GBROTAH CH7

Xie Yuanxing had called Shen Bianye “sick” three times, but now, sitting in the classroom and looking at what was in front of him, his mind was a bit blank. No one had told him before that Shen Bianye was actually sick.

The medical record and the contract in front of him, either one was enough to silence Xie Yuanxing. The medical record was old, with a deep crease, stating Shen Bianye as the patient, aged 15. The symptoms were briefly summarized: loss of control during susceptible periods, strong aggression, accompanied by pain, and ineffective inhibitors. The diagnosis was “pheromone disorder syndrome.”

Normal people differentiate into secondary genders at eighteen, so it was a miracle that he differentiated into an Alpha at fifteen. However, the cold information on the paper—pheromone disorder syndrome—made this miracle seem ridiculous.

Shen Bianye tapped the table with his knuckles, impatiently saying, “Agree or not, speak up.” If one were to discern his expression carefully, they would notice a hint of discomfort and nervousness, but Xie Yuanxing clearly didn’t, still keeping his head down.

Shen Bianye: “Mute?”

“Or do you think the price is too low?” He scoffed, speaking bluntly: “Know when to quit, Xie Yuanxing. Don’t push your luck.”

Xie Yuanxing touched the amount on the contract, reluctantly withdrew his hand, and said, “I can.”

“But let’s go to the hospital for a check-up first. I’ll sign after confirming it’s effective.” Otherwise, he wouldn’t feel at ease taking this money.

Shen Bianye watched his actions, frowned, and a hint of disdain appeared in his eyes. “No need.”

“I’ve already confirmed it at the hospital. Although you don’t have a gland and can’t perform a true mark, you can deceive the pheromones and make my susceptible periods a bit easier to bear.”

“My pheromones are unstable, and my susceptible periods are frequent. You’d best be mentally prepared.”

Xie Yuanxing was originally wondering if a one-sided check-up was enough, or if he needed to be brought along for a thorough examination, a blood draw to find the cause or something? Was it too perfunctory for it to be this simple?

Hearing Shen Bianye’s last sentence, his thoughts wandered again, and his hand covered the back of his neck. The wound left by the bite there had already begun to scab. If he signed this contract, the scabbed and healed wound would open again. It would hurt.

But it didn’t matter. Compared to five million, what was a little injury? Making money had never been easy.

He picked up the pen and signed his name on the contract. After signing, he capped the pen, and it made a soft click as it closed. Xie Yuanxing gripped the pen tightly in his palm, then looked up at Shen Bianye and calmly asked, “Do you want to bite now?”

As he spoke, he slightly turned his body, lowered his head a little, and with his other hand, swept away the stray hairs from the back of his neck, presenting his vulnerable neck to Shen Bianye like a sacrifice.

Shen Bianye stared blankly at that patch of skin. Two flesh-colored band-aids were stuck there, making the surrounding skin appear even whiter, a paleness that lacked blood, like a pale snow. His Adam’s apple unconsciously bobbed. His gaze didn’t shift, but a cold snort escaped first, “Heh, who wants to bite a Beta anytime, anywhere?”

“The contract states clearly that you only need to cooperate with my treatment.”

“When my pheromones become unstable, I’ll naturally find you.”

Xie Yuanxing lowered his hand and nodded, his reaction flat: “Oh.” He was a normal person; of course, he wouldn’t be unhappy if he didn’t have to be bitten. Since Shen Bianye said no need, he began to pack his belongings on the table.

Shen Bianye frowned: “I say one word about the contract and you’re going to get angry, throw a tantrum, and leave?”

“You need to understand…”

“No,” Xie Yuanxing interrupted him, “I’m going to the cafeteria for lunch. It’s already noon, everyone in the classroom has left. Aren’t you hungry?”

Shen Bianye had approached him after class, dragging the conversation until everyone had left. It was already two o’clock, and Xie Yuanxing was so hungry he could barely speak. As for why Shen Bianye knew he was taking class there, he was too lazy to ask.

