FI CH46: The Bright-Eyed Accomplices
The Second Hospital was located between Xuncheng and the neighboring city.
The four of them took Lu Yanzhou’s car over.
The back seat of the car had been modified, with a spacious interior and long leather seats arranged facing each other.
Lin Su and He Zhenling sat on the same side.
The private car drove off, the streetscape receding behind them.
As Lin Su was examining the car’s convenient design with fresh eyes, a voice came over:
“You’re not wearing your artifact today?”
Lin Su turned his head and saw He Zhenling looking down closely at his earlobe. He raised a hand to pinch it. “I was just thinking of going out for a meal, so I didn’t wear it.”
He Zhenling frowned slightly.
Lin Su asked, “Are you wearing yours?”
The person beside him was silent for a second. “Mhm.”
He became thoughtful, his gaze slowly moving downwards… He Zhenling’s knuckles curled, and he looked straight at him. “What are you looking at?”
Lin Su averted his eyes. “Nuffin’.”
Opposite them, Chen Qiu observed secretly: Oh…| vo*)
…
The car stopped at the hospital entrance.
Lin Su got out of the car first. He looked up, scanning the entire hospital building, his gaze finally stopping precisely on a certain spot.
A voice came from behind: “It’s on the fifth floor.”
Turning his head, he saw Lu Yanzhou being pushed out of the car in his wheelchair, holding a luopan compass:
“There’s another person’s magnetic field.”
On the precise luopan, the needle was trembling violently. This was a situation that only occurred when the magnetic field was disturbed by an external force, and it clearly did not belong to Fang Shuyu.
Lin Su was intrigued. “Oh, it seems we’re not the only four visiting the sick.”
He saw that Chen Qiu had already pushed the wheelchair up and turned his head.
“Let’s go, I love a good crowd.”
They went up to the fifth floor of the hospital.
As they walked down the long corridor, the luopan’s reaction became more and more intense. Just as they turned a corner, a figure suddenly stood up and rushed towards them.
“Little Sir…!”
Fang Shuyu looked as if she had finally found her lifeline. The tension she had been holding in alone finally eased, and her hands began to tremble. Her teary eyes were bright and searing. “They’re inside, still trying to do something to the child…”
Lin Su turned his head to look inside the door. The faint sound of chanting, mixed with the clanging of a bell, could be heard from within.
“Don’t worry, it won’t be that fast.”
Fang Shuyu breathed a sigh of relief, then looked to the side. “And these are?”
Lin Su smiled. “My friends and family, you don’t mind if we visit the sick together, do you?”
The few people before her were all strikingly good-looking with extraordinary temperaments. Fang Shuyu wasn’t home the time Lu Yanzhou and the others came, but she could tell at a glance that their identities were not ordinary.
She nodded. “Please, feel free.”
Seeing Lin Su about to raise his hand to push the door, she immediately added, “Oh, right! The door is locked from the inside, it won’t open.”
Lin Su’s action paused. It won’t open?
He sighed lightly. “Then I can only resort to my old trick.”
He Zhenling, instantly alert, took half a step back.
Before the others could react, the door was kicked open with a “bang”! The clear sound of the bell and chanting from inside was abruptly cut off, pausing for a second before a voice came out:
“—Who!?”
Lin Su brushed off his clothes and walked in gracefully, coming face to face with the shocked and angry faces of Zhu Jianfei and the bald master.
He said friendly, “We’ve come to visit the sick, hi~”
Zhu Jianfei’s face twisted. “It’s you!? You…”
Wait, what did he mean by “we”?
The next moment, a figure walked out from behind Lin Su. Tall and with a cold and stern face, it was He Zhenling, whom he had met once before.
He Zhenling stood beside Lin Su, his cold gaze falling upon him.
His voice seemed to get stuck in his throat, his gaze darting back and forth. “You, you guys… why…”
Weren’t they a student and a school director?
