Chapter 87: The President is  Very Fierce (15,16)

Ying Chenghao was the male protagonist chosen by fate, and with the title of an Oscar-winning actor, he was naturally handsome. He was tall, good-looking, and carries an intellectual aura, with a grace typical of a literary talent. Every gesture and movement of his exudes elegance, making him appear exceptionally refined.

When he saw Ying Zhao, Ying Chenghao displayed a well-mannered smile and warmly attempted to give him a hug.

However, Ying Zhao has always disliked such superficial gestures. He naturally noticed that although the protagonist smiled at him, there was no trace of warmth in his eyes.

Unwilling to engage in false pleasantries, he turned aside to avoid the hug.

Ying Chenghao’s skin was quite thick; seeing Ying Zhao evade him, his expression showed no change. Instead, he continued to smile and said, “Ruihan, it’s been a long time. How have you been recently? I was quite surprised to learn that Ruihan has also joined the entertainment industry. I just started a film with Director Wang, and as you know, his films have always had a good reputation. I wonder if Ruihan would be interested in joining us?”

Hearing this, Ying Zhao shook his head, disregarding the protagonist’s flattery, and replied bluntly, “No need. I am not very interested in acting; it’s just a hobby. My focus will always be on the family’s business.”

As Ying Zhao spoke, he walked into the room. Ying Chenghao heard his words and followed behind him, his expression briefly twisted with dissatisfaction.

He felt that Ying Zhao’s words were somewhat sarcastic, implying that he was indulging in trivial matters as a mere actor instead of contributing to the family business.

However, Ying Chenghao maintained a good-natured demeanor and responded, “Cousin is right. Naturally, I am not as capable as Ruihan in every aspect.”

Yet, Ying Chenghao harbored resentment towards Ying Zhao, feeling that it was his control over the family business that denied his father the opportunity to make grand achievements.

But now that their grandfather had returned and his uncle Ying Yi had passed away years ago, leaving only Ying Ruihan, he was the only relative left. With their grandfather in poor health, Ying Ruihan would surely listen to him.

Thinking this, Ying Chenghao followed Ying Zhao into the room where Ying Tai was resting.

Upon entering the room, Ying Zhao was struck by the grandeur of the Ying family’s estate. Ying Tai was recuperating in the family mansion, but the medical equipment in the room was more advanced than that in a hospital.

Ying Zhao saw an elderly man with graying hair lying on the bed, who sat up when he saw Ying Zhao. Although the man was not emaciated, his complexion was somewhat pallid, and Ying Zhao frowned, sensing a hint of death around him.

With the upgrade of his small world, Ying Zhao could now use a small amount of his original power and was more sensitive to the fortune of the small world.

It seemed that Ying Tai’s lifespan was indeed nearing its end, but with proper care and without unnecessary thoughts, he could still live for another half year.

However, even if he were to die, it was merely his fate. According to the current situation, Ying Tai’s body seemed free of major illnesses, so outwardly he should appear healthy. Thus, the so-called serious illness seemed to be a deception.

Just then, the elderly man looked at Ying Zhao with an unfriendly expression and said, “Why did you come so late? Do you look down on me, this old man?”

Hearing this, Ying Zhao shook his head, his expression remaining warm. He said to Ying Tai, “I heard that grandfather is ill, so I came immediately with Uncle Liu. But seeing grandfather’s appearance, it seems that there’s nothing serious, right?”

Ying Tai was taken aback by Ying Zhao’s words, his face turning red with anger. He replied angrily, “What, do I need to be bedridden for it to be considered a serious illness? You and your father are truly the epitome of filial piety!”

Ying Tai’s words were neither harsh nor subtle, yet Ying Zhao seemed to take them seriously and nodded in agreement.

Ying Zhao didn’t care how the people in the room thought. The family business was mostly built by Ying Ruihan’s father. The original owner had already done as much as he could for these family members.

If it weren’t for Ying Yi’s filial piety towards Ying Tai, he would have stopped making concessions. In Ying Zhao’s view, it was just too much filial piety. Unfortunately, Ying Tai had reached this age and was still so unclear-minded.

Seeing his expression, Ying Tai opened his mouth to scold again. However, just then, a middle-aged man with a round figure walked in, interrupting Ying Tai’s outburst.

The man had a smiling face and ordinary features that made him look easygoing. However, the sharpness in his eyes suggested that his thoughts were not as simple as they appeared.

Seeing Ying Tai getting angry, the man quickly sat beside the old man, patting his back to soothe him while smiling and saying, “Father, Ruihan is still young and doesn’t need to get so upset! Look, Ruihan came to see you as soon as he heard you were ill. He’s being filial to you.”

