At the dorm entrance, movers dispatched by the moving company carried things back and forth, while Xie Yuanxing stood by, looking bewildered.

He had thought that moving out of the dorm would be something he and Shen Bianye could handle themselves, but he hadn’t expected Shen Bianye to directly hire people. Still, on second thought, it wasn’t surprising.

Seeing Xie Yuanxing standing, Shen Bianye placed a small stool in front of him, dusting it off as he did so. “Sit.”

He settled Xie Yuanxing as if he were a child, leaving Xie Yuanxing a bit at a loss. “Do you… have so much stuff?”

“How come I felt like it was fine when I was in the dorm?”

“So many things I’ve never seen before.”

Shen Bianye, holding an action figure, glanced at Xie Yuanxing. “Some things I haven’t really taken out to use.”

His attention and time were all focused on Xie Yuanxing; it was hard for him to spare a glance for anything else.

The commotion of them moving out of the dorm was not small. Even though they chose a time when fewer people were in the dorm, those who occasionally came and went would still take a second look.

Those who knew Shen Bianye would often stop and ask a few questions. “Brother Shen, are you abandoning us already?”

Shen Bianye raised an eyebrow: “Yep, getting ready to move out with my little roommate.”

So their gazes fell on Xie Yuanxing again. “Living together? You guys have such a good relationship.”

Xie Yuanxing: …

Shen Bianye tutted. He stood behind Xie Yuanxing, his hand naturally resting on Xie Yuanxing’s shoulder, as if claiming territory: “We’re moving out together, and all you think is that we have a good relationship?”

Xie Yuanxing: …

He silently stood up and asked the movers, “Are you done moving? Can we go now?”

The mover glanced at Shen Bianye, then at Xie Yuanxing, hesitated for a moment, and nodded. “Yes, you can.”

This employer’s precious items like action figures, computer hosts, and electronic devices required them to move slowly and carefully.

They had already moved at their slowest pace, yet they were still criticized for not being serious enough.

But to say how much the employer cared about those things, they didn’t even supervise the move at all. It was strange, like they were deliberately trying to drag out the time.

Xie Yuanxing tilted his head, looking at Shen Bianye, whom he had left behind. “Are you done chatting?”

Shen Bianye reluctantly ended the conversation. “Coming.”

Watching Shen Bianye walk over immediately after being called, the classmate who had just been chatting with him was completely shocked. He was too obedient.

He watched the two walk away side by side, and in his shock, he seemed to understand something.

Xie Yuanxing sat in the car, and before long, his phone started dinging with messages.

The few people he could talk to at school all sent him messages, one after another.

Gao Yufei: “You and Senior Shen moved out together?!”

Shi Tingting: “Xingxing, I saw some gossip on the confession wall, it’s about you and Senior Shen.”

Lin Xiuming: “Are you and Shen Bianye, are you dating?”

Xie Yuanxing looked down, replying to each one.

Shen Bianye was driving, glancing at him. He was chatting.

Shen Bianye resisted the urge to ask who he was chatting with.

After parking the car at their destination, he led Xie Yuanxing out of the car. Xie Yuanxing was still chatting.

Shen Bianye frowned.

They got on the elevator, and Xie Yuanxing was still chatting.

Shen Bianye’s brows knitted completely. He tried to speak in a normal tone: “What are you chatting about? So much to say.”

Xie Yuanxing looked up at him: “Several people are asking me if I’m dating you.”

Shen Bianye’s eyebrow raised almost imperceptibly, his tone puzzled: “What did Baby say?”

“I know Baby doesn’t want others to know about our relationship. I haven’t said anything, Baby.”

As he spoke, he exchanged a glance with Xie Yuanxing and couldn’t help but smile.

There was no one else in the elevator. Shen Bianye pulled Xie Yuanxing into his embrace and chuckled softly: “Alright, Baby, I did it on purpose.”

Xie Yuanxing gave him a light glance, “What’s the use of you doing it on purpose?”

“When did I say we’re dating now?”

The elevator chimed “ding,” and the person who walked out looked utterly dejected.

