless dense, translucent branches and leaves covered the sky. It looked so holy, and the veins of the leaves were like chalcedony.

Any life standing under this tree would feel as if it had returned to the womb.

Part of the roots, which stretched for thousands of miles, grew on the ground. The woman praying quietly under the tree had silver hair scattered, and she was wearing a snow-white cloak.

The entire space was a uniform white of sea and sky.

A man in a divine robe suddenly appeared behind, nodding slightly, “You were looking for me?”

This man was already a great priest of the Holy Court, with a transcendent status, but his attitude towards the woman was still very respectful.

All the snowflakes were suspended in mid-air in an instant. Time actually stood still for a moment.

The Saintess slowly stood up. Her innate holy aura was the natural enemy of the undead, “You go to the elven race in person and be sure to bring back one thing.”

The great priest, who was listening quietly, his expression became extremely solemn when he heard the next sentence.

“This is the meaning of the Tree of Life. No mistakes are allowed.”

The great priest took a solemn oath, promising that he would never disappoint the Holy Court.

But a trace of difficulty also appeared on his face, “The Elf King probably won’t easily grant our wishes.”

That one’s power was already so strong that he could kill the Beast King at will.

The snowflakes suspended in mid-air had the power to purify everything. When they began to fall again, the Saintess came over, “The Elf King will soon not be a threat. I already have a way to deal with him. You just need to do as I say.”

As she spoke, a white porcelain jade bottle appeared in her palm.

She whispered a few words, and the priest’s eyes gained a bit more luster after hearing them.

Snow was still falling between heaven and earth. There was no life around the ever-withering Tree of Life. The Saintess returned to the tree and prayed quietly.

“Two tickets are actually so expensive.”

The prices in the Holy City were no joke. After buying the tickets, Luka habitually bought some space scrolls. In fact, with his current ability, he didn’t need so many at all.

But… it was just fun.

As a person with mild persecution delusion, he gained a full sense of security in the process of hoarding.

Under the gaze of the shop owner, who seemed to be wondering how many enemies he had, Luka prepared to return to the guild hall.

The ferret disliked the bombed-out environment of the guild hall and was nowhere to be seen all day. When he arrived at the room, only Quill Pen was waiting alone for him to have breakfast.

Quill Pen: “Have you sent the manuscript?”

He hoped for the manuscript to be exposed more than Luka, to ‘bless’ all beings.

Luka nodded, stirring the magic beans in his cup and asking, “Is it okay for your human form to follow?”

Speaking of which, Alex was the culprit behind the division of the elven race.

Quill Pen adjusted the black glove on his right hand’s skeleton and calmly mentioned the past, “It has nothing to do with me. It was the early light elves who held a foolish naivety towards the outside world.”

He had only bought those tortured elves from the auction house and used them.

The elven race was so proud. Forcing them to sign a low-level blood contract was not something that could be achieved by threatening their lives.

“Forbidden potions can greatly enhance strength, but they will change their light attribute.”

He didn’t need to intervene in the subsequent events. The dark elves believed that power was the path to salvation and incited other members of their race to change their attributes. Unfortunately…

Quill Pen narrowed his eyes, “In the later stage, I let them go for revenge. The dark elves began to launch bloody hunts in various places. This also became one of the reasons for my failure.”

A few words passed over a period of turbulent and treacherous years.

Luka sighed as he listened. Alex was definitely a tyrant with both strength and means.

Unfortunately, tyrants were destined to be overthrown.

Quill Pen, however, was not sad because of the mention of the past.

He was more focused on the present. His memories were recovering in chronological order, and the part with Luka was still a long way off.

“In that era, both my supporters and opponents have almost all passed away.”

Necromancers liked to be in the company of darkness. Cloaks and masks were standard.

Luka breathed a sigh of relief. Then there was indeed nothing to worry about.

While eating breakfast, Luka seized the time to learn about the elven race, found the ferret, and finally went to see the Saint.

For the sake of his life, he made some other arrangements after the meeting.

“I’d like to ask you for a few favors,” he said, and though he said “a few,” they were all easy. For the Saint, it was just a matter of moving his lips.

The Saint did not refuse.

Luka hesitated for a moment and asked, “In your eyes, what kind of personality does the Elf King have?”

He had to find a way to cater to his preferences.

The Saint smiled.

