SGT CH147: Couldn’t Help But Bully the Shadow Guard

For the first time, Shadow One wanted to run away when the Master favored him.

Mousse noticed Shadow One’s gaze falling on the attic. He coughed dryly, wanting to explain:

“Don’t worry, I just said it casually. I won’t really do that to you…”

Such a two-story attic, with nothing but railings on the second floor for cover, could essentially be called semi-open-air.

Doing that kind of thing to Shadow One in such an environment was too much; Shadow One might not be able to accept it.

Just as Mousse was thinking about how to gloss over this topic, he heard Shadow One say softly:

“I am fine with anything.”

Mousse: “Huh?”

“I am fine with anything. As long as you want me, anywhere is fine.”

Shadow One lowered his eyes, appearing very calm and submissive, except for his trembling eyelashes which revealed that his heart was not as calm as he appeared.

Mousse looked at Shadow One’s opening and closing lips, his mind going blank for a moment.

Shadow One meant… it’s okay to do it on the semi-open-air attic?

Mousse’s breathing hitched slightly, his Adam’s apple bobbed, and he almost wanted to agree.

Then he remembered something and shook his head vigorously to clear his mind.

No, no. He brought Shadow One out to treat his illness, not to torment him in a different place.

Possessing Shadow One in this kind of semi-open-air environment, what’s the difference from making Shadow One stay naked in the hall back then?

He can’t make mistake after mistake.

“Haha, this sun is so strong. Let’s not stand in the courtyard. Let’s go inside.”

Mousse changed the subject awkwardly and hurriedly pulled Shadow One into the room.

Shadow One lowered his eyes somewhat disappointedly but still followed His Majesty closely into the room.

Mousse sat down at the table, feeling a bit parched, so he picked up the teapot on the table and poured a cup of tea.

The tea had been prepared by the steward not long ago and was still warm.

Feeling the warmth of the teacup, Mousse was about to bring it to his lips when Shadow One stopped him.

“Your Ma… You cannot. It hasn’t been tested for poison yet.”

Shadow One frowned slightly, his expression somewhat grave.

After all, these were things outside the palace; he didn’t trust them.

“Oh, right. Almost forgot.”

Mousse put down the teacup somewhat regretfully.

Although he didn’t think the people hired in this residence would harm him.

But the experience of having his food tampered with frequently in childhood had accustomed him to vigilance.

It was never wrong to be extra careful.

As soon as Mousse put down the teacup, Shadow One picked it up and took a small sip to test it.

“Hey, you…” Mousse didn’t even have time to stop him.

Even when Shadow One was by his side back then, he would first use tools like silver needles to test for poison, and only proceed to taste test if no problems were detected. Who would eat it directly?

Shadow One apologized in a low voice.

“Please forgive me. I don’t carry the relevant tools on me, so I can only act this way.”

After being stripped of his shadow guard identity, Shadow One lost all personal items, including his hidden weapons and various tools.

Of course, he wouldn’t have tools for poison testing on him.

Mousse was in the wrong here, so naturally, he couldn’t say anything.

He only looked at him worriedly and said:

“If you feel unwell, be sure to spit it out as soon as possible.”

“Yes.”

Shadow One agreed.

After a moment, he sensed the state of his body and said to His Majesty:

“Not poisonous. It is safe to use.”

“Oh, okay.”

Mousse had long lost the parched feeling from before, but still picked up the teacup and took a sip.

Noticing Shadow One’s gaze falling on the teacup in his hand, Mousse realized he was drinking from the cup Shadow One had drunk from.

“Cough.” Mousse coughed dryly and explained: “This is safer.”

Who knew if other cups were smeared with poison? The cup Shadow One personally tested was safer.

Mousse found a suitable excuse for his behavior.

Shadow One also thought what His Majesty said made sense and didn’t think much of it.

[As expected of Little Cupcake, his mouth is as stubborn as ever.]

[Little Cupcake is the kind of person who… even if he feels super good, he would pull up his pants while stubbornly commenting “just average.”]

[Little Cupcake: Just average (pulls up pants).]

[It’s still that our system has too few functions, only a live broadcast function. If only there was a mind-reading function, the task progress would soar.]

[How dare you define Little Cupcake as not being stubborn in his thoughts?]

[…I give up. That’s something he could do.]

[It’s fine, as long as Brother X isn’t stubborn in his thoughts.]

Mousse took a moment to glance at the light screen and found the text on it arranging him.

What do you mean stubborn?

Where was he stubborn?

Those were all his true thoughts… one of them.

Mousse was angered and wanted to argue with the light screen, but due to Shadow One’s presence, it wasn’t appropriate to speak, so he could only hold it in.

The more he held it in, the angrier he got.

Shadow One was dazed by the blush rising on the Emperor’s face. It took him a while to calm down before asking:

“Is it too stuffy inside? Should I order someone to fetch ice?”

Mousse paused slightly.

It was indeed a bit hot, but mostly he was angry at the light screen’s arrangement.

They dared to arrange him pulling up pants and getting up from Shadow One? Can’t they see nothing?

“Using ice outside the palace is inconvenient. No need to fetch ice. Let’s walk outside.”

Mousse got up and walked out, Shadow One following closely behind him.

The sun was too strong, and there was no place to hide in the shade in the courtyard. Eventually, they followed the breeze up to the attic.

Standing on the second-floor attic, leaning on the railing and gazing into the distance, the view was indeed good.

“That direction is the imperial palace.” Mousse pointed it out to Shadow One.

Too far away to see clearly.

But those majestic palace walls and halls, even from a distance, could still give people a shock.

