After exchanging a few words with Li Hong, Shen Qing went up to the second floor. Before he even entered the cubs’ playroom, he heard movement inside.
It was an adult’s voice.
…Mr. Zhen?

Shen Qing heard Zhen Yong asking inside, “Young Master, do you like watching cartoons (动画片 – dòng huà piān)?”

The one answering was Aozai: “What’s an ation car-toon (动发片 – dòng fā piān)?”
…With that crisp, innocent little voice, Shen Qing didn’t even need to look to picture Aozai tilting his big head in confusion while asking the question.

Inside the playroom, Aozai was sitting on the warm, clean rug, playing with a set of magnetic tiles.
The rug was a shag carpet Shen Qing had dug out from the children’s storage room yesterday. At this moment, Aozai’s entire little bottom was sunk into the soft, fluffy rug. One little leg was tucked under him, while the other stretched out straight, as he half-sprawled on the floor assembling the toy.

This magnetic tile set was a gift Uncle Zhen had just given him.
Aozai didn’t have this kind of thing among his toys before. Out of sudden novelty, he had directly started putting it together.

Originally, Zhen Yong had wanted to teach or guide Aozai on how to play with it.
But finding that the young master completely didn’t ask how to play, nor did he need teaching—just dumping it out and figuring it out himself—he simply squatted to the side and started chatting with the little master.

On the other side, Master Dodo was leaning over the small sofa, writing and drawing.
…Master Dodo was too cold and aloof. His face, which still had baby fat, was always overly serious and earnest, bearing a vague resemblance to President Gu.
This made Zhen Yong feel a sense of familiarity, yet simultaneously afraid to approach.

Furthermore, he couldn’t fathom the thoughts of this six-year-old child. Compared to Master Duo, Master Ao was clearly much more approachable.
Although Master Ao, immersed in playing with his toys, often didn’t notice him speaking.
However, the sight of this little milk dumpling sitting on the fluffy rug was simply too adorable. Just sitting beside him and watching naturally filled an adult with a lot of patience.

Not to mention, Master Ao was truly smart.
No wonder President Gu’s attitude had changed recently.
Children truly were healing!
Especially such well-behaved, independent little dumplings who didn’t cry or make a fuss, and looked so cute!
…How did I never realize these two young masters were so fun to be around?

Zhen Yong had practically forced his way into a spot at the meeting today specifically to get close to the young masters.
So during the meeting, under the guise of going to the restroom, he slipped out to find Gu Duo and Gu Ao.
This villa was too large; he only found out from asking a servant that the young masters were in their own playroom.
And upon entering the room, he was completely astounded by these two unbelievably quiet children.

He had assumed Shen Qing or another adult was present, which was why the young masters were so quiet.
However, no—there wasn’t a single adult in the room.
Now, Zhen Yong was squatting on the sidelines, watching the little master play with his magnetic puzzle toy while chatting with him.

“Cartoons are… Wait, does your Auntie never let you watch cartoons?” Zhen Yong suddenly asked back.
“Hm?” Aozai tilted his big head back and looked at the ceiling. He thought this uncle was quite silly. He didn’t even know what an ation car-toon was, so how would he know if Auntie let him watch it or not?

Outside the door, Shen Qing gently pushed the door open a crack, just in time to see Aozai’s little dumpling-like figure and Gu Duo studying nearby.
He had originally just wanted to secretly observe what the cubs were doing. He didn’t expect that right as he pushed the door open, he would hear Zhen Yong say again, “See that rectangular thing over there? Turn that on, and cartoons are inside.”

Aozai: “Awoooo! Then Aozai knows!”
Seems like he knows.
That long thingy was something Auntie specifically had people bring up from the living room yesterday. Auntie called it… called it something Aozai forgot.
However, before this, Aozai had never turned that thingy on once, because his brother wouldn’t turn it on, and Aozai didn’t think of turning it on either.

