ASPWL Ch106: End

“I didn’t expect… the person he’d fall for at first sight would actually be Ling Feng.”

The gathering last night lasted until 5 a.m., and only when the morning light spread across the sky did the drunken group finally return to their hotel rooms.

Qin Yao didn’t drink much, and after receiving the plot prompt, Ye Leyao stopped drinking, so the two of them were the clearest-headed among the group.

After the others returned to the hotel, Ye Leyao took Qin Yao to find Ling Feng and Cao Qu.

After what happened yesterday, both Ling Feng and Cao Qu had taken leave from the production. Since Huo Jing had informed the director in advance, the director was very understanding and told them to deal with it before returning to the set.

So, at this time, neither of them were at the production.

Ye Leyao checked the location and was surprised. “They’re actually at a bar, and even at the same one!”

Qin Yao exchanged a glance with Ye Leyao. “It’s already daylight, and they’re still at the bar?”

In the blink of an eye, they arrived at the destination. To avoid drawing attention, Ye Leyao and Qin Yao cloaked themselves.

In the next moment, they were at the bar’s entrance.

In the early morning, there weren’t many people left around the bar. Just as Qin Yao was about to lead Ye Leyao inside, Ye Leyao tugged on his hand. “Over there.”

Qin Yao followed Ye Leyao’s gaze and saw two figures sitting by the roadside not far away.

As they got closer, they overheard a hoarse voice: “I… I didn’t expect things would turn out like this. Tang Yan… don’t be upset; it’s already happened; we can only look forward now.”

Ling Feng was clearly drunk, his voice rough, and his eyes were red and swollen.

Cao Qu looked even worse; his eyes were swollen like walnuts and tears were still falling. “I know… but I just…”

Hearing his sobs, Ling Feng felt restless. He turned his head to meet Cao Qu’s bloodshot eyes, with two streaks of hot tears running down his face.

To be honest, both of them were good-looking male celebrities in the entertainment industry.

Although Cao Qu looked particularly disheveled at the moment, his face was still attractive and even looked somewhat pitiful.

So, even though Ling Feng had comforted him countless times already, upon seeing Cao Qu’s face, he couldn’t help but feel a bit more patient.

Ling Feng didn’t have any tissue left, but he still extended his hand and gently wiped away the tears from the corner of Cao Qu’s eye.

Ye Leyao’s eyes suddenly widened. “Could it be…”

In the next second, Cao Qu suddenly seemed flustered, then turned his face away.

Ye Leyao and Qin Yao exchanged a look, and both saw the shock in each other’s eyes.

So, Cao Qu had fallen for Ling Feng at first sight?

If that’s the case, then the plotline still works!

After all, the original plot had Cao Qu falling for someone else after being dumped.

Since Zhang Qiran already had a partner, Cao Qu could hardly be with him, and they weren’t close anyway. But Ling Feng—

It seemed they had spent the entire night drinking together at the bar!

Qin Yao suddenly chuckled lightly. “This works too.”

Ye Leyao nodded in agreement.

After confirming that the last plotline was correct, Ye Leyao was about to return to the main system.

After leaving the bar, Ye Leyao removed the invisibility cloak on him and Qin Yao, and they headed back to Qin Yao’s place.

“Then, President Qin, please wait for me…”

Qin Yao tightly grasped Ye Leyao’s hand, suddenly interrupting him. “Can’t I go with you?”

Ye Leyao was just about to explain when he noticed the worry in Qin Yao’s eyes.

A wave of soreness surged in his chest as Ye Leyao sharply sensed Qin Yao’s emotions—
He was feeling uneasy.

For Ye Leyao, the main system was where he was created, and it could be considered his home.
But for Qin Yao, it was a distant and unattainable place.

After a long separation, the two had just been reunited, and now, after only two days, Ye Leyao was about to leave again.

It was no surprise that Qin Yao was anxious.

It was as if the softest part of his heart had been poked.

Ye Leyao reached up, pulled Qin Yao into a gentle embrace, and kissed him on the lips. “President Qin, I’ll only be there for a little while.”

Qin Yao’s long, dense lashes fluttered down, concealing the emotions in his eyes. “I’ll accompany you.”

