FI CH87: The Sun of the Feng Shui World

Everyone looked over, bewildered for a moment.

What marriage contract? What divinity?

The young girl’s face also went blank for a second.

In contrast to the quietness right in front of them, the surrounding students immediately erupted into a clamor. The girl’s voice had been soft and had coincided with He Zhenling’s words, so from a distance, they only heard the phrase “marriage contract.”

“Marriage contract? Who?”

“Teacher Lin and Chairman He? Didn’t someone say last time they saw the two of them leaving school together, acting intimately…”

“Teacher Lin is taken? My world is collapsing!”

“But Chairman He is so handsome too, sob sob sob…”

Lin Su was speechless.

He glanced to his side, pressing his lips together in frustration. Damn it, He Zhenling… he really doesn’t care about the occasion.

Xuenima was numb. [He chose this occasion on purpose.]

He Zhenling’s expression didn’t change as he stood to the side.

During the brief silence, Bai Jiang was the first to speak. “Haha… Chairman He, aren’t you getting a bit off-topic?” Who asked you?

He Zhenling replied casually, “Am I? Isn’t that what she was about to say?”

The girl, with her fluffy long hair, looked over quietly.

The others paused, then remembered the word she had been cut off from saying: divinity. A host of gazes, filled with suspicion and speculation, landed vaguely on the two of them.

Lin Su met their gazes calmly. “The sacredness of the teaching profession.” Then he pointed. “He is…”

Bai Jiang played along with a smile. “Then in what way is Chairman He divine?”

He Zhenling glanced over. “When one encounters a joyous occasion, one’s spirits are high.”

“…” Lin Su retracted his hand. “Right.”

Bai Jiang: ▼皿▼#

The topic was intentionally or unintentionally steered away, and no one else pursued it. Seeing He Zhenling, they greeted him, “Chairman He.” Their eyes fell on Lin Su, and they nodded again.

The Yi family was immersed in academia, perennially unaware of worldly affairs.

Lin Su scanned the group and, seeing no familiar old faces among the entourage, didn’t chat much.

Bai Xinwen turned and led the group to the principal’s office.

The principal’s office was quite spacious.

Inside, there was a small reception area large enough to accommodate the group. Lin Su called He Zhenling to follow him. While Bai Xinwen and the others discussed matters on the sofa, the two of them sat at the office desk a few steps away.

It seemed they were discussing enrollment. “…We just finished a case, so we missed the registration period.”

Bai Jiang said, “It’s possible, but Xiao Shui is only 14. Are you sure you want her to enroll?”

“Don’t worry, her skill level has already met the enrollment standard.”

Lin Su listened for a couple of sentences before pulling his gaze back.

He Zhenling sat before him, his side profile clear and coolly handsome. Lin Su paused, then lightly tapped him with his knee.

“What were you doing just now?”

He Zhenling turned, feigning ignorance. “What?”

Lin Su pursed his lips. “Don’t slip in your private agenda in public.”

“What private agenda?” He Zhenling said seriously. “I thought she had seen the fated marriage between us.”

“We haven’t even compared our birth charts. How could she tell?”

“From our faces.”

“…” Lin Su was silent for a moment, then said shyly, “That’s true. One look at your face and I can tell you’re destined to be my… lover.”

After he spoke, it suddenly became quiet.

He looked up to see He Zhenling looking at him, the corner of his lip curling with hidden meaning. “…‘Lover’? That’s not what you used to call me.”

Lin Su was confused.

He leaned in and whispered, “…Male companion?”

He Zhenling suddenly let out a low laugh but said nothing.

Lin Su racked his brain… Had he somehow missed another 17 years of his life?

As he was pondering, a “gurgle” sound came from a few steps away.

His thoughts interrupted, Lin Su followed the sound with his eyes.

A figure stood by the office desk, her light-colored long hair obscuring most of her form. A slender, pale arm reached out, nudged the collectible walnuts on the desk, and then retracted.

Sensing his gaze, Yi Shui turned around.

Her smoky-blue pupils met Lin Su’s eyes.

A faint gold glinted in the depths of Lin Su’s clear eyes. Yi Shui met his gaze quietly for a moment, then walked over and stopped in front of him. She looked up and said, “Brother Bai Jiang just told me you’re also a dual S-class.”

Lin Su nodded and said softly, “Mhm.”

“Have you also done many missions?”

“Only three so far.”

Yi Shui was slightly surprised, her voice soft. “So impressive.”

