ASPWL Ch85: You’re a Bit Naughty

Everyone’s gaze was fixed on Huo Yan.

The more Huo Yan thought about it, the angrier he got. He said furiously, “No! There’s absolutely no way Ye Leyao can go meet…”

Mama Huo suddenly interrupted Huo Yan: “What did you just say?”

Huo Yan: “I said there’s absolutely no way…”

“The sentence before that,” Mama Huo clarified.

Huo Yan thought for a moment and then carefully repeated, “I said I suspect Qin Yao can hear Ye Leyao’s thoughts too.”

As soon as the words were spoken, the living room fell silent.

Huo Ze, filled with shock, was the first to speak: “Impossible! Wasn’t it said that only our family could hear Ye Leyao’s thoughts?”

Huo Yan gave him a glance: “The reason we came to that conclusion is that we hadn’t found any evidence that anyone else could hear Ye Leyao’s thoughts.”

Huo Jing also found this hard to believe. He looked up at Huo Yan: “So now you have evidence?”

Huo Yan nodded.

Ever since he began suspecting Qin Yao, Huo Yan had revisited the live stream recordings from the first three episodes, including the two episodes that had already aired.

He took out his phone and sent the video he’d compiled to the family group chat.

“Take a look for yourselves.”

The other four pulled out their phones, and soon the only sound in the living room was that of the videos playing.

Huo Yan had compiled a comprehensive video, covering everything from the first to the fourth episode.

After watching the video, the family fell into a prolonged silence.

In the end, it was Mama Huo who spoke first: “This isn’t a trivial matter. Rather than speculating here, why don’t we ask Xiao Qin directly?”

Papa Huo agreed with her and said, “We could ask him at the birthday party. We’ve been invited anyway, so it wouldn’t seem too obvious if we casually brought it up.”

Mama Huo nodded in agreement.

Huo Jing and Huo Ze had no objections either.

Only Huo Yan frowned deeply: “So, even after finding out that Qin Yao can hear Ye Leyao’s thoughts, you’re still not going to stop them from being together? And why do we have to go to that birthday party? Are you really planning to let Ye Leyao meet the parents?”

It seemed Huo Yan still couldn’t accept Qin Yao in the short term.

But if he couldn’t accept it, then so be it—there wasn’t much they could do about it anyway.

Mama Huo stood up, sighed helplessly, and decided not to waste any more words arguing with Huo Yan.

When she stood up, Papa Huo followed.

Huo Jing looked at his watch and said, “I have a meeting.”

Huo Yan turned to Huo Ze, who patted his second brother on the shoulder and said, “Second Brother, our little brother is bound to grow up. I think you don’t need to worry so much.”

Huo Yan clenched his teeth. “You think I’m worrying for nothing?”

Huo Ze coughed twice and casually found an excuse: “Ning Xu just messaged me, said he found something. I’m heading out!”

Huo Ze slipped away quickly, and in the blink of an eye, the spacious living room was left with only Huo Yan.

Huo Yan stood up, but quickly sat back down.

No way.

There was absolutely no way Ye Leyao could attend that birthday banquet!

He had to think of a plan.

But as he pondered, Huo Yan thought for five whole days.

The day after tomorrow was Qin Yao’s mother’s birthday banquet, and Huo Yan still hadn’t figured out how to stop Ye Leyao from going.

That afternoon, except for Ye Leyao, who was still in acting class, and Huo Ze, who hadn’t yet returned home, the brothers Huo Jing and Huo Yan were both at home.

Mama Huo was the first to speak to Huo Yan: “It’s been five days. Have you thought of anything?”

Huo Yan: “…”

Papa Huo leaned over. “Why don’t you just come with us? If you’re not happy with anything, you can stir up trouble with Qin Yao right there.”

Mama Huo nodded, “That makes perfect sense.”

Huo Yan was speechless: “They’re hosting a banquet, and I’d be picking a fight on the day? Isn’t that just causing trouble?”

“Oh, so you know you’d be causing trouble!” Papa Huo chuckled.

Huo Jing said sincerely, “Xiao Yao’s dating life is going just fine, and not only do you disagree, but you’re also trying to break them up. That’s causing trouble too.”

Huo Yan was about to argue with Huo Jing when suddenly Huo Jing’s phone rang. He picked it up and answered, “Hello?”

Huo Yan snorted, preparing to give his family the cold shoulder. Just as he was about to go upstairs, he heard Huo Jing say, “Typhoon?”