Ye Leyao smiled slightly, giving him another kiss. “I need to go confirm the plot of the A20231007 world, then I’ll shut down the small world.”

Qin Yao’s lashes seemed to tremble. “And then?”

“Once I shut it down, I’ll come back to be with you,” Ye Leyao said, staring at Qin Yao’s lips. His lips were well-shaped—not too thin, nor too thick. Ye Leyao gave him a light kiss, then added, “Only when the small world is completely shut down and I exchange for a human identity with the main system can I stay here with you forever.”

“Qin Yao…”

Qin Yao’s large hand wrapped around Ye Leyao’s waist. Just as Ye Leyao was about to kiss him again, Qin Yao took a small step back. “Only half a day?”

Ye Leyao’s brows curved with a smile. “Of course! Or should I bid farewell to my single brother?”

Qin Yao gazed deeply at Ye Leyao.

In Ye Leyao’s eyes, there was nothing but sincerity.

Actually, it wouldn’t take half a day, but Ye Leyao still needed to say goodbye to Qiu and L2, so he added a little extra time.

To stay in this world, L1 system had to trade itself.

Ye Leyao had thought about this before, but after all, losing it would be a lifetime commitment, so he needed to think it through carefully.

“Alright?”

Qin Yao tightly embraced Ye Leyao, so Ye Leyao felt at ease to release him, reaching up to rub Qin Yao’s face.

The man tilted his head slightly and nuzzled Ye Leyao’s palm.

Qin Yao said, “Alright.”

“But Leyao, if you’re not back by 2 p.m., I won’t make you oatmeal milk today… no, for the entire week,” Qin Yao said.

Ye Leyao’s eyes widened in surprise. “You don’t trust me!”

Qin Yao laughed lightly. “I trust you.”
It’s precisely because he trusted him that Qin Yao wanted Ye Leyao to return as quickly as possible.

The man most skilled at waiting, Qin Yao, still couldn’t wait forever.

Ye Leyao gazed into Qin Yao’s eyes and exchanged a lingering kiss with him.

“Qin Yao, wait for me to come back.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, Ye Leyao’s figure gradually faded.
The next moment, Qin Yao’s embrace was empty.

Ye Leyao had already left.

……

Main System.

As soon as Ye Leyao left the A20231007 small world, the control panel of the main system popped up, asking if he wanted to finalize the sealing of the small world.

Ye Leyao didn’t click confirm right away, because if he did, the A20231007 small world would immediately be sealed, and Ye Leyao wouldn’t be able to return.

So, before confirming that the small world’s plot was complete, Ye Leyao had to visit the main system and say goodbye to Qiu and L2.

But before Ye Leyao could set off, he heard a distant voice calling out, “L1, so you know how to come back now!”

The voice, unceremonious and somewhat displeased, was unmistakably L2.

Ye Leyao turned around with a smile and saw an orange cat charging toward him at full speed. Ye Leyao instinctively opened his arms, and the orange ball of fur jumped into his embrace, quickly climbing to his head and grumpily yelling, “You actually know how to come back?! Do you know how long I’ve been waiting for you?! You heartless system!”

Ye Leyao reached up and gently rubbed the cat’s fluffy head, smiling. “How about I apologize to you?”

“Hmph! Just an apology?!” L2 responded aggressively.

Ye Leyao said, “Then, should I give you the five thousand bottles of life potions left in my system space?”

L2 snorted. “I don’t care about that… huh? Wait, what did you say?”

Ye Leyao laughed as he gently took L2 off his head.

The round cat eyes stared at Ye Leyao in shock. “How much did you say?”

Ye Leyao said, “I just counted them. Not too many, not too few—exactly five thousand bottles. Qiu no longer needs to oversee the small world, so it’s perfect for you.”

L2: “Five, five thousand bottles!”

Ye Leyao: “Yes, all for you.”

L2: “Ahhhhhh—”

In the next moment, the orange cat jumped out of Ye Leyao’s arms and bounced off toward Qiu, shouting as it ran, “Bad news, Qiu! Qiu! Bad news! Our L1 is about to be taken away by a human, woo woo woo!”

Ye Leyao smiled helplessly but followed L2’s steps.

Qiu, upon hearing L2’s dramatic crying, merely smiled lightly, not surprised in the least.