Why would they appear at the same time, and at the same time in his hospital room!
Before Zhu Jianfei could figure it out, he heard a familiar rumbling sound. Following that, a young man with a clean face pushed the president of the Huicheng Association in.
Chen Qiu complained in a low voice, “Why did they use a table to block the door? It’s not easy to push the wheelchair in.”
He looked up after speaking and greeted, “Hi~”
Zhu Jianfei: “…”
Zhu Jianfei: “??????”
The four of them stood before him, bright-eyed.
Zhu Jianfei’s mouth hung open in astonishment, his expression changing again and again. Finally, he slowly figured it out, and pointed a finger in fury: “You, you’re all in this together—!!!”
Lin Su shook his head. “Don’t make it sound so ugly. We call this a team.”
Zhu Jianfei was trembling with anger.
A surge of anger rushed up, and his stomach cramped with pain again. He sucked in a cold breath, pointing a trembling finger while cursing:
“What a fine Tianshi Association! How dare you collude with each other! You just wait, I’m going to report you, report you to the inspection agency—”
After he finished, he saw that the people in front of him had all fallen silent at the same time.
The next second, He Zhenling, who had been leaning against the wall in silence since the beginning, looked up, took out a certificate from the inside of his jacket with one hand, and opened it.
At the top: [President of the Tianshi Inspection Association]
Zhu Jianfei: “?”
He Zhenling said lightly, “What do you want to report? Speak.”
“…”
Zhu Jianfei was struck by lightning! He was speechless for a long time.
He sat there, his face deathly pale. He Zhenling glanced at him. “Since you haven’t decided yet, let’s talk about something else first.”
As he spoke, his gaze shifted, landing on a figure trying to sneak away along the wall.
The bald master’s face had changed the moment he saw the inspection certificate. Now, meeting He Zhenling’s gaze, his heart skipped a beat, and he turned to try another escape route.
He Zhenling wasn’t carrying his saber. Just as he was about to raise a hand—
A shadow was faster.
Swoosh!
The ink-jade bamboo brush shot through the air.
It went straight through the collar of the bald master’s robe, carrying a great force that slammed him against the wall behind! The back of his shiny bald head hit the wall hard:
“Ugh, ah…!”
Several gazes turned in unison.
Lin Su spread his hands. “Ah, my hand slipped.”
“…”
He walked over and pulled out the brush.
The bald master was terrified by him and subconsciously pressed himself against the wall. “What are you going to do?”
“It’s not what I’m going to do, it’s what you should do.”
“What?”
Lin Su looked at Fang Shuyu in the corridor, then turned his head back. The corner of his eye lifted in a sharp arc:
“Shouldn’t you kowtow and apologize to the victim?”
The bald master held his breath for a few seconds, then squeezed out a few muffled words from between his teeth, “…Are, are you kidding me.” After speaking, he violently pushed Lin Su aside! He aimed for the gap in the aisle and dashed.
He was only focused on running and didn’t notice that as he rushed past, He Zhenling and Chen Qiu, who was pushing the wheelchair, both made way at the same time.
Just as he was about to reach Fang Shuyu, his feet suddenly seemed to trip.
Then with a “thud,” he fell to his knees.
He prostrated himself before her, his face filled with horror.
Fang Shuyu looked hatefully at the culprit kneeling before her, biting her lip as a tear finally fell.
“Ah… how…!”
The bald man twisted, trying to struggle to his feet.
Lin Su held the brush and pointed from a distance. “First kowtow—”
A great force, like Mount Tai pressing down. Before the bald master could react, he bent over and kowtowed to Fang Shuyu, bang!
Lin Su: “Second kowtow—”
Another loud, dull thud.
The bald master’s forehead was purplish-red. He propped himself up on the ground with a low roar, pulling out a talisman to rise up violently. Lin Su’s sharp gaze fell, and he squinted: ? What was that movement.
