“What’s that smell in the classroom? Open the windows and let’s get some fresh air.”

“Come on, open the back windows too.”

“A little cold will wake you up, so you don’t doze off in class.”

The morning reading class had just begun when the language teacher walked in and asked for the windows to be opened. The students below wailed about the cold, but the biting wind still poured in.

Xie Yuanxing’s face was icy cold from the wind, but the rest of his body was warm.

He was wearing a light blue down jacket and a slightly darker Klein blue scarf around his neck. Among the crowd, most of whom were wearing black or white, he was incredibly eye-catching.

Shen Bianye sat behind him, his gaze falling on the tightly wrapped scarf, his expression a little strange for a moment.

In class, Xie Yuanxing would reach out from time to time to tug at his scarf. Shen Bianye, sitting behind him, saw every move clearly and couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, his expression changing from strange to playful.

Shen Bianye didn’t plan to say anything to Xie Yuanxing. After class, he naturally looked up at the class schedule written on the side of the blackboard, and his gaze met Xie Yuanxing’s, who was secretly glancing back at him with his peripheral vision.

The latter’s round eyes widened instantly, like a cat’s pupils dilating in surprise. With a swoosh, he turned his head back.

The next second, Xie Yuanxing turned around again, facing Shen Bianye, his chin slightly raised, as if giving a command, and said in a bossy tone, “You’re not allowed to stare at me.”

Shen Bianye looked at him. “I’m looking at the class schedule, is that not allowed either?”

“Are you the class schedule?”

Xie Yuanxing was at a loss for words, but his eyes were suspicious, and he clearly didn’t believe it. He emphasized, seemingly out of nowhere, “I’m wearing a scarf today.”

Shen Bianye: “And then?”

Xie Yuanxing: “And then you can’t look at the back of my neck.”

Shen Bianye said, “I don’t want to look.”

He smiled faintly, nonchalantly, with a hint of a sneer. “What I want to look at is the back of my little boyfriend’s neck. His name is Ruan Xing, not Xie Yuanxing.”

“You’re being a little self-important.”

He was not being self-important!!!

Xie Yuanxing was furious. He stared at Shen Bianye for a long time, unable to utter a single word.

What should he say?

If he said anything, wouldn’t it be an admission that he was Ruan Xing?

It was something they both knew, but he just couldn’t admit it! Once he admitted it, he would be the one at a disadvantage, the one to lose out.

Xie Yuanxing looked at Shen Bianye’s handsome, chiseled face. He felt that his nose wasn’t a nose, and his eyes weren’t eyes. Everything about him was an eyesore.

A moment later, he let out a heavy snort, turned around, grabbed the sides of his down jacket’s hood, and pulled it on with a swoosh.

From behind, Shen Bianye’s voice came faintly, “You even put on your hood?”

“Actually, it’s not necessary. You’re not Ruan Xing. My eyes won’t be glued to it all the time.”

The next second, the little penguin, wearing a hood and wrapped in a scarf, moved his stool forward with a wiggle.

Shen Bianye, behind him, was amused by Xie Yuanxing’s actions. He thought Xie Yuanxing was cute.

But…

Tsk, it would be even better if this cuteness wasn’t expressed in the form of being on guard against him like a thief.

He had thought that Xie Yuanxing would never see that message, but as it turned out, Xie Yuanxing had seen it.

It was such a coincidence, like a joke played by God.

Shen Bianye sighed inwardly, looked at the person in front of him whose back even exuded a hint of stubbornness, and thought about who he should switch seats with this time.

He knew he had scared him.

It was better to be a little farther away.

Farther, and farther, until Xie Yuanxing was no longer afraid of him because of it.

The morning classes were only half over when Xie Yuanxing discovered that the person behind him had changed. When he asked, he found out that Shen Bianye had asked for that person’s opinion, then went to the head teacher to talk about changing seats, and the two of them had switched places.

Shen Bianye was now sitting in the far-left row, separated from Xie Yuanxing by the entire classroom.

Xie Yuanxing slowly took off his hood and scarf, and for some reason, he glanced over in that direction. Shen Bianye was looking out the window, his expression blank, his eyes indifferent. His profile, for some reason, looked a little lonely.

…What’s going on?

This made it seem like his actions had forced Shen Bianye away.

He wore the scarf not because he was scared by Shen Bianye’s words, but purely to be deliberately mischievous.

Xie Yuanxing felt a little uneasy in his heart. It was strange. It wasn’t self-blame, nor was it guilt, but in short, it was just uncomfortable.

