Chapter 34: The Disabled Brother of the Wealthy Male Lead (12, 13)

Ying Zhao pulled the blanket down a bit, revealing his eyes as he blinked innocently at Lin Yiting and said, “Brother Yiting, it’s thundering outside.”

Lin Yiting was stunned for a moment upon hearing Ying Zhao’s words, and then a smile unknowingly formed at the corner of his mouth. Could it be that his Xiao Zhou was afraid of the sound of thunder?

But it seemed he didn’t remember Xiao Zhou being afraid of thunder when he was younger. Thinking of this, Lin Yiting felt a bit puzzled, but before he could think further, he felt an arm wrapping around his waist.

Suddenly, Ying Zhao snuggled directly into his arms. Ying Zhao hugged Lin Yiting’s waist tightly, burying his head deeply into the other’s embrace.

The feeling of finally holding his lover made him sigh in his heart with a sense of relief, and he contentedly rubbed against Lin Yiting’s chest.

Ying Zhao turned his head, squinted his eyes, and said to Lin Yiting, “Brother Yiting, can I sleep with you tonight?”

Ying Zhao was only twenty-four years old in this world, and after taking off his glasses, his face still had a hint of youthful innocence. It unconsciously reminded Lin Yiting of his childhood appearance.

Thinking he was truly afraid or just wanted to be spoiled, Lin Yiting nodded to Ying Zhao. Seeing Lin Yiting agree, a look of satisfaction flashed across Ying Zhao’s face as he raised his head and kissed the corner of Lin Yiting’s mouth.

He casually asked, “What did you do today? Anything interesting?”

Lin Yiting heard Ying Zhao’s casual tone, recalling that he had just handled a day of business with nothing interesting happening.

He suddenly realized he wanted to chat more with Xiao Zhou but didn’t know what to say, as he himself had no hobbies and was a rather boring person.

Feeling a bit dejected, Lin Yiting then felt his lips soften for a moment. It turned out that while he was lost in thought, Ying Zhao kissed the corner of his mouth again.

Lin Yiting looked at Ying Zhao in a daze and said to him, “Xiao Zhou, what are you doing?”

Ying Zhao laughed even more in his heart but innocently said to Lin Yiting, “Of course, I’m kissing you! Brother Yiting, just treat it as daily practice.”

As Ying Zhao spoke, he kissed Lin Yiting twice more, and Lin Yiting reflexively kissed Ying Zhao back.

The two of them continued chatting while intermittently kissing. There was no hint of lust, but rather a sense of warmth.

Then Ying Zhao talked to Lin Yiting about having dinner and chatting with Lin Ze and some childhood friends today. Lin Yiting was very concerned about Ying Zhao going out with Lin Ze today.

Especially seeing him return in Lin Ze’s car, and Lin Ze clearly looking like he wanted to get closer to Ying Zhao.

This made Lin Yiting very jealous, but at this moment, Ying Zhao proactively mentioned the interesting things they discussed tonight.

Lin Yiting couldn’t focus on the dinner conversation as all his attention was on Ying Zhao’s continuous kisses.

Ying Zhao lay comfortably in Lin Yiting’s arms, feeling that being embraced by his lover made him completely relaxed.

He played with Lin Yiting’s hand in his palm, thinking that the other’s hand was really big. In comparison, although his own fingers were slender and long, his hand was still a size smaller.

Ying Zhao pinched Lin Yiting’s palm and tried interlocking their fingers. The two lay quietly together, and soon, Ying Zhao fell asleep.

Seeing Ying Zhao sleeping defenselessly in his arms, Lin Yiting hesitated before reaching out to stroke his soft hair and kiss his forehead. Then he held Ying Zhao tightly in his arms.

Though Lin Yiting had slept in the same bed with Ying Zhao when he was very young, since Ying Zhao grew older, he had been avoiding such situations.

So, after many years, this was the first time Ying Zhao, as an adult, slept in his embrace.

Lin Yiting couldn’t describe his complex feelings, but holding his beloved in his arms gave him a real sense of happiness.

At one moment, Lin Yiting felt an illusion that he truly possessed the other, and they were like countless ordinary lovers, holding hands and embracing each other.

Lifting their clasped hands, Lin Yiting kissed the back of Ying Zhao’s hand and softly said, “Good night, Xiao Zhou. Sweet dreams.”

The next morning, Ying Zhao woke up early, but when he turned his head and looked at Lin Yiting’s face, he noticed the other’s trembling eyelashes, realizing Lin Yiting seemed to have woken up earlier than him.