“Does it look like a cage?” Mousse asked softly.

Shadow One couldn’t answer.

After a long silence, he still advised in a low voice:

“You are the master of the world, the master of that palace city.”

In the past, all princes, including those around them, were trapped beasts in a cage.

But now it was different.

His Majesty was the final victor.

He should rightfully enjoy the world and be the master of all things under heaven.

Nothing could imprison him.

Mousse gazed into the distance and didn’t refute.

He was the master of that palace city, but also its captive.

The moment he ascended the throne, he was imprisoned there for life.

He once wanted to bind Shadow One to his side forever, letting Shadow One be imprisoned with him.

He also once wanted to let Shadow One leave, giving Shadow One freedom.

“Do you like this house?”

Mousse asked.

Shadow One lowered his eyes to look at every grass and tree in the courtyard below, a trace of warmth appearing in his eyes.

“Like it.”

The scenes described by His Majesty were too beautiful.

He couldn’t help falling in love with this house.

“I give it to you.” Mousse said.

Actually, this house had long belonged to Shadow One’s name.

Precisely speaking, it belonged to “Ike’s” name.

Thinking of how Shadow One resolutely rejected the name and identity he bestowed back then, Mousse felt a headache.

But he still wanted to give these to Shadow One.

These were the escape routes he planned for Shadow One when he was still a prince, full of his most sincere feelings for Shadow One.

He had planned escape routes for Shadow One and considered Shadow One’s future.

Regain freedom, enter the army, rise through the ranks under his guidance, and finally become the Great General of All Armies.

This future had been abandoned by Shadow One.

But at least, Shadow One could still have the escape route he prepared for him.

Hearing His Majesty wanted to give this house to him, what rose first in Shadow One’s heart was not joy, but unease.

“…I stay in the palace all year round and don’t need a residence outside the palace.”

As Shadow One spoke, thinking His Majesty didn’t want him to occupy the side hall of the bedchamber anymore, he hurriedly said:

“Actually, I don’t need a dwelling. Corners, under eaves, or on stone steps… I can live anywhere. Your Majesty can take back the side hall.”

Mousse: “…”

Couldn’t give the house away, and he even wants to return the side hall.

Although he had decided to let Shadow One live with him in the main hall, eating and living together, this wasn’t a reason to return the side hall.

He had to give Shadow One a place of his own.

“That room in the side hall is yours forever. Zhen will not take it back. You must also accept this house for Zhen. Since Zhen gave it to you, it is yours.”

Mousse used the Emperor’s self-address, and his tone carried a commanding flavor.

Shadow One couldn’t refuse anymore and could only accept.

“Thank Your Majesty for the reward.”

Shadow One performed a gratitude salute, but there was no joy in his tone; instead, it carried worry and unease.

“Your Majesty, can I still return to the palace with you?”

Shadow One asked in a low voice, his gaze heavy.

“Of course you have to go back with me!”

Although the environment outside the palace was more suitable for treating Shadow One, Mousse couldn’t accept Shadow One leaving him for a long time; he would go crazy.

“If you want to leave the palace, tell Zhen, and Zhen will take you out. As for other things… don’t even think about it.”

He would absolutely not give Shadow One a chance to commit suicide for him.

Hearing this, Shadow One breathed a heavy sigh of relief, “Thank Your Majesty.”

Seeing him about to kowtow again, Mousse hurriedly pulled him up.

“Get up quickly. Didn’t I say no kneeling? Also, no calling ‘Your Majesty’ outside.”

“Yes, thank… Sisi.”

Hearing Shadow One whispering his name, Mousse felt his ears heat up.

Moreover, the two characters “Sisi” always felt like they carried a different kind of intimacy.

His mother died early, and the old Emperor was such a person; no one gave him a nickname, and no one could call his nickname.

The nickname “Sisi” was given by himself.

Now hearing Shadow One call it, it actually felt like being pampered by a close elder.

“Brother…”

Mousse couldn’t help hugging Shadow One, burying his head on his shoulder and calling softly: “Brother Ike.”

Shadow One stiffened all over.

Didn’t dare to move, let alone respond.

Extremely at a loss.

“You, you… How can you call me Brother? I, this slave…”

Mousse felt Shadow One’s brain was about to overload.

“But you are my brother.”

Mousse took out the forged household registration he carried with him, waved it in front of him, and said:

“Look, we are the closest brothers.”

Depending on each other, supporting each other, cherishing each other.

This was the brotherly relationship in Mousse’s fantasy.

As for his group of blood relatives who all wanted him dead, Mousse didn’t acknowledge them as his brothers.

Shadow One stared at the household registration page, his face flushing red.

Even knowing it was just forged content, it made his heart beat like a drum, restless.

Mousse was attracted by his flushed face.

Such scenery usually only appeared on Shadow One when he favored him hard.

The overly rare scenery made Mousse unable to resist leaning forward and kissing Shadow One on the lips.

“Brother, your lips are so dry. Let me help you lick them. Hmm, your body is so hot. Is it too warm?”

Shadow One was even more ashamed.

For the first time, he wanted to run away when the Master favored him.

But he ultimately dared not escape, nor could he bear to escape. Finally, he was pinned down by the Master on the couch on the inner side of the attic.

The breeze entered through the hall unhindered, brushing past Mousse’s hair and Shadow One’s wide-open chest.

Mousse didn’t want to do excessive things to Shadow One on the semi-open-air attic.

But Shadow One appeared too tempting, making him unable to resist bullying him.

How could someone be shy like this just because of a “Brother”?