“I know some secrets about him, but I can’t say. you have already made preparations. Being too prepared will seem insincere.”

That made sense.

Luka trusted the other’s judgment, did not entangle further, and stood up to leave.

The Saint thought for a moment and finally reminded, “Remember, the Elf King is like a peculiar and beautiful flower, pursuing spiritual civilization over material civilization.”

Luka understood in a second. He’s a weirdo.

The Saint was pleased and had the law enforcement captain personally send them to the human race’s ferry.

The smell of flowers on the Jiao ship was pleasant, and the fragrant mist was lingering. The price of one trip was enough to bankrupt an ordinary person.

The long Jiao was well-informed. Looking at Luka, it spoke in human language, “You are the man in the legend who is more beautiful than the Elf King?”

Luka had a look of utter despair. Please don’t mention it again.

He noticed that there was an even larger Jiao ship next to it and was curious, “Is someone else going to the elven race today?”

Just as he was speaking, the air suddenly turned cold.

Luka stretched out his hand and caught a few snowflakes.

“…” Who is seeking justice?

The law enforcement team that had been escorting them all the way saw a white figure walking from behind, was stunned for a moment, and immediately stood up straight, giving a very standard salute to the rear, “Great Priest.”

Great Priest, a person from the Holy Court?

Luka subconsciously turned around.

The first thing he saw was a pure white, and then a human figure. The unnatural white light came from that special clothing.

The person was wearing a spotless white robe, holding a scepter, and a cross-like pendant box was hanging on his chest.

The most abrupt thing was his face.

At first glance, it was a serious and upright face. Then it became old and withered. Upon careful examination, it actually turned into a young man.

Luka looked at a person for more than four times for the first time.
…The feeling of the four seasons rotating.

The moment the priest approached, the Jiao’s slender neck almost touched the water surface.

The cold air slowed the blood flow in his whole body. Luka felt a bit uncomfortable and frowned slightly.

The Great Priest did not respond to the law enforcement captain’s greeting. When his face showed the appearance of a young man, he also frowned.

The priest frowned twice on his way here.

Once was when he saw the bird droppings above the ferry, and the other time was when he saw Luka, as if he had seen something extremely filthy.

Luka stretched out his leg and stepped on the priest’s shadow.

He looked at Quill Pen and said, “Jie, I will definitely have good luck today.”

I stepped on dog poop.

Quill Pen, who had been looking at the Great Priest gloomily, and the ferret, who was licking its fur, both had their mouths twitch.

The Great Priest’s eyes were like frost swords, piercing straight over.

Luka elegantly took a long stride and gently crushed the head of the shadow again.

I’ll step on it again.

Double dog poop luck, yay.

Great Priest: “You…”

Fighting was strictly forbidden near the ferry. Luka knew when to stop. Before the other party could speak, he turned and walked onto the Jiao ship without looking back.

The gaze from behind was about to burn a hole in his back.

Luka looked at the environment with a broad mind. The decoration inside the cabin was even more luxurious.

At this moment, the seawater was almost frozen. The law enforcement captain outside did not dare to look at the Great Priest’s face for a while. The long Jiao was even more unwilling to get involved in the dispute and immediately set sail.

At a speed of hundreds of kilometers per hour, the Jiao ship was very stable, and the fruit plate on the table did not move at all.

Inside the cabin, Luka sat cross-legged and began to eat.

The ferret flicked its tail. It had thought Luka would investigate the reason why the Great Priest was going to the elven race.

“The Great Priest must be wondering what I’m going for,” Luka said.

In that glance just now, besides disgust, there was also a slight surprise, which meant that the Great Priest had not expected to meet him.

“If I also think about the same problem, wouldn’t I be at a loss?”

This way, he would have to think one less time than the other party.

The ferret’s tail slightly bent into a question mark.

Was that how it was calculated?

The berries tasted good. Luka used the sweetness to activate his brain.

Of course it was. For an exam question you don’t know, a random guess might have a higher accuracy rate than thinking.

So what was there to think about?

Luka had always only focused on the problem at hand. He said seriously, “It is difficult for outsiders to get permission to enter the elven race. Everyone, I have a plan.”

Ferret: “Squeak?”

Quill Pen saw Luka’s signature smile and was about to quietly change his position and go to the outside of the cabin to get some air.

Want to run?

