Lin Xiangqi originally thought the hardest part of asking for pheromones was just to speak up.
Because he and Lu Cong had gone through multiple marking experiences, and Lu Cong always pursued efficiency.
The process was usually a kiss infused with pheromones, gently leading into the main act. When Lin Xiangqi’s glands began to heat up, Lu Cong would cleanly and swiftly bite onto his gland, injecting the pheromones painlessly and quickly.
The entire marking from start to finish usually didn’t take more than half an hour.
Recently, Lin Xiangqi’s glands became increasingly active and his demand for pheromones grew stronger. Fortunately, until today, he wasn’t so easily shy and often lingered with Lu Cong, even several times proactively nudging Lu Cong’s gland lightly to signal he wanted pheromones. No matter the time, Lu Cong never refused.
Today, speaking up was harder, but at least he managed to say it.
Lin Xiangqi thought that next, it would be like every previous marking: a kiss, then Lu Cong biting him, and that would be it.
However, the marking came before the kiss.
Right after Lin Xiangqi said those words, Lu Cong almost instantly pierced his neck with his canine, embedding into his gland, continuously pumping Alpha pheromones full of control and possessiveness into his body.
“Ah…!” He cried out in surprise with no warning.
It felt somewhat different from usual—not exactly unpleasant, but Lin Xiangqi felt that today Lu Cong seemed fiercer, more urgent, and more… overwhelming.
At the moment of marking, Lin Xiangqi couldn’t even stand firmly, his legs went weak, luckily Lu Cong held him tightly so he didn’t fall.
But Lu Cong seemed to use too much strength, holding him up too high—the height difference became obvious—Lin Xiangqi couldn’t even touch the ground with his toes, fully supported by Lu Cong’s arms.
He no longer had the energy to think about “who should kiss first, who should mark first.”
After receiving the pheromones, Lin Xiangqi felt so comfortable that he made some unseemly sounds, hummed a little, then got embarrassed and bit his lips, not wanting to speak.
Just then, Lu Cong forcibly grabbed his chin and gave him a kiss that had been long overdue—very forceful, almost sucking Lin Xiangqi’s tongue numb.
He felt a bit overwhelmed and wanted to stop, but Lu Cong didn’t relent at first. After a moment, he finally relented, changing to gentle pecks on Lin Xiangqi’s lips.
Lin Xiangqi thought that was the end.
But the next second, Lu Cong asked in a low, hoarse, and unreasonable voice, “Has anyone else kissed you like this?”
Lin Xiangqi: “?”
No way, dude. We grew up together! Don’t you know if I ever dated anyone?!
Before Lin Xiangqi could even retort, Lu Cong asked again, “Besides me, have you been marked by anyone else? Whose pheromones are better—mine or theirs?”
At first, Lin Xiangqi thought it was ridiculous.
But gradually, he began to understand Lu Cong wasn’t teasing him—it was a genuine question.
Because they hadn’t always been together.
During the time Lu Cong was quarantined ten years ago and couldn’t get replies, he must have imagined countless times whether Lin Xiangqi had been with Shen Qiaolan.
Although for Lin Xiangqi, the fact that Lu Cong fell in love at first sight with Shen Qiaolan was a major shame in his life—an unconscious desire for pheromones, not true affection—
For Lu Cong, his pursuit of Shen Qiaolan was definitely real. There was some time gap between them; it wasn’t impossible for things to happen that he didn’t know about.
Once Lin Xiangqi understood, he knew what Lu Cong was asking.
Just as he was about to answer, Lu Cong suddenly said, “It’s okay.”
Lin Xiangqi was stunned: What’s okay? Did you just suddenly forgive me for something I did?
“That was when I wasn’t around; you can’t be blamed.” Lu Cong pinched his chin, lightly bit his lip, suppressing irritation but pretending generosity, saying, “What happened before is past, but from now on, those things can only happen with me, got it?”
Lin Xiangqi thought this sounded a bit odd but still explained, “But I didn’t, I never did those things with anyone else before.”
Lu Cong slowly lifted his eyelids, staring at him: “You didn’t?”
Lin Xiangqi thought he was doubting him and pushed him away unhappily: “What do you take me for? A scoundrel who pesters others for pheromones every day? Even if it was for treatment, if it wasn’t you, I’d have to think about whether to accept that treatment. Besides, I didn’t even know I was sick back then! How could I… kiss or be marked by Shen… or anyone else? Whether it’s kissing, marking, or all those messy things—no! Absolutely not!”
