GBROTAH CH15
Xie Yuanxing was eating, the bento box in front of him was exquisite, with a balanced mix of meat and vegetables, and even a few slices of salmon sashimi.
He hadn’t eaten anything like this since he lost his home.
The taste in his memory had long faded, but he imagined the quality of this portion must be much better than what he used to eat.
The salmon in his mouth was rich and sweet, but Xie Yuanxing’s mood suddenly darkened, and he let out a soft sigh.
The person beside him spoke almost the second he sighed, “What are you sighing about? What are you thinking of?” He paused, then asked casually, “Still not good?”
Xie Yuanxing was surprised by his keenness. He shook his head, not telling the truth: “With you looking at me like that, I can barely eat.”
Which was also the truth. After all, ever since he started eating, Shen Bianye had been staring at him, hardly taking his eyes off him.
Does my gaze make you nervous?
Inopportunely, Shen Bianye thought of this phrase. He lowered his eyes, hiding the obscure emotions within, and said blandly, “You eat. I won’t look at you.”
Xie Yuanxing eyed him suspiciously, asking hesitantly, “You… aren’t mad again, are you?”
Shen Bianye: …… He gnashed his teeth and said, “No, eat your food.” He wasn’t a powder keg, with nothing else to do all day but get angry.
Shen Bianye was already too lazy to consider what image he held in Xie Yuanxing’s mind, but since that was the case…
After Xie Yuanxing finished eating, he pointed at Xie Yuanxing’s phone on the table and said, “What’s wrong with your cousin anyway?” Then, before Xie Yuanxing could speak, he righteously declared, “Saying there’s no difference between me and him?”
“When you were calling me a dumbass, why didn’t you mention that?” Shen Bianye tutted, a hint of ruthlessness in his brows, mixed with a touch of exasperation. “Where was your ferocity then? Use it to curse him!”
Xie Yuanxing: ……
Seeing his silence, Shen Bianye raised an eyebrow and snorted, “Or are you only tough at home?”
Xie Yuanxing: “…I’m not in your ‘home.'”
Shen Bianye said without thinking, “You want me to sleep with you tonight?”
Xie Yuanxing: “…My point is, you and I are outsiders to each other.”
These two spoke words that made the other speechless, but ultimately, Xie Yuanxing’s words were more damaging, successfully silencing Shen Bianye. He was so choked up he couldn’t speak, looking at Xie Yuanxing with a mixture of annoyance and complexity.
Before he could figure out how to navigate past this and get the information he wanted, Xie Yuanxing had already packed up and stood.
Shen Bianye frowned, “Where are you going?”
Xie Yuanxing: “The library.”
Shen Bianye immediately said, “You used to take a nap, didn’t you? What are you doing at the library in the middle of the day?”
Xie Yuanxing seemed a little dispirited at his words, an invisible mushroom cap drooping. “I can’t keep up with the new content in Linear Algebra recently. Fang Zhi said he could teach me.”
As he spoke, a knock came at the dorm room door. It was still daytime, and the dorm door wasn’t locked. The person knocked and then pushed it open a crack. Fang Zhi stood at the doorway, peeking in slightly, his voice sounding very gentle, “Xiaoyuan, are you ready?”
“Let’s go.”
Shen Bianye recognized him as a Beta at a glance, which slightly reduced his irritation, but only slightly. He stood up and said to Fang Zhi with a forced smile, “Wait at the door for a moment.”
Fang Zhi froze, nodded, and then the door abruptly closed in front of him.
Xie Yuanxing furrowed his brow, “What’s wrong?”
Before his words landed, he smelled a surge of pheromones, carrying the lingering embers of a burning fire, so strong that he couldn’t help but cough twice. His pale face flushed from the coughing, and Xie Yuanxing murmured in bewilderment, “Your pheromone disorder, cough cough, it’s always too sudden.”
Shen Bianye hummed a deep agreement, walked behind Xie Yuanxing, removed his bothersome backpack, stared at Xie Yuanxing’s waist for two seconds, and his hand finally rested on Xie Yuanxing’s shoulder. He buried his face in Xie Yuanxing’s neck, hesitated for a while, and didn’t bite.
Xie Yuanxing tilted his head in confusion, but his posture was restricted, so he couldn’t see Shen Bianye’s face. He could only ask, “What’s wrong?”
The person behind him said nothing. A moment later, a rough fingertip, calloused, rested on the back of his neck, lightly caressing it, again and again. It was a little itchy, and a little subtly sore. The feeling of having his neck pinched was like having his lifeblood seized, not to mention the unsettling silence of the person behind him. Xie Yuanxing’s voice instinctively softened, “Shen Bianye?”
Shen Bianye hummed in response, his voice hoarse and low, with a magnetic quality, like the prelude to some intimate affair, adding an inexplicable allure. He rubbed the scar on the back of Xie Yuanxing’s neck and whispered, “It’s scabbed over. Does it hurt?”
