Chapter 10: “Let’s Fight.”

“Come in, why are you still standing there in the back?”

Mu Si turned back, saw Ax frozen in the corridor, and reached out to pull him. He couldn’t budge him.

Oh? Daring to resist now?

Mu Si raised an eyebrow in surprise.

Ax snapped back to attention. Without waiting for the Prince Consort to pull a second time, he proactively moved forward with the force of the Prince Consort’s hand and knelt at the Prince Consort’s feet.

“Your Highness, was my service not good enough?”

Ax asked, his face pale, his heart filled with dread.

Before, when he was locked in the punishment room, he was all alone and didn’t care about life or death, so he naturally wasn’t afraid.

Now, with the Zerg egg, with the motivation to live, and with something to care about…

Even for the sake of the egg in his abdomen, he couldn’t be locked back in the punishment room.

It didn’t matter what happened to him, but the Zerg egg couldn’t be harmed.

“Please give me another chance… You can make me do anything.”

Ax grabbed the corner of the Prince Consort’s clothes, pleading in a low voice.

Mu Si was still utterly confused, not understanding what had happened.

He turned to look at the room behind him, remembered that this was where the female zerg had been confined before, and only then realized that Ax had misunderstood.

He intended to torment Ax.

But not by locking him back up.

“Get up first.” Mu Si reached out, trying to pull Ax up.

Ax saw the Prince Consort’s action of turning to look at the punishment room, understanding that he hadn’t given up the idea.

Seeing the Prince Consort reach out to pull him, he grew even more nervous, his body instinctively resisting.

Ax’s panicked gaze fell on the metal wall of the corridor.

He suddenly remembered the Prince Consort leaving the door open last time, making him serve at the doorway.

“Your Highness, I can… I can serve you here.”

Ax leaned closer, opening his mouth to bite the Prince Consort’s button.

The female zerg suddenly pressed against him, a warm sensation coming over him, a tingling rush straight to his head. Mu Si was so startled he almost jumped.

He grabbed the female zerg’s head with one hand to stop him from getting closer, and with the other, he pulled his outer garment closed and frantically backed away.

He quickly glanced at the light screen, finding that the live stream interface hadn’t even gone black, and the bullet comments were furiously flashing question marks and exclamation points.

[???]

[!!!]

[Holy cow! Is it what I think it is? Playing this big?!]

[And so practiced-looking…]

[Sure enough, you guys are doing something big when I can’t see.]

Seeing the bullet comments, Mu Si’s already flushed face immediately turned even redder.

He glared at the female zerg, who was still trying to get closer, and angrily cursed:

“Have I ever deprived you of pheromones? Why are you so impatient?!”

Ax immediately froze.

Seeing him stop moving, Mu Si seized the opportunity, scooped the female zerg up, pulled him into the room, and closed the door with a click.

Hearing the sound of the door automatically locking, Ax’s body stiffened even more, his eyes filled with desolation.

“Your Highness, it’s also your larva. Do you have no mercy for your own child?”

Ax asked in a low voice.

His words were slow, his voice very soft, without any questioning or accusation.

Because he already knew the answer.

He had sensed it long ago in his interactions with the Prince Consort—that the Prince Consort had no feelings for this Zerg egg.

Even when giving him pheromones, it was more about tormenting him and toying with him, rather than for the sake of the Zerg egg.

It was he himself who had harbored extravagant hopes.

The Prince Consort appeared before him again and again.

He looked at this incredibly beautiful male zerg, and sometimes he couldn’t help but wonder if this larva might resemble the Prince Consort…

Golden hair, tender white skin, equally delicate and beautiful.

Mu Si looked at the female zerg in confusion, completely baffled by the question.

“I am clearly very merciful.”

He had specifically researched how many pheromones a Zerg egg needed, then irrigated the female zerg with more than ten times the required amount.

Was that not enough?

Moreover, no matter how bad his relationship with Ax was, Ax was his legal female consort.

As long as this Zerg egg survived and successfully hatched, it would be his first in line successor.

He was the Prince Consort, the Crown Prince of the Empire.

His successor was equivalent to the next-next Zerg Emperor.

Mu Si really couldn’t imagine how else he should be “merciful” to this unseen Zerg egg.

The female zerg only asked that one inexplicable question, then remained silent.

He just stood there with his head bowed, his hand unconsciously protecting his abdomen, lifeless.

As if already in despair.

Let him despair, he couldn’t do more.