“No…” Lu Cong repeated, then pressed his grasped hand on Lin Xiangqi’s lips and kissed him hard, “Good that you didn’t.”
Lu Cong’s tone held a suppressed excitement, kissing Lin Xiangqi for a long time, blocking any sounds Lin Xiangqi wanted to make.
Lin Xiangqi felt the pheromones Lu Cong released seemed even stronger than during the marking just now.
He didn’t even remember when he lost consciousness—only knowing later Lu Cong bit his gland again, pouring even more pheromones in despite the mark already being there.
He was dizzy and overwhelmed by the pheromones, senses nearly failing, unable to tell how many times he had been marked or how long Lu Cong had kissed him.
Lu Cong seemed to be in a very good mood, constantly murmuring, “My Yanyan, so good…”
Until Lin Xiangqi couldn’t take it anymore and fainted.
When he opened his eyes again, Lin Xiangqi found he was not lying on the bed but soaking in a pool of hot water.
He leaned against Lu Cong’s chest, so he didn’t lose balance. Lu Cong was carefully and gently washing his body.
The whole room was steaming, making the head dizzy, water mist everywhere, softening hands and feet. This environment made it easy to let down one’s guard.
Lin Xiangqi nestled in Lu Cong’s embrace, tilting his neck back to look over, thinking how troublesome bathing was.
Lu Cong said nothing, his hand slowly moving up from Lin Xiangqi’s waist to his collarbone.
Lin Xiangqi felt ticklish and shrank his neck: “What are you doing?”
“How was your day today?” Lu Cong asked. “Was it boring when I wasn’t around?”
Lin Xiangqi nodded vigorously: “So boring! I didn’t know what to do by myself. Although there are many new things now that weren’t before, I don’t seem very interested. At first, I could read some books, review exam materials, but your place is so big, full of machines and intelligence, very few living people—those who are here don’t seem able to come to this floor. Overall, it feels like I’m the only one left in the whole world, empty and lonely, very uncomfortable.”
Lu Cong said, “Then why didn’t you call me?”
After a pause, Lu Cong added, “You can also video call.”
“You must be busy with important things,” Lin Xiangqi disagreed, “I can’t keep bothering you. And since I came, it feels like you’ve been resting more and more. Are you willing to take time out to be with me? What about your work? Won’t people complain you’re slacking off?”
Lu Cong tucked a wet strand of Lin Xiangqi’s hair behind his ear with his knuckles, then said, “Don’t worry about it. If you want to call, just call. It’s not like the world will end if you answer.”
Lin Xiangqi: “But…”
“What did you do when you were alone?” Lu Cong suddenly asked. “Have you learned to use the terminal to go online?”
Lin Xiangqi nervously shivered while answering.
Although he knew his browsing history had been deleted and Lu Cong definitely couldn’t find out what he had looked up, his ears still flushed red as he tried to act calm and said, “I don’t like the internet, there’s nothing interesting anyway.”
He couldn’t see Lu Cong’s expression, so he didn’t know if Lu Cong believed him. After a while of silence, Lin Xiangqi felt uneasy, wondering if those inappropriate websites he had looked at had been discovered.
Fortunately, Lu Cong finally said, “Okay, then don’t go online.”
“Alright, no internet, I’ll play something else.” Lin Xiangqi tried to change the topic and asked, “You have a meeting to attend tomorrow, right?”
Lu Cong said, “Not too long, I’ll be back soon to keep you company.”
“When will you take me out to have fun?” Lin Xiangqi didn’t mind Lu Cong restricting his going-out permissions at all. “Staying here too long is really boring.”
Lu Cong: “Anytime. Is there anywhere you want to go?”
Lin Xiangqi said, “I want to visit home once.”
Lu Cong didn’t say anything, just looked up at him.
Lin Xiangqi realized and explained, “The place we used to live. I know it’s been torn down, but I just want to visit, after all… it used to be home.”
“Sure,” Lu Cong said, “I’ve been busy lately, let’s wait a bit, okay?”
Lin Xiangqi heard that and couldn’t refuse: “No rush, Alliance duties are important. You focus on your work.”
