ISWTDB Ch51
Chapter 51: All My Money Is Yours (School Supernatural) (5,6)
He didn’t have many pairs of pants to begin with, and going back to change would take too long. So instead of returning to change, it was better to sew them here. Thus, Lei Che didn’t refuse, took off his outer pants, and took the needle and thread from Ying Zhao, starting to sew them skillfully.
Seeing Lei Che like this, Ying Zhao smacked his lips and went to the small kitchen on the side, taking out all the ingredients from the fridge.
Choosing a few easy-to-cook dishes, Ying Zhao quickly prepared the ingredients and then tossed them into the pan to stir-fry. While Lei Che was sewing his pants, he smelled the aroma of food wafting in from outside the door and couldn’t help but swallow.
It was already near noon, and he had only eaten a bun with pickles in the morning. Smelling the aroma of the food outside, Lei Che’s stomach rumbled.
He felt his pocket and took out a piece of hard, dry bread from his bag, chewing on it—this was the lunch Lei Che had prepared for himself.
Even though Lei Che was actually quite wealthy now, the days of hunger and cold still haunted his dreams at midnight.
So even though he now possessed great wealth, he still cherished every penny and was very frugal with his food, clothing, and other expenses.
When Ying Zhao walked into the room with the cooked dishes, he saw Lei Che had already put on his mended pants, chewing on the dry bread while staring blankly at the door.
Looking at his poor lover gnawing on the hard bread, Ying Zhao couldn’t help but twitch his lips. Although he knew his lover was frugal due to the traumas of his childhood, this habit might not be good for his physical development.
So Ying Zhao quickly placed the dishes on the table, walked over to look into Lei Che’s eyes, and said, “It’s noon now, let’s eat lunch together.”
Lei Che, seeing the fragrant food on the table, swallowed but still frowned and shook his head at Ying Zhao.
He stood up to leave but was suddenly pinched on the cheek by Ying Zhao. Ying Zhao smiled and teased:
“You’re too skinny. As the school doctor, it’s my duty to take care of every student’s health. If I hadn’t seen you, it would be different, but since you’re here, just sit down and have lunch with me.”
With that, Ying Zhao grabbed Lei Che’s arm, pulled him to the table, and pressed him into a chair. Then, he sat down next to Lei Che, and before Lei Che could react, he shoved a piece of meat into his mouth with his chopsticks.
Caught off guard, Lei Che was stuffed with a big piece of beef and froze for a moment. But the delicious meat juice filled his taste buds, and he couldn’t help but chew and quickly swallowed it.
Seeing Lei Che eat the food he made, Ying Zhao’s face lit up with a smile. He then put the chopsticks in Lei Che’s hand and gently said, “Eat.”
Lei Che looked at Ying Zhao, who had already started eating without caring about him, then looked at the food in front of him, his expression complicated.
Since he had already taken the first bite, there was no need to be pretentious. Besides, the food was so delicious that he couldn’t resist.
So, he relaxed and started eating with Ying Zhao. Ying Zhao had only made two dishes, one with meat and one with vegetables.
Though the variety wasn’t much, the portions were large, as he wasn’t sure how much Lei Che could eat. After one bowl of rice, Ying Zhao was already full.
So, he watched Lei Che devour the food he made with a smiling face. Gradually, Ying Zhao’s expression turned from a smile to seriousness.
Ying Zhao furrowed his brow, watching Lei Che finish his fourth bowl of rice, shoveling all the remaining dishes into his stomach, even scraping the sauce from the plates.
He looked at Lei Che’s thin body and his obviously swollen stomach, and asked worriedly, “Hey, are you really okay eating this much?”
Just as Lei Che was about to nod in response, his expression quickly turned unpleasant. He pressed his lips together, not saying anything further.
Seeing Lei Che’s discomfort, Ying Zhao moved closer and said nervously:
“Are you stupid? Or are you a child who can’t even tell when you’re full!”
Noting Lei Che’s obvious discomfort, Ying Zhao couldn’t help but say, “Maybe you should throw up.”
Lei Che shook his head vigorously at Ying Zhao, whispering, “Can’t waste it.”
This was the first time in this world that Ying Zhao heard his lover speak. Though his tone was somewhat strange, understanding Lei Che’s intention made Ying Zhao’s heart ache.
So, he ate all the remaining food just to avoid wasting it?
Ying Zhao sighed inwardly, quickly stood up, found some digestive tablets, and handed them to Lei Che, urging him to take them quickly.
