GBROTAH CH77
Shen Bianye sat on the sofa, utterly dejected. The living room lights were off, and his surroundings were dim, just like his life.
He had always, if not had a perfectly smooth life, been the center of attention.
People who dared to offend him were so few they were practically non-existent. Even Shen Zheng had to endure a scolding or two from him.
Aside from a life-threatening pheromone disorder, Shen Bianye had never been so defeated in his life.
He.
Just now.
Was slapped by Xie Yuanxing.
He should have been angry. No matter how he thought about it, he should have been angry. Even if the heavens themselves had come down, he should have been angry.
Where was his fire?
Where was his rage?
What the hell! That sentence “Baby, don’t hate me” actually came out of his mouth!
Damn it! Who was afraid of being hated by Xie Yuanxing?!
Shen Bianye couldn’t sleep. The more he thought about it, the more frantic he became. He simply called Zhou Chao. “Let me ask you, am I really married to Xie Yuanxing?”
Zhou Chao sullenly glanced at the time—two in the morning. “Absolutely true.”
“You two started dating in your sophomore year. You got married after Xie Yuanxing was accepted into graduate school, and now Xie Yuanxing is in his second year of his master’s program.”
“At the wedding, you drank too much, and you were holding Xie Yuanxing and telling everyone you saw that this was your star baby, that your star baby was so handsome and beautiful today, and that we should all take a good look.”
As he spoke, Zhou Chao let out a truly heartfelt sigh. “Damn, what a lunatic.”
Shen Bianye flew into a rage out of humiliation and boomed, “You’re full of shit!”
“You know very well whether you’re making it up or exaggerating.”
Zhou Chao let out a cold laugh and hung up the phone with a smack.
The non-amnesiac Shen Bianye would know very well whether it was fact or fact.
If it was a fact, it was a fact. He was too lazy to argue with a patient who’d hit his head.
Zhou Chao could barely keep his eyes open. He struggled to find Xie Yuanxing’s contact. He didn’t know if Xie Yuanxing was asleep, but he’d send the message first:
“Someone is disturbing the peace by calling at two in the morning. Could the guardian please discipline them?”
The amnesiac Shen Bianye’s memory was stuck in his sophomore year, so calling Xie Yuanxing the guardian was perfectly fine.
He didn’t call Xie Yuanxing. Firstly, compared to a shameless friend like Shen Bianye, he had a bit of a conscience. Secondly, if the phone was on silent, calling would be pointless.
Zhou Chao’s phone was actually on do-not-disturb at night, but Shen Bianye was on his list of designated contacts, so silent mode was useless.
Just as he sent the message to Xie Yuanxing, two new messages suddenly popped up on his own phone.
Shen Bianye: “How do you know so much about Xie Yuanxing? You even know when he was accepted into graduate school?”
Zhou Chao took a deep breath, opened the voice message function, and sent a roar more resentful than a ghost’s:
“You damn well forced a celebration after Xie Yuanxing got into graduate school!! You dragged us all along and made us give gifts! How could I not damn well know?!!”
Shen Bianye looked at the long voice message and tapped to convert it to text.
As he was reading, another person appeared in his peripheral vision.
Shen Bianye’s brow immediately furrowed. “Why aren’t you sleeping either?”
It had been two hours since he had left Xie Yuanxing’s room.
“Did I wake you?” There was some apology in his eyes, but his mouth said, “You’re so high-maintenance. Your sleep is so light. You can’t have the air conditioner on at night, and I wake you up by talking in a room two doors down?”
“The Princess and the Pea couldn’t sleep on dozens of mattresses because of one pea. Your level of delicacy is not much different.”
He raised an eyebrow. “What, are you a princess too?”
“Do you need someone to serve you as well?”
Xie Yuanxing ignored his words and asked him the same question, “Why aren’t you sleeping?”
Shen Bianye was injured and had amnesia. He found it a little hard to sleep, but he hadn’t expected to receive a message from Zhou Chao.
