RBNR Ch79: Daffodils bloom

They finally couldn’t hold back any longer and had a quick encounter in the office. But if they didn’t head home now, who knew what might continue happening.

When they stepped out, the employees had indeed left, even the front desk was dark. The sun hadn’t set yet, and the sunset streamed through the building’s windows, casting shadows of the city’s structures.

Feng Chengyu held Qin Bao’s hand and walked quickly. On the way home, the vehicle was ordered to reach its top speed.

The kissing continued in the back seat of the car, with Qin Bao sitting on Feng Chengyu’s lap, because only in this way could they be as close as possible.

Qin Bao had never known that kissing could be so endless, as if they were trying to make up for the past years. He sucked on Feng Chengyu’s lips, licked his teeth and tongue, watching Feng Chengyu’s dark lashes flutter and his veins bulge on his hands.

Then, Qin Bao’s hand slid down unceremoniously, touching the solid chest muscles through the shirt.

The vehicle finally entered the garage. The door closed tightly, creating a safe and private space. As Qin Bao reached for the car door handle, a large hand covered it.

With a thud, the car door closed, muffling the fragmented sounds inside and the heavy breathing. The car rocked.

It was really absurd.

Qin Bao only had vague impressions of how they ended up in the bedroom, but the urgency was unprecedented and somehow felt quite fitting.

Qin Bao was naturally passionate, but Feng Chengyu… it seemed like there was no limit to his tolerance. He seemed to accept anything.

Every time, he was in full control. Using all means, he controlled the situation with ease. Making Qin Bao cry, then pressing close, treating him like the only lifeline in a vast ocean, letting him drift.

This time, Qin Bao didn’t curse; he just clung to Alpha’s back, trembling and kissing him intermittently. When flipped over and pinned down, he let out a small, animal-like cry of pain.

The scent of daffodils mingled with sweet milk.

Candles were lit on the bedroom windowsill, casting their shadows and revealing the silhouettes of the trees outside.

Qin Bao lay on the edge of the bed, his fingertips still numb, half his body nearly falling off. Feng Chengyu pulled him back and offered him a puff of smoke.

Feng Chengyu’s cigarette had that bitter taste, but Qin Bao had become accustomed to it. After a couple of coughs, he pressed his face against Alpha’s neck and whispered, “Feng Chengyu.”

Feng Chengyu pressed him down, “Hmm?” Their legs were entwined, Feng Chengyu’s strong arm stretched out of the bed, his elegant fingers holding the cigarette.

“What’s wrong, baobao?” Feng Chengyu’s voice was extremely alluring.

Qin Bao’s nose touched Alpha’s gland as he hugged his neck. “Was it very dangerous back then? Were you close to losing your gland?”

Feng Chengyu knew what he was referring to and asked, “You know about that?”

“Can’t I know?” Qin Bao said, “With a 90% compatibility Omega… how did you manage it?”

Such a high compatibility rate was terrifying.

Who found such a match?

Feng Chengyu: “…..

Qin Bao said, “You don’t want to talk about it.”

“If such things happen, shouldn’t I care about my face?” Feng Chengyu finally spoke softly, “Especially in front of you.”

To endure suppression of heat in a 90% compatibility situation, it would undoubtedly be an embarrassing sight.

Even if it was due to physiological instincts, maintaining self-control under such high compatibility was an extraordinary feat. But with Feng Chengyu’s pride, discussing such matters was extremely difficult.

Feng Chengyu continued, “Besides, at that time, I didn’t know if I could keep the gland. If I couldn’t, I wouldn’t have any advantages with you.”

Qin Bao looked up, annoyed. “Who said that? Am I that superficial?”

“You’re not superficial,” Feng Chengyu comforted him, “But I’m afraid.”

Since the matter had passed, Qin Bao naturally wouldn’t pursue it further. Asking now was due to lingering fear.

Now that they understood each other’s feelings and everything was clear, he felt grateful that they didn’t divorce. Although there were still many imperfections and regrets, he was extremely thankful.

How could Feng Chengyu be so good?

He had thought more than once.

Qin Bao buried his head again, hiding his face from Feng Chengyu, feeling embarrassed about what he was going to say next. He asked casually, “Do you really like me that much?”

Otherwise, how could he have done all this? When they signed the marriage contract, saying “neither side would suffer,” Feng Chengyu seemed to be on the verge of bankruptcy, having even sacrificed himself.

“Yeah,” Feng Chengyu said, “You just found out.”

Qin Bao had known for a long time.

That message asking “Do you like me?” intended to break through a layer of hesitation, was accidentally left unreplied. Due to various reasons, he lost the courage to ask again.

However, Feng Chengyu was indeed responsible.