He then massaged Lei Che’s stomach, hoping he would feel better soon. Once Lei Che’s complexion improved a bit, Ying Zhao scolded him, “You can put the leftovers in the fridge; you don’t have to stuff them all into your stomach!”
Lei Che looked at Ying Zhao, his face turning pale, realizing that his earlier actions were somewhat foolish, feeling a surge of regret.
Seeing Lei Che’s expression, Ying Zhao couldn’t help but smile. When he seemed less uncomfortable, Ying Zhao teased him:
“Though, I noticed you seemed to enjoy the food. What? Was my cooking so good that you wanted to eat yourself to death?”
What started as a joke unexpectedly had Lei Che nodding without hesitation. He thought to himself, it was delicious; it was so good he almost wanted to swallow his tongue.
Lei Che couldn’t cook, and his sister, Lei Ting, was known for her terrible cooking. Lei Che was too frugal to order takeout or eat out, so such home-cooked meals were a real treat for him, something he hadn’t enjoyed in a long time.
Ying Zhao knew his cooking skills were decent but not extraordinary. Seeing his lover appreciate his food so much, looking like he hadn’t had good food in ages, made Ying Zhao feel even more compassionate.
He reached out and rubbed Lei Che’s forehead forcefully, smiling, “You little rascal, you sure know how to flatter!”
They stayed quiet for a while longer until Ying Zhao was sure Lei Che’s stomach was okay before letting him leave. After all, he still had classes to attend in the afternoon.
As for Lan Lili, who said she would visit Lei Che after class, she never showed up, which was expected. Without other students around to watch her, she wouldn’t waste her efforts.
However, shortly after Lei Che left, Ying Zhao didn’t expect Lei Ting to come and visit him. Lei Ting and the original Ying Hanyu knew each other since they worked at the same school.
School doctors were often respected by students and referred to as teachers. Lei Ting, though young, was highly loved by students for her outstanding teaching abilities.
Lei Ting and Ying Hanyu usually just exchanged nods, so Ying Zhao didn’t expect Lei Ting to seek him out. Knowing the relationship between Lei Ting and Lei Che, he immediately gave her a bright smile typical of the original owner, and said:
“Teacher Lei, what brings you here? Is there something you need?”
Lei Ting blushed slightly at Ying Zhao’s smile and said gratefully:
“Doctor Ying, I came to thank you. I heard you helped bandage Lei Che’s wound this afternoon. You might not know, but I’m actually Lei Che’s older sister.”
Ying Zhao feigned surprise and said, “What? You two are siblings?”
He then leaned closer to study Lei Ting’s face and nodded, remarking, “Yes, I see the resemblance! So his name is Lei Che. When I was bandaging him this afternoon, I thought, although this kid is silent, he’s quite handsome. But with such a beautiful sister, it’s no wonder the younger brother would be good-looking too.”
Lei Ting’s face turned even redder at Ying Zhao’s words, and she quickly waved her hand, saying, “Doctor Ying, you flatter me!”
Ying Zhao didn’t mind Lei Ting’s reaction, knowing the original owner’s personality. He then casually asked:
“I never heard you had such a brother, Teacher Lei.”
Lei Ting nodded and smiled, replying:
“Xiao Che doesn’t want people at school to know about our relationship. He thinks if people knew, they might say he got in through connections, which wouldn’t be good for him. So I didn’t tell anyone. Besides, he doesn’t like interacting with others. When he gets hurt, he usually handles it quietly by himself. But he followed you to get bandaged, so I think Doctor Ying must have some special skill.”
Hearing Lei Ting’s words, Ying Zhao smiled inwardly, thinking, should I tell you I forcibly grabbed his arm and dragged him back?
Outwardly, he nodded and said, “I’ve been doing psychological counseling for a long time, so I understand students’ thoughts to some extent.”
Lei Ting admired him even more, expressing her gratitude again. After she finished, Ying Zhao looked puzzled and asked:
“But I wanted to ask, Teacher Lei, about Lei Che’s clothes…”
Ying Zhao glanced at Lei Ting’s delicate professional attire. Lei Ting knew he was referring to Lei Che’s worn-out clothes, and her face showed a look of desolation and sadness.
“Actually, it’s because of some things that happened when we were young.”
Lei Ting then detailed to Ying Zhao the hardships Lei Che had endured over the years, which led to his somewhat strange personality and habits.