Shen Bianye was still a patient, and a patient needed proper rest.
Shen Bianye sneered, “The one married to you isn’t me.”
“You’re being too nosy, Xie Yuanxing.”
Xie Yuanxing looked at him, not angered by these words, but said calmly, “Zhou Chao sent me a message.”
“What I want to say is, if you’re not sleeping, don’t disturb others’ sleep either.”
Shen Bianye frowned, unconcealed annoyance in his words. “You’re concerned about him?”
“I had no idea you were so eager to care about my friends.”
It was past two in the morning. It was getting late. Xie Yuanxing was a bit tired of listening and also wanted Shen Bianye to get some rest.
He chose the simplest method. “Do you want to kiss me?”
Shen Bianye was dumbfounded.
For a moment, Shen Bianye’s mind buzzed. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
Regardless of whether his non-amnesiac self was married to Xie Yuanxing, the current Shen Bianye was just a sophomore student. In his perception—
He had only known Xie Yuanxing for three days.
And their relationship had only deteriorated over these three days. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say they couldn’t stand the sight of each other.
Now, Xie Yuanxing was asking him, asking a stranger who was his enemy, if he wanted to kiss him?!
Shen Bianye’s expression was priceless, his voice rising several pitches. “Are you crazy?”
“To me, you’re just a stranger I’ve known for three days, and you’re asking me if I want to kiss you?”
“Who do you think would be interested in… you… this… gloomy…”
As he spoke, Xie Yuanxing slowly undid the first, then the second button of his shirt, pulling the collar aside.
Shen Bianye’s voice gradually faded away into the sight of Xie Yuanxing’s clear, beautiful collarbone.
Xie Yuanxing was rarely this forward. The tips of his ears were slightly hot.
The expression on his face was calm. His chin was slightly raised, and his long, fair fingers held the collar, lightly tapping his collarbone. “Here. You can leave a hickey.”
The scales in Shen Bianye’s mind were teetering, his reason being pulled and stretched on a steel cable.
To him, Xie Yuanxing was just a roommate he had known for three days.
Always with his head down, as gloomy as a mushroom in a corner.
Unlikable and with a strange temper.
Why should he eagerly lean in to kiss Xie Yuanxing’s collarbone?
This was too strange.
But Xie Yuanxing said they were married… a kiss would be normal if they were married…
No, the one married to Xie Yuanxing wasn’t the current him… He had no memory at all, he couldn’t possibly put himself in that position…
So the one he would be kissing was still a gloomy roommate he had known for only three days.
Shen Bianye stared at Xie Yuanxing, and in the faint moonlight, he looked at Xie Yuanxing’s fair face, at the tear mole under his eye, at his beautiful, clear collarbone.
Wait…
Xie Yuanxing didn’t seem so gloomy anymore…
If Xie Yuanxing wasn’t gloomy, then they could still have a good roommate relationship.
Kissing a very good roommate was nothing.
It happened all the time in male dorms. It was normal.
If he were the one initiating the kiss, that would be quite rude.
But now, it was Xie Yuanxing who wanted him to kiss him…
He didn’t really want to kiss him, but if it was to fulfill the wish of a very good roommate…
It wasn’t entirely out of the question.
After careful consideration, Shen Bianye nodded. His Adam’s apple bobbed unnaturally as he said in a hoarse voice, “I do.”
Xie Yuanxing waited for two or three seconds for his answer, but as Shen Bianye approached, he retreated. “Not now.”
Shen Bianye stared intently at Xie Yuanxing, at that stretch of fair, beautiful collarbone, his eyes unconsciously filled with a bit more agitation. “Then when?”
His eyes were dark as he stared at Xie Yuanxing. “Are you playing with me?”
“You were the one who asked me first, Xie Yuanxing.”
He couldn’t help but move closer again, his breath hot and scorching, his pheromones unknowingly spreading through the air, anxious and craving. “You can’t do this, Xie Yuanxing.”
The next second, “You can’t go back on your word, baby.”