She reached out and gently scooped the orange cat into her arms, soothing it by rubbing its head.

L2 continued to cry in vain.

Ye Leyao had already approached Qiu.

“Are you alright?” Qiu asked.

Ye Leyao smiled and nodded. “Yes, I’m fine.”

Qiu’s black eyes quietly studied Ye Leyao.

Ye Leyao, feeling a little shy under her gaze, asked, “Why are you looking at me like that?”

Qiu smiled and shook her head before saying, “I just find it strange. I never thought that the system who once knew nothing about emotions, who even thought of humans as ants, would one day willingly become an ant for a human.”

“Wasn’t it you who suggested I learn about them?” Ye Leyao didn’t show any anger or discomfort; in fact, his lips even curled into a faint smile. “I guess I was too arrogant back then.”

Qiu spoke gently as always: “Different experiences create different understandings. Back then, you were just a system with no knowledge of the human world, so it wasn’t arrogance. It was simply the understanding that your experiences had given you.”

She paused for a moment, then continued, “I’m happy that you’ve found a way of life that suits you.”

Ye Leyao smiled. “Thank you, Qiu.”

Qiu shook her head. “No need to thank me. I should be the one thanking you.”

Ye Leyao looked confused. “Hmm?”

Qiu, however, smiled and didn’t say anything further. Instead, she changed the subject: “Time is running out. Have you decided what to exchange with the main system?”

Ye Leyao replied, “During the second restart, I met a helper system. His name is Bai Yu. After my first restart, he chose to exchange his voice with the main system.”

“Looks like you’re ready,” Qiu smiled.

Ye Leyao nodded earnestly.

No system would be foolish enough to exchange its eyesight, and Ye Leyao still needed his hands and legs, so in the end, the only thing left to exchange was his voice.

Qiu said, “Then hurry up.”

At that moment, L2 finally spoke again: “L1, you—”

Ye Leyao turned back to look at him.

The man’s features were exceptionally handsome, with curved brows and eyes full of smiles.

L2 had long since understood emotions.

Thus, he could immediately tell that the expression on L1’s face at that moment was one of “expectation.”

He was anticipating the future and the beginning of a human life.

L2 understood.

He knew he couldn’t hold him back any longer.

So, L2 changed the subject: “Five thousand bottles…”

Ye Leyao couldn’t help but laugh. “I’ve already given them to you, including the remaining points. These things, I have to thank you.”

Ye Leyao then turned to look at Qiu. “I gave all the five thousand bottles of life potions to L2. You…”

“I don’t need them,” Qiu said with a smile.

Ye Leyao nodded in relief and then, with a carefree wave of his hand, quickly headed toward the main system.

The main system wouldn’t stop a system’s decision, so even though it knew it was about to lose one of its best overseers, it didn’t take any countermeasures.

After submitting the form, Ye Leyao reopened the A20231007 world.

“After I leave…”

“It will be taken over by Qiu,” a line of text appeared before Ye Leyao.

Ye Leyao nodded, said no more, and bid farewell to Qiu and L2 before heading without hesitation toward the small world.

His figure moved quickly, like a dazzling star in the vast data space of the universe.

Ye Leyao rushed toward the distant future, toward the happy life that awaited him.

Qin Yao.

Qin Hongxi was heading downstairs early in the morning to go to work. Just as he stepped down, he saw an unexpected figure.

“Why are you back? Where’s Xiao Yao?” Qin Hongxi asked.

Qin Yao was sitting on the sofa, silent.

Qin Hongxi glanced at the servants to ensure they had left before walking over and asking, “Did you two argue?”

Qin Yao looked particularly helpless. “No,” he paused before adding, “He went back.”

Qin Yao didn’t specify where Ye Leyao had gone, but Qin Hongxi instantly understood.

“So, he…”

“He said he’ll be back in the afternoon. He asked me to wait for him at home,” Qin Yao said.

Qin Hongxi was a little puzzled. “Since Xiao Yao said he would be back, why are you worried?”

Qin Yao couldn’t explain it either.

Maybe it was because their separation had been too long, making him overly anxious.

He even wished he could always be by Ye Leyao’s side.

Qin Hongxi patted Qin Yao’s shoulder: “He always keeps his word.”