He didn’t doubt Lu Cong’s words at all. To him, going home wasn’t a big deal, so Lu Cong had no reason not to take him. So he was definitely really busy.
He seemed to have forgotten that Lu Cong had just said he was free anytime.
In front of Lu Cong, Lin Xiangqi always thought simply about everything because he trusted Lu Cong wouldn’t harm him, so there was no need to analyze every word for hidden meanings.
If Lu Cong really lied, he probably wouldn’t mind much anyway. Because in most cases, Lu Cong’s lies were for his own good.
“I’ve been wanting to ask since a while ago,” Lin Xiangqi suddenly said, “What’s that down there?”
He moved slightly, trying to feel with his own body.
The hot water raised the temperature too much, and Lin Xiangqi’s internal pheromones were still raging, leaving his senses confused. To be honest, he couldn’t tell if Lu Cong was wearing pants or not.
He thought Lu Cong had something in his pocket.
Lu Cong: “… Don’t move.”
Lin Xiangqi: “Oh, okay.”
He obediently didn’t move, but reached down to touch, “Something’s poking me.”
Lu Cong: “……………”
After figuring it out, Lin Xiangqi was speechless: “…………………………………………………”
“Lu Cong… listen to me.”
Lin Xiangqi splashed a little in the water, swimming diagonally to Lu Cong’s position, trembling as he spoke,
“… Can I find someone else for a lifelong mark?”
Lu Cong’s expression visibly darkened. He silently stared at him.
Lin Xiangqi didn’t yet know what his words meant to Lu Cong, but he did know some things couldn’t be left unsaid—otherwise, it might be too late—he might lose him!
So Lin Xiangqi gathered courage and used gestures to explain, “It’s just… yours… it’s like this, this, and then also… this!”
He showed the length, the thickness, and even mimicked the curve.
Finally, clutching his head, he said in a terrified tone, “… it won’t fit.”
The atmosphere fell silent for a few seconds.
Lu Cong’s brow twitched almost imperceptibly, then he stood up and took a few steps closer to Lin Xiangqi. Lin Xiangqi wanted to run but had no chance, getting pulled tightly into Lu Cong’s arms.
Lu Cong said, “You want someone else to mark you just because of this?”
“How can you casually say ‘just because of this’?”
Lin Xiangqi looked at Lu Cong in frustration.
There was no hint of ambiguity or flirtation—what filled the air was Lin Xiangqi’s desperate will to survive.
He said, “I’m trying to live by curing this disease, but I feel like being marked by you for life might kill me.”
Lu Cong held his forehead, lowering his voice as much as possible to explain gently and patiently, “With pheromones involved, it’s not that scary. Trust me.”
Lin Xiangqi doubted, “Have you tried it on others?”
Lu Cong frowned, “Of course not.”
Lin Xiangqi: “Exactly! Just because you haven’t tried using it to kill someone doesn’t mean it can’t kill. I—uh uh uh?”
Lu Cong couldn’t bear it any longer, grabbed his chin, and kissed him.
After several minutes of deep kissing, Lu Cong didn’t let go of Lin Xiangqi. His fingers slowly stroked from his cheek to his lips, slipping between them.
In Lin Xiangqi’s confused gaze, Lu Cong suddenly said, “Suck it in.”
Lin Xiangqi was already lost about what Lu Cong was doing, but since Lu Cong said so, there must be a reason. He obediently opened his mouth.
Lu Cong’s hands were much rougher than when they were young, and touching the soft, sensitive inside of Lin Xiangqi’s mouth caused slight discomfort.
Lin Xiangqi instinctively used his tongue to push back in circles, making a dissatisfied humming sound.
After a long time, Lu Cong withdrew his fingers, pulling out a few strands of saliva that caught Lin Xiangqi’s tongue.
“How was it?” Lu Cong asked abruptly, “Can you take the finger?”
Lin Xiangqi was confused and didn’t know what “take” meant in this context, so he said, “A little uncomfortable, but I don’t know what the point of doing this is.”
“Don’t think about changing partners. I can start simple with you.”
Lu Cong held Lin Xiangqi’s waist, his hand slipping under the water, “Help you get used to it early.”
Lin Xiangqi shuddered suddenly, instinctively pressing against Lu Cong’s chest, his whole body tense: “Your… your hand!”
“Relax.”
Lu Cong remained expressionless, speaking in an almost serious tone, “I’m just trying.”