Huo Yan stopped in his tracks, and both Papa Huo and Mama Huo looked toward Huo Jing.

Huo Jing’s expression turned serious, and after a long pause, his frown finally eased. “Got it, thanks.”

After the call ended, Papa Huo had already opened the news.

The TV was broadcasting the latest typhoon forecast. Judging by the typhoon’s path, it was heading straight for the shipping route they had been planning to use just days ago!

The whole family couldn’t help but feel astonished.

It really looked like the typhoon had turned their way—

Luckily, they had listened to Ye Leyao’s advice a few days ago!

Mama Huo let out a long breath and said to Huo Jing, “Looks like you owe Xiao Yao a big thank you.”

Huo Jing nodded seriously, realizing he did owe Ye Leyao one.

After a moment of thought, Huo Jing said, “I’ll send Xiao Yao some pocket money. Dating requires some funds.”

Huo Yan’s eyelid twitched heavily: “How come I never got any dating funds from you when I was dating? Besides, why does Ye Leyao need money to date Qin Yao? Is Qin Yao expecting him to pay? If that’s the case, they should break up even faster—”

“You should say less!” Mama Huo interrupted, genuinely asking, “If I gave you dating funds, would you have used it to help raise someone else’s child?”

Huo Yan: “I—”

“Is Ye Leyao back yet?!” Suddenly, Huo Ze burst in, shouting excitedly.

Seeing his enthusiasm, Papa Huo was puzzled: “What happened to make you so happy?”

“I found it!” Huo Ze said, his face lit up with excitement and a hint of anger. “I not only found evidence that Li Chi was throwing matches, but also uncovered a traitor!”

The family was stunned.

Not only was Li Chi involved, but someone had also planted a spy in the team. Who could be behind this effort to take down Huo Ze’s team?

Huo Ze quickly walked over, sat down on the sofa, and drank a glass of water before handing over the evidence he had gathered.

Papa Huo and Mama Huo were the first to examine it, growing more alarmed the more they read.

“If I’m not mistaken, this assistant has been with you for quite some time,” Huo Jing said.

Huo Ze nodded.

He hadn’t expected that his most trusted assistant had been someone planted by others all along.

Fortunately, their strategies last season had been minimal, and they had relied on skill to win their matches, so it hadn’t affected their results.

After reviewing all the evidence, Papa Huo asked in a low voice, “What do you plan to do next?”

Huo Ze didn’t hesitate, a fierce glint flashing in his eyes: “Of course, they’ll all have to pay!”

Huo Ze usually seemed easygoing, but this had crossed a line for him. He wasn’t someone who would just let this go lightly.

After hearing this, Papa Huo and Mama Huo both nodded in approval.

Huo Jing said, “You should go deal with the assistant and Li Chi first, but what about the person behind all this?”

He picked out a document from the pile and laid it in front of Huo Ze. It was a profile of a man, with a name written below the three-inch photo: Gu Song.

This was the one thing that gave Huo Ze pause. After a moment of hesitation, he said, “I don’t know why Gu Song wants to take down my team, but regardless of the reason, he’s already provoked me. I’m just thinking… if I really go after Gu Song, would it make things difficult for Ye Leyao?”

Just then, a curious voice rang out: “Huh? What would make things difficult for me?”

Ye Leyao had just walked in and heard the last part of the conversation, looking puzzled.

[Gu Song?]

[Why does that name sound familiar?]

Huo Ze quickly put away the documents and cleared his throat: “It’s nothing.”

Ye Leyao changed his shoes and walked in, his gaze falling on Huo Ze, his head tilting slightly in confusion.

[Third Brother is Lying!]

Ye Leyao snorted, sitting down next to Huo Ze, and was just about to ask what was going on when his phone vibrated slightly.

Ye Leyao quickly nodded and took out his phone; it was a message from Qin Yao.

As he replied, he muttered to himself in his heart.

[I’m home, I’m home. Will he come to pick me up tomorrow?]

[No need, no need. Tomorrow I’ll just go with Papa Huo and Mama Huo.]

Huo Ze immediately sighed in relief and quickly signaled to the others.

Huo Jing thought for a moment and said, “Xiao Yao, I had my assistant transfer five million to you; it should arrive tomorrow.”

Ye Leyao was in the middle of replying to the message when he heard this, his eyes suddenly lit up. “Why did big brother transfer money to me?”

[Could it be that he thinks I’ve been working hard in class lately and wants to reward me with some hardship pay?]