The blue veins on the back of his slender white hand bulged. He pressed down hard. “Third kowtow—”
The writhing figure slammed hard onto the ground.
Facing Fang Shuyu, his forehead touched the ground. A solid, muffled “thump” was heard.
Even Fang Shuyu was startled: !
Then the heavy body fell to the ground in a faint.
Lin Su: “…”
He released his hand: Ah, I wasn’t wearing my earring, I didn’t control my strength well.
He walked over and squatted down, silently staring at the fainted bald man.
Seeing this, Chen Qiu at the side also ran over, squatted down, and poked him a bit:
“Benefactor, why isn’t he moving at all?”
Lin Su flipped him over with a pat. “…He probably fell asleep.”
Lu Yanzhou: “…”
He Zhenling: “…”
Lin Su was unwilling to let it go. “What a pity, he only kowtowed three times.”
Xuenima spat in contempt: [What a useless thing.]
Fang Shuyu said, “…It’s okay, the last one was worth ten.” She paused, then added, “And even if he kowtowed ten thousand times, I would never forgive him.”
Lin Su nodded and stood up.
The moment he stood up, a wave of dizziness hit him. His face turned pale, and he took half a step back.
Thump, his back leaned against something warm.
A hand supported his waist, steadying him. A jolt of electricity shot from where their backs were touching. Lin Su’s shoulder trembled, and he turned to look.
The next moment, his waist was grabbed and pulled away.
He Zhenling looked down at him, his thin lips moving slightly, a single word faintly discernible as it slipped from his lips: Reckless.
Lin Su: “…”
He supported himself against the wall and straightened up slightly. “You have to understand, people have moments where they occasionally lose control.”
He Zhenling’s gaze fell, and he pulled at his lips. “Perhaps.”
One of the main culprits had been subdued.
Fang Shuyu finally no longer needed to pretend. She wept in sorrow, “Little Sir, the child… can he still be saved?”
Lin Su said, “I’ll go take a look.”
He turned around, and the hand on his waist was released. He paused his steps and turned his head. He Zhenling had withdrawn his hand and put it back in his pocket, his gaze seemingly indifferent: What?
Lin Su sighed lightly and turned back: Damn it, I didn’t even notice, he supported me for five minutes.
Xuenima floated over: [I noticed, but you seemed to be enjoying it, so I didn’t say anything.]
“…” Lin Su said seriously: You saw wrong.
He walked to Zhu Jianfei’s bed. The latter had long since become as quiet as a quail when the bald master was pinned to the wall.
Now, seeing Lin Su, he was startled. “What are you going to do!”
Lin Su didn’t answer him, but looked at his stomach.
Zhu Jianfei was both shocked and scared. His gaze shifted to Fang Shuyu who had followed, and he immediately cursed angrily, “I knew it… you bitch… ah!!”
At the side, Lu Yanzhou looped a red string around his knuckles and flicked. His voice was drowned out by a scream.
Lin Su ignored the writhing Zhu Jianfei and, with a bamboo brush in hand, drew a circle towards his stomach. A hazy shadow seemed to break through his belly and slowly emerge.
Zhu Jianfei immediately broke out in a cold sweat and began to roll around.
Unfortunately, his screams were tightly sealed within the room, and no medical staff heard them.
Lin Su said unhurriedly, “You’ve only experienced it for a short while, what are you yelling about.” He said softly, “Don’t rush, come out slowly…”
“Ah!!! You mother… ah!”
After a moment, a small shadow finally emerged.
Lin Su turned to Fang Shuyu and said, “Go back and prepare a cenotaph. He has been trapped for too long.” He paused, then added, “But I will send him for reincarnation. Wait for my news next week.”
Fang Shuyu covered her face and burst into tears. “Mr. Lin… thank you.”
With the small soul in tow, Lin Su prepared to leave.
Zhu Jianfei was still rolling on the bed, looking at his own stomach and shouting, “You took it all away, why hasn’t it gone down!? Ah… it hurts so much—”
He finally remembered something and raised his hand to slam the call bell.
