Chapter 78: Super S-rank contamination value detected…

Somewhere in the inner world, a man in the midst of a fierce battle seemed to sense something and looked into the distance, his brow slightly furrowed.

In a short period of time, the bodies of contaminants already lay scattered on the ground. The surrounding monsters, as if stimulated by the strong smell of blood, rushed forward with even more ferocity. However, before they could get close to Yan Xingzhou, countless arrows appeared out of thin air and whistled through the air, instantly piercing through their chests. The viscous black-green blood completely soaked the surrounding ground.

Throughout the process, Yan Xingzhou seemed completely oblivious, only the furrow in his brow deepened.

He could vaguely feel a sense of unease welling up from the depths of his heart. Although it was very subtle, it was undoubtedly an aura that allowed him to pinpoint, with great precision, the presence mixed in with these filthy contaminants.

Just a moment ago, he had been transferred here.

Although he couldn’t contact anyone else in the short term, it was highly probable that they had been separated just like him.

As he had guessed before, this world was alive. Every part of it was perfectly under the control of that contaminant.

And now, it seemed that one person had received completely different treatment from the rest of them.

Lin Xi.

That S-rank contaminant was after him.

Yan Xingzhou was about to head towards that familiar energy fluctuation without hesitation, but the next second, the step he had just taken was abruptly pulled back. Where his gaze fell, he could see the spot where he was about to land instantly distort. The originally solid ground vanished into thin air, and what appeared before him was a gaping abyss.

The trace of Lin Xi’s aura he had captured also became even more distant at that moment.

His already deep eyes darkened even further.

What the hell does this damned contaminant want to do?

Along with the roars coming from the bottom of the abyss, behind him were the rising and falling howls of more and more surging contaminants. Yan Xingzhou didn’t look back and just stepped towards the abyss.

The moment he stepped into the void, a bridge formed out of thin air and quickly spread across the abyss. The surging contaminants from behind were once again pierced through by dense thorn mountains rising from the ground.

In an instant, the scene was like a purgatory.

At the same time, on the other side, Samuel, drenched in sweat, fought off a swarm of contaminants, his expression filled with感慨at his own pathetic state.

He glanced at the unfamiliar surroundings and sighed helplessly. “To be thrown around so casually by a contaminant, how humiliating… I wonder how Yan and the others are doing now. I hope they’re okay. Oh, of course, except for that bastard Joseph.”

“Achoo—!”

In a moment of distraction, Joseph’s figure paused, unable to dodge in time. Another gash was cut into his already scarred face. He wiped away the oozing blood with his hand. As he slammed his palm down, the contaminants that were about to surge forward were crushed into meat paste by the heavy pressure before they could get close. His attention, however, remained fixed on the man in front of him, not daring to relax in the slightest. “I never thought I’d have a day where I’d be pushed into such a pathetic state by an evolver of your level.”

“That’s probably because you think too little.” Su Qiuyin was not in a much better state, which made his face look even grimmer.

If the scene hadn’t switched so suddenly just now, he wouldn’t have been distracted, giving Joseph a chance to catch his breath and escape.

Contaminants continued to pour in endlessly. The two men were wary of each other, not daring to relax for a moment. In this extremely tense state, their chests heaved with heavy panting.

At this moment, his sharp perception made Su Qiuyin unhesitatingly move to the side. As an immense pressure fell, a deep pit was left where he had just been standing, along with the shattered remains of a contaminant that had tried to pounce on him.

Su Qiuyin let out a hoarse, sardonic laugh. “It seems you’re really in a hurry to get rid of me.”

An increasingly cold sound wave gathered around him. His gaze was fixed on Joseph. “But so am I. After all, for both you and me, dealing with those awful contaminants while being entangled with each other is a very troublesome thing.”

Joseph clearly agreed with Su Qiuyin’s statement. As his words fell, just as he was about to make a quick decision to resolve this terrible situation, something suddenly caught his peripheral vision, making him look over. “…What is this?”

Su Qiuyin didn’t answer.

For a moment, his expression was somewhat indescribable.

As if dyed by a sea of fire, the sky at the end of their vision gradually took on a conspicuous crimson hue.