Xie Yuanxing pursed his lips. “You have to serve me to bed. Only then.”
Shen Bianye vaguely felt that something was wrong, but that sliver of reason didn’t allow him to refuse. He gritted his teeth and said, “Fine. How do I serve you to bed?”
Xie Yuanxing had already washed up. He couldn’t possibly be asking him to give him a bath in the middle of the night, could he?
…It wasn’t impossible.
It was hot in the summer, and people sweat a lot. What if Xie Yuanxing just wanted to wash up?
It wasn’t that he was eager to serve Xie Yuanxing a bath. It was just that he had already agreed, and backing out now would make him look like a sore loser.
Xie Yuanxing extended his hand towards him, like a cat with its tail held high in arrogance. “Just carry me to bed.”
Shen Bianye’s expression changed. He tried to look relieved, but his face fell. “That’s it?”
Though he said “that’s it,” when he stood in front of Xie Yuanxing, he suddenly didn’t know how to begin.
He had given people piggyback rides and carried them on his shoulders more than once.
In middle school, he got a distress call from Zhou Chao, barged into his house, confronted his father, and carried Zhou Chao, who had been beaten so badly he couldn’t even crawl, to the car.
In high school, he had carried a classmate who had fainted while running and a hapless guy who had been hit in the leg by a shot put.
During a reckless adventure into a no-man’s-land after high school graduation, he had carried Lu Qiang, who was suffering from heatstroke, for eight kilometers to find a doctor.
But he had never carried someone in his arms before.
Xie Yuanxing was different from those people. He was more delicate, more fragile. He couldn’t be carried on his back; he could only be held.
Carefully, as if holding a fragile, beautiful crystal ball.
Shen Bianye’s hands went under Xie Yuanxing’s knees, and he picked him up horizontally in a standard princess carry.
Xie Yuanxing’s face rested against his chest. His soft cheek rubbed against him, like a cat nuzzling its human.
The corners of his lips curled up, like a somewhat smug peacock. “I’m not a princess, but you can still serve me.”
Shen Bianye was speechless.
It felt a bit like he was being retaliated against.
But the person in his arms was slender and soft, and his face was nuzzling his heart.
Since he was acting cute, he would forgive Xie Yuanxing this time.
Shen Bianye placed Xie Yuanxing on the bed and pulled the blanket up for him. Just as he was about to speak, Xie Yuanxing tilted his head and invited him, “Let’s sleep together.”
In front of the bed, the tall man stood silently for half a minute, then lifted the blanket and lay down.
Xie Yuanxing reached out and turned off the bedside lamp. The bedroom was instantly plunged into darkness.
In the darkness, Xie Yuanxing spoke, “Good night.”
His voice was soft, and it was another term of endearment. No one knew that the corners of his lips were slightly upturned, in a mischievous way.
Shen Bianye was speechless.
He was silent for a moment, then said in a low tone, “Xie Yuanxing.”
There was no answer. The person beside him seemed to have fallen asleep.
Shen Bianye turned over and propped himself up. The tall figure completely enveloped the person beneath him, his shadow dark, like an obscure, sticky swamp. Once touched, there was no escape.
“I’ve already served you, Xie Yuanxing.”
Shen Bianye spoke again. The room was silent, with only light, shallow breathing.
In the dark bedroom, his voice became strange and sticky. “I served you, baby.”
“You should give me my reward.”
A large, well-defined hand caressed Xie Yuanxing’s face. Shen Bianye’s eyes were dangerous and excited. “If baby won’t give it, I’ll take it myself.”
He buried his head, obsessively kissing that fair collarbone. Rosy red kiss marks slowly appeared, winding their way down.
The strange pleasure of his nipple being taken into a hot, wet mouth finally made the person pretending to be asleep let out a short, uncontrolled moan.
Shen Bianye licked his lips and sighed with deep regret, “Ah, baby, you’re awake.”
Everyone knew that no one in this room was asleep.
But he just had to say—you’re awake.
