RBNR Ch67: Out there making money for me
Abstinence might not be a good thing for an Alpha, especially an S-class Alpha. The more obedient the Omega, the less satisfied he was, turning into an insatiable beast, leaving Qin Bao struggling to open his eyes in the morning.
The alarm rang at 5:30 AM, luckily set the night before, or they would’ve easily missed the flight.
Qin Bao felt his eyelids heavy, reaching out for his phone, but someone beat him to it and turned off the alarm.
In the light from the bedside lamp, he saw Feng Chengyu half-reclining on the pillow, propping his head up, watching him, already awake before him.
Seeing him wake, the Alpha leaned in to kiss his forehead, not forgetting to tease about last night’s events, “Understood now?”
“Lunatic.”
Qin Bao immediately pulled the quilt over his head, the heat on his face rising with the memories of waking up.
Damn perpetual motion machine…
Inhuman…
Qin Bao silently repeated the curses he’d thrown out last night.
His phone vibrated, a message from Xiao Xu appeared on the screen: [Brother Bao, are you awake? We’re almost there.]
Feng Chengyu glanced at it, then pulled Qin Bao out from under the quilt, promising not to mess around so much next time, soothing him for a bit, helping him brush his teeth, change clothes, and then took him downstairs.
The sky was barely light, and Brother Lu’s car was already there.
The door on the steps opened, and two figures came out.
First was Qin Bao, looking sleepy, disheveled, and groggy. The person behind him, dressed in black loungewear, was much taller, face hidden in shadow, carrying Qin Bao’s luggage.
Qin Bao said something, hit the person, and was then kissed on the back of the head, his aggressive demeanor softening.
The person held Qin Bao’s hand and walked down the steps.
The streetlight gradually revealed his face.
A handsome, mature, usually cold face, revered by the citizens of the empire.
It was Feng Chengyu.
Xiao Xu’s eyes widened instantly, her body petrifying.
“Mr. Feng.” Brother Lu, clearly aware of their relationship, greeted first, “Good morning.”
“Morning, Brother Lu.” Feng Chengyu replied, “Sorry for the wait.”
He helped Qin Bao into the car, who got in with a bit of a grumpy attitude and didn’t say a word.
Xiao Xu immediately jumped up, got out from the other side to take the luggage from Feng Chengyu: “G-good morning, Mr. Feng…”
She had heard that Mr. Feng had retired due to a severe injury; she couldn’t let him carry the luggage!
Feng Chengyu glanced at her, still amicable: “Morning.”
Xiao Xu felt a chill down her neck, her legs almost giving out, and like a quail, she put the luggage into the trunk and got back in the car.
Help, why hadn’t Brother Bao ever mentioned this?
She really wanted to travel back in time and strangle herself for saying Qin Bao’s boyfriend was Shan Yiming in front of Feng Chengyu yesterday.
As the car drove out of the compound, Qin Bao’s home and the tall figure standing by the roadside became increasingly distant.
Xiao Xu, still processing this explosive information, nervously took out breakfast and coffee for Qin Bao, only to find him glaring at her.
“Xu Chenchen, you’re so good at making up stories, it’s a pity you don’t write scripts.”
Qin Bao was furious.
“How did Shan Yiming become my boyfriend?!”
Xiao Xu wished she could write scripts, but she had dropped out of school at sixteen to work and had limited education.
But her logic was solid: “I’m sorry, how was I supposed to know I was wrong… You told me you knew him since birth, so he must be a very close friend. I saw a lot of old photos of you two in your Dingxun, and he even came to pick you up during your college entrance exam. You both like riding motorcycles, and many people ship you two.”
Qin Bao: “…”
What the hell!
“How was I supposed to know your boyfriend was Mr. Feng?” Xiao Xu felt wronged, “I never imagined it, and Brother Lu didn’t tell me!”
Qin Bao and Mr. Feng seemed completely different, and he seemed much older.
Brother Lu laughed: “How would I know your mind is full of this nonsense!”
Xiao Xu was about to cry, “What do I do? I’ve offended Mr. Feng…”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Feng won’t bother with small fry like you.” Brother Lu said, “As long as you do your job well and keep it confidential, Mr. Feng will treat you well.”
Xiao Xu nodded vigorously: “I’m loyal, I’m definitely not like Jin Si who betrayed Brother Bao and caused trouble behind his back.”