Lu Yanzhou’s lips curved slightly. His fingertip moved again, and he turned his head silently.
The group left the hospital room.
Kong Fu had appeared out of nowhere again and quietly took away the fainted bald man.
The door clicked shut behind them.
Leaving only Zhu Jianfei inside, seeking death alone.
The bald man was thrown into the Inspection Association.
Lin Su believed that with He Zhenling’s methods, there were plenty of ways to make someone’s life worse than death.
As for Zhu Jianfei, he would be dealt with after Fang Shuyu had vented her hatred.
He first placed the little dumpling with the Black and White Impermanence. The two figures were excitedly teasing the child in their arms. He spoke, “Find a way to squeeze out a spot for reincarnation.”
The two figures in front of him froze.
Lin Su said gently, “Also, he’s still young, don’t take him to parties in your courtyard.”
White Impermanence let out a whimper, “…Ooh.”
Xuenima exclaimed in amazement: [He really had that intention!]
Lin Su had everything under control, his expression knowing.
…
The weekend was spent busily like this.
When he arrived at school on Monday, he learned from Chen You that there had also been a bloodbath online.
“You didn’t even look!?”
Chen You was shocked, then quickly pulled out his phone to show him. “Remember the entrepreneur from the last exposé? There’s a rumor that his name is Zhu Jiancheng, the boss of Chengming Group. The internet was already full of curses, but look—”
The phone was handed over. It was a deep dive spontaneously conducted by the rebellious microscope-wielding netizens:
—Didn’t they say the entrepreneur was cursed before? But on Chengming Group’s official website, they posted photos of the boss and employees on a team-building trip during those days. [Image]
—What the hell, I’m a company employee, our company is peaceful and harmonious every day, okay? [slams table]
—Who hasn’t seen this video yet! It shocked my whole family! [Video]
Lin Su didn’t even click on it, he could see from the thumbnail that it was the familiar villa area. The comments below were, as expected, a neat row of: Holy crap!
—It went viral in the group chats a few days ago! The one in the video is the boss of Jianda Group, Zhu Jianfei.
—To be honest, this looks more like being possessed.
—Jianda Group? Heh, hehe… I suggest everyone search for this company’s reputation.
—Who doesn’t know that the core team of Jianda Group was taken from Chengming Group?
—What! As expected of Jianda (Build-Build-Da). [hehe]
—Thoroughly investigate Jianda Group!!!
…
Chen You poked his finger, as if presenting a huge piece of gossip, and opened the video for him to see:
“You have to watch this! It really shocked me. Who would have thought that he was harassing students just half a month ago, and now he’s being sent to the hospital with a big belly.”
The familiar video was playing again from a different angle.
As he played it, Chen You said, “Although it hasn’t been confirmed which entrepreneur it is, Zhu Jianfei has already gone viral.”
Lin Su cooperatively watched it again.
For this matter to have spread so widely, besides the exceptionally powerful netizens, there must have been some push from business rivals.
As for Chengming Group…
He recalled the date the team-building photos were posted on the official website. Zhu Jiancheng must have been prepared. Since he hadn’t made a statement yet, he was probably waiting for a big move.
Just as he was thinking, a head suddenly popped up in front of him.
Chen You stared suspiciously. “Are you watching? Why does it feel like your eyes aren’t focused?”
“…”
Lin Su pulled back his thoughts and blinked. “I’m watching. I’m just watching it from a more macro perspective.”
“?” Chen You: 6.
Not even two days had passed.
Lin Su was dining on the rooftop when his phone vibrated. He picked it up and saw a message from Lu Yanzhou pop up: [Web Link] O▽O
He stared at the emoji for a second, analyzing it: …Very good, it’s Ah Qiu.
He clicked on the link and saw a super comprehensive compilation.