Qin Bao said angrily, “You’re not saying anything. You didn’t say anything when we got married, and even now, after so long, you still don’t say anything.”

Feng Chengyu found this hard to handle, taking a deep drag of smoke before retorting, “Why don’t you think about everything you’ve done from the beginning until now?”

He had treated their relationship like a one-night stand, enjoyed it, and said he’d find someone else if not for him. He was just someone who looked alright.

Qin Bao had forbidden him from talking to him outside, kept several meters away when appearing together, started counting down to divorce on the day of their marriage registration, and called him a marked and forcefully inserted object.

After getting married, he hadn’t intended to give him a chance to develop feelings. Every meeting was just about se-x, with the excuse of high compatibility making conversation unnecessary; after se-x, it was just put on pants and leave.

He never took the initiative to text him, often read messages but didn’t reply, and reminded him from time to time, “Don’t think I like you.” He marked him permanently, saying, “Since we’ve already done it, the permanent mark doesn’t matter,” and promised, “I’ll go get it cleaned after five years.” When problems arose, he directly suggested divorce, saying he (FCY) was delaying his (QB) from dating someone he liked.

Qin Bao reflected on this and found his own actions were indeed reprehensible. Forget about someone as proud as Feng Chengyu, anyone else would probably have left him just after he said, “It’s just a quick fling.”

It was a miracle Feng Chengyu hadn’t been driven mad.

Seeing Qin Bao silent, Feng Chengyu put out the cigarette and ruffled his hair. “So, are you reflecting now?”

“Hmm.” Qin Bao hugged him and after a while said, “Well, now that you know I like you, you must be pretty happy, right?”

Taking the chance to confess again.

Feng Chengyu said, “Not really.”

Qin Bao was so surprised that he forgot to hide his expression. “Huh?”

Feng Chengyu smiled slightly and said, “Haven’t I been happy for a long time?” He then lifted Qin Bao’s long legs.

Damn it.

Qin Bao immediately reacted, “Pervert!”

The perversion began slowly.

Qin Bao tilted his head back, pushing against Alpha’s chest with his hand, shivering as he resisted and said, “No more… I’m so hungry. I haven’t eaten, I don’t have the strength anymore… Ah, Feng Chengyu!”

The pillow fell to the floor, and the candles flickered. Feng Chengyu whispered, “It’s okay, what strength do you need? You’ve already got me wrapped around you.”

The next day was Saturday. They both slept in until late. Feng Chengyu had the day off, and Qin Bao was still on his rest period, so they were undisturbed.

Like many married couples, they stood together at the bathroom sink to wash up, exchanged good morning kisses, and then went to change clothes to prepare breakfast. Perhaps because the other’s appearance while changing clothes was too seductive, they nearly had another incident in the dressing room.

Especially Feng Chengyu. Qin Bao thought that every time he put on a shirt and buttoned it, he looked so alluring.

If this continued, something big might happen.

After the permanent mark, the intimacy between AOs had qualitatively improved, making pregnancy very easy. Although Feng Chengyu always took precautions or helped with cleaning, Qin Bao was still particularly worried since they had no plans for children at the moment.

The master bedroom suite was not suitable for lingering, so Qin Bao chose a black shirt for Feng Chengyu. They both wisely went downstairs one after the other, trying to stay as far from the bed as possible.

When Qin Bao arrived in the living room, Feng Chengyu was already making breakfast and told him to just wait.

After a night of activity, Qin Bao was sore all over and simply sat down at the dining table.

He had a “Yufeng” game offline event to attend, where the developers had created exclusive game character skins for the main actors, and there would be live interactions with fans.

Qin Bao had played a few times with Xu Tangzhou in the game and was familiar with the controls.

Xu Tangzhou played better and even created a character named Ling Che for him, making Qin Bao play this account for romantic interactions, which nearly made him lose his temper and almost end their friendship.

He sent a message to Xu Tangzhou asking for the address, intending to send the game helmet locally so Ling Che could play with Xu Tangzhou. After sending it, he casually noticed outside the window that the daffodils planted by the gardener seemed to have grown even taller since yesterday.

A refreshing morning, the aroma of fried eggs, budding vegetation, and the person he loved in this house.

Though he had never longed for marriage, at this moment, he had glimpsed the future. He wanted to watch the daffodils bloom with Feng Chengyu.

The phone on the table vibrated. Qin Bao thought it was Xu Tangzhou replying.

When he turned around, it was Feng Chengyu’s phone ringing continuously. Every few seconds, the screen displayed:

You have received a message,” and “Happy Family” Someone has @you.

Happy Family?

Qin Bao was puzzled. Wasn’t that the family group they had previously?

When the photos of him and Feng Chengyu were exposed online, the parents in the group made him upset, and he left the group in frustration, never joining again. Feng Chengyu still kept it?