How could you do this, Baby?

This thought crossed Shen Bianye’s mind, but he didn’t say it aloud. He reached out, holding Xie Yuanxing’s hand, and entered his fingerprint into the electronic lock at the door, coaxing: “Even if we’re not dating, we’re still little roommates.”

“Little roommate, come and register your fingerprint. This will be our temporary home from now on.”

He spoke very naturally, but Xie Yuanxing, hearing the word “home,” paused.

Xie Yuanxing lowered his gaze, looking at their intertwined hands, and softly hummed in response. The apartment was a two-bedroom, one-living room, with a very minimalist style. The living room only had a sofa, a coffee table, and a large black TV mounted on the wall.

It was cold and devoid of any signs of life.

Xie Yuanxing: “How much is the rent for this place?”

Shen Bianye: “It didn’t cost anything, I bought it.”

?

Xie Yuanxing blinked. “Bought? Why didn’t you rent? You only have a few years left in university.”

“You probably won’t use it anymore in the future, right?”

Shen Bianye said naturally, “If I don’t use it, I can sell it off.”

“Rented houses are usually lived in by other people, and I’m a germaphobe. I don’t want to use things others have used.”

A hint of surprise, and even incredulity, appeared in Xie Yuanxing’s eyes.

Germaphobe… Shen Bianye…

These two words, in his world, were a bit difficult to connect for a moment.

Shen Bianye saw his surprise and raised an eyebrow: “Dorm accommodation is mandatory by the school, so there’s nothing I can do about others having lived there.”

Xie Yuanxing shook his head, not saying what he was thinking.

Instead, he asked, “When did you buy it?”

Shen Bianye hesitated, rubbing the tip of his nose, “I bought it after Baby agreed to move out with me.”

His actions were slightly unnatural, and Xie Yuanxing immediately sensed something was off.

Xie Yuanxing leaned closer, tilting his head slightly, his expression cool and indifferent. The black mole under his eye shimmered in Shen Bianye’s eyes. “Really?”

Shen Bianye’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He stammered, “I bought it during my first year. I originally planned to move in during my second year.”

“Oh.”

Xie Yuanxing averted his gaze, took a step back, and naturally changed the subject: “The moving company’s truck should be here soon, right?”

He changed the subject too quickly, and the dazed person immediately snapped back to attention.

Shen Bianye’s face changed several times, finally fiercely hooking Xie Yuanxing’s nape and intensely sucking and kissing him under the eye, accusingly, “Baby!”

“This isn’t right.”

Xie Yuanxing’s lips curved slightly: “What’s wrong with it?”

“Lying is what’s wrong.”

He had already discovered that as long as he got a little closer to Shen Bianye, focused on making eye contact with him, and kept his facial expression calm, Shen Bianye would easily…

Reveal that obsessed, fervent, burning, almost bewitched expression.

In this state, asking questions was exceptionally convenient.

Shen Bianye saw the slyness in his eyes. The hand half-gripping Xie Yuanxing’s nape unconsciously stroked that smooth, delicate skin.

Slowly, he drew closer, and before the movers arrived, he pressed the “bad mushroom” down and kissed him fiercely until he had his fill.

After the moving company arrived, Shen Bianye single-handedly pulled a stool over and sat by the side. The tall man’s back now conveyed a hint of melancholy.

He pulled out his phone and sent a message to Zhou Chao.

“Xie Yuanxing is a beta.”

Zhou Chao: “?”

“Holy cow, Xie Yuanxing is actually a beta! If you hadn’t said anything, I would’ve thought I already knew!”

Shen Bianye: “What’s wrong with you?”

Zhou Chao: “You should be asking yourself that.”

“I provided so much emotional value, and you ask me what’s wrong with me?”

Shen Bianye turned his head to glance at Xie Yuanxing, who was unpacking boxes. His slender, fair legs seemed a bit out of place, splayed slightly to the sides, clamping a box between them.

If only he could hook them around him…

His phone vibrated, pulling Shen Bianye’s straying attention back. Realizing what he was thinking, Shen Bianye sighed heavily.