Especially now, seeing Shen Bianye’s lonely expression, Xie Yuanxing couldn’t help but start to reflect on whether he had gone too far.

He thought for two or three minutes.

Forget it, if he went too far, he went too far. Apologizing was out of the question.

Xie Yuanxing wrinkled his nose, then shook his head, as if to shake off those messy thoughts. He then propped his chin on his hand, lowered his head, and started to do his language homework.

The amount of homework in the third year of high school was enough to make a person numb. If you didn’t want to leave it all to the end and rush like crazy, you could only use the breaks between classes.

Language and English, Language and English, time passed in the blink of an eye between the two subjects.

A small change in seating arrangement didn’t cause a big stir in the class, and it seemed that no one was affected by it.

Xie Yuanxing, as usual, dozed off during the listening comprehension part of the English morning reading. These past few days, he had always felt that his energy was much worse than before.

He couldn’t find the reason. He could only attribute it to not getting enough sleep. But last night, he had gone to bed half an hour earlier than usual, and today he still felt very tired.

He only managed to last for half a minute in the listening comprehension with the male and female voices at the beginning before his head nodded and he fell asleep on his desk.

For the rest of the day, Xie Yuanxing had no energy. He was listless in class, either propping his chin on his hand or cupping his face. He even folded his hands on the desk to use as a cushion for his chin, directly resting his head on the desk to look at the blackboard.

After being criticized twice, Xie Yuanxing was also listless. He managed to sit up, but his lack of energy was visible to the naked eye.

Shen Bianye hadn’t intended to interfere. When the evening self-study session ended, as he passed by Xie Yuanxing’s row, he saw Xie Yuanxing packing up his things listlessly, and his footsteps paused.

He walked over, his large hand resting on Xie Yuanxing’s forehead. It was cool, not hot.

Shen Bianye frowned. “Is there anything wrong with you?”

Xie Yuanxing’s head was dizzy. He subconsciously followed his retracting hand with his forehead, and after pressing against it, he shook his head. “No.”

Shen Bianye’s expression changed slightly, his eyes darkened, and his gaze on Xie Yuanxing carried a hint of danger. “What are you doing?”

Xie…

He had just said one word when he paused, slowly stood up straight, and turned his head dizzily. “Oh right, what am I doing?”

It was so magical. Shen Bianye’s hand was like it had magic.

The moment he touched him, he felt like he had come back to life.

Xie Yuanxing blinked his eyes, puzzled and strange. With an exploratory heart, he said very naturally, “Touch me again.”

Shen Bianye’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He reached out and touched him.

Xie Yuanxing: ……

He tried his best to speak calmly, “I told you to touch my forehead. Where are you touching?”

The pad of Shen Bianye’s finger was resting on Xie Yuanxing’s lips, pressing lightly and intimately. As Xie Yuanxing spoke, the tip of his finger even sank in a little, becoming faintly moist.

Shen Bianye withdrew his hand, his expression extremely natural, as if he had just casually touched him. “You just said to touch you, you didn’t say where.”

“I thought you were speaking with your mouth, so of course it’s touching your mouth.”

Xie Yuanxing was so angry he wanted to bite someone. He said angrily, “Besides this mouth, can I speak with any other part of my body?!”

His tone rose slightly, and his energetic appearance showed no sign of the listlessness he had just a moment ago.

As he was protesting, the tall, cold man in front of him suddenly smiled.

Shen Bianye tsked and managed to suppress the smile he couldn’t control, but there was still a hint of amusement in his eyes.

Xie Yuanxing secretly clenched his fists, suppressed the rising anger, and asked calmly, “…What are you smiling at?”

Shen Bianye: “Sorry, I thought of an analogy.”

Xie Yuanxing: “What analogy?”

Shen Bianye: “It’s better if you don’t know.”

Xie Yuanxing looked at him suspiciously and said stubbornly, “No, I want to hear it.”

Shen Bianye suppressed his smile and changed the subject abruptly. “Let’s go back to the previous question. What’s wrong with you today? No energy?”

Hearing this, Xie Yuanxing also became listless. He frowned, his expression puzzled. “I seem to be getting more and more lethargic. I started to feel a little listless a few days ago.”

Shen Bianye’s expression became serious. He asked, “Do you remember when it started? Have you been feeling unwell anywhere recently?”

Xie Yuanxing recalled for a moment and said hesitantly, “I think it was… from the day you changed your seat.”

