RBNR Ch59: Kissing
Qin Bao confirmed the bite mark on his neck from the photos Feng Chengyu sent him.
When they boarded the spaceship, the situation was quite urgent. He was still in the initial daze of his rut period, and he had left his phone on Suliran. Fortunately, Feng Chengyu remembered and had someone retrieve it.
The starry sky was too beautiful not to record.
Feng Chengyu’s phone captured many stunning images, and also… some of themselves.
There weren’t any explicit ones, but there were several kissing photos. Qin Bao didn’t even remember most of them, yet the angles indicated they were mostly taken by himself, not Feng Chengyu.
Perhaps it was his desire to perform as a model. Even in a daze, he knew to look at the camera.
One photo showed him kissing Feng Chengyu while sitting on his lap, with only Feng Chengyu’s shoulder and half of his own face visible. The composition and lighting were blurred, but his eyes reflected the porthole and starry sky.
He liked it very much.
Qin Bao enjoyed things with a touch of glamour and a dreamy quality. In his personal work environments, he often used elements like laser lights, sequins, and rainbows, which looked quite loud.
He just didn’t expect Feng Chengyu would play along with him.
In the cabin, there were brilliant blue, green, and purple ambient lights. He was kneeling on the pristine white sheets while Feng Chengyu embraced him from behind, looking at the camera together.
Although they were wearing bathrobes, the photo somehow made Qin Bao feel extremely embarrassed.
He quickly saved it to his phone, planning to look at it twenty or thirty times a day.
As for the bite mark, Qin Bao remembered the situation at the time.
“Did we… finish?”
He was almost unable to think clearly, his body so soft that even a touch made him tremble.
“Yes, we’re done.”
Feng Chengyu was kissing his neck.
“Do you want to see?”
And thus, the photo was taken, one of the few selfies Feng Chengyu had ever taken.
Qin Bao was hanging limply on Feng Chengyu, his head resting on Feng Chengyu’s shoulder. Feng Chengyu’s left hand gently pushed aside his hair, revealing the bite mark, which, though healed, would never disappear.
Now, he had to wear pheromone patches every time he went out.
Qin Bao sighed.
If there’s a downside to permanent marking, this might be it!
After the fifteen-day vacation, it felt like Feng Chengyu and Qin Bao had entered a true honeymoon period. Qin Bao often forgot the reason they had married, proving Feng Chengyu’s words true: “Maybe after we’re married, we’ll get along well.”
Qin Bao couldn’t deny that he was moved by this kind of life.
He had become the fool who loved the other person in their contract marriage.
But he also knew that, according to their agreement, they only had five years, with less than three years left.
So it was okay to be clear-headed about falling for him. Just enjoy it while it lasted, in the remaining time.
Qin BaoV: [Shared a photo]
【What the heck? What is this BB? It looks pretty good.】
【It’s probably a teaser for “Echoes,” looks quite sci-fi.】
【Such a beautiful starry sky【starry-eyed】 Thanks for sharing, BB~】
【The logo next to the window looks familiar. I think I’ve seen it somewhere before?】
【Ah, I know! It’s the logo of that interstellar travel company in the Alliance! Bao, did you go on a trip?!】
【Interstellar travel! I want to go too!】
【Baby, did you go alone or did you have someone with you?【screaming】】
Qin Bao was always generous with interacting with his fans, and he replied to that comment: 【I didn’t go alone.】
This sent everyone into a frenzy of guesses in the comments, but he restrained himself from revealing any more information.
Only Xiao Xu, seeing his Flow, smiled mysteriously.
Because she knew more than others.
Feng Chengyu also noticed Qin Bao’s post and teased, “Why didn’t you post that one?”
He was referring to the photo of the two of them kissing, with Qin Bao’s half face visible.
Qin Bao: “…… It might get my account banned!”
“It’s not like it shows anything else,” Feng Chengyu said. “Are you afraid?”
“I’m not afraid. I’ve never been one to maintain a single image,” Qin Bao said. “It’s just that the photo has you in it.”
“Me?”
“Of course! Don’t underestimate the power of the internet. Even though it only shows the back of your head, they might still figure it out.”
Ever since their photo was taken in Grody, Qin Bao had been more cautious about their distance in public. Even when walking near home, he would keep a ten-meter distance from Feng Chengyu.