Shen Bianye: “Don’t they say only Omegas have a fatal attraction to Alphas, losing their minds and all that?”

Do Betas too?

Zhou Chao: “There’s not that much fatal attraction. Suppressants are very advanced now.”

Shen Bianye: “I think I’m doomed.”

Will he ever have secrets from Xie Yuanxing in this lifetime?

Zhou Chao: “What exactly do you want to say?”

“You’re rambling all over the place.”

Shen Bianye sent an emoji, wearily lighting a cyber-electronic cigarette. “It’s nothing.”

If his inner self was gone, so be it, but he wanted to save some face.

The movers put down the boxes and left. Xie Yuanxing unpacked the box containing his belongings and took out a red doll.

The doll was cute, with a round face, wearing a red hood, and its eyes closed, as if making a wish.

He reached out and placed the doll in the most conspicuous spot.

Shen Bianye walked over and immediately recognized it as a blind box doll. Without even having to search, he knew who had given it.

“Baby, should this be placed here?”

“If Baby likes blind box dolls, I’ll buy some more for Baby. We can unbox them and arrange them in a row.”

Xie Yuanxing shook his head: “No need, just let it sit here alone.”

Placed prominently, it would remind him every time he saw it.

Time was short.

Cherish it.

Shen Bianye stared at the bright red doll. “Still, I’ll buy some for Baby. They’d look good in other places too.”

“Baby must really like these things.”

The cute decorations in Xie Yuanxing’s house, SpongeBob, Crayon Shin-chan with his perky butt, all indicated that Xie Yuanxing must like these adorable things.

On one hand, Shen Bianye wanted to help Xie Yuanxing rekindle these hobbies.

On the other hand, once Xie Yuanxing unboxed an identical doll, he would replace the eyesore on the table with it.

It was the exact same thing; Xie Yuanxing probably wouldn’t even notice the switch.

Moving into a new home, the first thing to do was meticulously place a doll given by someone else. Shen Bianye held back again and again, but no matter how he looked at the doll, it was an eyesore.

He watched Xie Yuanxing’s hands as he arranged the doll. A black ring adorned his slender, fair fingers. Shen Bianye’s sour heart immediately calmed down.

The ring wasn’t expensive; he had bought it simply because he thought it would suit Xie Yuanxing well.

He sat down beside Xie Yuanxing, took his hand, and his thumb caressed the ring, lowering his posture, feeling inexplicably wronged and pitiful: “Baby.”

“When can I wear a ring, Baby?”

Xie Yuanxing’s eyelashes fluttered. In his line of sight was Shen Bianye, and in his peripheral vision was that glaringly red lucky doll.

He spoke softly, “Do you have it with you?”

Almost the next second, Shen Bianye hooked a ring out from his clothes.

It was threaded onto a string, worn around Shen Bianye’s neck, hidden by his clothes, clinging tightly to the second rib beneath his collarbone, forever trembling slightly with its owner’s heartbeat.

“Yes, Baby.”

Xie Yuanxing’s eyes subtly trembled when he saw where Shen Bianye kept the ring. When he took the ring off the string and held it in his hand, it seemed to still carry Shen Bianye’s warmth.

It was hot, scorching his heart.

He tightly pursed his lips, “I’ll put it on you.”

Shen Bianye watched Xie Yuanxing put the ring on him. He thought, it’s hard not to think of marriage.

Actually, Shen Bianye knew that if he was destined for a short life, it wasn’t suitable to truly marry Xie Yuanxing, but he found it hard to resist the temptation.

His rationality pulled him in one direction, thinking that after marriage, if he died, he could legitimately leave his property to Xie Yuanxing.

Yet he also knew this was merely selfish. If he wanted to leave Xie Yuanxing property, there were other ways.

But at this moment, Shen Bianye reached out and held Xie Yuanxing’s hand, pressing him into the sofa for a kiss.

The moment their lips and teeth intertwined, the thought in his mind was that his Baby had personally put a ring on him, and they were married at this very moment.

In his heart.