Xie Yuanxing sighed in relief, shaking his head, “How could it hurt when it’s scabbed over?”
Shen Bianye: “But if I bite down, it’ll open.”
Xie Yuanxing was surprised for a moment, a little puzzled why the young master was suddenly so considerate today, but he still said, “It’s okay, you paid.” Many people in this world suffer many injuries for meager wages, but he only needed to be bitten occasionally to get five million. This slight pain was nothing compared to five million. Xie Yuanxing wasn’t being pretentious or coy; he even urged, “Stop touching it. Just bite.” He shifted, feeling a little uncomfortable. “You’re touching me in a strange way.”
Shen Bianye lowered his gaze, his obscure eyes fixed on that somewhat pitiful, pale, scarred nape, thinking, This is just the beginning. If just a light touch on his neck felt strange, so sensitive, then what would it be like later?
Admitting that Xie Yuanxing disliked him seemed to make acknowledging Xie Yuanxing’s attraction to him simpler. Perhaps due to the pheromone disorder, what Shen Bianye wanted to do was far more than simply leaving a fake mark on Xie Yuanxing’s neck. He suppressed those dark, obscure, intimate thoughts again and again, worried that even a hint would make Xie Yuanxing dislike him more. Dislike him so much that he wouldn’t even let him bite, which would be a huge loss.
But now, Shen Bianye was a little unwilling to hold back. Anyway, even if he spoke nicely, Xie Yuanxing still disliked him, so why not be more overbearing? Besides, the contract was signed, Xie Yuanxing couldn’t run.
Just like now, what he wanted to touch was far more than just here, far more than just the back of his neck. The body under that black jacket had been imagined dozens of times in his mind. Pale, slender, a body that would become enchanting and alluring after being covered in countless pink hickeys. He wanted to trace his hand down from the back of the neck, peel off that jacket, and see if reality matched his imagination.
Shen Bianye’s eyes darkened further. He leaned down, approaching the only part he could currently touch—the back of his neck. His canine teeth ground against the scabbed scar, but he didn’t bite. His lips brushed over the clear, pristine skin. He opened his mouth and heavily licked the scar on the back of the neck.
The taste on his tongue, as he drew it back, was slightly tart, like an unripe, dewy mushroom, raw and uncooked. Except when his emotions were intense, Xie Yuanxing almost always tasted like this when bitten. Yet, Shen Bianye buried himself in his neck and didn’t move, his tone almost dreamlike: “You smell so good, baby.”
“Is something bothering you, baby? Tell me, and I’ll fix it for you, okay?”
He remembered the doctor’s words: sadness is sour. But Xie Yuanxing always had this taste, always, like a gloomy mushroom in a corner, never touched by sunlight, never seeming truly happy.
These words were destined to receive no answer from Xie Yuanxing. Xie Yuanxing, having been heavily licked, felt as if that moist, sticky sensation still lingered on the back of his neck. He was extremely uncomfortable, his body even trembling slightly. If listened closely, his voice held a tremor, “If you’re going to bite, then bite. Why are you licking me?”
Shen Bianye sniffed at his neck, speaking generous words, yet his tone held a thick, unsatisfied restlessness: “I won’t bite now. I’ll let you off this once.” Then he sounded a little aggrieved, “Baby, can’t you be happier?” “I want to taste something sweet. Even a lick to get a taste would be fine.”
Xie Yuanxing’s words, falling into Shen Bianye’s ears, sounded like those of a heartless scoundrel, his tone so cold it could freeze someone to death.
“If you’re not biting, let go. I’m going to the library with Fang Zhi.”
“It’s not good to leave someone waiting outside.”
Not only did Shen Bianye not let go, but he took advantage, placing his hand on Xie Yuanxing’s waist. Xie Yuanxing was very thin; a slender waist formed a natural hollow, as if designed for his hand.
“Don’t go with him. I’ll tutor you.”
Xie Yuanxing first frowned slightly, then refused. He used words Shen Bianye couldn’t refute: “Staring at me while I eat affects your biting experience, so there’s no need for tutoring, right?”
“Aren’t you unwilling to be with me, a Beta, unless you absolutely have to return to the dorm?”
Shen Bianye’s body imperceptibly stiffened. For a moment, he couldn’t say anything else, but the desire not to let Xie Yuanxing go to the library with Fang Zhi pulled at him. A moment later, he tutted, “How about this: you pay me a hundred yuan per hour, and I’ll reluctantly tutor you.”
“You’ve taken so much from me; I have to earn some back, right?” Shen Bianye highlighted his advantage: “My Linear Algebra scores in freshman year were among the best in the class, much more reliable than anyone named Fang Zhi.”
These words entered Xie Yuanxing’s left ear and were automatically translated into something else in his right ear. His fifty yuan was now demanding a hundred yuan.
Xie Yuanxing calmly turned around, leaving Shen Bianye with a cold back, and said blandly, “No need. I’ll choose the free option.”