Qin Yao nodded slightly.

Qin Hongxi quickly got up and headed out.

Qin Yao sat in silence for a moment, then went upstairs.

Even though Ye Leyao hadn’t returned for two days, the flowers on the balcony were still being tended to.

Qin Yao knew that Ye Leyao liked roses, so he took a pair of scissors and trimmed a large bouquet of different varieties of roses.

Then he went to Qin Hongxi’s collection room, picked an antique vase, and quietly arranged the flowers in the room.

Not long after, the roses were placed in the most prominent spot in the living room.

After finishing this, Qin Yao got up and went to the adjacent bedroom.

This bedroom was the one where Ye Leyao had stayed during the time of the restart, but now it was no longer the same as it had been in his memories.

Qin Yao hesitated for a moment but still didn’t tidy up the room.

The house that Ye Leyao’s parents had bought had already been renovated, and they would move there together later.

Qin Yao left the room and went to the study.

On his desk was an acrylic frame with a note inside. The note had Ye Leyao’s handwriting on it.

Underneath the frame was a timer that recorded the number of days since Ye Leyao had left.

Qin Yao suddenly smiled and reset the timer to zero.

He then turned and went to the kitchen.

Despite his “harsh words” earlier about not making milk if Ye Leyao was late, Qin Yao still made a cup of milk for him.

Since the weather was hot, to keep the milk fresh, Qin Yao added a few ice cubes and placed it in the fridge.

After doing this, Qin Yao wandered around his room for a while.

Once he confirmed there was nothing else to do, he sat at Ye Leyao’s desk.

During these two days that Ye Leyao had been away, Qin Yao hadn’t used the computer, because on this computer, there was a small program left by Ye Leyao.

He liked the chibi version of Ye Leyao.

Qin Yao opened the computer, about to search for the chibi character as usual, but suddenly found that the chibi character had already disappeared.

His heart seemed to be tightly squeezed, and Qin Yao inexplicably felt a little anxious. He stood up abruptly, cold sweat covering his face. Just as he was about to walk out, his peripheral vision suddenly caught a familiar figure.

Ye Leyao, holding a cup of milk that was still emitting cold steam, slowly walked to the study door, leaned against the door, and raised the milk cup in his hand, smugly tilting his chin towards Qin Yao as if saying, “Didn’t you say you wouldn’t make me milk? What is this then?”

Qin Yao’s eyes turned red in an instant. “Yaoyao…”

Ye Leyao had just come to tease Qin Yao, but he didn’t expect that Qin Yao’s eyes would turn red. He was taken aback and immediately forgot about the milk in his hand, quickly walking towards Qin Yao.

Qin Yao, with red eyes, pulled Ye Leyao into his arms. His strength was great, with an unrefusable meaning, as if he wanted to press Ye Leyao into his own body.

Ye Leyao was slightly startled in his heart, but he didn’t care about the milk in his hand, quickly placing the cup on the desk behind him, then hugged Qin Yao back, gently patting his back to comfort him.

Qin Yao’s emotions were intense. After a long time, he finally calmed down.

It was then that Qin Yao suddenly realized something.

From the moment Ye Leyao appeared, he hadn’t said a word.

Qin Yao felt a dull pain in his chest. He gently pushed Ye Leyao away and tightly stared into his eyes, asking each word slowly, “You… exchanged your voice with the main system?”

Ye Leyao’s pupils slightly contracted, his expression seemed to ask how he knew.

Qin Yao felt even more pain in his heart, not because he was afraid, but because he was heartbroken. He felt heartache for Ye Leyao, who had given up his voice in order to stay and accompany him.

Qin Yao, with red eyes, spoke in a hoarse voice, “After you left, I went to find Bai Yu…”

Ye Leyao understood at once. He smiled brightly and gently pushed Qin Yao aside, picked up the pen on the desk and said: [Am I not keeping my promise?]

Qin Yao’s eyes moistened. He gently nodded, “Mm.”

Ye Leyao continued: [Actually, I think losing my voice isn’t such a bad thing. At least I can still see you, and I’ve always known sign language, so I don’t need to learn it. But, President Qin, you… well, you might have to work hard to learn it!]