Shen Qing knew the long thing Zhen Yong was referring to was the TV.
Since it was a playroom, of course it needed to be equipped with any digital products suitable for children. However, because the original owner had disliked the cubs learning and contacting the outside world, there wasn’t even a children’s tablet in the house, nor any electronic devices suitable for kids to play with. In the end, Shen Qing had no choice but to order someone to move a TV from the small living room wall in first.

Moving it in was one thing. Although he really wanted the cubs to watch some TV, this thing was ultimately bad for the eyes, so screen time had to be regulated. Shen Qing had deliberately left it unplugged and hadn’t left the remote control.
He instructed the cubs that if they wanted to watch, they should come find him.
The cubs had nodded at the time, looking slightly confused, seemingly uninterested in the TV set.

Considering the cubs’ persona of being intensely self-driven “chicken babies” (鸡娃 – highly pushed children striving for academic excellence), Shen Qing thought this was quite understandable—top scholars simply had no time to watch TV, which was perfectly normal!

At this moment, Zhen Yong had already gone over and plugged in the TV in the room, but since there was no remote, it still wouldn’t turn on. So Zhen Yong asked, “Where’s the remote for this?”
Aozai continued to tilt his head. What was a ‘remote’? He didn’t know.

Instead, Gu Duo, who had remembered Shen Qing’s words from yesterday, succinctly said: “The remote is with Auntie.”

Zhen Yong: “So he really doesn’t let you watch TV!”

The two cubs turned their heads in unison to look at him.
Their faces wore expressions of utter bafflement.
Zhen Yong put on a look of heartbreak: “The young masters are so pitiful.”

Dodo and Aozai: “?”
How are we pitiful?
The two brothers exchanged a glance, neither understanding what was wrong with this weird uncle.

In fact, ever since Uncle Zhen had entered, they hadn’t known what he was trying to do.
Uncle Zhen had brought them gifts: Aozai’s was this magnetic tile set, and Dodo’s was a toy airplane model.
Historically, apart from Uncle and Auntie buying them toys, no one else gave them gifts.
Dodo and Aozai were both polite cubs, immediately expressing their thanks to Uncle Zhen.
However, they didn’t dare accept the gifts Uncle Zhen offered, merely stating they had to ask Auntie first.

Uncle Zhen had looked very unhappy about this, and having no other choice, the two brothers accepted the gifts for the time being.
After that, Uncle Zhen expressed that he wanted to watch them play, and also wanted to play toys with them.
The brothers exchanged another look, and eventually, Aozai asked Uncle Zhen to help him open the packaging of the magnetic tile toy.
Because Aozai had truly never played with this toy before, he had been quite engrossed in playing from then until now.

At this point, Zhen Yong said again, “You must really want to watch cartoons, right? Uncle will help you get the remote back in a bit.”
Then, he returned to Aozai’s side.
Watching Aozai fiddle with the toys, currently holding a small toy part in a daze, and seeing Master Duo leaning over there writing and drawing, he couldn’t help adding, “How can anyone be a parent like this, not letting kids play with toys, and forcing the older one to study… Does your Uncle know your Auntie acts like this?”

Gu Duo: “?”
Aozai: “Ya?”
They still didn’t understand what he was saying.

Zhen Yong continued, “Young masters, don’t be deceived! Your Auntie harbors ill intentions! He’s definitely relying on you to get good grades so President Gu will think it’s all his doing!”

The cubs in the room continued to tilt their heads. Gu Duo even stopped writing his homework, pushing his small body up from the sofa and staring strangely at Uncle Zhen.

Zhen Yong kept going: “In this situation, you should tell your Uncle. Don’t be afraid. As long as that Shen Qing is gone, you’ll be able to play however you want in the future!”

Outside the door, Shen Qing: “…”
Sorry, I heard everything.
I originally thought Mr. Zhen just had a slightly peculiar personality.
I didn’t expect him to actually be hostile towards me.

