SGT CH114: A Very Niche Fetish
◎Dating a mutated plant vs. dating a Zombie Emperor◎
Aix had run too far. Even with the mutated plants searching with all their might, it took nearly a week to find news of him.
“In Haicheng.”
What a familiar place name.
After all the twists and turns, he still went to Haicheng.
Mousse was a little worried.
The psychic ability user in the intel was in Haicheng.
Now, Aix, the Zombie Emperor who had lost his psychic ability, had also gone there…
Mousse immediately set off for Haicheng with the mutated plants.
But before that, he had to refuel the RV.
It wasn’t until Aix left that Mousse realized the RV needed charging, refueling, and water refilling.
Previously, all these were solved by Aix’s abilities or the reserves in his space.
Now, reverting to an ordinary person overnight, his psychic ability was of no use for these tasks, so he could only figure it out himself.
Electricity was okay; there were solar panels, and it was enough if used sparingly.
Fuel and water had to be found by himself.
Fortunately, when it came to finding things, the mutated plants were very adept.
The apocalypse was the world of plants. Even in cities once covered in reinforced concrete, greenery was now everywhere.
The mutated plants could always bring back the supplies he needed.
They guarded him just like Aix once did.
Not just finding supplies, but also keeping watch at night and dealing with zombies.
In the week since Aix left, Mousse saw more zombies than in the past year combined.
This made Mousse think of the time he was kept by Aix’s side after Aix turned into a zombie.
During that month, although he occasionally heard zombie roars, not a single zombie appeared in front of him, except for Aix.
The journey was as peaceful as before the apocalypse.
Obviously, it was Aix, the Zombie Emperor with psychic abilities, who was intentionally controlling it.
Aix did so much for him, yet never let him know.
After Aix left, the mutated plants quietly took over his work.
Most of the zombies on the road were dealt with by the mutated plants in advance.
When Mousse woke up, he could only see the remains that had been drained dry by the mutated plants.
For the small number that stumbled in front of Mousse, he would stop the mutated plants preparing to strike and try to deal with them using his psychic ability.
He hadn’t been in touch with his ability for over a year.
The current psychic ability was far more powerful than when it was separated from his body.
He needed some time to explore and adapt, as well as develop new uses.
Mousse tried using his psychic ability to explore the brains of zombies and awaken their consciousness.
But he failed without exception.
This made Mousse feel down and oppressed.
Even the good news of learning Aix’s location couldn’t completely improve his mood.
If he couldn’t awaken Aix’s consciousness, what use was finding him?
Just to watch helplessly as Aix, turned into a walking corpse, appeared before him and then be killed by an Aix who had only predatory instincts left?
A turning point appeared as they approached Haicheng.
With the cooperation of the mutated plants, Mousse captured a high-level zombie that had mutated not long ago.
He sorted out the zombie’s chaotic mental domain and awakened his gradually collapsing consciousness.
The zombification of the body could not be reversed, but at least the other party became capable of communication.
Inside the RV.
A disheveled man, tied up like a dumpling by mutated plants, sat on the floor.
His gaze swept over the supplies piled up in the car, and obvious surprise and confusion appeared in his crimson eyes.
“You have so many supplies; you could go anywhere. Why are you so set on going to Haicheng?”
The man’s voice was hoarse and vague, as if he was still getting used to speaking.
He obviously knew something.
Mousse heard it and feigned ignorance, “What’s wrong with Haicheng? Why can’t I go?”
“Haicheng was occupied by zombies long ago, and recently a Zombie Emperor has appeared there.”
The man looked up at Mousse, frowned, and said:
“An ability user with tender skin and flesh like yours bumping into that will be eaten without even crumbs left.”
Mousse knew about the Zombie Emperor, but…
“Haicheng was occupied by zombies long ago? What does that mean?”
The man looked surprised.
“You really don’t know anything.”
“The more populated the city before the apocalypse, the faster it fell afterward. Haicheng is just like that.
“In the early days of the apocalypse, Haicheng completely became a dead city. Only some ability-user convoys confident in their strength dared to go in and explore, but most of them perished inside…”
Mousse indeed knew nothing about this.
Hearing the other party’s words, he frowned.
If Haicheng had long become a dead city, where did the news that “there is a psychic ability user in Haicheng” come from?
While Mousse pondered the truth of the man’s words, the person on the ground was also sizing him up.
A mutated vine handed Mousse a cup of tea brewed from their flowers and leaves.
Then it circled around Mousse, guarding him, constantly vigilant against potential dangers.
Mousse casually took the tea, tested the temperature, and took a sip.
The man was confused.
“Are you the prophesied psychic ability user, or a plant-type ability user?”
“Prophesied?” Mousse paused in his tea drinking.
“Half a month ago, an ability user with the power of ‘precognition’ made a prophecy that a psychic ability user would appear in Haicheng.”
Prophecy. That news was actually a prophecy.
Mousse suddenly understood something.
Perhaps the psychic ability user Aix was looking for didn’t exist in the beginning.
Until Aix dug out the crystal core and gave it to him…
The psychic ability user about to appear in Haicheng was him.
The psychic crystal core Aix initially wanted to obtain was right inside his own body.
