RBNR Ch80: End of Text
After returning home, some mysteries began to unravel. On the day Qin Bao returned to the studio, he pushed open door after door. Xiao Xu asked, “Brother Bao, what are you looking for?”
Qin Bao sneered and said darkly, “Lu Weishu.”
Lu Weishu was Brother Lu’s full name. Qin Bao usually respected him and never addressed him this way. It was well-known that when Qin Bao was angry, he would use people’s full names. Xiao Xu knew this too well.
Xiao Xu honestly replied, “I just saw Brother Lu go downstairs. It seemed like he was in a hurry.”
Qin Bao went to the balcony.
In the chilly autumn, the wind blew harshly. The fat figure downstairs was wrapped tightly in a coat, moving hurriedly as if chased by a demon. Qin Bao shouted at him, “Lu Weishu——”
Brother Lu noticeably flinched and looked up.
Qin Bao yelled, “You traitor! After ten years of friendship, you help everyone and betray me everywhere!”
Brother Lu quickly bowed and said, “No more next time, no more! Big brother, please calm down. I’ll come back in a few days! I’ve arranged everything with Xiao Xu!”
A few days?
Qin Bao pretended to chase him downstairs. “Stop right there!”
Brother Lu swiftly turned and ran to his car, starting it with a whoosh.
Qin Bao was only scaring him. “…Betrayer! At your age, still acting as a snitch!”
Qin Bao was puzzled about how the news of his and Feng Chengyu’s divorce spread so quickly. If it was just about their divorce, it would be understandable. But how did Mr. Qin even know about the agreement?
It turned out Brother Lu was an undercover agent!
Brother Lu was indeed busy, having to report to Feng Chengyu while secretly colluding with Grandpa Qin. Qin Bao should have been more alert when Brother Lu mentioned that Grandpa Qin had called him to work.
Though he was speechless, Qin Bao realized Brother Lu was actually in a difficult position. Knowing about their divorce, Brother Lu had been trying to hold on, praying they would reconcile. But seeing the half-written divorce agreement had shocked him. With a heavy responsibility, Brother Lu had been unable to sleep, and finally, when Qin Bao’s drama wrapped up, he had secretly informed Mr. Qin.
A spy right beside me.
Qin Bao told Feng Chengyu, “This time, I’ll make sure he feels ashamed and never dares to be a spy and report my secrets again!”
“You can’t blame me; I didn’t buy him as a spy,” Feng Chengyu said with a lowered gaze. “It’s just that when you were ignoring me before, I asked him about your recent situation.”
Hearing this, Qin Bao’s heart softened. He immediately took Feng Chengyu’s hand and snuggled.
Reflecting on it later, Qin Bao realized Feng Chengyu’s statement was full of charm. He couldn’t believe it, but he had to “remove” this troublesome element first.
Brother Lu was truly ashamed. He wasn’t like Jin Si, who really betrayed Qin Bao; he was just overwhelmed with concern. His responsibility was too great.
Privately, Brother Lu had also told Xiao Xu, “Sigh, seeing Bao’er and Mr. Feng having problems makes me feel bad. It’s like if they’re not doing well, I’m not doing well. If they’re happy, I feel better, even sweeter than eating candy. What is this all about?”
Xiao Xu suddenly understood, “Brother Lu! You’re showing symptoms of shipping a CP (Couple Pairing)! Don’t worry, it’s normal. Come on, I’ll introduce you to the fandom. Welcome to our FengQin base!”
FengQin was the CP name fans have given to Feng Chengyu and Qin Bao.
Qin Bao’s fan base wasn’t very large yet. Initially, most of his fans were those who watched him grow, feeling a sense of achievement when he climbed up the ranks of top models. Even after he shifted to acting, fans still saw him through the lens of his growth. Qin Bao’s delicate appearance and fiery personality have always given him a pure and seductive allure. He has numerous CP discussions online with many Alpha celebrities, the most peculiar being with Mo Xiao. There are still fans who ship them based on the “gaze interaction” from Flow Night years ago.
However, since the emergence of the FengQin CP, all of Qin Bao’s other CPs have been labeled as cults.
FengQin was legitimate and officially recognized. Once you enter their super topic, you could see the imperial marriage registry stamp photoshopped onto it. Fans proudly ship them, speaking louder than fans of other CPs.