Huo Jing thought to himself, of course, that wasn’t the case.

But it could indeed be considered a reward for Ye Leyao.

After all, if it weren’t for Ye Leyao, he would have lost over a hundred million just in goods from this business.

Thinking of this, Huo Jing cleared his throat and said, “Just take it; you deserve it.”

Ye Leyao quickly nodded. “Okay!”

[Hehe, my savings are increasing again!]

For a moment, Ye Leyao felt especially cheerful.

He happily opened his bank account to check his balance before putting his phone down.

[But wait, what did Third Brother mean by that earlier?]

Huo Ze’s eyelids suddenly twitched, so he blurted out, “I’ll transfer ten million to you tomorrow as well.”

Ye Leyao’s eyes widened in surprise.

The others couldn’t help but glance at Huo Ze.

Huo Yan glared at Huo Ze.

You really have money!

Don’t tell me this money is also for Ye Leyao’s dating expenses!

Huo Ze chuckled, thinking to himself that he actually planned to say just that.

Clearing his throat, Huo Ze said, “Haven’t you been dating recently? There must be many places to spend money.”

Mentioning Qin Yao, Ye Leyao felt a bit embarrassed.

But thinking of the ten million, he felt joy again.

[Third Brother actually gave me so much at once; he’s much more generous than Big Brother!]

Huo Jing: “…”

Huo Ze couldn’t help but laugh, saying, “And you’re starting school soon; are you planning to stay at home or move out?”

Ye Leyao hadn’t thought about this issue: “I’m not sure.”

He was quite comfortable living at home, but the distance to school was rather far. If he had to travel back and forth every day, it would be quite a hassle.

At this time, Mama Huo smiled and said, “Why not stay in your new apartment during the school period? It’s closer to the school; you can come back home during holidays and weekends.”

Ye Leyao thought for a moment: “That works!”

So the matter was settled.

During this time, Huo Yan wanted to persuade Ye Leyao not to go to the banquet tomorrow several times but couldn’t find the right moment.

Until dinner that night, after Ye Leyao went upstairs to sleep, Huo Yan still hadn’t said this.

Mama Huo found it quite strange and asked Huo Yan before going upstairs, “Why didn’t you say not to let Xiao Yao go to the banquet?”

Huo Yan was silent.

For a long while, long enough that Mama Huo thought he wasn’t going to speak and was planning to go upstairs, Huo Yan finally said solemnly, “I don’t want Ye Leyao to go, but I don’t know why, I feel like I shouldn’t stop him.”

This statement was vague and strange.

Not only did Mama Huo not understand, but neither did the others.

“I think your second brother has been quite strange lately.” Mama Huo said as she walked upstairs, linking her arm with Huo Ze’s.

Huo Ze nodded, “Yeah, I think so too. Maybe Second Brother should start dating. Once he’s in a relationship, he probably won’t be so neurotic every day.”

Papa Huo and Huo Jing got up and followed upstairs.

Huo Yan gritted his teeth and said, “Huo Ze! Stop making fun of me every day!”

Huo Ze chose to manually ignore Huo Yan’s words.

The next day, the family got up early and set off for the Qin family.

In the car, Mama Huo suddenly thought of something and asked Ye Leyao, “Today should be your first time going to the Qin family, right?”

Ye Leyao nodded.

The Qin family had hosted banquets before, but Ye Leyao had never liked crowded places, so this was indeed his first visit.

“Then remember to have Qin Yao take you around later,” Mama Huo smiled and glanced at Huo Yan, who had a gloomy face next to her. “If possible, remember to take your second brother along.”

Ye Leyao turned to look at Huo Yan and couldn’t help but let out a small sound of surprise in his heart.

[Why does Second Brother look so bad? Didn’t he sleep well last night?]

The others had some amusement on their faces.

But it wasn’t because he hadn’t slept well.

However, no one said anything more, lest Huo Yan get embarrassed and angry.

An hour later, they arrived at the Qin family’s old residence.

Qin Yao stood at the gate welcoming guests. When he saw the Huo family’s car, his eyes brightened, and he quickly walked toward them.

Since the fourth phase of filming ended, Ye Leyao hadn’t seen Qin Yao for a whole five days!

Seeing him now, Ye Leyao felt very happy and ran over.

Qin Yao was dressed in a silver suit today, and the well-tailored suit made his figure appear even taller. When he saw Ye Leyao, his deep eyes curved up, and he reached out to catch the running Ye Leyao.