He couldn’t possibly be like some parents, holding books like The Hundred Greatest Inventions That Changed the Zerg Race or Three Years as an Ensign, Five Years as a Colonel, and giving this Zerg egg early education, could he?

Thinking of such a scene, Mu Si felt utterly uncomfortable.

He quickly shook his head, driving those images from his mind.

The room was empty; besides the chains previously used to bind the female zerg, there was nothing else.

Mu Si used a voice command to wake the intelligent system.

“Little i, open the equipment library.”

“Yes, Your Highness,” the voice of the central intelligence sounded in the room.

The green indicator lights on the wall flashed, and many sections of the metal floor tiles sank.

Then, large display shelves rose from underground.

In an instant, the formerly empty room was filled.

All kinds of new weapons and equipment, dazzlingly displayed, forming a small armory.

This was the room’s true appearance.

Originally, to find a place to quickly confine Ax, Mu Si had temporarily moved his weapon collection and set up a punishment room.

“Don’t you want to try them? These are all my prized possessions.” Mu Si asked the female zerg beside him.

Ax had already looked up at the sound, and then was stunned by the weapons and equipment filling the entire room.

All were top-tier weapons and equipment. The quantity obviously couldn’t compare to the military, but their richness was far beyond what the military could offer.

Many were custom-made for private individuals or special weapons that were already out of production.

And… the position of each display stand in the room was extremely reasonable, and the displayed weapons were classified and very orderly.

With his eyesight, it wasn’t hard to tell that this wasn’t a temporary setup.

Instead, it had been carefully organized and collected over a long period.

Just as the Prince Consort said, these were his prized possessions.

This place was originally the Prince Consort’s equipment collection room, not a punishment room.

Ax then realized he might have been mistaken.

The Prince Consort wasn’t going to lock him back in the “punishment room,” but rather… to show him his prized weapons and equipment?

He completely couldn’t understand the Prince Consort’s thoughts.

He had once confined a female zerg who had harmed him in an equipment room, separated by just a wall, was an armory that could be considered a small one.

Now he was so blatantly telling him, “There are many weapons here.”

Wasn’t he worried that he might…

Mu Si saw Ax had no reaction and couldn’t help but feel puzzled.

No way? No reaction to this?

What female zerg wouldn’t be tempted by a room full of weapons like this?

A normal military female should be so excited they’d pass out just from a glance.

Mu Si’s strange desire to win was piqued.

“Not interested? It’s okay, I have many more mechs in the next room. That room is larger.”

Mu Si pulled the zerg forward.

The equipment room and the mech bay were connected; they could go directly through a door.

As Mu Si approached, the metal door on the wall automatically opened.

Passing through a white-glowing light curtain, they entered the mech bay.

This room was indeed larger…

Ax looked up.

From light mechs three to five meters tall, to heavy mechs over a hundred meters tall, everything was available.

He had been in the Prince Consort’s mansion’s basement for so long and hadn’t noticed a room next door that could accommodate heavy mechs.

It used space folding and expansion technology.

Ax wasn’t surprised that the Prince Consort’s mansion could use such technology.

What surprised him was that the Prince Consort would use such technology for collecting and displaying mechs.

“Does Your Highness really like mechs?” Ax couldn’t help but ask.

Few male zergs had a fondness for mechs, and even fewer would have a dedicated mech bay at home.

And male zergs who collected mechs to the Prince Consort’s extent… were virtually unheard of.

“So-so,” Mu Si said, looking up at the mechs, his voice flat.

“Can’t say I particularly like them, but I don’t dislike them either.”

Ax looked at the room full of immeasurably valuable mechs, skeptical of the Prince Consort’s “so-so.”

Mu Si saw what he was thinking and explained:

“Male zergs’ bodies are too fragile compared to female zergs. Mechs can minimize the difference in physique to the greatest extent.”

It wasn’t that he particularly liked mechs; it was just a lack of security.

Commonly known as firepower deficiency phobia.

Therefore, he arranged the equipment room and the mech bay next to the bedroom.

Maximum security.

However, facts proved that when facing an S-class female zerg at close range, no weapon or mech was useful.

Within seven steps, the female zerg’s claws were indeed swift and precise.

Mu Si gnashed his teeth in hatred.

Ax remembered what had happened earlier and also lowered his head.

His gaze fell on the hand hanging at his side.

For some reason, his heart felt a dull, stifling pain.

Mu Si turned to look at him and suddenly said, “Let’s fight.”
