FIMA Ch153: Wife

On the Canglan Continent, there are two major rivers, the Cang River and the Lan River.

These two rivers nourish almost all living beings on the continent, and many immortal sects are established along their banks.

At the upper reaches of the Lan River, there is a vast, misty divine mountain range that reaches into the clouds, its foothills shrouded in clouds and mist all year round, sacred and mysterious.

This mountain range is called the Taixuan Mountain Range.

One of the four great immortal sects on the Canglan Continent, the Taixuan Immortal Sect, is located here.

As soon as the white spirit boat approached the Taixuan Mountain Range, Gu Siyuan woke up from his meditation. The spiritual energy here was several times richer than on the way, and it would surely be even more astonishing once they entered the mountains.

Truly an immortal paradise!

He stood up, lightly brushed his robe, and looked towards the soft couch not far away, where a slim figure in red was curled up.

With a fair complexion, long eyelashes, and a serene sleeping face.

Gu Siyuan, however, felt no pity, coldly saying, “You should leave.”

The person who had been sound asleep suddenly opened his eyes, clear and bright, and glared at Gu Siyuan, “How heartless of you, kicking out your husband while he’s still asleep?”

Gu Siyuan’s expression remained unchanged, “Stop acting coy.”

Xie Xueyi hugged his knees on the couch, then giggled, “Hmm, the vulgar see vulgarity. I’m talking to you nicely, how is it acting coy? Is Brother Siyuan hoping I’d act coy? Just say it if you want…”

Gu Siyuan stood by the window, looking at the familiar scenery outside, “The Immortal Sect is right in front of us, and the new disciples are about to gather. If you don’t leave now, what will you say when others ask?”

Last night, this guy used the excuse that the new disciples’ gathering place was too poor and took over his bed, staying there all night.

Xie Xueyi blinked innocently, “What else can I say? Just tell the truth. I met my heartless fiancé, who happens to be the current senior brother of the Taixuan Immortal Sect, and we rekindled our old flame.”

Gu Siyuan raised an eyebrow, “Tell the truth? Including the ten years you spent in the demonic sect?”

Xie Xueyi’s smile instantly froze.

His expression turned extremely cold as he stared at Gu Siyuan, “You… even know about this.”

Gu Siyuan nodded lightly without saying more.

The air became silent.

Xie Xueyi got off the couch and walked step by step to stand in front of Gu Siyuan, his snow-white bare feet lightly stepping on Gu Siyuan’s black boots, more exquisite and beautiful than cold jade.

Tilting his head slightly, he looked at Gu Siyuan with an expression that was both bewitching and innocent, “Brother Siyuan, if you hadn’t mentioned it, I wouldn’t have known. So, you care about me this much, knowing everything about me?”

Gu Siyuan’s expression remained stern and unmoved by the provocation.

He merely said to Xie Xueyi, “The Taixuan Immortal Sect conducts strict checks on new disciples. You must not act too frivolously or recklessly, and you must not casually mention the past. Your abduction by the demonic sect was not a secret back home. Now, with the escalating conflict between the righteous and demonic paths, revealing your identity would be extremely harmful to you.”

Xie Xueyi glared at him.

After a moment, his lips curled up again, and he laughed crisply, “I understand that Brother Siyuan is doing this for my own good. Of course, I’ll listen to you.”

Gu Siyuan glanced at his bare feet, “Put on your shoes and go out to join the others.”

“I’m too weak to walk,” Xie Xueyi’s toes playfully curled as he righteously demanded, “Brother Siyuan, carry me.”

Gu Siyuan gave him a glance and raised his arm.

Xie Xueyi immediately smiled smugly.

The next moment, he felt a warm touch on his shoulder and a surge of spiritual energy that, like a gust of wind, propelled him uncontrollably backward.

He flew back until he reached the corner of the room near the soft couch, where the spiritual energy ran out just in time, causing him to fall perfectly onto the couch without any error, demonstrating Gu Siyuan’s precise control of spiritual energy.