She was attentive, discreet, but unfortunately, a bit slow.
Qin Bao sternly said, “Enough. When you have time, go organize your documents.”
Xiao Xu was confused: “Huh?”
She wouldn’t be fired, right?
About to graduate, Qin Bao said irritably, “I’ll find a school to send you to study.”
Xiao Xu: “Wah.”
She hated school.
While waiting for the flight, Qin Bao checked his super talk, curious to see what other misunderstandings like Xiao Xu’s were out there.
With such a big upheaval at home, Qin Bao hadn’t logged into his Flow account in a while. When he did, the flood of comments and private messages startled him. Aside from many trolls, there were lots of encouraging and comforting messages.
After “Echoes” aired, Qin Bao vanished from the internet. Marketing accounts and haters called him thin-skinned. Rumors, possibly stirred by Zou Jiudong, claimed that Qin Bao frequently ditched work and acted like a diva during his SISI days. Various brand representatives from that time also fanned the flames.
Clicking on any discussion thread revealed fan wars.
[He flaked out the day before the event, leaving a crowd waiting in vain. I’m not saying which two-letter supermodel it was. (covering mouth)]
[No wonder he was shelved for half a year, hilarious. He really thinks he’s irreplaceable just because he topped some chart.]
[Qin Bao is irreplaceable! He’s still the luxury brand ambassador for Marcos Malory. Can’t see? Use your hands to search!]
[His acting is terrible. Just watch, Marcos Malory won’t last this year.]
[I heard he often scowled at people on set… and he flaunted himself at school, with people driving sports cars to win his heart.]
[Not surprising, always marketing that “pure and seductive” persona, having flings everywhere.]
[Fun fact, single Omegas have the right to live their lives. He’s not married.]
…
Qin Bao admitted to frequently ditching work. Apart from recent upheavals, he missed many jobs during his forced marriage period, but being a diva was impossible.
He didn’t have the energy to address those rumors and could wait patiently for the lawsuit to restart and for the day he wins.
However, not wanting to worry those who loved him, he posted a selfie from the airport.

From now on, he would work harder than before.
Not just at work, but also for his family and love.
In the second trial, the clouds parted, and Mr. Qin’s charges of “treason” were found unsubstantiated. However, due to personal decision-making negligence leading to significant losses, he was dismissed from his position as Minister of Commerce and banned from politics for life.
The Qin family mansion and assets were unfrozen. The day Mr. Qin was released was also the day Grandpa Qin was discharged from the hospital, and everyone returned to the mansion.
The Feng family didn’t shy away. Even Director Feng attended in person, and the two families welcomed Mr. Qin back together.
Mr. Qin had become much leaner, his former moderate aura almost gone, replaced with a sharper edge, although still elegant.
The other main character of the day, besides Mr. Qin, was Feng Chengyu.
In front of everyone, Mr. Qin first toasted the Feng family, then Feng Chengyu.
Feng Chengyu pressed down his wine glass: “Dad, you’re too kind. A blessing in disguise, it’s already a great fortune that we can all be together safely.”
Mr. Qin, aware of his attack, teared up despite being in his fifties: “Yes, safety is a blessing.”
They drank their glasses of wine.
“Xiao Bao and Chengyu are married; the Feng and Qin families are one.” Director Feng said, “This disaster you faced actually ties back to Chengyu. If not for the Ministry of Commerce’s strong control over resource transportation, the target wouldn’t have been on you.”
Mr. Qin waved his hand: “No need to be so polite with me. This has nothing to do with Chengyu; ultimately, it’s my own failure.”
Qin Bao couldn’t sit still, got up, and left the dining room to smoke on the terrace.
Feng Chengyu joined him later, without a cigarette. Qin Bao lit one for him, and after a few seconds of eye contact, they shared a brief kiss.
“Grandpa asked where you went.” Feng Chengyu said, “He cares about you.”
The relationship between grandfather and grandson had improved. Grandpa’s eyes always followed his grandson, but Qin Bao couldn’t get past his own hurdle. Not wanting to discuss it, he hummed in response and asked Feng Chengyu, “What are your plans?”