Something was burning completely.

In a majestic building that was already engulfed in a sea of fire.

Abyss, the ruler of this inner world, seemed completely unconcerned about the castle that was about to be reduced to ashes. He stared fixedly at the man surrounded by flames in front of him, his tone filled with curiosity. “A fire-based ability? Is this what you used to defeat Calamity?”

Lin Xi thought about this question, the flames swirling around him blooming wantonly around the thorns on his neck. “You could say that.”

Abyss sneered. “With just this, it’s useless against me here.”

Lin Xi’s lips stretched into a grin, letting the equally flamboyant smile in his eyes show. He tilted his head in a rather harmless manner. “Whether it’s useful or not, you’ll know once you try.”

As soon as his voice fell, he could hear a roar right next to his ear.

Glancing to the side, dense black shadows shot out from a suddenly torn space behind him without any warning. Under this sudden turn of events, the smile in his eyes grew even wider.

There was no sound of flesh being torn by claws. The moment the flames touched them, it was as if they had evaporated into thin air, leaving no chance to escape. The contaminants, who were ferocious a moment ago, were instantly reduced to a pile of charred remains.

An instinctual fear made the contaminants at the rear whimper and subconsciously retreat for a moment, only to be driven forward again by the controlling force.

In a short time, gradually accumulating crystal cores were scattered throughout the ancient castle. A complex expression finally appeared in the massive eye on Abyss’s face. “No, your ability is…”

“I told you before, you’ll know once you try.”

The golden color in Lin Xi’s pupils had long been completely swallowed by blood-red. The smell of burning flesh made the expression on his face appear even more excited. His slightly raised tone was filled with distinct pleasure. “How about it? It’s about time for you to experience it personally, Your Excellency Abyss.”

Dense flames suddenly coiled and roared towards the tall black figure.

The moment it hit, a rift was suddenly torn in space, instantly swallowing all the swirling flames.

Abyss’s expression no longer held any trace of mockery, his tone flat. “No matter what your ability is, as long as you are here, you can never defeat me. Just as I said before,”

What answered Him was Lin Xi’s light chuckle. “Is that so.”

A subtle movement flickered in Abyss’s eye. Suddenly, He seemed to sense something. “This is… How can this be!?”

Lin Xi slowly walked towards Him. With every step, layers of flames spread wantonly at his feet like continuously growing black vines, gradually constructing a purgatorial world woven from fire around them.

The words that floated in the air were like a low, murmuring nightmare. “I’ve heard very clearly all along. In this world that you have personally crafted piece by piece, the movement of every puzzle piece allows you to play with everything inside. I certainly agree with that point. But the premise of all this is that this world itself exists, so—”

He walked up to Abyss, looking at the master of this rift world through the torn fault in space, as if genuinely curious. “If the puzzle pieces that make up this world no longer exist, how will you continue this game?”

Abyss’s tone was low. “You try it.”

Lin Xi’s face was smiling. “Then, let’s try it.”

With his words, the flames roared and expanded, finally swallowing the entire ancient castle.

The broken ruins collapsed layer by layer under the massive devouring.

“Beep—! Beep beep beep—! Beep beep beep beep beep beep—!!!”

Near the rift entrance, in the peripheral monitoring station that was nervously watching the situation at the rift, the machines, sensing something, all let out a sharp cry in unison.

In an instant, the screen wall that had been displaying feedback data was covered with dense red warning signals.

The scene was already on high alert. Under this sudden turn of events, someone immediately exclaimed, “What’s going on?”

A situation that had never occurred before left everyone a little stunned. However, before they could confirm again, under the excessively high detection values, the equipment on site, amidst the constantly flashing alarms, all fell into chaos.

After a few seconds of continuous alarms, all the monitoring instruments, under the strain of collapse, exploded in a shower of sparks one after another.

“No, this situation is…”

A staff member was the first to react. His face instantly drained of all color, and he practically scrambled out. “No, no, no, this is bad! Something big is about to happen! The rift, inside this rift—a Super S-rank contamination value fluctuation has been detected! It’s super… super super super, Super S-rank ahhhhhh—!!!”