Luka不動聲色先一步坐去門的位置,佯裝無事發生繼續道:“秘訣就是要投其所好,請大家配合我一下。”

The Jiao ship drifted at sea for a full ten days. The weather at sea was unpredictable.

Ten thousand meters away on the sea horizon was an eternally unfading green. There, it was always one season. The elves liked to live in treehouses, and everywhere was filled with peace and mystery.

The arrow of the most ordinary elf could track an enemy for thousands of meters.

If any visitor entered uninvited, they would be met with countless magic and arrow rain.

Even so, there were still many visitors from afar who lingered nearby every day. Many rare magic plants and minerals that were almost extinct could only be found here.

In order to get a chance to enter the elven forest, they racked their brains and were willing to exchange everything.

Today, as usual, many visitors from various races lingered on the coastline, their postures very low, stating their requests.

In front was only a vast and dense forest. But these visitors knew very well that on the trees that changed color with the light, there were countless pairs of eyes staring here.

Unfortunately, for half a month, no lucky person had successfully obtained visitor status.

“Look, it’s a Jiao ship from the human race.”

In their boring wait, everyone looked towards the sea.

Jiao ships were also graded. The priest’s Jiao ship had a higher speed and arrived first. When they saw the iconic white robe, the various races subconsciously made way.

The Holy Court had a transcendent status, and generally, no one was willing to offend them.

At the head of the cabin, the Great Priest looked straight ahead, only looking at the depths of the forest. From a distance of ten thousand meters, he met the gaze of the forest ranger.

He took a step and crossed a hundred meters to the shore.

The visitors on the shore looked at each other. The scepter of the Holy Court was a symbol of status. The one who came was actually a Great Priest.

The light magic cultivated by the Holy Court was very special. Wherever they went, the temperature would drop a little, and the atmosphere would become inexplicably serious.

After going ashore, the Great Priest casually waved his hand, and a box full of rare treasures instantly appeared on the shore.

The box opened automatically, and the visitors who craned their necks to look curiously immediately gasped.

“Prophecy crystal ball, Holy Grail of Light, cursed mistletoe…”

Just the top layer was already a big deal. These gifts were not just precious, but most importantly, they catered to their preferences.

For example, the juice of the cursed mistletoe, when applied to an arrow, could have a certain invisibility effect.

“As expected of the Holy Court.” With a deep foundation, they could easily take out good things.

Just as they were marveling, a very festive and lively melody suddenly floated from the sea.

Cuckoo, partridge, swallow, mountain jay, bluebird… the calls of different birds were imitated in turn, as if someone had poked a bird’s nest at sea.

The visitors were stunned.

In the forest, pairs of green eyes moved from the Great Priest and unconsciously looked further away.

Another Jiao ship docked. In the distance, three figures were approaching with the classic song A Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix.

Two large and one small, each with a suona.

The small and old one in the middle was exhausted. The ferret’s paws nimbly controlled the air holes, its cheeks puffed up high. The large Quill Pen had a straight face. It was clearly an upbeat tune, but he played it in a style reserved for funerals.

For the first time, he was speechless at his own super learning ability. He had been taught in two days.

Luka on the left was the most active, his tongue reaching its peak of use.

The triple-tone superposition gave a very strong momentum.

It was unknown whether it was disturbed or had aroused a resonance, but the birds in the forest also began to call incessantly.

At first, there were only thousands of them. Soon, it spread to hundreds of thousands. The ‘birds’ on both sides were crazily hitting high notes at the same time. The clouds in the sky were about to be scattered.

The visitors of various races in the middle were dizzy.

Stop blowing.
…The souls in the ancestral graves are about to be blown away.

Coo!

The currently circulating version of A Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix had basically removed the rooster’s crow. Luka had restored it. As he approached, he aimed at the back of the priest’s head and let out a loud “coo-chee.”

Two hairs stood up on the Great Priest’s head.

Luka mainly provided long-range suona service. When he got closer, he temporarily stopped playing and, using what he had learned a few days ago from the Great Priest’s gaze, swept over the boxes around him:

“Gold and silver cannot adorn a naturally free bird. Jewels will only burden their wings. Only music is eternal.”

The Great Priest, who had been belittled, his face suddenly darkened.

Amidst the fragrance of birds and flowers, Luka began to play again.