The latest popular post from a few days ago was: “Help!!! Today, while picking up my girlfriend from work, I saw Bao picking up his husband! (Picture)(Picture)”
The photo was taken on the day Qin Bao went to find Feng Chengyu at Mo Yan.
The fan posted a selfie with Qin Bao and a picture of Qin Bao holding the roses and entering the elevator.
[Ahhh, what luck! I want to try and see them too!]
[What is beauty overload! Just a casual shot, and it’s magazine-worthy!]
[Not kidding, he’s a supermodel.]
[So sweet, so sweet. Bao actually picks up his husband from work! I’m dying!]
[Does anyone have a picture of Mr. Feng? Since they’re in the same building, can we stalk and get a shot?]
[Original poster: I didn’t dare to take one. You want to see, you come.]
[I don’t dare either, but I really want to see them together.]
[I’m thirsty for new pics; all we have are paparazzi shots!]
[+1 Super want to see them together!!!]
The next day, Qin Bao liked the post using his Flow account.
On the same day, another post became popular: [Saw Bao’s silver Phantom in the parking lot~ Reminded me of the old days when I shipped the childhood friends CP (Crying)(Picture)]
[Tears, my rare CP is really BE (bad end).]
[Those photos of Bao after the college entrance exam, picked up by his childhood friend, were killer. Who understands?]
[By the way, the childhood friend is also doing well, now a professional racer, joined Nirvana team this year.]
[What’s the childhood friend’s name?]
[Shan Yiming~]
In December, Shan Yiming gave Qin Bao a few tickets to his exhibition match, inviting him to watch. Qin Bao had never seen one of Shan Yiming’s races and felt he wasn’t a good friend.
So, when they met in the afternoon, Qin Bao promised, “Don’t worry, I’ll definitely come this time.”
“Can you travel conveniently?” Shan Yiming knew he might be photographed by paparazzi wherever he went. “I can ask Yike to pick you up.”
Time flew by, and now Sgan Yike was a licensed adult. She didn’t turn out to be an Omega but grew tall and strong, even finding a Beta girlfriend. It’s said she formed a band at school, performing with smokey makeup and dresses, while looking neat and sharp when working with Uncle Shan, clearly a smart and capable Alpha.
Qin Bao said, “No need, I’ll go with Feng Chengyu.”
Shan Yiming laughed, “Mr. Feng is so busy. The whole world knows Tuduo wants to meet him. He might be back in politics soon. Are you sure he’ll come to a small exhibition match?”
A week ago, shocking news broke on Ella Star. The interstellar terrorist organization Tuduo sent provocative messages to the Alliance and the Empire, announcing the development and production of combat mechs.
It turns out that the Fuxing Group had indeed been attacked by Tuduo twenty years ago. The “ghost ship” exposed by Mo Yan, which belonged to Fuxing Group, was hijacked in that incident.
However, it wasn’t a one-sided robbery. During a secret negotiation with Fuxing Group, tensions rose when the latter tried to raise conditions, angering Tuduo, who seized all the scandium on board.
Fuxing Group ended up with a significant loss, never expecting that the ship’s wreckage would be found by a small company like Mo Yan twenty years later.
The scandium plundered then is now used by Tuduo to create their mechs.
Although Tuduo’s capabilities can’t match Ella Star’s, and their mechs have many flaws and lack sustainable power sources, the news still caused great panic on Ella Star.
The most unexpected part was that Tuduo wants the rights to mine scandium on several planets in the galaxy and specifically asked to meet Feng Chengyu, setting the meeting in a public interstellar location.
Feng Chengyu was no longer in the imperial government and held no official position.
Once Tuduo made this request, the Empire’s Council convened an emergency meeting, inviting Director Feng and retired Marshal Feng, and involving the cabinet.
Feng Chengyu attended two days of meetings before returning home under the escort of the National Security Department. Qin Bao, waiting anxiously, rushed downstairs upon seeing him get out of the car.
“Are you going?” Qin Bao grabbed his hand, answering his own question before Feng Chengyu could. “You will go.”
Regardless of Tuduo’s intentions or Feng Chengyu’s willingness, this was already a done deal. Besides, Qin Bao just knew that Feng Chengyu would definitely go.
Feng Chengyu asked, “Do you want me to go?”