But why?
People who like to belittle parents in front of their kids aren’t non-existent, but the ones I’ve seen are usually elderly folks with no filter.
For someone to say things to this extent… I don’t think it’s just a matter of low emotional intelligence anymore.
It feels like there’s simply something wrong with his head.

But I haven’t offended him, right?
Or, he keeps egging the cubs on to go tattle to President Gu to drive me away…
Could he be coveting President Gu’s inheritance too??

Listening outside the door, Shen Qing didn’t understand, but was deeply amazed.
However, he wasn’t too nervous, because he already understood his own two cubs well enough.

If Zhen Yong’s tactic for sowing discord today was claiming that Shen Qing was trying every possible way to stop the two cubs from studying, aiming to raise them into useless slackers, then Gu Duo and his brother might have had some reaction, and perhaps he really could have sown discord.
But the problem was…
Vice President Zhen, you understand my cubs far too little.

Sure enough, before Zhen Yong had even finished speaking.
Master Dodo had completely stood up from the edge of the sofa. He had even crossed his arms, looking very cool as he stared at Uncle Zhen.

“Uncle Zhen, why are you speaking ill of my Auntie?”
Gu Duo’s voice was cold. Although it still carried the crispness of a child’s voice, it was clear he was deliberately lowering it.

Outside the door, Shen Qing: …As expected of Master Dodo!
Not only was he not bewildered by the bad guy, but he pinpointed the issue perfectly! He is exactly speaking ill of me!

Zhen Yong also hadn’t expected Gu Duo to be so sharp, instantly freezing: “I… I’m not.”
After freezing, he pretended to look innocent and walked over to Gu Duo’s side.
Looking at the various scratch papers spread across the sofa, some with foreign characters, others with algorithmic formulas, Zhen Yong once again revealed an expression of shock: “Oh my god, Master Dodo, did you write all of this? You study this every day?!”

Since entering, Gu Duo had been leaning over here writing things. Zhen Yong hadn’t dared to get too close to Master Dodo and didn’t know what he was doing; he only knew he was doing homework.
But the content on this scratch paper… Was this really a first-grader’s homework??
Even if it is, with this level of difficulty, how does Master Dodo keep up the persistent studying…

Even though Zhen Yong was a rich second-generation heir and knew children from elite families had to learn a lot from a young age, he had never imagined a child could be this disciplined—continuously studying hard even when no one was watching.

He immediately thought of Shen Qing again.
The children he knew who studied this hard were either frequently subjected to strict parenting, brainwashed about the importance of knowledge, and even beaten and scolded at the drop of a hat, or they needed someone constantly hovering over them.
Since no one was watching now, it was obvious Master Dodo was facing the first scenario—it must be that Shen Qing! Who knew what methods he used, constantly threatening the young masters into studying!

President Gu was an extremely serious, intensely hard-working person. He was fluent in eight languages and worked at least ten hours a day, even in his current poor health.
Everyone in the company knew this.
Everyone also knew President Gu favored serious, responsible people.

He figured that if the young masters got good grades, President Gu would be very happy too. If President Gu was happy, he would favor the person who helped the young masters get good grades even more, which would be…
Shen Qing!

The more he thought about it, the more convinced he became.
Zhen Yong’s eyes reflected the glint of finally discovering the root of the problem.
Of course, he couldn’t just go tattle to President Gu about this sort of thing, at least not personally.
But guiding the young masters to see Shen Qing’s true colors and having them stand up for their own rights themselves—that felt entirely doable.

This was the beauty of dealing with children.
They were easy to fool and easy to guide.
Moreover, he guessed the reason the young masters were listening to that Shen Qing so obediently right now was because they hadn’t tasted the wonders of playing with toys and watching cartoons—that Shen Qing was truly too cunning!
He didn’t give the young masters any entertainment options at all. Look how empty this playroom was… Can this even be called a playroom?!