The forest was full of birdsong. In the vast and ancient forest, a blond, green-eyed elf looked at the forest ranger captain, “Captain, don’t hesitate. Please invite him in.”

If the Great Priest doesn’t get in, this one must.

The other elves nearby also nodded.

Hurry up and invite him.

The elven race liked peace and quiet and preferred gentle and elegant melodies. They were about to go crazy from the noise.

If it were anyone else who had caused such a commotion, they would definitely have returned it with arrows. But the suona had just started to become popular, and the elves had a desire to explore any kind of musical instrument.

In addition, the piece itself was also very wonderful, and the performer’s skill was superb. Each switch of bird calls was imitated vividly.

So it could not be said that the other party was not sincere.

Otherwise, it would mean they did not know how to appreciate it.

Outside the forest, with Luka’s current cultivation level, his qi and blood were particularly abundant. He could blow for several hours without any problem.

The Great Priest looked at him, the faces of different ages changing unpredictably.

Originally, he did not want to cause trouble before seeing the Elf King, but now… amidst the sound of the suona, without any extra movements, the Great Priest just gently tapped the ground with the end of his scepter. Invisible crystals turned into polygonal sharp blades and shot towards Luka.

Quill Pen crushed the crystals with his bare hands.

The Great Priest showed a trace of surprise. This time, he directly raised his scepter.

Fighting required hands. Luka was about to tell Quill Pen to ignore him and let them run and blow along the coastline together. Who knew that four green light spots suddenly floated from a distance.

What was that?

Luka didn’t know, but someone did.

The excited and envious voices of the visitors came, “The elven race’s pass!”

Amidst a sea of anticipation, the green fluorescent light bypassed the lucky visitors and landed on the foreheads of Luka and the others.

Luka reached out and touched it. It was slightly raised, and it felt like a leaf. For a moment, his ears and eyes cleared up a lot.

He immediately put away his suona and took a long stride, saying to Quill Pen and the ferret, “That’s enough.”

“Squeak.”

Since learning to play the suona, the ferret had gotten used to walking upright at its old age.

The Great Priest did not continue the meaningless entanglement.

He looked at the slender back of the youth in front of him, remembered his fate of being a jinx to his parents, and his expression became even colder.

“What a trouble.”

Not just a trouble, but also a stain on the Saintess.

He had to find a way to solve it.

Behind him, the treasure chests on the shore were temporarily placed there. No visitor dared to have any ideas and actively kept their distance.

Walking with a swagger that recognized no relatives, Luka walked all the way to the outer trees, personally feeling the terrifying life force of these trees.

The bark was slightly undulating, like a living thing that could breathe.

As Luka observed the environment, dozens of figures appeared where the light intertwined under the trees.

The elven race all had stunning appearances. The iconic pointed ears made their entire faces look even more exquisite. The fabric of their clothes was soft, thin, and light, but it had good coverage.

Almost every elf carried a long, sturdy bow like a crescent moon.

According to the information Luka had gathered, the ones who appeared now were the forest rangers.

They would first ask the visitors about their needs and then propose the bargaining chips for a transaction. It was worth noting that if the payment was not successful the first time, they would be permanently blacklisted by the elven race.

The bow of the leading forest ranger was the only one held in his hand. His gaze only lingered on Luka’s long hair for a few seconds.

Natural black, what a unique color.

With this appearance and temperament, no wonder he dared to talk nonsense in the newspaper.

He glanced at the Great Priest’s face, which changed with the four seasons.

Ugly, rejected.

“Visitor from afar, state your request.”

Out of respect for the treasures and status, the forest ranger did not drive away the ugly person and chose to speak to Luka first.

His tone was as beautiful and cold as his race’s appearance.

Luka looked at Quill Pen. The latter nodded slightly, hinting that there was no need to be tactful when dealing with elves.

So he went straight to the point, “I want to see the Elf King.”

A very plain sentence instantly caused a series of chain reactions.

The Great Priest’s gaze was icy. From the depths of the forest, the gazes of many elves shot over, all converging on one person.

Luka calmly repeated, “I want to see the Elf King.”

For the sake of the internet, he had to attract the Elf King’s attention no matter what.

Playing music, creating and performing, hosting and reciting, he was proficient in all eighteen kinds of dance. Besides beauty, he was not afraid of any PK in the elven race.
