Chapter 45: “Who Kisses Like That?”

Lin Xiangqi originally intended for Lu Cong to come over later, ensuring that his aunt and uncle were asleep so no one would notice their sneaky antics.

But Lu Cong seemed to miss Lin Xiangqi’s hint.

Barely two minutes after the video call ended, Lin Xiangqi heard the sound of the front door opening downstairs.

“He’s here already?!”

Flustered and anxious, he hurriedly turned off all the lights in the house, afraid that anyone across the street might notice he was still awake.

When Lu Cong pushed open the bedroom door, Lin Xiangqi was still pulling the curtains shut, making sure not a single sliver of light could escape. As he stepped back, he suddenly bumped into a warm, solid body.

Startled by Lu Cong’s heat, Lin Xiangqi shivered and turned to look at him. “Why are you so hot? Are you running a fever?” he asked, reaching to touch Lu Cong’s forehead.

Lu Cong effortlessly wrapped an arm around him, stopping his movement. Leaning down, he pressed his lips against Lin Xiangqi’s without a word, kissing him deeply.

In the dark room, every sound was amplified. All Lin Xiangqi could hear was the wet, intimate sound of their lips and tongues entwining, alongside the pounding of his own heartbeat.

Lin Xiangqi didn’t have the nerve to admit it, but he had missed Lu Cong terribly. It had only been less than two hours since they parted, yet he already longed for him intensely.

He had never been addicted to anything before, so he wasn’t sure if this counted as an addiction. But being around Lu Cong felt like everything was right, and being apart made him restless.

They had known each other for over a decade and had been apart before, but ever since Lin Xiangqi acknowledged his feelings, he could no longer suppress the emotions he used to keep hidden.

At first, Lin Xiangqi worried that his feelings were abnormal.

Thankfully, Lu Cong seemed even less able to contain his own emotions.

If both of them were abnormal, then that must mean they were normal.

Lin Xiangqi tilted his head up willingly, lifting his chin higher to let Lu Cong kiss him deeper. Lu Cong’s left arm circled his waist, while his right hand gently rested on Lin Xiangqi’s throat—not applying pressure, but making him feel enveloped in every sense.

Sensing Lin Xiangqi’s response, Lu Cong’s kiss shifted from gentle and tentative to urgent and intense, as if he wanted to steal every breath from Lin Xiangqi’s lungs. He kissed fiercely, his teeth grazing Lin Xiangqi’s lower lip, sucking the soft, red flesh until it glistened, then diving back in, chasing Lin Xiangqi’s shy tongue deeper.

Lin Xiangqi felt like he could barely breathe and tried to pull back for air, but Lu Cong gave him no chance to escape.

When the tip of Lu Cong’s tongue forcefully brushed against the roof of his mouth, sending a wave of uncontrollable tingling through him, Lin Xiangqi’s limbs went weak. He could barely stand, clinging to Lu Cong’s arms, his back pressed against Lu Cong’s chest.

He didn’t know how long they kissed—long enough for Lin Xiangqi to feel dizzy and oxygen-deprived. Only then did Lu Cong slowly pull back, deliberately lingering with a teasing lick and nibble on Lin Xiangqi’s lips as he withdrew.

Lin Xiangqi was completely drained, relying on Lu Cong to hold him up to keep from collapsing to the floor.

“…No more kissing. My lips hurt,” he said, glaring at Lu Cong with what he thought was a fierce look, but it came off as a soft, whiny pout, his voice low and hoarse, incapable of intimidating anyone.

Lu Cong watched as Lin Xiangqi’s slightly swollen lips moved, the plump, glistening curve of them still trailing a hint of moisture. Ignoring his words, Lu Cong leaned down and kissed him again.

“Don’t—mmph…” Lin Xiangqi hadn’t even caught his breath before his mouth was claimed again. He tried to speak, but his tongue was captured, and all he could manage were pitiful, enticing sounds.

