FI CH84: When Will It Be Confirmed?

The office had never been this quiet.

The opening and closing of the door was like poking a nest of S-class individuals.

The only three SS-privileged class members in the entire feng shui world were all here, along with Principal Bai Xinwen, who had a verifiable track record.

They all seemed to be very familiar with Lin Su.

And what did President Bai just call him… Teacher?

—And he even said he came to the school specifically to attend a class?

In the dead silence, no one spoke.

Cheng Qikang, facing the main door, felt the flames of his anger completely extinguished. He could neither stand nor sit.

After a long while, a voice finally broke the stalemate.

Lin Su spoke amiably, “We were discussing professional ethics.”

Bai Xinwen’s expression softened slightly. “Oh, reflecting on oneself three times a day… not bad, not bad…”

Everyone secretly breathed a sigh of relief: he was someone who knew how to smooth things over.

The next moment, they heard Lin Su chuckle. “For example, Professor Cheng feels that someone of my caliber can’t teach anything good.”

“…” Everyone: !!

Bai Jiang: ?

Bai Xinwen: ???

The father and son stared straight ahead at the same time.

Bai Xinwen’s face darkened. Although Bai Jiang was still smiling, his smile was as chilling as a cold wind. “Ah, is that so? Then as the teacher’s direct disciple… what does that make me?”

He Zhenling cast a light glance at the man.

Cheng Qikang abruptly looked up!

The impact of the personal admission was even greater than before.

Everyone’s shocked gazes darted back and forth in disbelief. However, the expressions of the four people present didn’t seem fake. After a moment, someone finally asked tentatively:

“But Teacher Lin, you’re clearly so young…”

Bai Jiang said with a grin, “Teacher just looks young.” His gaze slowly swept around the room. “Has any of you seen the teacher’s file?”

The office fell silent at once.

They didn’t have the authority to access Lin Su’s file. Speaking of which, they really didn’t know his actual age.

But if Lin Su was President Bai’s teacher… someone who could teach a student who became the President of the Heavenly Master Association and the holder of the school’s highest credit record, wasn’t such a qualification enough to be a professor here?

In the silence, one teacher said in a conciliatory tone, “We misunderstood Teacher Lin. If you had just said earlier that you taught such an outstanding student as President Bai, then…”

“Didn’t I say it?”

Lin Su met everyone’s gazes. “—the President, is growing up very strong.”

Everyone: “……” Who the hell pauses a sentence like that!!

Amid the speechlessness, Bai Xinwen suddenly spoke.

He swept his authoritative gaze across the room. “Do you all think that the school would just casually hire a teacher without any investigation?”

Everyone in the office held their breath.

A few gazes fell on Cheng Qikang.

Bai Xinwen looked at Lin Su again. “Sorry, Brother Lin. It was hard enough to get you to come teach here, only for you to hear such unbecoming words.”

Lin Su waved his hand magnanimously. “It’s fine. I didn’t let them off easy either.”

“……” The people in the office.

Bai Jiang’s eyes shone. “As expected of Teacher~!”

Bai Xinwen’s eyelid twitched at the sight, then he turned his head. “I hope that in the future, you will not discuss colleagues behind their backs because of some baseless rumors.”

His words were pointed.

Everyone around bowed their heads. Most of the teachers had only joined in the questioning. Now that the misunderstanding was cleared up, they all spoke up to apologize. “Sorry, Teacher Lin.” “It won’t happen again, it won’t…”

Cheng Qikang stood behind his desk, his old face flushing red and white.

He had never imagined Lin Su had such connections, and a whole string of them at that! He couldn’t afford to offend any of them, but he couldn’t bring himself to apologize.

He simply remained silent, waiting for the storm to pass.

At the front, Bai Xinwen was already calling to him. “Let’s go, Brother Lin.”

Lin Su turned around. “Mm.”

Just as Cheng Qikang was quietly trying to fade into the background, he suddenly heard a soft “Ah…” and then, “Oh, right.”

Lin Su turned to look at him. “Professor Cheng, you tried to kick me out of the school time and again. Don’t use your colleagues as a shield.”

The surrounding people were stunned and all looked at Cheng Qikang.

Cheng Qikang was shocked! He never expected Lin Su to just say it out loud. He ignored the gazes from all around and stared straight at him. “…What are you talking about?”

Lin Su said slowly, “I’m talking about you throwing out my application form.”

Cheng Qikang immediately snorted coldly. “Slander! I’ve never even seen your application form.”

Someone in the office whispered:

“Uh… what application form?”

Cheng Qikang’s heart skipped a beat as he saw Lin Su smile. “You see, you don’t seem surprised at all that I submitted an ‘admissions application form’.”

The surrounding gazes were now tinged with suspicion.

Bai Xinwen’s face darkened again. Bai Jiang smiled like a chilly spring day, asking with his hands in his sleeves, “Professor Cheng, was there really such a thing?”

