YA Ch62: Kiss
Lu Yu affectionately nuzzled against Ming Yan’s palm on his cheek. “Is that all?”
Ming Yan nodded firmly.
Lu Yu lowered his eyes, looking at the small square photo on the plush carpet, and said slowly, “Then I think I can accept it.”
In this room as warm as spring, in his lover’s embrace, hearing this truth stripped of all malice and thoroughly annotated, Lu Yu felt that he could accept it.
“I can… accept this,” Lu Yu repeated, confirming to himself that he wasn’t mistaken. He sniffed and then asked, “Then why did Lu Dayu give the Lu family three million?”
Ming Yan furrowed his brows. “That’s why I didn’t want you to have contact with the Lu family. They don’t want to face moral condemnation or bear the blame for mistreating you, so they will push all the faults onto you. I guess they will probably say that they helped a lot with your mother going abroad and gave a significant amount of money, certainly more than one million.”
Ming Yan couldn’t imagine someone doing this before, but after interacting with the Lu family over the years, he gradually understood their ways.
Lu Yu self-deprecatingly smiled. “It’s like redeeming a courtesan. It’s not enough to eat his money and use it; you also have to pay for the redemption.”
He laughed at himself.
Ming Yan looked at him with a pained expression, feeling a mix of sadness and amusement at this hellish joke.
“Is Lu Dayu an idiot? Why didn’t he tell you he was emotionally collapsing? You’re such a good person; only you wouldn’t hurt him…” Lu Yu lowered his head, cherishingly picked up the photo from the floor, and whispered, “I’m also an idiot.”
Ming Yan took the photo back and hung it up again. “At that time, my young master temper might not have been reliable.”
Lu Yu shook his head. “When I was in junior high, I had a very good friend. We used to walk to school together since it was on the way. Later, he moved to the opposite direction and started walking with another boy. Their relationship grew closer, so I guessed he probably didn’t want to play with me anymore. I cut off ties with him before he had the chance to say it.”
After saying this, Lu Yu suddenly realized that he might have some psychological issues. This wasn’t something that developed after Lu Dayu’s internal struggles from writing in seclusion after twenty; it had existed since he was younger.
So it wasn’t that Lu Dayu suddenly became an idiot; it was that he had always had problems—he was an unreasonable lunatic.
“If people were absolutely rational, what would be the difference from AI?” Ming Yan sat back down on the carpet and patted Lu Yu’s head. “Moreover, even the AI balloon people you keep aren’t absolutely rational.”
Lu Yu looked up at him.
There were many things he wanted to say. He wanted to say, I might have some psychological issues, and I should see Que De for treatment; he wanted to ask, if I were mentally ill, would you still love me?
These silly thoughts surged at his lips but couldn’t be spoken. In the end, he only softly said, “I really like you. Can you forgive Lu Dayu?”
Ming Yan met his gaze, his eyes flickering. After a moment, as if making a decision, he said, “I forgive you, Lu Yu, for breaking up with me, being inconsistent, and leaving me in that phone booth on a rainy day. Also, forgive the younger me for not having more patience and asking one more question.”
He extended his hand, hooked Lu Yu’s pinky with his own, and gently shook it, asking softly as if soothing a child, “Okay?”
Lu Yu’s eyes reddened again. “I’m so embarrassed. The strong attacks in Jinjiang are all bleeding without tears.”
Ming Yan laughed, tilted his head, and slowly leaned in to kiss Lu Yu’s pursed lips.
Lu Yu immediately felt like he was under a spell, staying in the same position with Ming Yan’s pinky hooked; his eyes widened helplessly.
A fleeting kiss, a touch and leave.
As Ming Yan was about to pull away, Lu Yu suddenly came to his senses, hugged him tightly, and deepened the kiss, holding Ming Yan’s head with one hand.
The slightly cool lips were softer than cotton candy and sweeter than honey water.
What was initially a bit sad was completely healed by this sweet kiss.
Lu Yu was exceptionally excited all afternoon. He was so happy. After enduring a wave of “past truth” attacks, maintaining his sanity and clarity, he received a true love kiss that could make an immortal ascend immediately or cure a dying person’s ailments.
He dashed back and forth in the living room, performing one-handed flips for his sons, and sent a message to Lao Yang:
[I am now a salted fish awakened by a prince’s kiss! I’m not afraid of anyone; the Lu family is just a minor concern.]
Until bedtime, he was still kicking his legs on the bed. When Ming Yan lay down, Lu Yu immediately snuggled up to him, demanding a goodnight kiss.