In fact, Lin Yiting had hardly slept all night, just staring blankly at Ying Zhao’s face. In the morning, he still watched the other greedily, unwilling to let the night end so quickly.

However, as the sun rose and he felt Ying Zhao gradually waking up in his arms, Lin Yiting hurriedly closed his eyes, pretending to be asleep.

Seeing the dark circles under Lin Yiting’s eyes, Ying Zhao could roughly guess. He smiled helplessly and then leaned over to kiss Lin Yiting’s lips firmly.

Seeing Lin Yiting open his eyes in shock, Ying Zhao showed him a bright smile and said, “Good morning, wife!”

Lin Yiting felt dazzled by such a radiant smile and didn’t notice what Ying Zhao called him. He was dazed for a while before stammering, “Good morning, Xiao Zhou.”

Seeing Lin Yiting’s dazed expression, Ying Zhao felt in a great mood, leaning in to rub his nose against Lin Yiting’s prominent nose and smiled:

“Today is the weekend, and I don’t need to rush back to school early. Brother Yiting, I’ll have Uncle Lin prepare breakfast. Let’s eat together in the room, okay?”

Lin Yiting nodded upon hearing this. He naturally wouldn’t refuse Ying Zhao’s request. Although weekends were not really rest days for him.

But to accompany Ying Zhao, it was absolutely no problem to make himself busier during weekdays to free up the weekend.

Before long, Uncle Lin had prepared a sumptuous breakfast and brought it to the room on a trolley. Ying Zhao took the trolley with a smile and thanked Uncle Lin before closing the door.

He pulled out the bed table, placed the food, and then climbed back under the covers. Leaning against Lin Yiting, he picked up a sandwich from the plate and brought it to Lin Yiting’s face, saying, “Ah!”

Lin Yiting blushed slightly and shook his head at Ying Zhao, saying, “Xiao Zhou, I can eat by myself.”

This time, Ying Zhao didn’t insist. Instead, he nodded earnestly and said:

“Well then, since that’s the case, Brother Yiting, you can eat by yourself. But today, I don’t feel like eating by myself. Can you feed me?”

Lin Yiting was stunned by Ying Zhao’s request but still picked up the sandwich and brought it to Ying Zhao’s mouth. Ying Zhao smiled, squinted his eyes, took a bite, and nodded in satisfaction.

He then brought the sandwich to Lin Yiting’s mouth, smiling as he said, “Brother Yiting, try it. Uncle Lin’s breakfast tastes really good.”

Lin Yiting looked at the crescent-shaped bite mark left by Ying Zhao on the sandwich and swallowed hard. Blushing, he took a bite from the same spot Ying Zhao had bitten, finding the food seemed much more delicious than usual today.

The two of them ate breakfast, taking turns with each bite. This kind of interaction made Lin Yiting feel both warm and sweet.

Clearly, he should avoid such intimacy, but he couldn’t resist and didn’t stop it. Lin Yiting felt himself growing increasingly greedy, becoming more indulgent toward Ying Zhao’s actions.

Since that day, Ying Zhao had been coming to Lin Yiting’s room with a pillow more and more often, with all sorts of excuses: afraid of the dark, feeling bored, not wanting to sleep alone…

Lin Yiting could never refuse Ying Zhao’s closeness. Eventually, Ying Zhao simply added an extra pillow to Lin Yiting’s bed. At night, they liked to kiss and chat idly.

In the mornings, they would eat breakfast together, sharing bites. Lin Yiting felt as if he was living in heaven every day during this period.

Having Ying Zhao’s company and kisses, and being able to hold his beloved while sleeping, made his days incredibly sweet. Despite constantly reminding himself to stay clear-headed, he couldn’t help but sink deeper into it.

But there was one thing Lin Yiting stubbornly held on to: he believed that everything he had now didn’t truly belong to him.

It was all sweetness given by Xiao Zhou out of pity. So, he cherished what he thought was limited time even more.

He felt every moment Ying Zhao stayed by his side was precious. As for the future, when Ying Zhao would leave him, he didn’t dare think about it.

Even the slightest thought would plunge him into pain and anxiety.

So, Lin Yiting chose to escape, pretending these problems didn’t exist as long as he didn’t think about them. But Ying Zhao would never let him continue to escape.

Ying Zhao felt that these days he had been like a frog in warm water, letting Lin Yiting get used to his hugs and kisses, used to sleeping together.