She then looked at He Zhenling beside him. “You and this unc…” The moment her eyes met He Zhenling’s, she changed her words. “…Big brother. You both have a layer of golden light on you.”

Lin Su praised her, “You’re very impressive too.”

Yi Shui’s small, young face showed neither joy nor sorrow; she only blinked. After a couple of seconds, she asked again, “Do you get tired after handling those cases?”

“It’s alright,” Lin Su said. “I sleep a lot.”

“…” He Zhenling glanced sideways at him.

A thoughtful expression appeared on Yi Shui’s face.

Before they could say much more, the group over there stood up.

It seemed their discussion was finished. Bai Xinwen accepted the enrollment documents and said to the Yi family members, “She can start classes next Monday.”

“Thank you for your trouble, Principal Bai.”

With the enrollment settled, they prepared to leave.

Yi Shui turned her head for a look, then nodded goodbye to Lin Su and He Zhenling before following her family.

After the group left, Lin Su didn’t stay long either. He bid farewell to the Bai father and son and left with He Zhenling.

The office door clicked shut.

Their footsteps echoed through the corridor.

After walking a short distance, He Zhenling spoke. “You’ve seen her. Is there a ‘problem’?”

“Not really.”

Lin Su looked ahead, the hem of his clothes fluttering slightly. “Her fortune has indeed been altered.” He paused. “But her fate hasn’t been swapped, nor has her luck been stolen. Quite the opposite, the entire family’s best fortune is on her—”

He Zhenling raised an eyebrow and looked over.

Lin Su explained, “Possessing the Yi family’s single-heir Yin-Yang Eyes, with super-strong intuition and perception, her powerful spiritual ability comes from inheritance and endowment.”

“You mean the entire clan’s fortune is tied to her.”

“Yes…”

Lin Su sighed softly. “It seems the Yi family is still chasing the ‘pinnacle.’”

But it was another family’s business. Since no rules were broken, they couldn’t interfere.

He Zhenling hummed in agreement and turned back.

The two had lunch outside.

In the afternoon, He Zhenling had to go to the Supervision Association for some business, so Lin Su went home first. When He Zhenling came over in the evening, Lin Su saw that he had brought several sets of clothes.

Lin Su leaned against the bedroom doorway, remarking admiringly, “You’ve come to my house fully armed for battle.”

He Zhenling looked at him and chuckled. “What battle?”

“…” Lin Su straightened up. Damn it, his smile is so scorching again. …Damn it?

[No response.]

“.”

He Zhenling walked past him into his bedroom. Lin Su followed and watched him hang the clothes one by one in the closet. There were many jackets: traditional Chinese outer shirts, uniform jackets, long trench coats, suits… a complete collection.

But without exception, the shirts underneath were all black turtlenecks.

Lin Su stood to the side and touched one. “How come I’ve never seen you wear a low-collared shirt? Is there something you can’t let see the light of day…” He said shyly, “Let me have a look.”

The man beside him paused and looked down.

The two were standing between the open closet doors, which blocked most of the light, making the space feel even more enclosed and narrow. He Zhenling raised the hand that was hanging clothes and just looked at him for two seconds, then smiled.

Lin Su was confused.

The look made his heart itch, and he reached for the man’s waist. “Let me have a taste of the good fruit too?”

“…” His hand was caught with a slap.

He Zhenling’s downward gaze deepened.

In the separated space, there was an inherent sense of secrecy. Lin Su met his gaze for two seconds. He Zhenling suddenly leaned down, cupped his chin with one hand, and bit his lip. “…Mph!”

His teeth released, and he licked the bite mark before pulling away.

His slightly parted lips were glistening. He Zhenling’s gaze fell upon them. “Next time.”

The bite left Lin Su’s mind blank for a second. He slowly said, “…Then, I’ll let you off the hook for now.”

The closet door closed with a soft thud. “Mhm.”

Since the clothes were here, He Zhenling stayed the night as usual.

Lin Su didn’t get to fool around and went to sleep cuddled with his Alpaca Lamp.

He always woke up later than He Zhenling.

The next day, when He Zhenling got up, the master bedroom door was still closed. The phone charging outside suddenly started ringing incessantly. He walked over and saw the caller ID: [Bai Jiang].

He Zhenling paused for a moment, then answered.

“Brother Teacher!”

“He’s still sleeping.”

“……” The person on the other end choked abruptly, then switched to a serious tone. “Chairman He, please wake the teacher up gently. It’s an emergency.”