“We’ve kissed already, so we can kiss every day from now on,” Lu Yu said confidently, like a wife who had secured her position in the family, starting to set rules for Mr. Ming. “Once in the morning, once at noon, and once in the evening. Other times are random.”
Ming Yan helplessly replied, “Do you think of it as medicine?”
“Yes, if I don’t get it, I’ll die,” Lu Yu said pitifully, offering his lips.
Ming Yan gave him a perfunctory peck and raised his hand to turn off the lights.
Lu Yu immediately caught the moist lips and hugged Ming Yan tightly, who was trying to escape. In just one afternoon, his skills had advanced dramatically, learning how to entwine and cling.
The advancement in technique inevitably brought about additional effects.
Their breaths grew increasingly rapid, and it seemed they were about to set off a spark.
Lu Yu nuzzled Ming Yan’s nose and asked in a hushed voice, “Yan-ge, can I… can I?”
Ming Yan took a few breaths, lightly laughed, and tugged on his ear. “Do you know how?”
Lu Yu froze. “I…”
A sudden “tsk” sound came from above.
Lu Yu looked up and saw the president ball sitting on the head of the bed with his arms crossed.
“What are you doing here?”
“Father, I’m here too,” Lu Dongdong, who had hidden under the bed, peeked out and waved a little fork.
Lu Yu wiped his face, picked up both balls, and threw them out. Clearing his throat, he said, “I’m going to study.”
“Hahaha…” Ming Yan laughed so hard he lay on the bed, calling out to Lu Yu, who was preparing to study all night in the study. “Okay, I was just kidding. You have to work tomorrow, so stop making a fuss and come to bed.”
Lu Yu puffed up his cheeks, returned to bed, and cuddled up to Ming Yan to sleep.
He had a very long dream.
In the dream, he returned to the familiar old western-style house of the Lu family. He vaguely felt something was wrong because after Lu Tingze was born, his adoptive parents thought the old house was bad for children and moved to a modern villa. When he realized he was dreaming, the hazy dreamscape suddenly became clear.
Lu Yu opened the door and saw Father Lu and Mother Lu sitting at the long dining table, glaring at him.
Mother Lu spoke quickly: “I advise you not to look for your biological mother. She doesn’t want to see you. She was impregnated after being abused, and if it weren’t for us helping her and taking care of you, this illegitimate child, her life would have been ruined.”
Father Lu slapped a bill in front of his face, the numbers on it blurred and unreadable in the twisted dreamscape: “Look, this is the money we gave her over the years. We paid for her ticket abroad and tuition fees. If you want to settle accounts with us, can you even figure it out?”
Lu Yu instinctively denied, shaking his head, and the scene before him swirled like oil paint on water, forming a colorful whirlpool: “It’s not like this. Yan-ge told me not to believe it, so I don’t believe it!”
He shouted in rebuttal and suddenly woke up.
“Huh?” The last bit of dream talk was probably shouted out loud, and Ming Yan, who was sleeping beside him, was woken up with a soft, drowsy hum.
Lu Yu recalled his dream, shivered, and snuggled up to Ming Yan, who was still half-asleep, and began to give kisses to his flushed face, making “chu chu chu” sounds.
Ming Yan, with his eyes still closed, said lazily, “You haven’t washed your face or brushed your teeth. Can you really kiss me?”
Lu Yu smacked his lips in a pretentious manner: “That’s the exact flavor I’m after!”
Ming Yan laughed, reaching out to push him.
Lu Dongdong came to knock on the door: “Father, there’s a call. It’s from Uncle Lu.”
The sound of the merman ball was heard outside the door, accompanied by the ringing of the phone.
“Hang up,” Ming Yan said to the merman ball outside the door.
“Okay.” Dongdong responded, and the ringing stopped abruptly.
Lu Yu looked at Ming Yan, who was so decisive, in bewilderment.
Ming Yan lay on his side, supporting his head with one hand, and tapped Lu Yu’s nose: “If you can hold out for a week without contacting the Lu family, I’ll let you do that thing you want to do but haven’t done before.”
Lu Yu followed the finger tapping his nose, looking cross-eyed.
The thing he wanted to do?
His eyes suddenly lit up, and Lu Yu jumped out of bed and opened the door, saying to the merman ball floating at the door: “Dongdong, block all the Lu family members, including the Lu family’s driver, nanny, gardener, company employees, cleaning staff, and the scrap collector downstairs. Anyone who tries to contact me is useless!”