But Xie Xueyi had no time to admire…

The morning sunlight gently poured into the room.

Under the window, Gu Siyuan stood tall and looked down at him, “If you keep acting mischievous, you’ll enter the mountains barefoot.”

Seeing Gu Siyuan standing there so elegantly yet acting so coldly, Xie Xueyi was so angry that his eyes widened, “Gu Siyuan, no matter how good-looking you are, you’ll never get a wife with this attitude.”

“I don’t mind.” Gu Siyuan replied indifferently, “Or perhaps it’s even better.”

Xie Xueyi pounded the bed in frustration and started putting on his shoes angrily.

Watching him, Gu Siyuan thought: now he’s obedient.

After putting on his shoes, Xie Xueyi bounced lively on the ground a couple of times, like a child with new shoes.

Then he hopped over to Gu Siyuan, looking pitiful, “Brother Siyuan, bend down, I have something to tell you.”

Gu Siyuan squinted his eyes.

He doubted this guy had anything serious to say.

However, he just had to take it as it came.

So he leaned down.

The next second, he felt a wet, warm sensation on his right ear, accompanied by a sharp pain.

It must be bleeding; otherwise, with his pain tolerance, he wouldn’t feel it so clearly.

Gu Siyuan pushed the person in front of him away, his expression unperturbed, “What are you doing, pretending to be a little dog?”

Xie Xueyi laughed, his pretty red lips still stained with blood, revealing sharp white teeth like a fierce wild beast eyeing its prey.

“This is punishment. You made me angry. Next time, it will hurt more.”

With that, he turned and left the room without looking back.

The character of this world’s mission target really needed discipline.

Gu Siyuan shook his head, a faint spiritual light appearing in his hand as he took out a green and white porcelain bottle from his storage ring.

This was a top-grade healing elixir from Qingchen Mountain. He applied some to his ear, and within moments, the wound began to scab.

After waiting a bit longer, Gu Siyuan also left the room.

However, after only a few steps, he was puzzled by the scene in front of him.

He looked at Ji Jinghuan, who was at the center of the commotion, “We’re about to return to the sect. Junior Brother Ji, what’s going on?”

Ren Jiutian, who was leaning against the door enjoying the spectacle, immediately laughed, “Isn’t it that our Junior Brother Ji spent the night with a new disciple and was caught by his fiancé?”

Ji Jinghuan frowned at Ren Jiutian, “Senior Brother, mind your words.”

Then he turned to Ruan Li, who was holding onto Xie Xueyi, and frowned, “Don’t make trouble. I was just talking to Junior Brother Xueyi. It’s not what you think.”

Ruan Li didn’t believe him, pointing at Xie Xueyi, “Talking? This early in the morning, behind closed doors, with your lips even bleeding? Jinghuan, do you take me for a fool? He’s a new disciple; if he weren’t with you, how could he be on the second level of the spirit boat?”

Gu Siyuan glanced at Xie Xueyi’s blood-stained lips, raising an eyebrow.

This was from biting him earlier, and he hadn’t even wiped it off…

Noticing Gu Siyuan’s gaze, Xie Xueyi smugly winked.

Then he looked at Ruan Li holding onto him, lazily saying, “Senior Brother Ruan Li, you’ve misunderstood. This blood is from eating an undercooked spirit beast this morning. See, it’s gone now.”

As he spoke, he licked his lips lightly.

Ji Jinghuan quickly added, “Ruan Li, I said it was a misunderstanding. Stop being unreasonable.”

Hearing this, Ruan Li’s face turned ugly, his eyes filled with tears, “Jinghuan, you’re calling me unreasonable? You never said that to me before. Do you remember how close we were in the cave back then…”

Mentioning the past softened Ji Jinghuan’s heart.

He sighed, “I remember. Ruan Li, I remember you were the most understanding boy. That’s why I wanted to marry you. So, let’s end this here. Junior Brother Xueyi and I are really just a misunderstanding.”