Through their daily sweet interactions, he invaded the man’s life bit by bit. Lin Yiting seemed to have adapted well, no longer resisting him at all.

Ying Zhao could even sense that the other had become deeply immersed, almost unable to extricate himself. So, he felt it was time to lay his cards on the table.

One night, while they were kissing and chatting about interesting things that happened at the academy, Ying Zhao suddenly held Lin Yiting’s hand and softly said, “Don’t you think it’s nice for us to always be like this?”

Lin Yiting was stunned by Ying Zhao’s words, turning his head in confusion as if he didn’t understand what he meant.

Ying Zhao smiled gently at Lin Yiting and said softly:

“Brother Yiting, I mean that I think it would be great if we lived like this for a lifetime. I remember saying when I was little that I would marry you in the future. I was serious. What do you think? Let’s be together, okay?”

Lin Yiting wanted to tell Ying Zhao, as he had in the past, to stop joking with him. But seeing the determined look in Ying Zhao’s eyes, he swallowed the words he was about to say.

Lin Yiting’s nerves were taut. He hadn’t expected to hear such a confession from Ying Zhao. It gave him a moment of sweetness.

However, thinking about his crippled legs, his mood turned painful. Lin Yiting thought desperately that he was disabled and had bipolar disorder.

In the past, he had undergone numerous surgeries and taken a lot of medication for his legs. In the years he had decided to protect Ying Zhao, he had taken many drugs to control his emotions.

Lin Yiting always knew his health wasn’t as good as it looked. How could he possibly give Xiao Zhou true happiness with such a weak body?

He was already much older than Xiao Zhou. If he agreed for a moment’s happiness but didn’t live long, wouldn’t he ruin Xiao Zhou’s life?

Thinking this, Lin Yiting closed his eyes in pain, took a deep breath to hide his sadness, and shook his head at Ying Zhao, saying:

“Xiao Zhou, I’ve said it before, it’s impossible between us. I only see you as my little brother.”

Ying Zhao frowned at his words but saw the evident pain in Lin Yiting’s eyes. A little thought made him understand the reason. He wanted to force the other to face it but couldn’t bear to in the end.

Lowering his eyes, Ying Zhao always knew the physical issues were the root of Lin Yiting’s rejection. He hadn’t expected the man to be so resolute this time. It seemed he needed a better opportunity.

But if, after solving this problem, the man still dares to refuse me…

Thinking of this, a cold light flashed in Ying Zhao’s eyes. However, he curved his lips into a smile and said to Lin Yiting:

“Brother Yiting, why are you answering me so seriously? I was joking with you.”

Hearing Ying Zhao say this, Lin Yiting finally felt a sense of relief, not sure whether he was grateful or disappointed. He didn’t want to confront Xiao Zhou like this; if he really hurt the other’s feelings, he feared Ying Zhao would ignore him in the future.

Moreover, Lin Yiting had to admit that he was reluctant to give up the current intimate days he spent with Ying Zhao.

After saying these words, the atmosphere between them became somewhat heavy. So, they didn’t continue chatting and instead fell silent and went to sleep early.

In the following days, Ying Zhao began to work diligently on clinical experiments in his research lab at the school. He hoped to quickly prove that his research results wouldn’t cause adverse reactions in the human body.

However, obtaining such experimental results required a large amount of data support, and behind that, a lot of experiments and time were needed.

While Ying Zhao was busy with his research, rumors about him started to slowly spread around the school.

At some point, rumors began circulating at Shenglin Academy, saying that Ying Zhao had achieved his position as a professor at such a young age, not just because he was a genius.

It was also due to his looks and family background, relying on his family’s influence and ambiguous relationships with his mentors to gain his current honors.

Ying Zhao was actually aware of these rumors. Even if no one told him, with System Xiao Bai around, he couldn’t miss any changes in the surroundings.

He also knew clearly who was spreading these rumors, but Ying Zhao didn’t take it to heart. He knew that over the years, the man had always been like a peeping tom, paying close attention to every little change around him.

Naturally, the man would quickly find out that someone at Shenglin Academy was slandering him. Even if he didn’t take action, Lin Yiting would solve these problems for him. All he needed to do now was to complete his work as soon as possible.

Sure enough, Lin Yiting’s people at Shenglin Academy soon reported that such rumors had arisen recently, which were very detrimental to Ying Zhao’s reputation.