Ying Lifeng, the man who was speaking, was recognized by Ying Zhao as his second uncle.

Ying Lifeng was smooth-talking and always knew how to please Ying Tai. Despite his constant scheming behind the scenes, he never openly clashed with Ying Yi in the past.

Compared to the blunt and straightforward Ying Tai, Ying Lifeng’s more double-faced approach was even more distasteful to Ying Zhao.

Meanwhile, Ying Chenghao thoughtfully poured a cup of warm water for the old man, patting his hand comfortingly, and felt a sense of joy in his heart.

In front of him was this seemingly harmonious family of three generations, with Ying Zhao appearing like an outsider.

Ying Chenghao knew that Ying Ruihan had always envied the affection his grandfather showed him and that Ruihan’s longing for familial bonds was well understood by both him and his father.

The thought that his actions might make others feel jealous and displeased filled Ying Chenghao’s heart with a hidden sense of satisfaction.

If the original owner had seen this scene, he might have felt heartbroken, because Ying Ruihan lost his mother at a young age and only had his father by his side.

Like his father Ying Yi, he valued family ties. After Ying Yi’s death, he had often imagined his grandfather and relatives being by his side, with the family united and happy.

However, reality is always harsh. Facing such troublesome relatives, it’s no wonder that the original owner, who was deeply yearning for affection, became entangled in Su Ying’s flowery words and false concern.

Unfortunately, now it was Ying Zhao watching the show. Faced with the three people performing their familial affection in front of him, Ying Zhao yawned out of boredom.

Having experienced so many worlds, though each world’s ultimate goal was to live happily with his loved one, it must be said that in each world, while he was trying to give happiness to his loved one, the other person would also pamper him to the skies. With such deep and profound love, who would still care for these superficial gestures?

If it weren’t for observing the protagonist and the original owner’s family in this world, and giving them some opportunities to mess things up to fulfill the original owner’s wishes in the small world, Ying Zhao would have had no interest in stepping into the Ying family’s old mansion.

Sure enough, after watching for a short while, Ying Zhao lost patience. He interrupted bluntly, “I have already seen grandfather’s condition. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving now.”

Just as Ying Zhao’s words fell, Ying Lifeng quickly smiled and blocked his way, saying, “Why the rush, Ruihan? It’s been a long time since the family gathered, so we should spend more time together. Moreover, your grandfather has important matters to discuss with you.”

Hearing Ying Lifeng’s words, Ying Tai recalled his true purpose. He softened his tone and said earnestly to Ying Zhao, “Ruihan, you’re not young anymore. With you being the only son of your father, you should hurry to start a family and leave a descendant! Your second uncle has been busy finding a match for you. He thinks that the young lady from the Wang family is quite good. The Wang family is one of the top ten families in the country. I’ve already seen the young lady; she is graceful and beautiful, and I think she is a very suitable choice to be the mistress of the Ying family. Your second uncle and I have already negotiated with the Wang family. In a few days, I will invite Miss Wang over for you to meet her and set the wedding date.”

Ying Zhao listened to Ying Tai’s self-righteous talk, full of pretense of doing it for his own good, and almost laughed out loud.

After many years, to come and dictate his marriage, one wonders where they get such audacity.

As for Ying Lifeng’s strong recommendation of the Wang family’s young lady as a suitable mistress for the Ying family, it was merely because Ying Lifeng had long been colluding with the Wang family.

Given the Ying family’s current wealth, the benefits of marrying Ying Ruihan were enormous, and the Wang family would naturally be eager.

Moreover, this Miss Wang was not as pure as she seemed. This so-called young lady enjoyed a lot of fun in secret, even keeping several young male lovers and changing partners frequently.

Even during previous meetings, Miss Wang had shown interest in Ying Chenghao’s looks and had an ambiguous relationship with his so-called cousin.

The thought of marrying such a woman into his family and Ying Tai still claiming she was a good match made Ying Zhao find it extremely laughable.

Thinking this, Ying Zhao didn’t hide his amusement and actually laughed out loud. Seeing the smile on Ying Zhao’s face, Ying Tai glared and scolded, “Ying Ruihan, what are you laughing at? Let me tell you, this is an arranged marriage, and whether you want to or not, you must marry Miss Wang!”

Listening to Ying Tai’s authoritarian words, Ying Zhao’s face showed a playful expression as he said, “Arranged by parents? Then I need to have parents first! My parents have long passed away. Are you saying, grandfather, that you have the power to resurrect them?”