“Feng Chu approached me several times, hoping I’d take over the company. His ambition isn’t in management, and uncle’s family feels the same.” Feng Chengyu said, “Jacob wants me to start a business with him. He’s engaged with a renewable energy company on Pegasus. They also handle interstellar energy waste recycling. If I go, I might bring some alumni along. It could be interesting.”
The Feng family’s tech group was well-renowned, and it was widely expected for Feng Chengyu to manage it. Even his uncles, usually at odds, had no objections.
What Jacob wanted to do seemed aligned with Feng Chengyu’s interests.
Both options were great.
But Qin Bao knew neither was the best for Feng Chengyu.
Qin Bao: “Which one do you want?”
Feng Chengyu chose the latter, smiling: “I’m more interested in renewable energy and want to see what waste is floating in outer space. What do you think?”
Qin Bao didn’t understand any of it.
He wanted to help but realized Feng Chengyu seemed not to need his help in any situation. A talented person always had countless fallback options, never needing saving from others.
“I think it’s great.”
Qin Bao answered, genuinely thinking Feng Chengyu’s choice was good.
He took a deep drag of his cigarette, slowly exhaling the smoke, looking at the garden below that had become somewhat untidy from neglect.
Feng Chengyu pulled him close, asking, “Want to help me?”
“You don’t need my help.” Qin Bao’s clear eyes were slightly moist, expressing his frustration directly and openly, “I feel like I can’t help you in any way.”
The thought made him feel extremely defeated.
Except he still had some money in his account, which he had planned to give to Madam Rong, but since she refused, the money was still there.
No, Qin Bao quickly corrected himself: “Wait, I still have money. Do you need money for your startup? If you’re short, I can help!”
His eyes were full of hope.
Feng Chengyu looked at him for a few seconds, then said, “Yes, I need it. I’m extremely short on money.”
Qin Bao was skeptical: “Really?”
“Really.” Feng Chengyu hugged his waist, saying very seriously, “Baobao, I’m currently unemployed.”
Qin Bao’s heart melted into a puddle. “It’s okay, I’ll give you all my money, and you’ll be able to start soon!”
Feng Chengyu’s cigarette burned to the end, and his eyes smiled. “Alright, I’ll count on you then.”
*
Feng Chengyu was a man of action. Once he made a decision, he put it on the agenda.
A month later, Jacob flew to the Empire’s capital. That night, Feng Chengyu called Shu Helan, and the three went to a club to drink and catch up.
Jacob brought a beautiful male companion, a young actor named Lu Jia, whom Jacob liked very much.
Seeing the two Alphas appearing alone, Jacob teased, “I say, are you two sneaking out behind your Omegas’ backs?”
Shu Helan, legs crossed on another chair, said, “No, he said he wanted to break up. This has happened so many times that I don’t care anymore.”
This argument was because Shu Helan’s ex sent flirtatious messages in the middle of the night.
Jacob gave a thumbs up and looked at Feng Chengyu. “Where’s your little Omega?”
Feng Chengyu swirled his drink slowly. “Out there making money for me.”
Jacob: “? Even you, Feng Da, are short on money?”
“He’s not,” Shu Helan said enviously. “But his wife thinks he is.”
Feng Chengyu said, “Yes, Shu Da, so tonight you’re picking up the tab.”
Qin Bao transferred more than half of his savings to Feng Chengyu, leaving only a portion for his studio’s operations, then frantically took on work. When Brother Lu reported the dense schedule, Feng Chengyu was overwhelmed.
The busier Qin Bao got, the more fulfilled he felt.
After recording the variety show, he took on an endorsement, attended three shows, and then joined a film crew. Whenever he had free time, there were events to attend and materials to shoot. He hadn’t seen Feng Chengyu for almost half a month.
One day, while waiting at a traffic light, Qin Bao saw a new large advertisement by the roadside.
It was for Mist, a well-known AO sexual health brand. Their third-generation inhalation blockers were very effective; Qin Bao had bought them a few times. Now, they had a new ice cream flavor and a new model for their ads.
In late autumn, yellowing leaves spiraled down.
The sunlight shone brightly on the Omega model’s face, making it clear—it was Xu Tangzhou.
After nearly four years, Xu Tangzhou’s face had lost its youthful innocence, but Qin Bao recognized him immediately, his heart filling up, feeling both full and sore.
How wonderful.
Qin Bao couldn’t help but tear up.
His life was back on track, and his best friend had also survived the hardships and returned!