Having watched Ying Zhao grow up, Lin Yiting naturally knew these rumors were completely baseless. He was furious and immediately ordered an investigation into the matter.

Meng Jiaqi, who didn’t have any clever tricks, was quickly found out by Lin Yiting’s people as the one who spread all these rumors.

Upon finding out, Lin Yiting was furious, especially when he saw Meng Jiaqi’s photo and noticed the resemblance to Ying Zhao’s face. This made him even angrier.

What does this guy think he is? He’s not even worth a strand of Xiao Zhou’s hair, yet he has the audacity to spread rumors about Xiao Zhou!

Since it was Lin Yiting’s order, his subordinates naturally dug deeply into Meng Jiaqi’s background. Meng Jiaqi’s family conditions were not good. On the surface, he seemed to be a hardworking and excellent student.

However, upon closer investigation, it was found that although Meng Jiaqi got into a prestigious university through his own efforts, his grades in university had always been dismal.

He had failed many subjects in his first year and was almost expelled from Shenglin Academy in the second semester of his freshman year due to poor grades.

However, in his second year, Meng Jiaqi’s grades suddenly improved dramatically. He not only passed all his exams but also achieved excellent results. He ranked at the top of his class and even received scholarships.

Lin Yiting couldn’t believe that Meng Jiaqi had suddenly turned over a new leaf and started studying hard. He felt there must be something fishy and instructed his people to investigate further.

Sure enough, it was found that Meng Jiaqi had an ambiguous relationship with Liu Fu, the life tutor responsible for their grade. This tutor was in charge of the exam arrangements and printing the test papers each semester.

So, Liu Fu had leaked the exam contents to Meng Jiaqi in advance, allowing him to achieve such excellent results.

Lin Yiting sneered when he saw the photos of the middle-aged man with a potbelly and the indecent bed photos of him and Meng Jiaqi.

What a so-called life tutor, merely a nanny assigned to each grade by the academy, incapable of teaching. It was disgusting how he managed to get such a cushy job at Shenglin Academy, and even more so how he had a family but still engaged in such filthy behavior with his student.

Since Meng Jiaqi dared to spread rumors about his Xiao Zhou, Lin Yiting decided to let the whole of Shenglin Academy know about his disgrace.

The next day, a series of fresh photos on the school’s bulletin board caught everyone’s attention.

As soon as Meng Jiaqi arrived at school, he sensed something was off. It seemed that everyone who passed by looked at him strangely, with some even whispering.

Sensing something was wrong, he looked around to find out what was happening and saw many people gathered around the school’s bulletin board.

He wondered what could be so important on the usually trivial bulletin board to attract so many people.

Especially when he approached, everyone quickly pretended to leave.

Seeing this, Meng Jiaqi hurried to the bulletin board and found it covered with indecent photos of himself and Liu Fu.

He opened his mouth in shock and hurriedly tried to tear the photos down. However, too many people had already seen them, and it was too late to remove them now.

Meng Jiaqi’s eyes were bloodshot, feeling a rush of anxiety and urgency. He knew that soon this news would spread, and everyone would know about the scandal between him and Liu Fu.

For a moment, Meng Jiaqi panicked. If it were someone else, they might be able to claim they were genuinely in love.

But the key issue was that Liu Fu was not only over forty, ugly, but also already married. No one would believe they were together out of true love.

Meng Jiaqi had been feigning affection with Liu Fu all this time just to improve his grades. After all, since starting university, he had neglected his studies due to the need to work for his tuition fees.

Moreover, after being reborn, Meng Jiaqi, who had worked as an MB in his previous life, no longer considered physical transactions as taboo. If it could bring him tangible benefits, he didn’t mind sacrificing occasionally.

And Meng Jiaqi did have some means, making Liu Fu believe he truly loved him, which was why Liu Fu took the risk to secretly provide him with exam papers.

But he never expected they would be photographed in bed together. Meng Jiaqi panicked, hurriedly wanting to find Liu Fu to discuss countermeasures.

However, as soon as he arrived at the office, Liu Fu slapped him hard, instantly turning Meng Jiaqi’s face to the side.

Meng Jiaqi turned his head, looking at Liu Fu in disbelief, only to hear the other say viciously:

“You wretch! You kept saying you truly loved me and didn’t seek any status. I didn’t expect you to be so malicious. You must have secretly taken the photos and posted them on the bulletin board to force me to divorce and be with you, right? I’m telling you, don’t even dream about it! I won’t want a malicious wretch like you! You’d better take the blame for this yourself!”