Zhen Yong suddenly felt that buying off the young masters would be a piece of cake.
All children liked playing games. As long as he let them play and played with them, wouldn’t he have a reason to visit frequently? And wouldn’t the young masters’ liking for him surpass that of Shen Qing?

The more he thought about it, the more excited he got. Zhen Yong pointed at the scratch papers and said, “Shen Qing makes you do this every day?! Stop writing! Master Dodo, you are on vacation right now. During vacation, you should play properly! You absolutely must not listen to your Auntie! Come on, Uncle will take you to the amusement park for ice cream today…”

“Uncle Zhen, please leave.”
Before Zhen Yong could finish, Dodo cut him off directly.
The cub’s pitch was naturally high, but Gu Duo’s voice wasn’t loud.
Yet it easily interrupted Zhen Yong.

His expression was cold, his voice was cold. Pointing indifferently toward the door, he said, “Even though you brought gifts for my brother and me, I’m sorry, you are not welcome here.”
Saying this, he directly picked up the unopened airplane model from the floor, handed it to Zhen Yong, and said, “I will tell my little uncle about the toy set Aozai played with later, and have him reimburse you the money. Please take this with you as well, you are not welcome here.”

“I…”
Zhen Yong was utterly stunned. He had thought Master Dodo might be a bit aloof and hard to coax, but he hadn’t expected this kid to be so fierce!
I’m clearly doing this for his own good, trying to take him out to play, why is he angry?

“Don’t be like that,” Zhen Yong said. “Doesn’t Dodo want to go to the amusement park? Don’t you want to eat ice cream? No one will force you to study, we can play all day long!”
Zhen Yong believed no child could resist this temptation!

Outside the door, Shen Qing: …
Almost laughed out loud.
Sorry, other kids really can’t resist that temptation, but for Master Dodo, I literally have to set house rules to FORCE him to do those things!

Shen Qing clutched his stomach, struggling to hold back his laughter. Inside, Dodo indeed said: “Sorry, I don’t want to.”
Still the same cold voice, without any inflection.
Shen Qing: Hahaha!

However, while laughing, he froze again, because Dodo continued, “Even if I went, I wouldn’t go with Uncle Zhen. You spoke ill of my Auntie. You are not welcome here.”

Shen Qing: …Wuwuwu, my cub Dodo is too sensible!
…Master Dodo is defending me!

His hand resting on the doorknob froze completely. Shen Qing genuinely hadn’t expected this.
He had guessed Dodo would dislike Mr. Zhen and kick him out.
But he hadn’t expected that the reason Dodo was angry was because Zhen Yong had spoken ill of him…

“No, are you making a mistake?” Zhen Yong was, after all, a rich second-generation heir, and a vice president at that. Everyone was usually very polite to him.
Now, being rebuked by a child, he felt both angry and wronged: “You child, how can you not distinguish good from bad? Uncle is clearly trying to liberate you!”

Gu Duo directly rolled his eyes: “Sorry, I wanted to study these on my own initiative.”
Zhen Yong: “…?”
Gu Duo remembered that just to sign up for a French class, he had even accompanied Auntie to the amusement park to play… There was no need to tell this person about that.
Dodo’s sense of xenophobia was already very strong, and now having deemed Zhen Yong a bad guy causing trouble, he naturally wouldn’t speak another word to him.

Pressing the jade pendant hanging around his neck, Gu Duo’s attitude grew even more stern. With a taut little face, he simply stated, “Actually, Auntie always wants us to play with him. It’s just that I never have much time to accompany him.”

Zhen Yong: “???”
Wait, Master Dodo, how old are you…
Did you reverse the subject and object of ‘accompanying to play’??

Gu Duo: “So please do not speak ill of him…”
Although he already recognized many Chinese characters, his vocabulary was ultimately limited. Gu Duo thought for a long time but couldn’t articulate exactly what it was about this person that made him uncomfortable. He only knew that this Uncle Zhen had spoken untrue, negative remarks about Shen Qing, which made him feel very uncomfortable…
Being unable to describe it made Gu Duo feel somewhat frustrated.
He even blurted out a string of foreign words, then swore to study Chinese properly, and simply tightened his little face: “Please leave.”