Cheng Qikang masked his expression and flatly denied it. “I just didn’t process it. I don’t know anything about this.”

He hadn’t left any traces throughout the whole process.

Could they really investigate something that didn’t succeed?

Lin Su looked at him for two seconds, then suddenly turned his head. “Can it be investigated?”

Cheng Qikang followed his gaze and saw it was the President of the Inspection Association, He Zhenling—other than bringing something for someone when he first arrived, he hadn’t said a word since, almost making people forget his presence.

At this moment, a smile suddenly appeared on that cold face.

He looked at Lin Su. “Since you’ve said so, why not?”

The whole office froze for a moment.

Bai Xinwen: o.0… Hmm?

Bai Jiang, used to it: Hehe. ^^

Lin Su’s face felt a little hot. He nodded seriously. “Then I’ll leave it to you, President He.”

He Zhenling let out a meaningful laugh, his knuckles resting on his Tang knife. “Got it, Teacher Lin.”

“……”

Lin Su primly turned back to face Cheng Qikang, whose expression was about to break. “Then let’s just hope you are completely innocent, Professor Cheng.” He curved his lips. “After all… who knows what kind of students will be produced by a teacher with no professional ethics.”

Cheng Qikang gritted his teeth and took a breath.

Bai Xinwen looked at him for two seconds and said in a heavy voice, “Professor Cheng, abusing your authority in admissions is no small matter. You are suspended pending the results of the investigation.”

The door closed with a “thud”! The group of people left.

The surrounding teachers weren’t blind. Seeing Cheng Qikang’s expression, they more or less understood the situation and subtly distanced themselves from him.

Cheng Qikang couldn’t be bothered with them for now.

His chest heaved. He sat down to calm himself: …Don’t panic, there’s no evidence for this matter.

Besides, the Cheng family also has influence.

Outside the office, the four stood in the hallway.

Lin Su looked around, gratified: Damn, the scene of the three dads gathering at the summit has finally happened.

The Xuenima said benevolently: [And Grandpa Xue.]

In the scene, only Bai Xinwen seemed a bit out of place.

He finally found a chance to greet him. “President He.” After a pause, his gaze shifted back and forth. “…Why did you come to the school?”

He Zhenling said naturally, “He left something at home.”

Bai Xinwen glanced sideways. “…?”

Bai Jiang laughed. “It seems the Inspection Association doesn’t have much work.” ^▽^

He Zhenling looked at him and curled his lips. “The Heavenly Master Headquarters seems quite free too.”

The two exchanged smiles that didn’t reach their eyes.

Bai Xinwen looked from left to right, then finally slapped his son. “Is that how you talk to President He?”

Bai Jiang: “……”

He Zhenling seemed magnanimous. “It’s fine, he’s still young.”

Seeing the resentful look in Bai Jiang’s eyes that was about to drip water, Lin Su couldn’t help but speak in a warm voice, “Alright, Old Bai, Xiao Bai is a president now too. Don’t scold him in public all the time.”

He then said to He Zhenling, “And you, don’t spoil him too much.”

“……” He Zhenling.

“……” Bai Jiang.

Xuenima observed: [Their expressions both look like they’ve eaten Cheng Zhuo.]

Bai Jiang skipped over the topic and re-energized, squeezing over. “Teacher~ I finished my work, so I have all day today to listen to your lecture. ^▽^

Lin Su was silent for a moment. “I’ve already finished all my classes for today.”

Bai Jiang was instantly struck by lightning…!

He Zhenling laughed unkindly. “Heh…”

Bai Xinwen suddenly remembered, “Right, Cheng Qikang is suspended now, so we need someone to substitute.” He took out his phone and scrolled through it. “He has a big lecture this afternoon…”

The father and son turned in unison: O.O

Lin Su, “……”

He sighed. “Forget it. I don’t have anything else to do anyway, so I’ll sub.”

“0v0!”

Bai Jiang justifiably stayed behind.

Lin Su then looked at He Zhenling, subconsciously touching his earring. “The magic tool has been delivered, so you…”

He Zhenling pursed his lips and casually turned his head. “I don’t have anything to do either. I can listen in.”

Lin Su spoke in his mind: Damn, he really…

[Wants to call you teacher.]

“Can’t leave me.”

[……] Silence fell in his consciousness again.

Lin Su’s eyes were filled with helplessness: Sigh, what is Xuenima thinking? Their relationship is very pure.

They had lunch together, then a lunch break.

The afternoon lecture started at 2:10 PM.

It was three periods long, with students from three classes attending together in a lecture hall in the Morality Building.

The huge classroom was packed with people.

Before the students had a chance to be pleasantly surprised by the young and handsome new teacher on the podium, they discovered that the back row, which was usually the first to be filled, had formed a vacuum.

Looking again, they saw the Principal, the President of the Heavenly Master Association, and the President of the Inspection Association all sitting there: “……”

“Holy crap…!”

“All three big shots are here, what’s going on?”