His tone indeed did not sound like he was joking.

He Zhenling grunted in affirmation. “Hold on.”

He didn’t hang up. Holding the phone, he walked into the bedroom and dug out the person buried in the blankets. “Wake up, you have a… a call.”

Lin Su hummed softly, rubbing his face.

A vein twitched on He Zhenling’s forehead. He held the phone a little further away and patted him again. Xuenima, curled up indifferently nearby, saw this and swatted with its paw—

Lin Su’s eyes snapped open. !

He Zhenling was speechless.

Lin Su took a second to recover, looking at the face leaning over him. “What are you doing to me again while I’m asleep…”

He Zhenling cut him off sharply. “Phone call.”

Lin Su fell silent.

He looked at the screen a short distance away, which displayed [Call in progress], and sank into silence.

Then he got up, took the phone, and said in a serious tone, “Xiao Bai.”

The voice on the other end was tearful. “Teacher…” It quickly returned to normal. “Teacher, Xiao Shui is missing.”

Lin Su was stunned for a moment, now fully awake.

Bai Jiang continued over the phone, “They said she went missing yesterday evening and they still haven’t found her. We don’t know if she left on her own or if…” He paused. “This has never happened before. Xiao Shui’s significance to the Yi family is extraordinary. The entire clan is looking for her right now—”

“But the disparity in our perception abilities is too great, so we can’t find her. That’s why I wanted to ask if you could help, Teacher.”

Lin Su threw off the covers and got up. “Give me a moment.”

He hung up and walked to the desk to take out his Luo Pan compass. Divining the situation took but an instant. An invisible red line shot straight towards the northwest suburbs—

Lin Su examined it closely, then dialed the number back. “Xiao Bai, Xiao Shui is still at the Yi family estate.”

Bai Jiang was stunned. “But they’ve all been unable to find her.”

Lin Su thought for a moment. “I’ll make a trip.”

After saying that, he hung up and patted He Zhenling. “Let’s go, to the Yi family’s place.”

He Zhenling took a deep breath and picked up his Tang knife.

The Yi family estate was located at the foot of a small mountain in the northwest suburbs.

The entire residence occupied nearly half the mountainside, a truly secluded dwelling. In this season, the lush mountain forest was gradually turning golden, dotted with patches of sunset colors.

Lin Su and He Zhenling made their way up the mountain.

The winding mountain road disappeared into the forest. As Lin Su climbed, he said, “This is why I hated visiting the Yi family the most when I used to travel.”

He Zhenling replied casually, “Oh? Then which family did you love visiting the most?”

“I loved visiting…” He stopped mid-sentence, catching himself sharply. He continued slowly, “The He Family Fortress.”

He Zhenling’s lips twitched. “Mhm.” Then he glanced sideways. “So where is that kid in the Yi estate?”

Lin Su shook his head. “Feng Shui families have barriers that block interference from the outside. I’ll only know the specifics once we’re inside.”

As they spoke, they had already reached the halfway point of the mountain.

A grand, ancient gate stood before them, with two disciples guarding it with grim expressions.

Seeing the two approach, they immediately blocked their path. “Please stop!”

Lin Su stopped before the gate. “I’m here to help find someone.”

The two disciples exchanged a glance.

The entire main family now knew Yi Shui was missing, and the whole clan was on high alert, jumpy at every rustle. They didn’t know if it was a kidnapping by another family or if outsiders had some scheme against the Feng Shui world’s “prodigy.”

One disciple immediately said, “Apologies. During this special period, the family head has ordered that no one is allowed to enter or leave at will!”

He Zhenling said coolly, “Not even the Supervision Association?”

The disciple was neither servile nor overbearing. “…Not without a search warrant! Not even you, Chairman He!”

Seeing that the two were unyielding, Lin Su had no choice but to take out his phone, preparing to call for backup. He swiped through his contacts and only then remembered: WeChat didn’t exist 17 years ago, and he had gotten a new phone after waking up.

The two disciples were still blocking the way stiffly.

He Zhenling leaned over and whispered, “Can’t find them? I’ll have my people…”

Lin Su sighed. “Forget it, no need for all that trouble.”

“?”

With that, he put his phone away and announced coldly, “Tell your family head that Yi Shui is in my hands! Come out quickly, or the sun will not rise in the Feng Shui world tomorrow.”

The two disciples were shocked.

He Zhenling was speechless.