“Don’t be like that.” Although this kid was terrifying when angry, making Zhen Yong slightly displeased, he had come to build a relationship with the young masters, and didn’t want to burn bridges just like that.
He couldn’t help but pick up the toy Gu Duo had just tossed back to him, saying, “Uncle just wanted you to have fun playing with toys…”
Saying this, he walked over to Master Ao, who hadn’t made a sound the entire time, and said, “See, look how happily Master Ao is playing…”

He didn’t get to finish the word “happily.” Zhen Yong’s voice abruptly cut off, his face full of shock.
On the rug, the magnetic model pieces that had been scattered all over the place just moments ago had now been assembled into a castle, a little robot, and a small car!
And Aozai, who had been bent over assembling the toy just a moment ago, had straightened his little body at some unknown point.

His long eyelashes fluttered, and he blinked his big eyes at Zhen Yong, stating: “Uncle Zhen, the toy you gave isn’t fun. Aozai doesn’t like it.”
Aozai said it directly.
Originally, as a polite cub, Aozai wouldn’t say such impolite words.
But hadn’t his brother started fighting with this uncle?
His brother’s enemy was Aozai’s enemy!

Furthermore, although Aozai wasn’t sure why they were arguing, listening to his brother, it seemed to be because this person was speaking ill of Auntie.
Aozai had also been listening to Uncle Zhen talk, but his words always felt like they were clouded in fog, and he didn’t understand what the man was rambling on about.
It wasn’t until he heard his brother say he was speaking ill of Auntie that Aozai had an epiphany.

Yes indeed, he also didn’t like the tone this person used when mentioning Auntie!
Moreover…
“Auntie doesn’t stop us from playing with toys, it’s just that yours is too low-level, sew dat’s why Auntie never bought it for us,” Aozai muttered to himself.

He was only now realizing why they didn’t have this kind of toy at home. Because all the toys were chosen by him and his brother themselves, and this one was too low-level. Aozai hadn’t even paid attention to it in the toy store. It was only because the uncle had suddenly given it to him, and he didn’t know what it was, that he found it novel.
But now that everything that could be built had been built, Aozai was truly uninterested.

He had been sitting there in a plump little pile for a while now, even letting out a bored little yawn while Uncle Zhen was talking to his brother.

Zhen Yong: “…”
Could it be that the toy I bought was actually wrong? I went out of my way to a toy store and specifically asked the clerk for a recommendation.
And the box clearly stated it was suitable for ages 3 to 6!

Beside him, Gu Duo continued to coldly clarify things for him: “The build-your-own car my brother plays with is already meant for eight-year-olds.”
Zhen Yong: “???”

Aozai chimed in, “And this airplane you gave my brother, Aozai doesn’t like it either. The last airplane Auntie bought for brother could be controlled with a remote, and it could even self, self…”
“Self-program,” Gu Duo filled in for him.
Aozai nodded agilely: “Yeah!”

Zhen Yong: “…”
If I had known, this toy airplane is indeed too embarrassing to present…
Zhen Yong immediately felt awkward and embarrassed—even more awkward than the last time when he gifted the young masters bags that they ended up disliking!
This time, the gifts he specially prepared were directly declared unlikable by the young masters…
If I had known, I should have asked around more before coming!

In the end, it was because he hadn’t put much effort into it, always thinking children were easy to fool…
I didn’t expect to kick a steel plate!

Aozai, who had changed to sitting cross-legged, looking like a little milk dumpling piled there, continued: “Uncle, you’re weally a bit annoying to this cub. Auntie also calls us to play games every day, but why doesn’t Auntie make this cub feel annoyed?”

Aozai tilted his big head, seriously pondering this question.
When he said “annoying,” he didn’t mean to be sarcastic. It was just that Aozai was naturally equipped with a passive taunt skill. Although he was genuinely just curious why he didn’t feel annoyed when Auntie asked him to play, the question still dealt massive critical damage to Zhen Yong.

