IDEI Ch19

Li Xin’er was laughing wildly inside, but seeing her roommate’s flushed face, she kindly changed the topic, “Why don’t you come down and watch with me? The computer screen is bigger, and it’s more comfortable to watch.”

Her roommate nodded a little shyly.

She climbed down from her bed, picked up her chair, and sat next to Li Xin’er. This only took a few seconds, and by the time she sat next to Li Xin’er, Mo Jinghai’s part hadn’t even finished yet.

The two exchanged smiles and focused on the screen. The screen was filled with a dense barrage of comments.

[So A!]

[There’s a kind of beauty that could **** the whole world.]

[Damn, isn’t this my long-lost husband?]

[This guy’s aura… so bed.]

[Alright, alright, am I weak-willed? Yes, I am! Wuwuwu, hubby, mommy, wifey, you’re so handsome.]

[A man’s chest is the best dowry!]

Both of them felt a little awkward at the comments, trying hard to ignore them. Just at that moment, the performance entered the chorus part.

On stage, the six people paired off in twos, starting to perform partner dances.

Feng Qingyi and Mo Jinghai were partnered, and their movements were incredibly in sync.

The blush under Feng Qingyi’s eyes made him look a bit fragile, but not soft, like a sharp blade coated with mist, full of an intense sense of aggression.

Mo Jinghai’s movements were broad and powerful, and his strong features and aura made him radiate tension.

In their dance, they sometimes moved so close that they could feel each other’s breath, and other times they pulled apart, but their gazes remained tightly locked.

Feng Qingyi and Mo Jinghai’s auras clashed, creating an overwhelming tension that swept over both the audience in front of the stage and those watching on screen. For a moment, neither could overpower the other, and instead, their auras bizarrely fused together.

The music of the dance break was more on the psychedelic side, and the three pairs on stage seemed to be either fighting… or flirting.

The roommate’s grip on Li Xin’er’s hand suddenly tightened, and a scream was stifled in her throat.

Meanwhile, the barrage of comments was already exploding with screams.

[Whoa whoa whoa whoa!]

[Your Star, selling like this, huh?! I can only say, sell more, it’s good!]

[Sell more, I love watching it!]

[Damn, the C-position in black is so A! Feels like he could make the one in white carry eight babies in one go.]

[This **** tension is making me blush.]

[I guess I’m finally feasting on royal food.]

[Don’t move, I’m bringing the bed up for you!]

[Your Star, I demand you let these two go big or go home!]

Li Xin’er and her roommate exchanged glances and once again spoke in unison.

“…Are you shipping this couple too?”

“Can’t they just do it for me to see…?”

Li Xin’er was at a loss after hearing this, looking at her usually calm roommate’s now completely red face, her feelings were complicated.

Weren’t you the one who didn’t care about the entertainment industry? Where’s all this lewd talk coming from?

As soon as Mo Jinghai and Feng Qingyi’s “Lost in Your Eyes” duet stage ended, they shot up the trending charts.

Marketing accounts all used the ending shot as the video cover. The ending of their stage was a duo shot of Mo Jinghai and Feng Qingyi standing face to face, both turning their heads toward the camera. Feng Qingyi was tall and slender, while Mo Jinghai was tall and muscular; standing opposite each other, they were visually stunning.

Because of the dancing, both of their shirts were soaked with sweat. Feng Qingyi was better off because his white shirt was loose, only partially clinging to his body, faintly revealing the skin underneath.

Mo Jinghai, however, was different. His black shirt was already fitted, and he was the kind of person who sweated easily due to his fast metabolism. At this moment, his shirt clung tightly to his body, making his chest look full, and his abs were faintly visible under the fabric, perfectly outlining his muscular physique.

There was a hint of shyness on his face, cleverly offsetting the excess masculine energy that could have come off as greasy and oppressive, instead presenting a youthful and refreshing sexual tension.

He scratched his head and smiled widely.

The image froze.

On Xingbo, the initial trending hashtag was fairly subtle.

#Your Star “Lost in Your Eyes” stage#

Before long, a strange tag was pushed to the top.

#Mo Jinghai Alpha#

Clicking into the tag, all the comments were fans screaming.

[Holy ****, where did this guy even come from?]

[So A!]

[It’s been a long time since I’ve seen an idol this full of tension. To be honest, a lot of idols recently have this weird sexual shrinkage going on.]

[Honestly, whether male or female, white, youthful, and skinny will never have sexual tension.]

[As expected, real handsome guys need to have buzz cuts!]

Some people were even discussing the partner dance on this stage.

[Your Star’s show production team’s intentions are obvious, hahaha.]

[Damn it, even though I know this is just Your Star‘s trick to gain traffic, I still fell for it!]

[All three pairs have such strong CP vibes. Your Star’s production team deserves to worship at the Temple of Heaven—no, the Temple of the Matchmaker!]

[It was a clumsy attempt to sell, but since the CP has already been formed, I’ll let it slide this time. Next time, keep it up!]

[Hahaha, already a CP? Feng Qingyi and Mo Jinghai already have a ship name?]

“There’s more to it! These two just keep getting more and more connected—the same hometown, joined the same company, and have the closest relationship… What a genius childhood friends CP!”