Hearing Ying Zhao’s words, Ying Lifeng’s face showed some disapproval. He adopted a caring tone and said, “Ruihan, you should listen to your grandfather. This Miss Wang is gentle and virtuous, with good looks, and is a true lady of a prominent family, a perfect match for you. Also, the Wang family’s financial strength is not weak, so marrying her would be beneficial for you.”

Looking at Ying Lifeng’s disapproving expression, Ying Zhao raised his eyebrows, feeling a sense of sarcasm in his heart. He wondered if this Miss Wang was actually a benefit to him or just to Ying Lifeng and Ying Chenghao.

So he said bluntly, “Has second uncle received many benefits from the Wang family?”

Hearing Ying Zhao’s words, Ying Lifeng’s eyes flashed with panic but quickly regained composure. He put on an aggrieved and angry look, saying, “Ruihan, what nonsense are you talking about! We’re all doing this for your own good.”

But Ying Zhao interrupted him indifferently, saying, “Then what about the new development project with the Wang family? Isn’t the marriage a prerequisite for your cooperation? Is my information wrong, and the Wang family is willing to give the project to you without the marriage? If so, I might as well go directly to the Wang family to negotiate and bring the project to our family, so you won’t have to worry about it. What do you think?”

Hearing this, Ying Lifeng could no longer maintain his calm demeanor, and his face became extremely ugly.

Seeing Ying Lifeng’s reaction, Ying Tai immediately realized that Ying Zhao was telling the truth and was shocked. He hadn’t expected his obedient youngest son to have such selfish motives. This was the reason why Ying Lifeng had been praising the Wang family’s young lady, claiming she was the perfect match for the Ying family.

In the past, Ying Tai had considered handing over the entire Ying family to Ying Lifeng, as this son was his favorite.

But after testing Ying Lifeng with some of the family’s businesses, which were all running at a loss, he had no choice but to pass the family to Ying Yi.

After Ying Yi’s death, Ying Ruihan, being very capable, became the head of the Ying family by default in Ying Tai’s heart.

However, at his age, Ying Ruihan still had no one around him, which made Old Master Ying somewhat dissatisfied.

Especially recently, there had been news online about the head of the Ying family coming out publicly. Although few people knew the original owner’s true identity, the people from the prominent families were well aware, which made Ying Tai feel he had lost face.

So, after listening to Ying Lifeng’s persuasion, he was eager to find a reason to return to the country and personally arrange a marriage for Ying Zhao.

However, Ying Tai did not pay much attention to Ying Zhao’s claim about Ying Lifeng’s ulterior motives; he was merely somewhat displeased that his family member had been hiding things from him.

After all, this was his beloved youngest son. Ying Tai glared at Ying Lifeng but still sternly told Ying Zhao, “Even so, your second uncle means well. The Wang family’s young lady is a good match; this does not affect your marriage.”

Hearing this, Ying Zhao was almost laughing in anger, feeling that human hearts could be so biased.

So, immediately, Ying Zhao took out a stack of photos from his pocket and threw them onto Ying Tai’s hospital bed, saying, “The young lady from the Wang family is good? Grandfather, you should look at these photos first!”

Watching Ying Tai’s expression change instantly upon seeing the photos, Ying Zhao continued, “I really can’t understand your second uncle’s good intentions. What exactly does he mean by making me and Ying Chenghao share a woman? And Ying Chenghao, you are so generous; my cousin really should thank you. But for such a woman, you might as well keep her for yourself.”

Ying Lifeng and Ying Chenghao quickly picked up the other photos scattered on the hospital bed and nervously examined them.

They discovered that the stack of photos showed the Wang family’s young lady in various compromising situations with different partners, including several photos of Ying Chenghao and the young lady.

Unexpectedly, the seemingly demure young lady from the Wang family was so uninhibited in private. The content of the photos was extremely scandalous.

After viewing the photos, Ying Chenghao’s face darkened further. When he previously met Miss Wang, he thought she was quite to his liking. After casually flirting, she had taken the bait. Ying Chenghao had been self-satisfied, thinking himself irresistible.

On one hand, he had planned to use Miss Wang’s feelings for him to gain benefits by placing her beside Ying Zhao. On the other hand, he felt quite smug about tossing a woman he had used to Ying Zhao, thinking it was a win.

But now, seeing the photos of a woman who had been passed around countless times, Ying Chenghao felt a surge of nausea and disgust.

Ying Zhao looked at the three people in front of him with ashen faces and curled his lips, addressing Ying Tai, “So, now you still want me to marry this Miss Wang? Is such a woman really the most suitable choice for the head of the Ying family in your mind? Grandfather, your taste is truly unique!”