She knew that although Ying Zhao was now also acting as the school doctor, his expertise was in psychological counseling, and he occasionally gave students counseling sessions.
So, she told Ying Zhao all these things, hoping that if he had the chance, he could pay more attention to Lei Che and talk to him. She hoped Ying Zhao could help open Lei Che’s heart and make him more cheerful.
Ying Zhao naturally nodded and agreed to her request. After all, this was his own man. If he didn’t open his heart, who else would?
The two chatted for a while longer until it was almost time for class, and Lei Ting left the tower. After Lei Ting left, Ying Zhao closed the door and reflected on how he met his lover under such circumstances today.
But Ying Zhao thought it was a good start. Not only did he help his lover bandage his wound, but he also cooked for him and was even entrusted by his sister to take care of him more.
Although Lei Che left without saying a word, Ying Zhao believed in his man’s feelings for him. He would definitely come back to find him.
And Ying Zhao’s guess was indeed correct. Since that day, Lei Che, although not actively seeking him out at the tower, had significantly increased the number of times he walked past it.
Almost every day, Lei Che would pass by several times, letting himself be seen by Ying Zhao, who silently watched him from the window. Lei Che, after walking a distance away, would occasionally glance back towards the tower.
Ying Zhao once stepped out of the tower, wanting to greet Lei Che. But as soon as Lei Che saw him coming out, he hurriedly ran away.
Ying Zhao twitched his mouth at this thought, feeling exasperated at how his man could be so timid in this life. But since that was the case, he didn’t force it. Anyway, he wouldn’t be the one suffering from waiting longer.
So he continued to enjoy drinking tea, watering flowers, and watching a certain someone perform the act of walking by his window countless times.
After working as the school doctor for a few days, Ying Zhao found it a very relaxed job, with few students seeking him out. He had plenty of free time and didn’t stay in his tower every day.
Although his place was elegant, staying in one place for too long could get boring. So Ying Zhao would occasionally stroll around the campus and sometimes go to slightly farther places to buy daily necessities.
This evening, after work, it was already completely dark when Ying Zhao remembered that he was out of some household items. So he went out to a nearby supermarket to buy them.
On his way back, he suddenly heard rustling sounds behind him.
Without needing the system’s help, Ying Zhao could tell someone was sneakily following him. And it seemed there wasn’t just one person; there was also someone very familiar.
Ying Zhao smirked at this thought. It seemed fate was on his side. He wondered how his man would handle this situation.
So Ying Zhao quickened his pace, deliberately heading towards a secluded area. Sure enough, before long, the footsteps behind him became chaotic, indicating they couldn’t wait to approach him.
After a while, Ying Zhao pretended to notice something, turned around, and saw a man with a dagger coming towards him, shouting, “Don’t move! Hand over the money!”
Ying Zhao raised an eyebrow at the man, knowing that such a person couldn’t possibly be his opponent. However, he still put on a nervous expression and said:
“Okay, okay! Don’t get excited; I’ll give you the money now!”
But just as Ying Zhao reached into his pocket, a dark figure suddenly jumped out from the side, holding a rock and charging at the robber.
Lei Che quickly smashed the rock into the man’s head, making him bleed. Ying Zhao saw Lei Che gasping heavily, seemingly wanting to continue hitting the robber, and hurriedly stopped him.
Ying Zhao restrained the robber’s hands, seeing he was completely knocked out, and quickly told Lei Che, “Call the police now.”
Lei Che nodded hurriedly, pulled out his phone, and called the police. The police arrived soon after.
As there had been several robberies near the campus recently, the police suspected the robber might be a serial offender. They took Ying Zhao and Lei Che to the station to ask about the incident. By the time everything was settled, it was already late at night.
When Ying Zhao and Lei Che left the police station, Ying Zhao still held his groceries, and he was just thinking he hadn’t had dinner when Lei Che’s stomach growled loudly.
Ying Zhao turned to look at Lei Che, whose cheeks instantly turned red, making him burst out laughing. He leaned in and whispered to Lei Che, “Thank you for saving me.”
Lei Che shook his head in response. Ying Zhao then asked him:
“But why were you there? That’s not a place people usually pass by. I thought I was doomed this time.”
Lei Che felt nervous at Ying Zhao’s question, as it wasn’t a coincidence that he was there. For some reason, since the day the school doctor bandaged his wound, Lei Che had felt a sense of concern.