Experiencing another momentary heart attack and feeling utterly humiliated, Zhen Yong said: “I’m annoying… Wait, so your Auntie actually forces you guys to play games every day?!”
No wonder his attempts to sow discord hadn’t worked!
After all this time, it wasn’t his method that was wrong, but the kids!

“Yeah.”
Aozai answered very honestly: “Auntie wants us to accompany him to play, accompany him to eat ice cream and cawwot-flavored cupcakes, um, and lately accompany him to drink milk…”

Zhen Yong: “???”
This Shen Qing… is he acting spoiled and acting like a baby to children???

Outside the door, Shen Qing: “…”
He couldn’t bear to listen anymore either.
He rushed in immediately and covered Aozai’s mouth!

Kneading the fleshy, chubby cheek beneath his palm, Shen Qing first glared at Zhen Yong, who had jumped in fright due to his sudden appearance, and then turned back, pinching Aozai’s tender, watery cheek again, grinding his teeth as he said: “Let’s ignore the rest, but didn’t you eat the ice cream and cupcakes very happily yourself?”

“Hm.” Aozai rolled his big, black-grape-like eyes, thought about it, and realized that seemed to be true.
He felt a bit guilty for a moment.
But Aozai was a cub who admitted his mistakes when he was wrong. He corrected himself: “Then it’s wanting brother to accompany you to eat ice cream, and wanting Uncle to accompany you to eat cawwot cupca… mmph!”

The cub, who had just regained his ability to speak, once again lost his right to speak.
And got his cheeks rubbed again!
Half of his face was covered by an adult’s palm, leaving only a pair of perfectly round, wide-open eyes. Aozai furrowed his little brows, but didn’t move.

Beside them, Zhen Yong’s expression was full of embarrassment the moment Shen Qing appeared.
He wondered: Did Shen Qing hear? How much did he hear?

Unexpectedly, after “dealing with” Aozai, Shen Qing turned directly to him and said: “Sorry, Mr. Zhen, the cubs in my family are all quite genius-level, and the things they play with are relatively high-end. They probably don’t like the gifts you gave them.”

He looked at the toys Aozai had assembled on the floor, and the airplane model for Dodo, and stated: “We appreciate your kind intentions. Leave the items here, and I’ll ask Assistant Li to transfer the money to you later. Our home does not welcome you.”

Zhen Yong: “???”
…It’s one thing for the kids to speak bluntly, but for Shen Qing to also be so…
But what did he mean? What does he mean he isn’t welcome??

“You heard everything just now? What did you hear, how much did you hear?” Zhen Yong asked.
Shen Qing tilted his head: “I heard… enough to never want you near my cubs ever again.”

After saying that, he reached out towards Gu Duo and said, “Dodo, come here.”
Gu Duo obediently walked over.

Holding one cub in each hand, Shen Qing said, “Sowing discord between a cub and their parent right in front of the child—to be capable of doing such a thing… Vice President Zhen, I’m sorry, but my home does not welcome people like you.”

Gu Duo: !
Right, I know the word I can use instead of describing Uncle Zhen speaking ill of Auntie now! It’s ‘sowing discord’.
The other party was sowing discord!

Having acquired a new vocabulary word, Gu Duo’s eyes shone brightly. Not only was he obediently letting Shen Qing hold his hand, but he also nodded in agreement.
Even his usually taut little face relaxed, finally showing some semblance of a child’s demeanor.

Seeing this, Zhen Yong felt jealous, but also very unresigned:
“What do you mean your home? Isn’t Mr. Shen taking himself a bit too seriously?”
He leaned closer to Shen Qing, his attitude somewhat condescending: “You are merely from a collateral branch of the Shen family…”

“This person is so noisy!” Before Zhen Yong could finish, Gu Duo had already interrupted him again: “Auntie, can we please ask him to leave our room?”