At the very top was a large lawyer’s letter. Chengming Group had sued the person who had previously “claimed” to be a former employee of the company for “slander and defamation.”
The heat had been fermenting for the past few days, so the sentence would probably not be light.
Below that was a detailed report on the history of Jianda Group’s rise, including the fact that the two were brothers.
The netizens immediately erupted in angry curses:
—A real-life version of the farmer and the snake!
—Your brother opens his heart to you, and you stab your brother in the heart!?
—Actually, Chengming Group’s reputation is really good. Everyone should pay more attention to this company.
—That scumbag boss is completely finished, right? Now I can say it with confidence. This old pervert is really low. He used to threaten to harass students at our school by donating a building. We’re still high school students…
—Damn, so disgusting.
—Pervert! Report him to the relevant authorities quickly—
…
However, before the netizens could send him away, at the end of the compilation, it was shown that Chengming Group had already reported him.
From illegal business operations to embezzlement of public funds, every single case had complete evidence. The members of the core team involved, including Zhu Jianfei himself, had now been taken away for investigation.
Lin Su scrolled through it. “Such complete evidence, it must have been submitted by Fang Shuyu.”
Xuenima: [So this was her revenge plan!]
“One of them, I guess.”
Lin Su closed his phone. “As for the child’s part, it should be settled this week.”
Xuenima: [●`皿’●] Heh!
A hand rubbed its expression away. “Don’t mimic Ah Qiu on your face.”
[…Jiji!]
…
Public opinion online had reversed.
With the joint efforts of Fang Shuyu and her brother-in-law, all the evil deeds Zhu Jianfei had done in the past were completely exposed.
While they were dealing with the company’s affairs over there.
Here, Lin Su was also preparing to go to the association to apply for the case to be closed.
Including the Sanqing Weir case from before, this was only his second time taking a commission from the association. The rating of the commission was basically decided by the branch president and uploaded to the system after the case was closed.
After school on Friday, he went straight to the association.
As he entered the office, he happened to run into Ge Lili and Shu Yang. Ge Lili turned and saw him:
“Sir, why are you here!”
Lin Su took out his Tianshi certificate. “I’m here to apply to close the case.”
“Oh, right, right.” Ge Lili immediately took it and had Shu Yang scan it. “It just so happens that President Meng is also here today, so it can be sent directly to him.”
Lin Su nodded, then speculated, “…Are you here playing cards again?”
Ge Lili sighed, “How could I? The president is here.”
“…” Meaning he could play cards if the president wasn’t here.
He stared at Ge Lili silently: Compared to having a party, you haven’t restrained yourself much either.
As he was silent, he suddenly heard a “Eh?” from the side.
Turning his head, he saw Shu Yang clicking the mouse. “Why can’t I send it to the president? I’ve already refreshed.” He scanned the Tianshi certificate again. “Still not working?”
Lin Su peeked over. “Is the internet lagging?”
Shu Yang stared at the screen. “Probably not, the game I have running in the background is quite smooth.”
He paused. “…Ah.”
Lin Su: “…”
Xuenima praised: [This office is really full of fun.]
Shu Yang embarrassedly changed the subject. “I’ll send a message to the president and have him take a look. Please sit and wait for a while.”
Lin Su dragged a stool over. “Let me see the game.”
Shu Yang: “?”
The message had already been sent.
The two of them shamelessly opened the game. Just as Lin Su was novelty exploring Shu Yang’s happy planet, the sound of footsteps came from outside, hurrying over.
Accompanied by a cry of, “Little Friend Lin!”
Shu Yang quickly returned to the desktop.
Lin Su looked up and saw Meng Yuanping striding in from the doorway, holding a form. When he saw Lin Su, his eyes lit up, and he didn’t even bother to catch his breath.
“It’s not a system problem.”
He walked over in a few steps. “It just came down. Headquarters personally sent the rating!”
__
Author’s Note:
Meng Yuanping (excited): It’s from headquarters!
Su: …so?