It was only then that Lin Xiangqi realized.

The “kiss” Lu Cong had in mind was entirely different from what he had imagined.

Lin Xiangqi thought Lu Cong’s “kiss” meant a deep, lingering one to soothe the ache of their brief two-hour separation, and that would be it—then they’d part ways.

But Lu Cong clearly wanted more. It seemed he believed that as long as Lin Xiangqi could still breathe, their tongues shouldn’t part.

Lin Xiangqi’s vision darkened from the intensity of the kiss. Finally, out of desperation, he bit down on the tongue wreaking havoc in his mouth.

Lu Cong flinched in pain, his brows furrowing slightly, as if realizing he’d gone too far. He finally let go.

Lin Xiangqi’s lips were red and swollen, and he glared at Lu Cong resentfully. “Have you been drinking too much?”

“No,” Lu Cong said, lifting a hand to brush his thumb gently over Lin Xiangqi’s lips. “Does it hurt?”

Lin Xiangqi opened his mouth and playfully bit Lu Cong’s finger, grinding his teeth in mock anger. But Lu Cong, unfazed by the bite, showed no sign of pain. Frustrated, Lin Xiangqi let go and muttered, “It’s not comfortable at all. My lips hurt. Why are you biting and sucking like that? Who kisses like that…”

“Does it hurt a lot?” Lu Cong leaned closer, almost brushing Lin Xiangqi’s lips again. Seeing Lin Xiangqi’s alarmed expression, like a startled bird, he held back and carefully inspected his lips. “They’re not cut.”

Lin Xiangqi puffed out his cheeks indignantly. “It doesn’t have to be cut to hurt.”

Lu Cong had sucked and nibbled so intensely that Lin Xiangqi’s speech was slightly slurred.

“What should we do then?” Lu Cong asked.

Lin Xiangqi replied, “What do you mean, ‘what should we do’? Just stop kissing! You should sneak back home later, pretend you just went for a walk.”

Lu Cong refused flatly, “No way.”

His tone was firm, leaving no room for argument.

Lin Xiangqi blinked. “What do you mean, ‘no way’?”

Lu Cong said, “I want to kiss you.”

“Haven’t you already kissed me?” Lin Xiangqi shot back. “It’s done. Over.”

Lu Cong shook his head, his tone calm but resolute. “You said it hurts, so we’re taking a break. It’s not over.”

Lin Xiangqi stared at him with wide eyes, realizing Lu Cong wasn’t joking but was dead serious. He teased, “You’ve been at it since you walked in—ten minutes at least! Ten minutes isn’t enough? Are you addicted, Lu Cong?”

Lu Cong replied, “Yes.”

Lin Xiangqi laughed in exasperation. “Quit it!”

Lu Cong’s expression was hidden in the dim light, but his voice sounded almost aggrieved. His strong, broad arms tightened around Lin Xiangqi as he said, “I won’t quit.”

Lin Xiangqi realized that, despite Lu Cong seeming sober and not smelling of alcohol, those two drinks must have affected him.

This was the first time Lin Xiangqi had seen Lu Cong drunk. At first glance, he didn’t seem much different from usual, but his words revealed a childish side. Right now, Lu Cong was entirely driven by desire, clinging to Lin Xiangqi if unsatisfied. Yet, beneath it all, he remained gentle, with endless patience and care for Lin Xiangqi. When Lin Xiangqi seemed uncomfortable, Lu Cong would restrain his instincts and pause.

But if Lin Xiangqi kept refusing, Lu Cong would likely find a way to persist. His eyes were brimming with unfulfilled longing.

Lin Xiangqi wanted to tease him but feared getting burned. After some thought, he came up with a clever idea. He suddenly cupped Lu Cong’s face, looked into his eyes, and asked, “You really want to keep kissing?”

Lu Cong’s dark, intense gaze held nothing but affirmation.

Lin Xiangqi said, “Fine, but no tongue this time.”