Shen Qing looked at Dodo, knowing this cub was defending him again.
It was probably because while at the Gu family, he and Aozai had heard remarks with the tone of ‘You’re nothing more than…’. This child didn’t even need the other party to finish to automatically guess what Zhen Yong was going to say.
Even though Shen Qing himself didn’t feel insulted.
But the cub, who had been hurt by this before, thought he would be hurt too, and so stepped forward to defend him…

This was too moving.
Because I’ve been drenched in the rain, I’m willing to hold an umbrella for someone else.
Even though Dodo’s stature was slightly thinner and smaller than kids his age.
But looking at this cub who hadn’t even reached his waist yet, Shen Qing still felt Dodo was incredibly tall and mighty.

The future ruthless villain from the original novel had once been this righteous and kind.

Shen Qing said, “Okay.”
Of course, he couldn’t let the cubs do all the standing up for him. Shen Qing walked straight over and pulled open the playroom’s main doors: “Mr. Zhen, please leave. Don’t make me call the bodyguards.”

“I…” Zhen Yong’s expression was ugly, but he wasn’t going to shamelessly linger around either.
He wanted to drop a “just you wait” to Shen Qing.
But Shen Qing said instead: “Our home will not welcome you in the future. I will mention this to President Gu. If you know what’s good for you, don’t ever come again.”

“You!” Zhen Yong’s eyes widened. He thought he was only being kicked out of the playroom, but he never expected Shen Qing to not even let him into the villa?!
“You…” Zhen Yong: “I came here to see President Gu!”

Shen Qing: “Oh, then we’ll see what President Gu decides. By the way, I forgot to mention, President Gu put my name on the property deed for this villa.”

Zhen Yong: …???
Shen Qing, who had been expressionless since earlier, had now restored his smile: “I think I have the right to decide who comes and goes.”

After Zhen Yong left, Shen Qing comforted the cubs and took the opportunity to ruffle them a bit more.
Children don’t hold grudges, especially Aozai, who quickly forgot about the Uncle Zhen incident. However, it was also true that the gifts Uncle Zhen brought were boring; Aozai probably wouldn’t touch them again, and Shen Qing was just worrying about what to do with them.

Shen Qing said, “It’s okay. Whenever Dodo and Aozai get tired of a toy, we’ll pack it up, save them, and then donate them. How about that?”
“Do-nate?” (卷 juǎn – to roll/curl, sounds similar to 捐 juān – to donate)
“It’s donate (juan).” Shen Qing wanted to say that there were many unfortunate children in this world living in orphanages without toys.
But thinking about how his own cubs hadn’t enjoyed the good life for very long either, he decided he didn’t need to educate them on this right now. He simply patted the cubs’ heads: “When there’s a chance later, Auntie will take you to an orphanage to see the other children.”

Unexpectedly, upon hearing this, Gu Ao shook his head vigorously: “Aozai doesn’t wanna go!”
“You don’t want to see the other children?”
Shen Qing was confused, then suddenly remembered: “It’s not the children at kindergarten, it’s an orphanage. Aozai hasn’t met the children there yet.”

Gu Ao: “Ya?”
Hearing Shen Qing’s words, Aozai cupped his chubby little cheeks again, striking a thinking pose.
Then he started babbling on his own: “Children I haven’t met before, then that’s okay.”

Shen Qing: I knew it.
So just how much did Aozai hate anything related to kindergarten? Sigh.

Just as he was about to sigh, Shen Qing heard Gu Duo say: “So what does Auntie plan to do? About the matter with Uncle Jia (贾 – fake/phony)?”

Shen Qing: “Um… I think it’s Uncle Zhen (甄 – true/real)?”
For a moment, even Shen Qing was a little unsure.

Gu Duo, who had already climbed back onto the small sofa to study: “…”
Blinking in disbelief, Gu Duo couldn’t believe he had actually remembered it wrong.