“What’s the family group saying?” Qin Bao asked. “Are they looking for you?”

Feng Chengyu brought breakfast over and sat down, pouring juice for both of them. “Hmm, they’re concerned about us. I just sent a message.”

Recalling Mr. Qin’s sudden visit, the families must have known about their marital troubles.

It was somewhat embarrassing. Qin Bao tried to grab the phone but didn’t manage to, so he asked cautiously, “What did you say?”

Feng Chengyu unlocked the phone and said, “I sent a photo of you holding the bouquet of roses yesterday, saying you came to me to reconcile.”

Qin Bao was incredulous. “What?! I said the flowers were given by someone else. You—”

“Just kidding.”

Feng Chengyu smiled and handed him the phone.

Qin Bao, almost about to blow his top, turned red-faced and calmed down a bit after seeing it. “….

The photo was sent, but only the bouquet of roses was shown, not who sent it to whom, and the message was very concise.

F: [Picture/]

F: [Please rest assured, elders. Xiao Bao and I are fine now. Everything is resolved.]

Mr. Qin: [Alright, understood.]

Professor Feng: [Got it. Chengyu, your mother and I are relieved.]

Grandpa: [A harmonious family leads to prosperity. Whether between grandfather and grandson or between husband and husband, everyone should take a step back. There is no obstacle that can’t be overcome. I’m very pleased that you’ve made this step and prioritized family harmony. @F]

The messages were just sent, and some people hadn’t seen them yet.

The last two were from Grandpa Qin.

Grandpa: [Good, good, good, both of you are good kids. You’ve both worked hard.]

Grandpa: [Xiao Bao, Mama Tao made some dried meat snacks. He loved them in high school. When you have time, bring him back to visit.]

Qin Bao felt a mix of emotions. “Do you usually chat with them in the group?”

“Occasionally,” Feng Chengyu replied. “If you want to see, you can check the records.”

Knowing he wanted to see, Feng Chengyu took the initiative to suggest it.

Qin Bao, who rarely returned home or participated in the family group over the years, had actually wanted to keep up with everyone’s updates, but he was too proud to admit it. Since Brother Lu had mentioned Grandpa Qin, Qin Bao’s heart had softened a bit. So, he eagerly began to scroll through the history.

The family group named “Happy Family” was indeed quite quiet, just as Feng Chengyu had said. Conversations only occasionally took place, with the group becoming lively during holidays but otherwise posting rarely, from weekly to monthly intervals. His name appeared many times.

The most recent message from Mr. Qin was: [Regarding the children, I believe they each have their own considerations. I will talk to Bao’er first. Please remain calm and do not interfere.]

Earlier was a message from Ms. Rong: [Has the person who exposed the pheromones online been caught? Besides Bao’er and Chengyu, there are so many victims. It’s truly appalling!]

Before that, Professor Lin had said: [Chengyu, we need to pick up Bao’er first and report it to the police.] Then messages from last year and the year before….

[Xiao Bao’s new drama has wrapped. Did everyone see the behind-the-scenes photos?]

[A few days ago, I saw Bao’er’s ad on Dingxun. (Roses)]

[Is Chengyu doing well? How is Xiao Bao?]

[Bao’er has already gone to Yatan with Professor Lin. Everyone, please be assured.]

[Why isn’t Xiao Bao the spokesperson for Marcos Malory this year? I’m not buying it.]

[Xiao Bao’s malicious editing incident, I need a reliable lawyer. Grandpa, do you have any connections with your legal advisor?]

[The editing of “Echoes” is nauseating! Xiao Bao’s scenes were cut! (Anger)(Anger)]

[Xiao Bao and Chengyu are traveling in space. Can we see them on Ella Star tonight? (Longing)]

[(Cheers) Bao’er’s studio was established today. (Cheers)]

Qin Bao read through the messages, most of which were about him. After finishing, he had no particular expression and handed the phone back to Feng Chengyu, returning to his meal.

Feng Chengyu did not comment. “Do you have any plans for today?”

Qin Bao: “No plans.”

Feng Chengyu said, “Well, since we have time and it’s still early, should we go home to get the dried meat from Taoma?”

Qin Bao poked at his fried egg. “I don’t mind. If you don’t mind the trouble, it’s fine with me.”

“It’s not trouble,” Feng Chengyu said. “Mama Tao worked hard to make it for us. We just need to go pick it up. What’s the trouble?”

So, it was decided. After finishing breakfast, they went out.

Qin Bao applied a gland patch and, once in the car, looked down at his phone. Then he idly looked out the window. “Feng Chengyu, add me to that group.”

When he looked back, Feng Chengyu was already looking at him.

Alpha smiled slightly. “Sure.”