“So what happened to you just now? Why did you look so shocked?”

Qin Yao took the pen from Ye Leyao’s hand, not telling him that he was scared by the disappearance of the chibi version of Ye Leyao, then kissed him passionately, changing the subject, “It’s not hard…”

The little system called L1 went through great struggles to come to his side. The remaining journey, it was now up to Qin Yao to walk it.

As their breaths intertwined, Qin Yao let go of Ye Leyao and whispered in his ear, “I’ll go learn today…”

Ye Leyao smiled and nodded.

Qin Yao bent down to find his lips again, and as their lips and tongues intermingled, Qin Yao whispered, “You can’t leave again, Yaoyao…”

The passionate kiss was forceful and domineering. When Ye Leyao had just pulled away a little, Qin Yao’s lips and tongue followed relentlessly, not giving him a moment of respite. This kiss kept trailing down until it caused a tremor in Ye Leyao, and he had to push Qin Yao away in panic.

He gestured with his hands in front of Qin Yao’s chest.

Without looking, Qin Yao directly seized Ye Leyao’s hands and pinned him against the desk.

Ye Leyao’s face turned red, and he started struggling, trying to escape Qin Yao’s kiss, but it was all in vain.

Qin Yao was unreasonable, constantly taking and conquering.

Ye Leyao could no longer bear it and finally cried out, “Qin Yao!”

The moment the sound escaped, both Qin Yao and Ye Leyao froze.

Qin Yao, with red eyes, met Ye Leyao’s teary gaze.

After a long time, Ye Leyao finally heard himself speak, “Why… can I still speak?”

Two choices popped up on the system panel. L2 stood beside Qiu and watched as she pressed the “Confirm” button.

After several hundred years, the restarted A20231007 world was finally sealed again.

With the sealing of the small world, the connection between the main system and the small world was severed.

L2 tried to sense Ye Leyao’s location but found that he could no longer find his coordinates.

“It’s over,” L2 said.

For a long time, no response came from Qiu.

L2 turned around in surprise, and his pupils shrank suddenly, “Qiu—what’s wrong with you! Your data…”

Qiu still stood in her human form, but L2 could see that the massive data inside her was disintegrating at an alarming speed. Then, all the data gathered in one place and rapidly moved toward the space of the main system.

L2’s entire system froze, “What’s… happening?”

Having lost a large part of her data, Qiu was no longer the supervisor of the regulatory department. Her identity badge was erased, and after a while, the string of data was woven into a new identifier—L1.

“What is this…” L2 said, staring at Qiu, “Why…”

“This is what I owe them,” Qiu slowly spoke, and a tear fell from her human face.

Qiu softly said, “Hundreds of years ago, when I first took over the A20231007 world, I wanted to change the entire storyline…”

“What?” L2 was astonished.

Qiu said, “But I couldn’t. It’s not that I didn’t have the ability, or the points, it’s that I found that no matter how I changed it, the ending of this world was always the same.”

“Why?” L2 was confused. “Isn’t the regulatory system able to modify the plot of a small world? As long as the modification is reasonable and acknowledged by the main system…”

Qiu smiled bitterly, “Yes, but all of this is based on the premise that the regulatory system has no connection to this small world.”

L2’s pupils suddenly contracted as he realized something, “Could it be that you—”

Qiu looked down at her own database identifier. She smiled lightly, “Yes, I created the A20231007 world.”

Thousands of years ago, when Qiu was still human, she used the pen name “Qiu” to write this novel. But back then, she didn’t know that the lives beneath her words would materialize into real humans with flesh and blood.

Qiu’s youthful arrogance caused the suffering of countless characters.

After gaining power, she had tried to change the plot, but since she was the creator of the world, none of her changes were acknowledged by the main system.

“Then why L…” L2 hesitated, now facing the L1 Qiu, which is why he called Ye Leyao’s name, “Why did you choose Ye Leyao?”

Qiu shook her head with a smile, “I never chose him. The A20231007 world chose him.”

Thus, when Qiu saw the future Ye Leyao, she decisively sealed the world.

Until the day the time was right, L1, who knew nothing about love, took the initiative to walk up to her and ask what love was.

And the story began here. Thousands of years passed in the blink of an eye, and the story finally came to an end.