The image of Feng Chengyu shot in the abdomen, lying in a pool of blood, was vivid. Everyone knew the Shanger of this mission, and Shu Helan and Mr. Qin had analyzed it for him.
But Qin Bao remained calm, “Of course I want you to go. We’re not cowards. But I will suggest to the Empire that at least a military unit should be sent to protect you. You’re a civilian, after all.”
“Makes sense.” Feng Chengyu asked, “But in what capacity will you suggest this?”
Qin Bao: “…Your husband.”
Feng Chengyu smiled.
Qin Bao got a bit riled up, “Legal spouse! It’s totally reasonable for me to suggest this as your legal spouse, right?! Do I need to be a general first?”
Of course, it’s reasonable.
In fact, Qin Bao didn’t need to stand outside the National Security Department with a banner. Everything was already arranged. Although Feng Chengyu was now a civilian, the matter was significant. The Empire’s government took his safety very seriously, with the cabinet even unanimously agreeing and planning to deploy mech troops.
One night, Qin Bao received a Dingxun message from Tu Yisen. He was probably on vacation and couldn’t reveal anything, but he couldn’t resist showing off, so he mysteriously sent part of his ID card: Imperial Mecha Division, 11th Battalion. Wow, the hint couldn’t be clearer. This was a dream development, and Tu Yisen nailed it!
However, since many details still needed to be finalized, Qin Bao couldn’t tell Shan Yiming and simply said, “Work is work, life is life. He can separate the two very well.”
Shan Yiming didn’t press further and winked, “Aren’t you afraid he’ll be angry if you ask him to watch my race?”
Qin Bao asked what he meant.
Shan Yiming said, “Last time I visited Grandpa Qin and met him at the hospital. Your assistant mistook me for your boyfriend. Tsk, you should’ve seen his face.”
Qin Bao knew about this and had been scolded by Feng Chengyu for it.
But he gave Feng Chengyu face in public, scoffing and accusing Shan Yiming, “You’re just projecting your petty thoughts.”
“Believe it or not, it’s great if you can really invite him.” Shan Yiming laughed heartily, “Let me show him what I’ve got.”
Feng Chengyu actually agreed to go.
At that time, Qin Bao and Feng Chengyu had just finished watching a movie and were walking to a restaurant.
A year later, “The Seaside Guido” was finally released. As an art film, it filled the New Year’s cinema schedule, receiving critical and popular acclaim. Qin Bao’s performance in the movie was commendable.
Watching his performance on the big screen with Feng Chengyu for the first time, Qin Bao felt a bit shy, especially recalling how someone counted forty-seven instances of the word “brother” in the script.
Feng Chengyu watched attentively, appreciating every expression of Qin Bao on screen. He clearly remembered that count, occasionally looking back at Qin Bao during his crisp “brother” lines with a teasing glint in his eyes.
Oh no, Qin Bao thought, I’m in trouble again…
Walking along the riverside path, Qin Bao asked while walking backward, “Shan Yiming gave me a few tickets to his race. Would you like to come with me?”
Qin Bao’s hair had grown a bit, with silver earrings he liked hanging on his ears, wearing a black coat similar to Feng Chengyu’s. His eyes were clear and a bit rebellious, speaking in a proud tone.
This scene strangely overlapped with the boy in a black hoodie walking backward under the restaurant years ago, squinting up at the building. It also overlapped with the simple boy running along the long beach in the movie.
Qin Bao had a thousand faces: handsome, pure, enchanting, sexy… countless styles creating countless versions of him. But the one in front of Feng Chengyu was always the most genuine, occasionally feisty yet very obedient.
Feng Chengyu pulled him closer, asking, “What date?”
“On the 25th.” Qin Bao’s fingers intertwined with Feng Chengyu’s, the wedding ring pressing against Feng Chengyu’s finger. “At the Capital Sports Center, where our school used to hold rugby matches.”
“Sure,” Feng Chengyu said, “I should be free.”
Qin Bao said, “Shan Yiming said he wants to show off to you, make you impressed.”
Feng Chengyu remained calm, merely curving his lips, “Good luck to him.”
After walking a short distance, Qin Bao was thinking that since he had several tickets and An Qingyan liked to watch these exciting games, he might as well invite the two dads to go together. Suddenly, he realized that he was near the venue of that year.
Feng Chengyu noticed too, “Want to take a look?” They thought of it at the same time. Qin Bao said, “Sure.”