“I don’t feel unwell, I just have no energy.”

Shen Bianye thought for a moment and suddenly said, “Are you about to differentiate?”

Everyone’s second differentiation is said to be at eighteen, but this is not really as punctual as on their eighteenth birthday. This time is generally around eighteen, and it is possible to be a little earlier or a little later.

Xie Yuanxing frowned. “Then why did I feel energized as soon as I touched you?”

Shen Bianye had differentiated a long time ago and knew more about differentiation than Xie Yuanxing. He thought of a possibility. He wasn’t 100% sure, but the possibility was very high.

“It’s possible that our compatibility is very high. You’ve been listless these past few days, maybe because we’ve been too far apart.”

“But I’m not completely sure, so it’s best to see a doctor.”

“Let’s take a leave of absence tomorrow. I’ll take you to the hospital.”

“Forget it, let’s go to the hospital now and go to the emergency room.”

Xie Yuanxing shook his head. “Let’s go on the weekend. It’s too late now, and we can’t delay our classes.”

The last time he went for a tetanus shot, it was during his lunch break. He went and came back. This time, if he went to the hospital, there would be a bunch of tests, and he didn’t know how long it would take.

Shen Bianye didn’t agree. Xie Yuanxing’s health was much more important than a few classes, but what he said was another expression: “Okay, let’s go on the weekend.”

“Then these next few days, you’ll have no energy in class. It’s a waste of time to just sit in the classroom. I understand.”

Xie Yuanxing: “……”

Xie Yuanxing pouted, thought for a moment, then looked up at Shen Bianye. His eyes were dark and moist, and the tear mole under his eye seemed to flicker under the light. “If you touch me, I seem to have a lot more energy.”

“Can you help me for these few days?”

Shen Bianye stared at him intently, his Adam’s apple bobbing. His eyes didn’t waver, and they were only filled with Xie Yuanxing. His words were full of difficult struggle. “Let’s go to the hospital first. Your health is more important.”

Xie Yuanxing shook his head. “I feel so much better after you touch me a couple of times. I don’t need to take leave and miss class.”

“Can’t you just help me?”

Shen Bianye: “Let’s go to the hospital first. After we go to the hospital for a check-up, I’ll help you.”

“It’s time to go. There’s no one left in the teaching building.”

Xie Yuanxing and Shen Bianye walked out of the classroom one after the other. Shen Bianye, walking behind, reached out and turned off the lights. The moment the lights went out, the smile that appeared on his face as he stared at Xie Yuanxing’s back seemed like some kind of excited and dangerous omen in the darkness.

Xie Yuanxing hadn’t given up yet. He turned his head, wanting to argue with Shen Bianye again, and just happened to see that scene.

He was still worrying about his own affairs and hadn’t yet noticed the danger. “What are you smiling at again?!”

“Are you happy to see me in trouble?”

Shen Bianye tsked. “Nothing, I just thought of another analogy.”

Xie Yuanxing stopped in his tracks and stood in front of Shen Bianye, looking fierce. “What kind of analogy is so funny? Tell me.”

“If you don’t tell me, I won’t go to the hospital.”

Shen Bianye raised an eyebrow. “You really want to know?”

Xie Yuanxing nodded emphatically. Neither of them noticed how strange it was that Xie Yuanxing was threatening Shen Bianye with his own physical examination. They were both very natural.

Shen Bianye chuckled lightly. “I thought there would be no possibility between us for a while.”

“But you haven’t differentiated yet, and the fact that you’re already dependent on my pheromones means:”

Xie Yuanxing didn’t even have scent glands. Naturally, it was impossible for him to be affected by pheromones. So there was only one explanation. “You like me too, baby.”

Xie Yuanxing’s eyes widened, and the tips of his ears became warm. “Stop being so narcissistic!!”

“And what does this have to do with an analogy?”

The smile on Shen Bianye’s face grew wider, and his tone carried a strange excitement. “How should I put it? This feeling is like, when we’re in bed, you’re kicking your legs and resisting. I thought you didn’t like it and was about to pull back, but then I realized it was because you were afraid you would get too turned on.”

Xie Yuanxing blinked, and blinked again, and then blinked again. It took him three times to react to what Shen Bianye had said.

In the middle of winter, he was so embarrassed that he felt like he was about to cook. His voice rose so high that it even turned on the voice-activated lights in the distance. “What kind of stupid analogy is that!! You’re not allowed to study language!!!”