Aix left the base because of the prophecy.
And to stop Aix from attacking that “psychic ability user,” he revealed the truth.
Knowing everything, Aix dug out the crystal core and returned it to him, making the prophecy come true.
A single prophecy had actually led them through twists and turns to this point.
Mousse had mixed feelings and couldn’t speak.
The man on the ground guessed:
“Are you a dual-element ability user? Awakening two abilities in one person… unheard of.”
“No.”
He was certainly not a dual-element ability user.
Even Aix, who possessed many abilities, wasn’t considered a dual-element ability user. His true ability was “Plunder.”
The others were merely abilities he plundered, unable to be leveled up like normal abilities.
“They are not my ability.”
Mousse looked at the mutated vine wrapped around his shoulder, raised his hand to stroke it gently, his expression indescribably gentle.
“They are… a part of my lover.”
A part of Aix could be considered Aix, his lover.
Mousse’s gaze was soft, filled with affection.
The man on the ground fell into a daze.
His expression cracked.
It was hard for his stiff, zombified face to make such an exaggerated expression.
[Zombie Man: Having been in the apocalypse so long, what scene haven’t I seen?]
[Also Zombie Man: I really haven’t seen this scene.jpg]
[Vine lover, plant lover, indeed a very niche fetish.]
[Didn’t feel it at first, but thinking back now… when it comes to playing, X-bro really knows how to play.]
[Even when his main body leaves, he has to leave a part of his special clone behind to monopolize Little Cake.]
Mousse saw the bullet comments but didn’t understand.
He had long been accustomed to getting along with mutated plants, and knowing the consciousness in the mutated plants came from Aix, he indulged them even more.
He didn’t think there was anything wrong with his address or actions.
Knowing that the current Haicheng didn’t have the so-called psychic ability user, or even many humans.
Mousse was somewhat relieved.
At least he didn’t have to worry about Aix going on a killing spree in Haicheng.
He still had to go to Haicheng.
Even if the city was full of zombies and extremely dangerous.
He had to go to Aix’s side to sort out his spirit and stabilize his consciousness.
And then… beat him up severely.
·
When Mousse arrived in Haicheng, it was just past noon when the sunlight was strongest.
Outside the city, he couldn’t hear many zombie roars; it was hard to imagine this was a dead city with only zombies left.
But when Mousse released his spiritual power to scout the path, he sensed a vast number of zombies hidden in buildings and shadows.
The number of zombies in Haicheng exceeded his imagination.
If he waited any longer until nightfall, it would be even more dangerous.
Mousse chose to set off immediately, driving into the city.
The Zombie Man he captured earlier was still in the car, bound and guarded by the mutated plants.
Because he had already mutated into a zombie, if he left Mousse’s spiritual grooming, he would gradually revert to a zombie state with no consciousness and only hunting instincts.
Mousse couldn’t let him leave.
Right now, the man was sleeping against the car door with no regard for his image.
Waking up to find they had entered Haicheng, he wasn’t particularly panicked.
He felt his current state was the most suitable for surviving the apocalypse.
Having both thinking consciousness and being a zombie, zombies wouldn’t treat him as a hunting target.
He didn’t even have to look everywhere for food to fill his stomach; zombies were quite resistant to hunger.
But he was a little worried for this psychic ability user.
If the other party perished in Haicheng, no one would help him stabilize his consciousness.
Becoming a walking corpse without thought wasn’t any different from being dead.
The Zombie Man sighed for the thirty-ninth time.
“Sigh, why are you so set on seeking death in Haicheng?”
Mousse had heard this sentence many times and didn’t want to pay attention to him.
Probably because he was getting closer to Aix, expectation and excitement rose in his heart.
He couldn’t help but reply: “My lover is here.”
“Huh?”
The Zombie Man turned his head to look at the mutated plants binding him, and the car full of flowers.
“Could it be… there is a large mutated plant in Haicheng?”
Mousse: “…”
The other party seemed to have decided that he had a special fetish and was dating various mutated plants.
Mousse couldn’t say which was more outrageous: dating a mutated plant or dating a Zombie Emperor.
Neither fit the public perception; both were weird.
And explaining it was troublesome.
So he simply stopped talking.
Mousse drove the car into the urban area.
Many zombies gathered in the shadows by the roadside.
They stared at the RV driving on the road, faintly smelling a sweet scent, wanting to swarm it, but their cognition was affected by the mutated plants clinging to the RV and the spreading spiritual power. In the end, they just stood there blankly.
Mousse continuously expanded the range of his spiritual perception, searching for Aix’s existence.
Suddenly, he sensed something and his eyes widened abruptly.
He found Aix.
In the center of the city.
The Zombie Emperor, dressed in black, was hunting an A-rank fire zombie.
His movements were effortless, like a cat playing with a mouse.
Various abilities appeared alternately, coordinating with each other, suppressing that A-rank zombie completely.
Soon, that high-level zombie was bound to the ground by an electrified water prison and turned into a pile of charcoal.
The Zombie Emperor manipulated the water flow to extract the crystal core.
Suddenly, as if sensing something, he jerked his head around.
Across many buildings, he looked in the direction where Mousse was.