Feeling the familiar warmth in Qin Yao’s embrace, Ye Leyao couldn’t help but smile widely. “President Qin!”

Qin Yao responded with a sound, holding Ye Leyao’s hand, then took out a handkerchief to wipe the sweat off Ye Leyao’s nose, his expression gentle. “Why are you running? Aren’t you tired?”

Ye Leyao shook his head.

[I’m happy; I’m not tired.]

Huo Yan felt a bit speechless hearing this.

Ye Leyao was such a love-struck fool!

Seeing that the Huo family had all arrived, Qin Yao didn’t let go of Ye Leyao’s hand and naturally greeted the others one by one.

Just then, a deep male voice rang out: “Is this Xiao Yao?”

Ye Leyao turned his head and saw a man who somewhat resembled Qin Yao. The man wore a smile, and when he noticed Ye Leyao looking over, the amusement in his eyes deepened.

Ye Leyao recognized the newcomer.

[Is he Qin Yao’s father? He looks so familiar; I think I’ve seen him before.]

Ye Leyao politely greeted, “Hello, Uncle Qin.”

Qin Hongxi responded with a smile and then took two large red envelopes, the size of suitcases, from his assistant and handed them to Ye Leyao.

Ye Leyao’s eyes widened in surprise.

[Huh? What is this?]

Qin Hongxi explained with a smile, “This is a greeting gift for our first meeting. My wife has some matters to attend to, so I’m giving you her red envelope as well.”

Ye Leyao glanced at Qin Yao, then at Papa and Mama Huo.

[Giving such big red envelopes at our first meeting, it seems Father Qin is very satisfied with me.]

Papa and Mama Huo were also pleased with his attitude and nodded gently, signaling Ye Leyao to accept it.

However, Ye Leyao hesitated and looked to Qin Yao for guidance.

[Should I accept this? Is it appropriate?]

Qin Yao found this amusing and reached out to take the two red envelopes, pushing them into Ye Leyao’s hands: “Take them.”

Only then did Ye Leyao smile at Qin Hongxi and say, “Thank you, Uncle Qin.”

He then muttered in his heart:

[They’re so heavy! What’s inside? Could it be a suitcase full of money?]

Upon hearing this, Qin Yao took the two suitcases back from Ye Leyao, saying, “I’ll carry them for you.”

Ye Leyao nodded repeatedly, quickly handing the two suitcases over to Qin Yao.

Their interaction did not go unnoticed by the others. Qin Hongxi was filled with joy, while Papa and Mama Huo exchanged knowing glances.

[It seems Huo Yan was right; even the closest couples can’t read each other’s thoughts just by looking at each other, right?]

Qin Yao indeed seemed able to hear Ye Leyao’s thoughts.

The two families’ elders chatted casually for a bit, and then Qin Hongxi said to Qin Yao, “Alright, you can take Xiao Yao inside to look around now; I’ll be fine here.”

Qin Yao nodded, said goodbye to the Huo family, and led Ye Leyao inside.

As they walked further away, Huo Ze nudged Huo Yan with his elbow and whispered, “Second brother, aren’t you going to follow them?”

Huo Yan’s response was concise and straightforward, just one word: “Get lost.”

He was quite annoyed!

Huo Ze wanted to laugh but was worried his second brother would get angry, so he held it in.

Ye Leyao followed Qin Yao through the villa. The further they went, the more he felt something strange, and he couldn’t help but say, “Qin Yao, have I been to your house before?”

Qin Yao replied, “You probably haven’t?”

Ye Leyao thought:

[But why does this place feel so familiar?]

He asked again, “By the way, Qin Yao, where’s your mother? I haven’t seen her.”

Qin Yao furrowed his brow slightly before answering, “She’s probably chatting with my uncle; don’t mind her. Shall I take you to my room to rest for a bit?”

Ye Leyao found this a bit strange but didn’t press further and followed Qin Yao upstairs.

The Qin family villa had four floors in total.

The entire first floor was the activity area, the second floor was where Qin’s parents lived, and Qin Yao’s room was on the third floor, which was a spacious suite with a large balcony.

As they reached the door, Ye Leyao suddenly felt a tight, swelling sensation in his heart.

When the door opened, he immediately spotted the large balcony outside the living room.

At the end of August, it was the season for countless flowers to bloom.

The spacious balcony was now filled with roses, and amid the vibrant blooms, bees seemed to buzz by. A gentle breeze wafted in, carrying the fragrant scent of flowers.

