Chapter 13: The Disfigured and Blind Sect Leader (13)

Just as he finished speaking, a servant who had just escaped rushed into the hall, shouting to Wen Renlan:

“Something terrible has happened! Sect Master! Wen Renming used some kind of sorcery and attacked many disciples of Qingliu Sect! They are all lying on the ground, unconscious, and some have even died!”

The servant, running frantically, finally noticed Wen Renming standing in the hall and let out a terrified scream before collapsing to the ground. He backed away, crying out:

“Sect Master, he’s not human! He’s a monster! A monster!”

Upon hearing this, Wen Renlan immediately turned to face Wen Renming, his eyes scanning him anxiously up and down. Then, through gritted teeth, he said:

“Is this true? What the hell have you done, you bastard! Someone, seize him and take him to the punishment chamber!”

Though hesitant, the disciples of Qingliu Sect could not disobey the Sect Master’s orders. Several of the braver ones stepped forward and restrained Wen Renming.

Seeing that he still appeared weak and powerless as before, they showed no mercy and dragged him away. Wen Renming offered no resistance as he was taken to the punishment chamber.

Ying Zhao anxiously followed them. For an entire month, he watched as Wen Renming was subjected to endless torture and whipping in the chamber.

He couldn’t understand why Wen Renming, who now possessed the power of the “Qingyuan Jue,” still did not resist and allowed himself to be tormented silently.

Wen Renming’s body was covered in wounds, with no intact skin, the sight of which made Ying Zhao feel like he was going insane with rage and sorrow.

Finally, after a month, Wen Renlan came to the dungeon. But instead of showing any concern for his son’s injuries, his first words were:

“I heard you haven’t spoken a word despite all the torture. Indeed, you should never have been born, you monster!”

For the first time, Wen Renming, who had remained silent, laughed. It started as a chuckle and turned into loud laughter. He turned his head to face Wen Renlan and said softly:

“I’ve been waiting for you. I wanted to know why you let my mother give birth to me. Why, after my birth, did you treat me so? For twenty years, you abandoned me. I ate food unfit for rats, wore tattered clothes, and lived in squalor. In Qingliu Sect, even the lowest servants dared to bully me. I don’t understand. I am your son. Why do you treat me this way?”

Wen Renlan turned to look directly at Wen Renming for the first time. But seeing his son’s bloodied appearance, Wen Renlan suddenly couldn’t meet his eyes.

He turned his head away, avoiding Wen Renming’s empty gaze, and said harshly:

“Because you should never have been born. You killed your mother at birth, and heavenly fire descended upon you as soon as you were born. Even the heavenly fire couldn’t kill you. You are a monster! You bring misfortune. I should have killed you long ago, but you carry my blood. If I killed you, I would bear the infamy of killing my own son. That’s the only reason I kept you alive. But now, you’ve proven to be a disaster. What sorcery did you use that day to kill so many of our disciples?”

Wen Renming smiled broadly at his words but remained silent. Wen Renlan, seeing this, frowned and said:

“I intended to spare your life, but since you are so wicked and stubborn, you leave me no choice but to be ruthless!”

With that, Wen Renlan gathered his energy and struck Wen Renming with full force. As the Sect Master of Qingliu Sect, Wen Renlan had some cultivation. If Wen Renming had been an ordinary person, this blow would have killed him instantly.

Ying Zhao did not expect Wen Renlan to be so cruel and instinctively shielded Wen Renming. However, the anticipated impact did not occur. Instead, Wen Renlan seemed to be struck by a force, suddenly thrown against the opposite wall.

Wen Renlan was lifted by an invisible force, as if strangled by an unseen hand. His eyes widened in terror as he looked at Wen Renming.

He struggled to grab at the invisible hands around his neck but grasped only air.

With a cracking sound, the chains binding Wen Renming shattered, and he fell to the ground. He wobbled as he stood up.

Turning to face Wen Renlan, he said with a smile:

“I’ve been waiting for you in this punishment chamber, but the words you spoke are what I waited to hear. As expected, you have no fatherly feelings for me. You wanted to know what sorcery I used? I’ll tell you. It’s the Wen family’s inherited ‘Qingyuan Jue.’”

Wen Renlan, hearing this, even while being strangled, showed a look of shock. Struggling to speak through his constricted throat, he said in disbelief:

“No, it’s impossible! That jade slip has been just an ornament for years! How could there be a ‘Qingyuan Jue’!”

Wen Renming gave a bitter smile.

“There is no ‘Qingyuan Jue.’ The jade slip contains the ‘Mieyuan Jue,’ a demonic cultivation method. The Wen family couldn’t decipher it because it never chose them. The only ones it would choose are those devoid of any warmth or light in their hearts.”

Ignoring Wen Renlan’s inner turmoil, Wen Renming staggered closer.

“Isn’t it ironic? The treasure you coveted all your life chose the person you despised the most. And all this is thanks to you!”

With each step, Wen Renming left a bloody footprint, looking ghastly. He continued:

“You say I have your blood, but I’d rather not have it. I’ve bled so much here that I consider it repayment. And the suffering I’ve endured over the years, I’ll reclaim from you!”

Wen Renlan, hearing this, desperately tried to shake his head. He wanted to beg for mercy but couldn’t utter a word. In the next moment, he understood Wen Renming’s intention clearly.

Because he felt his bones being forcibly twisted and his internal organs crushed.

Wen Renlan stared at Wen Renming, reaching out as if to grab his clothes. He opened his mouth, trying to scream, but only blood poured out.

Ying Zhao watched as Wen Renlan’s bones were crushed inch by inch by some unknown force. Finally, he collapsed to the ground like a pile of mud, dead with eyes wide open.

A tear of blood fell from Wen Renming’s eye as he stepped over Wen Renlan’s corpse, leaving the punishment chamber covered in blood.

The scene turned red as Wen Renming killed everyone in Qingliu Sect wherever he went.

He didn’t need to lift a finger. His solidified spiritual sense shattered their spiritual seas. The screams echoed before dying down.

Finally, Qingliu Sect was empty. Wen Renming slowly walked to the main hall and sat on the master’s seat. He sat there silently, like a lifeless puppet.

Ying Zhao had followed him all along, watching him suffer, never receiving even a shred of warmth. Though Wen Renming was silent, Ying Zhao understood the immense pain in his heart.

Despite his blood-soaked hands, Ying Zhao felt no fear. He only felt deep sorrow for Wen Renming. If they had given him even a little warmth, would he have been driven to such extremes?