The sports center was huge. With no events going on, the surroundings seemed deserted.
They walked to the entrance of the arena. Compared to a few years ago, it had been renovated and changed significantly, but Feng Chengyu quickly identified the general location from back then.
Feng Chengyu said, “I found you here.”
Qin Bao, having no sense of direction, was puzzled, “Really?”
“Yeah, you were carrying a backpack, wearing a mask and hat in such hot weather,” Feng Chengyu said, “You were almost fainting from hunger, still cursing.”
Qin Bao had no memory of this, “Who was I cursing?”
“Probably indiscriminate attacks,” Feng Chengyu laughed, “I fed you a caramel candy and carried you over there.”
Feng Chengyu looked in a direction.
Such a proud and elegant person, born to be in the spotlight. One could already imagine on the day he boards the negotiation ship, millions of eyes will be on him.
Feng Chengyu continued, “I stayed with you for a while, then Shan Yiming arrived.” Turning back, he met Qin Bao’s gaze.
Qin Bao didn’t want him to notice he often stole glances at him, blushing slightly, naturally saying, “You left as soon as Shan Yiming arrived, buying me takoyaki before you left. I don’t like takoyaki.”
“Now I know,” Feng Chengyu squeezed his hand and continued, “I left because he said he was your brother.”
Qin Bao: “?”
Qin Bao, dissatisfied, said, “He calls me Brother Bao.”
It turned out that’s how Shan Yiming introduced himself back then. Qin Bao remembered telling Feng Chengyu before that Shan Yiming was like a brother to him.
Wait.
Qin Bao suddenly sensed what Feng Chengyu was hung up on. Could it be that such a grown man still cared about such trivial things?
“You just believed him?” Qin Bao was speechless, then had a thought, “If no one had come to take care of me that day, would you have left?”
Feng Chengyu countered, “What do you think?”
Qin Bao’s heart suddenly raced.
At the Jacob’s Castle reunion, Feng Chengyu once jokingly told Jacob that it was here he fell in love at first sight.
If no one had come to take care of Qin Bao, Feng Chengyu certainly wouldn’t have left. Whether it was because they were family friends, a sense of responsibility as an elder, or simply a good deed, Feng Chengyu would have stayed.
But they missed each other that way.
Their paths didn’t cross again until three years later.
They entered the arena, walking slowly along the stands.
Snow began to fall, and as night descended, the view became darker. In the cool-toned scene, they walked forward, standing side by side at the railing, as if witnessing that missed game from years ago.
They shared a long kiss.
“Feng Chengyu, you once asked me when I started liking you,” Qin Bao said. “It was when I was fifteen.”
In the quiet stands, Qin Bao revealed a secret he had never told anyone.
Across time.
In the banquet hall, amidst the clinking glasses, Mr. Qin gently touched his shoulder and said, “Qin Bao, call him brother.” The young Alpha was handsome and aloof, with a faint scent of narcissus, destined for his Omega.
This time, Qin Bao didn’t look away; he looked into Feng Chengyu’s eyes.
“From the first moment I saw you, I liked you.”
The atmosphere was perfect for a confession.

Author’s Note:
The main story is complete~
Thank you all for accompanying me over the past three months. There might be occasional revisions or bug fixes, so please ignore them if you see any. Since the word count for the ranking isn’t finished yet, I’ll first update the paid extras (any unfinished parts will also be addressed in the extras), followed by the free extras. According to platform regulations, the free extras will also be updated here and will be posted as author’s notes, so please don’t block them!
If there’s any extra content you’d like to see, feel free to leave suggestions! Except for pregnancy and childbirth! I really can’t write those! QAQ
A few words from me: This book has its shortcomings because I was too eager to follow the “Pride and Tsundere” theme from the “Asteroid” extra, but the extra was short and had many limitations, and it was written five years ago, so my writing mindset and views have changed a lot since then. Writing this has been quite challenging, but also strangely fulfilling. I feel like if I change too much, they wouldn’t be themselves anymore. Xiao Feng and Xiao Bao are set in my heart, and I can’t accept them being any different. So I’ve written this both painfully and joyfully.
I’ve received all your criticisms and suggestions and fully accept them. Your encouragement has also been a huge motivation for me to keep updating. Thank you so much to everyone who has loved Xiao Feng and Xiao Bao all this time! Bow!