“This is my first time seeing President He, his aura is so intimidating… I don’t dare to look directly at him.”

“My god, are they all here to attend the lecture?!”

“Is it because of the new teacher? I heard the new teacher has an incredible background, I’m so excited ahhh…”

The entire classroom was abuzz with discussion, their gazes shifting between the front and the back.

Lin Su ignored the voices behind him.

He raised his hand and wrote the topic on the blackboard, the chalk characters clear and forceful. Thud. As the chalk landed, the class bell rang. He turned and clapped his hands.

“I’m Teacher Lin, here to substitute. I’m used to writing on the board, so feel free to take notes as you wish.”

After speaking, he smiled. “Class is starting.”

With three big shots sitting in the back, the students had expected the atmosphere to be tense and dull, but as Lin Su’s clear and melodious voice rang out, it was surprisingly relaxed and interesting.

In the last row of the classroom, the view was unobstructed.

Bai Jiang listened to the class happily, even taking out a notebook and writing notes with a rustle. “So nostalgic~ It’s been 20 years since I last attended Teacher’s class.”

As he wrote, he asked, “Dad, have you ever attended Teacher’s class?”

Bai Xinwen harrumphed. “A little.”

Bai Jiang, “Was it also in the small study where he tutored me?”

Beside them, He Zhenling, with his arms crossed, glanced over.

Bai Jiang seemed to sense it and turned his head. “What is it, President He? Didn’t Brother Teacher ever teach you in a study? ^▽^”

He Zhenling looked at him for two seconds and curved his lips. “No. At home, we only have a nursery.”

“—!”

The tip of the pen scratched across the notebook.

Bai Jiang looked over, trembling. Even Bai Xinwen, who was secretly observing, widened his eyes and turned his head. After a moment, Bai Jiang’s gaze was dark. “You… you’re not allowed to bully Teacher too much.”

Bully? He Zhenling raised an eyebrow.

He turned back, looking at the moon-colored figure below. His posture was slender and composed, a touch of brilliant red swayed as he turned his head, tugging at his sensitive nerves at every moment.

All eyes were focused on Lin Su.

Even in a public lecture like this, some students, for the first time ever, raised their hands with expectant gazes.

He said vaguely, “Perhaps.”

Bai Jiang glanced at him a few times, then harrumphed and turned his head back, continuing to take notes with gusto.

After the long lecture, it was already past four o’clock.

When the bell rang, Lin Su put down the chalk on time.

The classroom became noisy again. The students, still wanting more, packed up their things while talking. The classroom door was at the very top of the lecture hall, and a large wave of people surged up.

He Zhenling and the others sat without moving.

They only stood up after most of the students had left.

Looking down, they saw Lin Su still standing at the podium, surrounded by a few students asking questions.

Bai Jiang rushed down with a grin. “Teacher~”

The students turned their heads in surprise: …It’s President Bai!!

Bai Jiang nodded amiably to them, then said to Lin Su, “Are you still answering questions? Then I—” Before he could finish, he was grabbed by the scruff of his neck. Bai Xinwen had appeared behind him.

“You should go back to the association.”

Bai Jiang: QuQ

“Brother Lin, thank you for your hard work today. We’ll be leaving now.”

After speaking, Bai Xinwen dragged Bai Jiang away.

Lin Su withdrew his gaze with a sigh and continued to teach the young ones gathered around him.

After about ten minutes, he finally finished.

The students ran off with excited expressions.

Lin Su looked up and saw the familiar figure still waiting in the back row. He waved at him and mouthed:

Wait for me.

Then he turned to erase the writing on the blackboard.

A few students with their books headed for the exit at the top, and the classroom was now mostly empty. They walked up the steps, whispering and laughing:

“…He’s even better looking up close.”

“He probably doesn’t have a girlfriend, right? He’s so young.”

One girl bumped another with her arm and said jokingly, “What, you’re thinking of a student-teacher romance?”

“Wouldn’t that be so exciting! Hahahaha…”

The discussion swept past He Zhenling’s side, and they left the classroom in a few steps, their voices fading away.

His eyelashes fluttered as he looked down.

By now, the classroom was empty, leaving just the two of them, one at the top and one at the bottom, separated by an empty room.

The setting sun cast its light through the windows on one side of the classroom, falling in squares on the steps.

After a moment of silence, he stood up and walked down.

Lin Su was just erasing the last corner, revealing a section of his frost-white neck above his collar. He heard the footsteps and turned his head. “Sigh, you’re really impatient.”

He turned back. “Wait for me to finish this last bit…”

There was no response from behind him for a few seconds.

Just as he was about to turn back, a hand grasped his waist and pulled him back, pressing him “thud” against a chest.

His chalk-dusted fingertips trembled abruptly.

He Zhenling leaned in close to that nape. “Sleepy Teacher.”

His knuckles hooked the edge of the collar and pulled it down. The loose button suddenly came undone, and a kiss was planted just below his nape. “…My official title, when will you make it real?”
