GBROTAH CH13

“You’re right, he and I are no different.”

“I was being a busybody.”

After the resounding slam of the door, everything fell silent. Xie Yuanxing sat alone in the dorm room, a solitary phone on the empty desk. The phone was old-fashioned, a five or six-year-old model, long since obsolete, but Xie Yuanxing had kept it well, and it still ran smoothly.

At that moment, it buzzed incessantly, messages popping up one after another. There were concerned inquiries from Gao Yufei and Fang Zhi, and abusive texts from Xie Zhuowu. Xie Yuanxing didn’t reply to anyone. He propped his elbows on the desk, cupped his face in his hands, and stared down at the constantly popping messages on his phone. His black bangs fell, slightly obscuring his pale and gloomy face. His mind was seriously contemplating one thing:

Now that Shen Bianye was gone in a huff, would the daily nutritionist-delivered meals he mentioned still be coming? It would be a shame if they didn’t. After all, he didn’t have to pay for that food… probably… right? Maybe he should apologize to Shen Bianye tomorrow… but he sort of didn’t want to…

Xie Yuanxing used the pose of cupping his face to slap his cheeks. After two resounding slaps, his gaze firmed, convincing himself. Don’t be at odds with money, Xie Yuanxing. He must apologize!

After making up his mind, he reached out and blacklisted Xie Zhuowu’s number. A flicker of disgust crossed his inky black eyes as he idly thought:

It’d be great if Xie Zhuowu could just die.

Shen Bianye, after slamming the dorm room door, immediately hailed a taxi and left. His face was grim, but he made call after call, instructing people to contact management to delete the post, mute the conversation, suppress the trending topic, and find out who was behind it. It was then that Luo Chengjie’s minion contacted Shen Bianye.

Shen Bianye frowned slightly:

“Who is Luo Chengjie?”

The minion said:

“Brother Luo, no, it’s Luo Chengjie. He had a conflict with you guys at the bar. That time he was unreasonably pulling the female waitress to drink, and you stopped him.”

He had seen how quickly the post was deleted, and all other discussions about it were immediately removed as soon as they were posted. This speed of response made him vaguely feel that they had provoked Shen Bianye. If he could get in with Shen Bianye because of this, it would be great.

Shen Bianye listened to the person on the other end of the phone, frowning:

“What does that have to do with Xie Yuanxing?”

The minion tried his best to explain clearly, from Luo Chengjie’s father looking down on his poor academic performance, to his pursuit of an A University science and engineering Omega hitting a wall, and then to Luo Chengjie despising Xie Yuanxing, considering him a pauper who would still have to bow to him even after getting into A University’s science and engineering department. He pretty much laid out Luo Chengjie’s entire psychological state.

As Shen Bianye listened, he smiled. This kind of person is just too rich and bored, looking for satisfaction by bullying others. He coldly hung up the phone and then dialed another number.

“Uncle Liu, help me deal with someone.”

The voice on the other end of the phone was even colder than his:

“Shen Bianye, are the courses at A University’s science and engineering department that light? If you’re bored, don’t bother my general manager. Everyone else is busy, unlike you, who’s so idle.”

Shen Bianye took the phone away and glanced at it, confirming he hadn’t dialed the wrong number, then sneered:

“Not necessarily. Uncle Liu isn’t like you; he has to be busy making babies.”

“Don’t worry, you won’t have a second son in this lifetime.”

“Give Uncle Liu the phone back. I wasn’t looking for you, Shen Zheng.”

Shen Zheng sneered: “Am I giving you too much face?”

“I’m your father; you should call me Dad.”

Shen Bianye nonchalantly waved for the club manager to bring drinks, casually saying into the phone:

“I haven’t found a father who gets so desperate to have children outside when his own son won’t live past thirty.”

“All these years, any movement?”

“You’re this old; it’s not shameful to admit your sperm quality is poor.”

In the office, the elegantly dressed middle-aged man in a suit turned livid with rage, uncharacteristically swearing, “I should have shot you on the wall back then.”

Shen Bianye scoffed and hung up the phone directly, sighing:

“Such a respectable chairman, talking so dirty.”