Hearing this, Ruan Li’s eyes flickered, touched, “Alright, Jinghuan, I believe you. I was only so angry because I love you so much. This Xie Xueyi, looking all androgynous and seductive, I…”

“Hmm?”

“…” Xie Xueyi was angry.

Was it necessary to flaunt your love and hurt me in the process?

Gu Siyuan’s icy gaze swept towards Ruan Li: “Having passed the three entrance trials, Xie Xueyi is now a member of our sect. As his senior, Ruan Li, you should protect and guide him. How can you speak so disrespectfully? Where is the Taixuan spirit? Do you remember the sect’s strict rules?”

These words were extremely cold and weighty.

Everyone present felt a shiver in their hearts.

Especially Ruan Li, who was the person involved.

Since entering the mountain, he had always been supported by Ji Jinghuan and had never been reprimanded so harshly. His demeanor immediately shrank, almost losing his composure.

Xie Xueyi, propping his chin with his hand, licked his lips as he watched Gu Siyuan.

Heh heh, truly impressive!

Ji Jinghuan, standing to the side, felt a bit awkward.

He tried to comfort Ruan Li, “Ruan Li, apologize to Junior Brother Xueyi. I really wasn’t with Junior Brother Xueyi last night. From yesterday until this morning, I was actually helping Xinchi heal his wounds. I just returned to my room.”

However, this statement only added fuel to the fire.

Ruan Li’s face twisted completely: “What did you say? You were with Xiao Xinchi all night?”

Compared to others, Xiao Xinchi was his biggest rival, as everything he had now was stolen from Xiao Xinchi.

He glared fiercely at Xiao Xinchi, who had been silent, “Is this true? How dare you, how dare you…”

Xiao Xinchi, feeling guilty, lowered his head slightly, “Cousin, I’m sorry, but Senior Brother Ji was really just helping me heal.”

“You shameless thing.” Ruan Li raised his hand to slap him.

Ji Jinghuan grabbed his wrist, frowning coldly, “Ruan Li, have you gone mad? Xinchi is your own cousin. He fought hard against the demonic path yesterday and was severely injured. If I didn’t help him heal, it could damage his future cultivation foundation. Can’t you differentiate between what’s important and what’s not?”

“This story is full of twists and turns!” commented Yan Miaomiao, who was watching.

Yi Qianqiu said calmly, “Junior Brother Ji’s romantic entanglements are truly troublesome.”

Gu Siyuan’s expression was indifferent, thinking these fools were blinded by love.

He coldly addressed Ji Jinghuan and the others, “Enough, all of you. Resolve your romantic issues after returning to the mountain. The spirit boat is about to enter the sect. Everyone line up and wait. Otherwise, if you are killed by the protective formation, it will be your own fault!”

With that, he turned and walked out of the spirit boat.

Ji Jinghuan watched Gu Siyuan’s departing figure, squinting his eyes.

He had always been the most outstanding one in the Taixuan Immortal Sect.

Until yesterday, he had never regarded Gu Siyuan, who held the position of senior brother, as a rival.

Initially, he didn’t care about missing the Taixuan competition and losing the title of senior brother due to Ruan Li’s caprice, because he knew that in the eyes of the entire sect, he was the real senior brother.

Indeed, Gu Siyuan, after gaining the title, had only become more gloomy and withdrawn.

But today, or rather since yesterday, Gu Siyuan seemed like a different person, exuding an overwhelming aura.

Now, he even had the audacity to lecture him.

Ji Jinghuan, who had never been looked down upon by a peer, was incensed.

As Gu Siyuan walked to the front of the spirit boat, dozens of disciples in five-colored robes from various mountains were already standing there, with the newly recruited disciples standing quietly behind them.

Seeing Gu Siyuan come out, they all called out in unison, “Senior Brother!”

Gu Siyuan nodded slightly.

Following him, Ji Jinghuan, Xie Xueyi, and the others came out and stood in line.

Gu Siyuan walked to the very front of the spirit boat, raised his hand, and a delicate, ornate jade token floated swiftly into the air.