The fanbase for Your Star’s trainees was growing rapidly, and numerous CP-related fan clubs were springing up like mushrooms after the rain.

The entire Your Star fan community was flourishing, presenting a scene of prosperity and brightness.

That night, Your Star dominated almost the entire entertainment ranking on Xingbo. After all, nearly every performance in Your Star‘s second public competition was worthy of being immortalized.

Top-notch talent, makeup, costumes, along with excellent props and lighting, together created these incredible stages.

Meanwhile, over at Ou Jin, the situation was the complete opposite. The show that aired on the same night was met with universal mockery.

This episode of Ou Jin featured their third public competition stage. When Qi Yanning left, the second public competition had already been recorded, but for some reason, the Ou Jin production team took a two-week break instead of progressing the process. They filled the time with group variety shows and training montages to stall.

It wasn’t until the fans reached the peak of their dissatisfaction that they finally got back on track, announcing the start of the third public competition.

This is why, even though Ou Jin began recording much earlier than Your Star, Your Star was already on its second public competition, while Ou Jin was only getting to its third.

However, the third public competition stage for Ou Jin wasn’t bad enough to draw complete hatred from the internet.

Most of Ou Jin‘s contestants didn’t have particularly strong abilities, nor did they have standout stage presence. However, they could at least adequately complete a stage. Coupled with suitable makeup and costumes, they managed to get by.

As a result, Ou Jin’s show still maintained a fair amount of popularity.

The backlash this time was essentially the result of Ou Jin’s prolonged fanbase manipulation backfiring.

For some reason, Luo Heng’s group had a glaring mistake during their third public competition stage. The footage for their performance was heavily edited to try and cover up dance errors made by one of the members, and the vocals were so heavily processed that they sounded electronic.

Yet Luo Heng’s group had three top-tier contestants in terms of popularity, and their fans didn’t seem to find anything wrong with the stage—or perhaps they knew something was wrong but were swept up in fanbase manipulation. They took the video of the stage and spread it across every trending topic related to Your Star‘s show.

Not only did they promote it, but they also tried to drag Your Star down. Under the vocal team’s performance video from Your Star, Luo Heng’s fans pinned this comment at the top:

@HengIsLight: “This song is nice, but the vocal level is mediocre. Why not come listen to our flawless Luo Heng Xianjun sing instead~ “

And under Your Star‘s dance team video, there was a similar comment:

@HengGeIsMine: “The dance is too soft. Come watch our dance king Luo Heng crush it on stage!”

This kind of comparison enraged Your Star’s trainee fans, but they lacked an organized response, and were no match for the Luo Heng fans who were led by influencers. They couldn’t even win the arguments.

It wasn’t until Luo Heng and a few other popular Ou Jin contestants left comments under the “Lost in Your Eyes” stage that the situation truly escalated.

A casual fan clicked into their video, watched it, and left disappointed. The only comment they made was, “Not all that.” Immediately, they were attacked by Luo Heng’s fans.

This passerby happened to be the stubborn type. They downloaded the video, picked it apart frame by frame, and eventually posted a half-hour-long critique on the trending square.

In terms of singing, there was pre-recorded backing vocals, missed notes, and avoiding high notes… For the dancing, sloppy movements, softness, lack of coordination…

Luo Heng’s group’s stage was basically a disaster.

As a result, the video quickly racked up likes, comments, and shares. Not only Your Star’s trainee fans but also random passersby who were fed up with the arrogance of Luo Heng’s fanbase joined in the revelry.

Previously, Ou Jin fans had often ridiculed Your Star’s makeup, calling it a gathering of ugly people.

But now that Your Star’s makeup had vastly improved, the ridicule was aimed at Ou Jin for being all looks and no substance.

This wave of backlash pushed the hashtag #OuJinTalentless# to the top of the trending list, generating intense discussion that lasted deep into the night, only dying down after Ou Jin’s staff intervened with PR.

However, after this incident, Your Star‘s stages were introduced to a wider audience, while the “talentless” label stuck firmly to Luo Heng and even the entire Ou Jin crew.

The online uproar lasted throughout the night, finally subsiding when the sun rose.

Of course, none of this had anything to do with Qi Yanning. He had already returned to the dormitory and was deep in sleep.

The next day, when he woke up, he saw a message from Ling Cangzhou.

[Red-Eared Puppy]: Are you interested in A City’s Fashion Week?

Qi Yanning picked up his phone and casually replied.

[yanN]: When?

He didn’t expect a quick reply from Ling Cangzhou, given that the message had come in last night.

But…

Just as Qi Yanning was about to put his phone down, Ling Cangzhou responded.

[Red-Eared Puppy]: At the end of next month. Chenxing Entertainment has front-row tickets for all the shows. Do you want to go… with me?

[Red-Eared Puppy]: Samoyed excited.jpg

Qi Yanning raised an eyebrow.

He did some quick calculations. By the end of next month, *Your Star*’s work should be wrapped up, so he’d have time.

[yanN]: Sure.

[Red-Eared Puppy]: Great~!

[Red-Eared Puppy]: Puppy spinning in circles.jpg

Qi Yanning looked at the screen full of puppy emojis, feeling that it looked a lot like Ling Cangzhou.

Hmm, next time they meet, maybe he should try putting dog ears on him.

Qi Yanning thought absentmindedly.