Xie Yuanxing stood up, his backpack on. His black clothes and black backpack, and the pale wrist he showed when waving goodbye to Shen Bianye. “I’m leaving first. Just call me if you need anything.”

Just as he was about to leave, he paused, as if remembering something. “Do you want to take down my phone number?”

Shen Bianye frowned unhappily but still took out his phone. “Say it.”

…Xie Yuanxing glanced sideways at the person walking beside him, pursed his lips, “You…”

Shen Bianye was looking down at his phone. Hearing the sound, he turned his head and glanced at Xie Yuanxing, his eyes flashing slightly, and said coldly, “My pheromone state has been unstable lately. I’m following you so I don’t have trouble finding you.” He then coughed, “And I’ll go to the cafeteria for a meal anyway, and we can just go back to the dorm together.”

Xie Yuanxing grunted a muffled “oh,” lowering his head, feeling a bit reluctant to return to the dorm after eating. His steps toward the cafeteria also slowed down a bit.

They finally reached the cafeteria, moving slowly. Shen Bianye looked at the food in Xie Yuanxing’s bowl with disdain. “Is this all you eat? So little.”

Xie Yuanxing: “Mm, it’s cheap.”

Shen Bianye paused at his words, his gaze falling involuntarily on Xie Yuanxing. The other boy was eating with his head down, his expression quiet. The stray hairs on his forehead slightly obscured his eyes, and upon closer inspection, one could see the edges were somewhat yellowish. He had previously thought Xie Yuanxing’s sullen personality meant he also dabbled in fashionable hair dyeing, but now, he suddenly realized: Isn’t this goddamn malnutrition? And that pale complexion, those light-colored lips—this was indeed malnutrition.

Shen Bianye was shocked. He hadn’t expected that in this day and age, someone would still suffer from malnutrition. His gaze towards Xie Yuanxing became tinged with pity. “What about your parents? What do they do?” To raise a child like this, wasn’t it a sin?

Xie Yuanxing’s hand tightened on his chopsticks. He didn’t look up, his voice calm: “They’re both dead.”

Shen Bianye’s heart sank, regretting asking that question. After a moment of silence, he rarely spoke softly: “Then you now…”

“I’m staying with my aunt and uncle. I have a cousin, and our relationship is so-so,” Xie Yuanxing stared at the food in front of him, took a deep breath, and looked up. “Is the census over? Is there anything else you want to ask?”

“My family matters won’t affect my contract with you, don’t worry.” The implication was, don’t meddle.

Shen Bianye naturally understood, his expression chilled, and he said nothing more. It was past mealtime, and the cafeteria was quiet. The atmosphere between the two of them was even more silent. Xie Yuanxing had lost his appetite but still slowly finished everything in his bowl. He had paid for it; he couldn’t bear to waste it.

His chopsticks clinked lightly against the tray. Xie Yuanxing lowered his head and said softly, “Sorry, my tone was bad to you just now.” He was always dull, silent, and when problems arose, he always apologized first, like a damp mushroom in a corner that anyone could kick, pushing him deeper into the dirt.

A scoff echoed in the quiet cafeteria. Shen Bianye picked up his phone, found Xie Yuanxing’s payment app account using his phone number, and transferred six hundred thousand without blinking.

Shen Bianye: “The down payment in the contract is five hundred thousand. The extra hundred thousand is for your living expenses.” His face was grim, his handsome features devoid of expression. “And you can rest assured, I’m not interested in your family matters.”

“It’s not that I want to give you this money. It’s just that you’re too thin. It’s uncomfortable to hold you when I bite you.”

“My cats and dogs each get a hundred thousand for food every month, just so they eat well and feel good to hold,” Shen Bianye’s gaze swept over Xie Yuanxing, his tone light and mocking, “You, well, you’re pretty much like my cats and dogs.”

He humiliated Xie Yuanxing with those hundred thousand yuan, expecting to see the other’s angry, restrained expression. However, Xie Yuanxing first paused, then his eyes lit up as he stared at his phone. Xie Yuanxing held his phone, smiling a little dizzily. Rarely, he showed Shen Bianye a bright smile, “Thank you, you’re really a good person.”