Ye Leyao stood at the door, lost in thought, until Qin Yao asked curiously, “Yaoyao, why aren’t you coming in?”

Ye Leyao snapped back to reality and felt the dense, damp emotions in his heart dissipate in an instant. He mindlessly said, “I really like your balcony.”

[If I could set up a lounge chair there to sunbathe, it should be quite comfortable, right?]

Qin Yao followed Ye Leyao’s gaze to the sunlit balcony and smiled slightly, “Would you like to sit out there for a bit? I can get you some milk?”

Ye Leyao’s eyes lit up: “You have milk?”

Qin Yao nodded.

Knowing that Ye Leyao was coming, he had prepared oatmeal milk in advance.

Ye Leyao happily moved two chairs out to the balcony, sitting in the shaded area away from the sunlight, patiently waiting for Qin Yao to bring him milk.

For some reason, he suddenly felt a long-lost sense of joy and excitement.

It was as if he had been looking forward to this day’s arrival for a long time.

Qin Yao didn’t make Ye Leyao wait long and soon brought out a cup of chilled oatmeal milk for him, then sat down beside him.

Ye Leyao took a big gulp of the milk, his eyes narrowing in satisfaction.

[So delicious.]

Qin Yao’s gaze fell on Ye Leyao’s upturned lips, his eyes filled with tender amusement.

After Ye Leyao had consumed most of the milk, he suddenly recalled something and asked, “Qin Yao, you really don’t have anything to attend to?”

Qin Yao nodded, “Not at the moment, but I might have to socialize later.”

Ye Leyao laughed, “Why does it sound like you’re a bit reluctant to say that?”

Qin Yao turned his head, his deep gaze locking onto Ye Leyao.

It was only when Ye Leyao, feeling a bit shy, averted his gaze that he heard Qin Yao softly say, “Don’t you know why I’m reluctant?”

Ye Leyao placed the milk cup on his face to cool himself down, feeling his heart speed up slightly, but he still managed to keep a straight face: “I don’t know; you can tell me, Qin Yao.”

The boy’s eyes widened slightly, his long eyelashes fluttering.

It felt like two small brushes had swept across Qin Yao’s heart twice, causing a slight itch.

Qin Yao’s Adam’s apple moved slightly, and he said helplessly, “Yaoyao, you’re a bit naughty.”

Ye Leyao’s lips curved into a big smile, half of his body leaning against Qin Yao: “Are you really not going to tell me?”

His fluffy hair brushed against Qin Yao’s neck; with a slight lean down, Qin Yao could rub his cheek against the boy’s soft hair.

In fact, Qin Yao did just that.

The soft strands glided over his cheek, and in the end, Qin Yao planted a light kiss on the top of his head.

“Because of you,” Qin Yao said.

Ye Leyao suddenly looked up, his face full of expectation: “Huh?”

Qin Yao suddenly found that he couldn’t look directly into Ye Leyao’s eyes. Just locking gazes with him made his heart race. He slightly averted his gaze and fell silent.

However, Ye Leyao wouldn’t let it go: “What? President Qin, tell me again! I didn’t hear you just now!”

Qin Yao replied, “I won’t say.”

“Say it!”

Qin Yao replied, “No.”

Ye Leyao sat up straight, his fluffy head moving away from Qin Yao’s shoulder: “I’m going to get angry!”

Qin Yao thought for a moment: “Then I’ll pour you another glass of milk?”

Ye Leyao couldn’t help but laugh: “So your way of apologizing is to pour me milk?”

“Will you accept it?” Qin Yao smiled.

The boy in front of him was very easy to coax.

Ye Leyao glanced at his empty cup and blinked: “Then add a hug, and I’ll forgive you.”

Qin Yao took Ye Leyao’s empty cup, stood up, and suddenly leaned down again.

Ye Leyao only felt a warm flash at his forehead, and the next second, Qin Yao had already walked into the room: “Deal.”

Ye Leyao jumped up: “President Qin, you only kissed my forehead again!”

[Hmph, clearly you said on WeChat yesterday that you would kiss me!]

[And what happened?! You only kissed my forehead; I’ll wear a hat next time!]

In the kitchen, Qin Yao couldn’t help but chuckle at that.

At the same time, Chu Cheng, standing at the third-floor doorway, suddenly noticed that Huo Yan’s expression had darkened significantly.

Huo Ze pursed his lips, wanting to laugh but held it in.