He had it on speakerphone, and the club manager nearby heard everything he said. Cold sweat beaded on the manager’s forehead, thinking: Whose fault is it that Chairman Shen talks so dirty? Does Young Master Shen not know?

Clubs of their caliber had very high confidentiality. Even if they heard anything, they would keep it to themselves. Seeing Shen Bianye hang up, the manager quickly called for drinks to be brought in, wiped his sweat, and hastily retreated.

After hanging up, Shen Bianye composed a text message and sent it to Uncle Liu. Luo Chengjie had repeatedly used a little money to bully people. He wasn’t really that keen on interfering in Xie Yuanxing’s affairs. He just wanted to see what would happen to someone like Luo Chengjie without that money.

“Uncle Liu, help me out. This person’s family has a small company. Help me handle it.”

“Just use the money in my account.”

As he composed the text message, the drinks were laid out on the table. Shen Bianye, as usual, didn’t want anyone to accompany him, sending everyone else out. However, usually, either Zhou Chao or other friends would be there, but today he was alone. After the drinks were served and the attendants left, the private room instantly became quiet. The spacious, empty private room had rows of bottles, and the dim lights flickered, casting shadows on Shen Bianye’s face, making it alternately bright and dark.

He stared at the alcohol, without much desire to drink, but since he was already here, if he didn’t drink, there didn’t seem to be anything else to do. After some thought, he called Zhou Chao again, “Didn’t we say we haven’t gathered in a while?”

“Tell them to come out and gather.”

Not long after, several cars, each worth millions, pulled up to the club’s entrance. When Zhou Chao pushed the door open, he saw Shen Bianye and laughed, “We’re always waiting for you. Has the sun risen from the west today?”

“It’s your turn to wait for us?”

The man with pink hair whistled, “I heard the club has a new batch of Omegas, all very hot, and virgins too. Brother Shen, aren’t you calling them to accompany us?”

The person who followed in laughed, “Our Brother Shen never calls for those, you know that.”

A baby-faced teenager squeezed in from the side, pouting in displeasure, “It’s always Omegas. I’m already tired of the few Alphas I like in this club.”

Pink-haired man teased, stroking his face, “How about me?”

Baby-faced: “Get lost. I hook up with men; men don’t hook up with me.”

A group of them came in, laughing and chatting. Seeing Shen Bianye silent, they exchanged glances. Zhou Chao, who had the best relationship with Shen Bianye, spoke first: “What’s wrong?”

Shen Bianye looked up, scoffed lightly, and said as if nothing was amiss: “Later, keep your pheromones contained. They smell awful mixed together.”

“Also, if anyone dares to get it on in this room, I’ll have them carried out and thrown outside the club.”

Several people collectively scoffed, then burst into laughter, some ordering songs, others ordering people. The atmosphere in the private room immediately heated up. Shen Bianye initially participated in their conversations, occasionally clinking glasses and drinking, but later he sat in a corner, drinking by himself, glass after glass.

Zhou Chao also didn’t order anyone; he sidled over, clinked glasses with Shen Bianye, and then lowered his voice to ask: “You and that Beta have been together for a while now, right?”

“How’s it going? Is it working?”

Few people knew about Shen Bianye’s pheromone disorder, and he spoke vaguely, “If it’s not working, just pay them off and be done with it.”

“You’re trying to get him his three hundred yuan back, then transferring money, then finding him a nutritionist. He’s just using this to play hard to get. A Beta, really taking himself too seriously.”

Shen Bianye didn’t look at him, tightening his grip on the wine glass. He tilted his head back and downed the drink in one gulp.

“He has a name. It’s Xie Yuanxing.”

“Don’t talk about him in that tone.”

Zhou Chao paused, not quite understanding: “What?”

Shen Bianye: “He has a name. Don’t call him ‘Beta,’ ‘Beta’.”

Zhou Chao was stunned, then laughed, “I say, didn’t you dislike him too?”

“Why are you defending him now?”

Shen Bianye leaned back, the shadows obscuring his face. He spoke in a low voice, with a hint of an unclear meaning: “Everyone thinks I dislike him.”

In the private room, the pink-haired man was howling a song, deafeningly loud. No one heard Shen Bianye’s last words.

No, that’s not it.

It’s Xie Yuanxing who dislikes him.