Lu Cong frowned. “Why—”

Lin Xiangqi cut him off. “No deal, no kiss.”

Lu Cong looked like he was making a tough decision. After a long pause, he said in a low voice, “Got it.”

Lin Xiangqi patted his head, cooing, “Good boy, so obedient~~”

Lu Cong raised an eyebrow. “?”

Realizing what Lin Xiangqi was doing, he chuckled. “I’m not drunk. You don’t need to baby me like this.”

Lin Xiangqi didn’t care. He tilted his chin up, stood on his toes, and gave Lu Cong a quick peck on the lips. “So, you’re not obedient?”

Lu Cong had no idea how he was connected to the word “obedient,” but Lin Xiangqi clearly enjoyed using such a contrasting term for him.

Lu Cong went along with it. “If you want me to be obedient, I’ll be obedient.”

Lin Xiangqi was delighted. He grabbed Lu Cong’s shoulders, about to stand on his toes again, but paused. In a deliberately soft, teasing voice, he said, “Lu Cong, I can’t reach you~”

He expected Lu Cong to lean down, but instead, Lu Cong bent over, grabbed his legs, and lifted him clean off the ground.

Lin Xiangqi was suddenly airborne, towering over Lu Cong.

Lu Cong looked up at him. “Now?”

This top-down perspective gave Lin Xiangqi the illusion of being in control. He wrapped his legs tightly around Lu Cong’s waist, grinning. “Now I can reach.”

He leaned down happily to kiss Lu Cong.

Lin Xiangqi’s kisses were completely different from Lu Cong’s.

Though they’d kissed many times, Lin Xiangqi was usually on the receiving end of Lu Cong’s assertive advances, responding mostly by opening his mouth. So, his technique hadn’t improved much.

When Lin Xiangqi initiated the kiss, it was a bit awkward. Their lips pressed together lightly, calm and uneventful, like nothing significant was happening.

Lu Cong’s hands supported Lin Xiangqi’s soft hips, their bodies pressed impossibly close. He tilted his head up, patiently accepting Lin Xiangqi’s kiss. He didn’t rush despite Lin Xiangqi’s slow, clumsy pace, as if any kiss from Lin Xiangqi, no matter how simple, was enough to satisfy him.

But what Lu Cong didn’t expect was that, despite his lack of skill, Lin Xiangqi was eager to learn. After a moment of gentle pressing, he tentatively slipped his tongue past Lu Cong’s lips, exploring cautiously.

Lu Cong’s body tensed instantly, his muscles taut, his temperature spiking as if boiling with excitement. He instinctively wanted to respond, to tangle with Lin Xiangqi’s tongue.

“Mm… you’re not allowed to move,” Lin Xiangqi warned, pulling back with a stern look. “I’m in charge.”

Lu Cong was helpless. “Not even a little?”

Lin Xiangqi declared, “Nope. This time, I’m getting revenge.”

He was determined to kiss Lu Cong’s lips and tongue numb—just wait!

Lu Cong sighed, adopting a “do as you please” attitude. “Fine, go ahead.”

Lin Xiangqi’s attempt at taking the lead wasn’t exactly a success. He lacked the finesse to guide the kiss, fumbling when his tongue met Lu Cong’s, only managing to stir things up haphazardly.

After who-knows-how-long, Lin Xiangqi belatedly realized he’d somehow let Lu Cong take control again. But this time, Lu Cong was gentler, without the intense sucking or biting, making it comfortable enough that Lin Xiangqi didn’t resist.

The next morning, Lin Xiangqi wore a mask as he went next door for breakfast.

Lu Cong was the only one in the dining room.

Qi Ye, having been in meetings all night, was still asleep. Lu Huo, meanwhile, had received a confidential email at 3 a.m. and had left by helicopter.

No one but Lu Cong saw Lin Xiangqi remove his mask, revealing his red, swollen lips and the hickey on his neck that his high-collared sweater barely concealed.