Shen Bianye felt a subtle sense of being outmaneuvered and couldn’t help but say, “I’m not doing it for your health.”

“It’s like raising cats and dogs, do you understand?”

Xie Yuanxing counted the string of zeros after the six, nodding absentmindedly, “Mm-hmm, I know, I know.”

Shen Bianye clicked his tongue irritably, resisting the urge to flick Xie Yuanxing’s forehead. “Let’s go, back to the dorm. Now that you’ve got the money, you should get to work.”

Xie Yuanxing meekly followed behind him, asking as he walked, “Are your pheromones bothering you?”

Shen Bianye touched the tip of his nose, vaguely humming in affirmation.

Xie Yuanxing quickened his steps behind him, thought for a moment, then stopped and pulled on Shen Bianye.

Shen Bianye’s body subtly stiffened. He turned his head to look at Xie Yuanxing, saying in a deep voice, “What?”

“Actually, you can just bite directly. No need to go back to the dorm…” Xie Yuanxing’s voice grew softer and softer under Shen Bianye’s gaze, keenly realizing that the other person was displeased.

Shen Bianye’s initial tension from being pulled eased, immediately replaced by annoyance. “Why are you so shameless?” In broad daylight, one person biting another’s neck—how was that any different from having sex in plain sight?!

Seeing Xie Yuanxing blink blankly, Shen Bianye found himself unable to articulate such blunt words for a moment. Instead, he said coldly, “Do you want everyone in school to see me bite you?” He scoffed, sounding somewhat triumphant: “Want to latch onto me?”

“I’m warning you, if anyone finds out I’m involved in that kind of relationship with a Beta, you’re dead.”

Xie Yuanxing understood. After all, someone like Shen Bianye, under normal circumstances, wouldn’t be caught dead associating with him. Being involved with him would always be embarrassing. He nodded seriously, promising, “I’ll keep it a secret.”

For some reason, Shen Bianye felt a blockage in his chest. Back in the dorm, watching Xie Yuanxing slowly close the door, his frown deepened. Once Xie Yuanxing had closed the door, Shen Bianye grabbed him, pushed him down with a backward hand, forcing Xie Yuanxing to lie prone on the table.

Xie Yuanxing’s slender waist dipped, and the black hem of his clothes got caught between his waist and the table, rolling up a bit, revealing a hint of his fair waistline.

Shen Bianye patted the shapely buttocks in front of him, his voice a little hoarse, “Lie still.”

Xie Yuanxing’s ears, hidden by his dark hair, turned red. He seemed to be gritting his teeth faintly: “If you’re going to bite my neck, then bite it. Can’t you… change your position?”

Shen Bianye playfully patted again, then clicked his tongue, “No. Hurry up, lift your hair in the back yourself.” Xie Yuanxing dodged his hand, and while brushing up his stray hair, he said in a stiff voice, “Stop patting… the contract didn’t say you could touch anywhere other than my neck, if you keep doing this…”

He wanted to say he wouldn’t do it anymore, but he really needed that money. He wanted to say he needed more money, but he wasn’t that shameless, so he gritted his teeth and used Shen Bianye’s method to retaliate. “Are you trying to take advantage of me? Take advantage of a Beta?” This was the first time Xie Yuanxing had said something so narcissistic, his voice small and trembling, but loud enough for the person behind him to hear.

Shen Bianye’s body stiffened, his face darkened as he withdrew his hand, his gaze intensely fixed on the person half-prone on the table. A moment later, he spoke maliciously, as if to vent his anger, hanging a sword over the already nervous Xie Yuanxing’s head, beginning his warning: “Lie still, I’m going to bite now.”

His long fingers traced lightly and slowly over the skin on the back of Xie Yuanxing’s neck, feeling satisfied as the person beneath him grew increasingly tense under his hand. Shen Bianye leaned in close, his breath hot as he spoke, “This time, I’ll bite here, alright?”

Xie Yuanxing subconsciously closed his eyes, his dark eyelashes trembling uneasily, waiting for the pain that would fall at an unknown moment.