Seeing this, Chu Cheng couldn’t help but ask, “Are you okay? Why does your face look so bad?”

Huo Yan maintained a serious expression and shook his head: “I’m fine.”

No matter how Chu Cheng looked at him, he didn’t believe he looked fine, but he didn’t ask further. He knocked on the door: “Cousin, that idiot who’s related to me by blood wants to see you.”

After patiently waiting for two seconds, Ye Leyao opened the door: “Huh?”

Chu Cheng instantly broke into a bright smile when he saw Ye Leyao: “Long time no see!”

Ye Leyao looked at the three of them and asked Chu Cheng: “The idiot related to you by blood?”

Chu Cheng laughed cheerfully: “That’s my biological father.”

At this moment, Qin Yao walked over with the milk, first handing it to Ye Leyao before saying to Chu Cheng: “You went to see him again?”

Chu Cheng said: “I was going to see my little aunt, but…”

He shrugged, leaving the rest unsaid.

Qin Yao nodded and then looked at Ye Leyao: “My mother should also be there; do you want to come with me?”

Huo Yan frowned immediately: “Ye Leyao shouldn’t go.”

Qin Yao nodded: “Okay.”

Ye Leyao, confused, said: “Hey, wait a minute, weren’t you asking if I was going? I haven’t even spoken yet! I want to go!”

Huo Yan opened his mouth but ended up saying nothing, just glaring at Qin Yao.

Qin Yao thought for a moment and still spoke honestly: “My mother might not be as enthusiastic about you as my father is.”

Ye Leyao was taken aback: “Why?”

[Could it be that Auntie is homophobic?]

What kind of statement was that?

Qin Yao wanted to laugh, but after hearing Ye Leyao’s comment, the heavy stone in his heart lightened a bit. He explained: “No, it’s more like she doesn’t really like me, so she wouldn’t be very warm towards you.”

Ye Leyao blinked slowly.

[President Qin’s mother doesn’t like him?]

“Then I should still wish Auntie a happy birthday, right?” Ye Leyao said.

[After all, I’m not dating Auntie; as long as President Qin likes me, that’s enough!]

Ye Leyao smiled.

Qin Yao suddenly felt a bit sour in his heart.

Huo Yan and Huo Ze both sighed in their hearts at the same time.

At this point, Huo Ze finally understood why Huo Yan insisted on calling Ye Leyao a love-struck fool.

Now that he looked at it, it indeed seemed a bit like it!

Since Ye Leyao wanted to go, the others didn’t have a reason to stop him.

Huo Yan and Huo Ze proposed that they go together.

So the four of them went downstairs, heading to the reception room on the first floor.

Before they even walked in, Ye Leyao heard two voices talking—

A female voice asked, “Has Gu Yu not settled down with that kid yet?”

“Ah, don’t mention it; you’ve watched him grow up since he was little; you know him, right? That temper of his, how many can tolerate it? He’s been in a breakup with his partner recently.” A male voice replied, then continued, “But I actually think it’s good for him to stir things up a bit. If he doesn’t sort it out, he won’t settle down. Once he’s had enough of the fuss, he’ll probably be able to settle down.”

The female voice said, “Indeed, Xiao Yu is still young, no need to rush.”

The male voice continued, “Yeah, I’m planning to have him retire from the entertainment industry after he settles down, just like your Qin Yao, and join Qin’s Group…”

Ye Leyao’s brows furrowed at this point.

[Gu Yu? Xiao Yu?]

[Why does that name sound so familiar?]

In the next moment, Qin Yao led Ye Leyao into the reception room, and Ye Leyao’s gaze fell on the man sitting opposite the woman.

Just one glance, and Ye Leyao recognized the man.

[Gu Song?!]

[Why do I know his name?]

[Gu Yu… who is that again?]

In the next moment, Ye Leyao remembered.

[So it was them!]

[The scum gong Gu Yu from that novel I hated the most is actually Chu Cheng’s step-brother? Another cousin of President Qin?]

Ye Leyao’s brow furrowed tightly, and he suddenly realized:

[So the most famous scene in the book—where the scum gong and the stepmom are caught in an affair, and the scum gong almost gets castrated by the protagonist—happened at today’s banquet?]

Qin Yao, Huo Yan, and Huo Ze all turned to look at Ye Leyao simultaneously.

What was going on?

Why did it feel like this language was a bit niche? They couldn’t quite understand it at the moment.

Could someone explain it, perhaps a graduate student?