Hearing Ying Zhao’s sarcastic words and his obviously disdainful expression, Ying Tai could not contain his anger. He shouted at Ying Zhao, “It’s just a minor mistake. What’s wrong with arranging a marriage for you? Do you still want to fool around with that Shi Yanchen? You are the head of the Ying family now; you shouldn’t be in show business. If you insist on doing it, I won’t stop you. If you could become a top actor like Chenghao, it would be fine. But you can’t even act in a bad film properly, and you’ve brought back all the bad habits from that industry, including disgusting homosexuality. You’ve completely disgraced the Ying family! Now, I’m giving you one last chance—break off with that man and marry the person I arrange for you, or I will expel you from the Ying family’s genealogy!”

Seeing Ying Tai’s furious demeanor, Ying Zhao felt a pang of sorrow for the original owner. Ying Tai had not a shred of affection for the original owner, only a desire for control.

Facing such relatives, Ying Zhao decided to be ruthless. He immediately wiped the playful smile off his face and said to Ying Tai with a cold expression, “Expel me from the genealogy? Fine, I would welcome that.”

Seeing his indifferent attitude, Ying Tai, momentarily stunned, furrowed his brows and said to Ying Zhao in a stern and threatening tone, “Don’t you care about this? Just like your father, you’re both ungrateful. I’ve raised two ungrateful wolves!”

At Ying Tai’s words, a flash of cold light appeared in Ying Zhao’s eyes. He said coldly, “Grandfather, this is the last time I will call you that because you truly don’t deserve to have such a good son as my father! You’ve lived to such an old age, and you still can’t see things clearly. Have you ever thought about who built the Ying family’s fortune? You say my father and I are ungrateful? If we’re ungrateful, then you are just a parasite living off my father’s hard work, and yet you’re an ungrateful worm!”

Old Master Ying, who had always been proud, had never been insulted like this, especially by his own grandchild.

Ying Tai raised his hand in anger, pointing at Ying Zhao, and for a moment, couldn’t utter a word. In the end, he was so enraged that he fainted.

When Ying Tai fainted, the room immediately fell into chaos. Ying Lifeng quickly pressed the emergency button, and soon several medical staff from the old mansion rushed in.

Ying Zhao watched the frantic scene of the emergency response and the complex expressions of the father and son facing him. He said nothing, quietly leaving the room, completely ignoring the collapsed Ying Tai on the bed.

After stepping out of the Ying family’s old mansion and looking at the blue sky outside, Ying Zhao breathed a long sigh of relief. He silently thought, “Ying Ruihan, I’ve severed these false familial ties for you.”

The photos taken from his pocket were arranged by Xiao Bai. Unexpectedly, with the world’s upgrade, Xiao Bai’s abilities had also become increasingly powerful.

One could say that the system always delivers excellent results. It managed to produce such concrete and advantageous evidence in an instant, thoroughly slapping those three people’s faces and giving Ying Zhao a great sense of relief.

With the hatred value of this family maxed out, Ying Zhao left the old mansion without a ripple in his heart. He called a car and went back home.

Having just dealt with the nauseating family of the original owner, Ying Zhao now wanted to see his own beloved husband, and this opportunity to be pampered and comforted was just right.

Originally, he had spent the whole day accompanying Shi Yanchen at the welfare institute. Finally, returning home, he was brought to the Ying family’s old mansion.

By the time Ying Zhao got home, it was already dark. But seeing the dim light on the second floor, he knew that the person in the house was still awake.

Was he waiting for me?

Thinking this, Ying Zhao’s face instantly softened. He lightly knocked on the door, and soon, the house’s main door was opened.

Seeing Shi Yanchen rush to open the door and stand in front of him, Ying Zhao felt warmth in his heart.

The man had changed into home clothes, and the dim light in the room made Shi Yanchen’s expression appear exceptionally gentle.

Seeing that the person ringing the doorbell was indeed Ying Zhao, Shi Yanchen’s eyes showed a look of surprise. He had thought, based on Ying Zhao’s previous appearance, that it would take a few days to handle his family matters and return, but he didn’t expect to see him again so soon.

Happily taking Ying Zhao’s coat and hanging it up, Shi Yanchen quickly brought out a pair of slippers. After closing the door, he followed Ying Zhao into the house and asked with concern, “Is everything settled? Have you had dinner?”

Ying Zhao shook his head and softly replied to Shi Yanchen, “Not yet. Chenchen, I’m hungry!”

Seeing Ying Zhao’s rare display of acting cute, Shi Yanchen couldn’t help but reach out to ruffle his soft hair, smiling as he said, “Wait a moment. I’ll cook you a bowl of noodles.”