He called out loudly below, “The spirit boat has returned. Please activate the formation!”

The next moment, a brilliant five-colored divine light flashed above the huge mountain gate of the Taixuan Immortal Sect, forming a large light ring in mid-air.

Gu Siyuan exchanged glances with Ji Jinghuan and Yan Miaomiao, and the five of them simultaneously activated their spiritual power and made sword gestures.

The spirit boat beneath them suddenly accelerated, shooting through the light ring like an arrow, heading towards the central part of the Taixuan Mountains.

Passing through floating clouds and groups of celestial birds, the snow-white spirit boat finally landed steadily on a broad jade-paved square.

“The senior brothers are back!”

“I want to see Senior Brother Ji!”

“Ah, Senior Brother Ji is so handsome!”

“Senior Sister Yan is still so beautiful. Ah, Senior Sister, whip me with your whip!”

As Gu Siyuan and the other four head disciples led the way off the spirit boat, these frenzied words were what they heard.

Ren Jiutian squinted his eyes, jokingly saying, “In the end, Junior Brother Ji is still the most popular.”

However, as he said this, his eyes were on Gu Siyuan.

Yan Miaomiao raised an eyebrow, “Why am I overlooked? Isn’t it me who has the most people calling my name?”

Yi Qianqiu immediately nodded, “Junior Sister Yan stands head and shoulders above the rest. We are far behind.”

Yan Miaomiao smiled approvingly, “That’s more like it.”

Ji Jinghuan glanced thoughtfully at Yan Miaomiao and Yi Qianqiu.

Were they trying to help Gu Siyuan?

Did Gu Siyuan want to become the true senior brother?

Ji Jinghuan squinted his eyes. He hadn’t agreed to that!

Gu Siyuan’s expression remained calm, seemingly oblivious to the external remarks.

With his hands behind his back, he moved like a shooting star, swiftly landing beneath the spirit boat.

He looked at the elders waiting in front of the spirit boat and said coldly, “All the new disciples are here. Please arrange for their entrance and assignment to the various mountains. Also, we encountered some trouble on the way. We need to meet the sect leader immediately.”

The elder nodded and glanced at Ji Jinghuan, Yan Miaomiao, and the others behind him, “Alright, you all have worked hard on your journey.”

……

In the Taixuan mountain range, the peaks are endless and shrouded in mist.

Among them, five exceptionally towering peaks form a semicircle: Baiqing, Moyun, Qingchen, Ziji, and Hongling, each representing the main branches of the Taixuan Sect. Within this semicircle, there is an even broader peak called Taixuan, which serves as the residence of the sect leader.

After descending from the Taixuan Mountain, Gu Siyuan and the others bid farewell at the foot of the mountain, then flew to their respective mountains on their swords.

Qingchen Mountain is located to the southwest of Taixuan Mountain.

Qingchen Mountain spans a hundred miles and rises to about five thousand meters.

From the foot to the top, the journey becomes increasingly quiet and the spiritual energy grows purer.

Outer sect disciples reside at a thousand meters, inner sect disciples at two thousand meters, core disciples at three thousand meters, and at four thousand meters live Gu Siyuan, the chief senior brother, and the elders.

At the very top of the mountain, only one person resides: the current master of Qingchen Mountain.

Gu Siyuan silently landed in front of his residence without disturbing anyone.

Cultivators are not bound by worldly pleasures.

However, as the current chief of Qingchen Mountain, his courtyard has a certain charm.

Named “Lingya Pavilion,” the entire courtyard is situated on a cliff. The first thing one sees is a half-lake filled with elegant white lotuses, gracefully standing; behind the lake is a delicate two-story building made of some spiritual wood that does not rot when exposed to water and emits a faint fragrance.

Gu Siyuan squinted at the pavilion, crossed the lotus lake without disturbing the water, and landed in front of the door.

As he opened the door, a figure in red turned its head from the window, lively and at ease. Upon seeing the owner, the figure playfully winked.

“Darling, you’re finally back. I’ve been waiting for you for so long.”