“Besides, I just wanted to share the starry sky,” Qin Bao emphasized. “It has nothing to do with anything else.”
If it really had nothing to do with anything else, would he specifically reply to fans saying, “I didn’t go alone”?
Feng Chengyu didn’t press him further. He had recently discovered a new secret: while teasing Qin Bao was fun, it also made Qin Bao retreat into his hard shell even more.
Feng Chengyu was patient and took things slowly.
Their progress had reversed; now that they had reversed completely, there was no need to rush. He decided to slowly coax Qin Bao out of his shell step by step.
This process was interesting in itself.
*
On the first day back in the capital, they immediately threw themselves into work.
In April, Qin Bao joined the cast of “The Seaside Giudo,” playing the second male lead who secretly pines for the main character. This role was quite tragic, with many crying scenes, and Qin Bao ended up shedding more tears than ever in his acting career. Perhaps due to being so invested, he felt like he had lived and died with the character over the past two months of filming.
Undeniably, this film allowed him to release emotions he had been suppressing for nearly a decade, making him feel much clearer.
“Feng Chengyu!”
As soon as he got out of the car, Qin Bao shouted up at the stairs.
The lights were on at home, and Feng Chengyu had arrived before him.
Sure enough, Feng Chengyu appeared at the steps: “I heard you.”
In the midsummer of June, the lime lights beside the steps were on again. Feng Chengyu, dressed in a light-colored shirt, walked down from the snow-white flower ball. Qin Bao approached and grabbed his arm.
They looked at each other for a few seconds, as if there were a thousand words to say, but unfortunately, there was a third person present.
The atmosphere was intense, and without speaking, it was almost impossible for others to intrude.
Brother Lu, looking straight ahead and focusing on the luggage, actually had a hint of a smile on his lips: “Mr. Feng.”
Feng Chengyu nodded warmly: “Hello, Brother Lu.” He then took the luggage, saying, “Let me do it, you’ve worked hard.”
Brother Lu was several years older than Feng Chengyu but always felt intimidated by his aura: “It’s no trouble, it’s what I should do.”
He didn’t dare say much, only addressing the important point: “Xiao Bao has been coughing a lot these past few days, but Xiao Xu complained that he won’t take his medicine properly.”
Qin Bao: “…”
Feng Chengyu only glanced at Qin Bao and said, “Thank you for letting me know.”
Once Brother Lu left, and the door was shut, the two of them immediately kissed deeply.
Qin Bao was very enthusiastic. Since completing the permanent marking, he had been much more proactive than before. Not just to fulfill his role as a mate, but he seemed to enjoy holding hands and kissing more than before.
……
After an intense and passionate encounter, Qin Bao took a shower and went downstairs. He saw Feng Chengyu making rock candy pear soup and went over to hug him around the waist.
“I’m not coughing much anymore. Brother Lu is just over-worried.”
“Why didn’t you take the medicine?” Feng Chengyu pinched his hand and asked. “You told me on the phone that you were fine.”
Qin Bao explained, “I just forgot. Sometimes, when I start working, I lose track of time.”
He released Feng Chengyu: “Aren’t you busy these days too? How come you had time to come back today? I saw on the news that you went to the military.”
The imperial army was conducting a centennial military exercise, and important figures from the Feng family, including Feng Chengyu, were involved. Although they were in different viewing areas and didn’t communicate, the photos of Marshal Feng, Director Feng, and Feng Chengyu were all posted together online, creating a strong visual impact.
In the past, people used to joke about how half of the empire had the surname Feng, but those jokes had almost disappeared now. Even discussions about Feng Chengyu being “the flower of the empire,” and debates about his looks and marriage had vanished as if wiped away by an invisible hand.
Because the public understood that such matters were not for them to discuss.
But now that person was washing pots.
The sense of incongruity was really strong.
“Because I heard you have a kissing scene coming up.”
Feng Chengyu leaned against the island counter, looking down at the Omega who was taking away the pot.
Qin Bao: “…”
Is it really okay to ask about this right when you come back?
Feng Chengyu got straight to the point: “So I came back to ask if it’s true.”
“There is a kissing scene,” Qin Bao said awkwardly, “It’s just a farewell kiss, you know, no sexual elements.”
Feng Chengyu took the things from his hand and put them aside, then faced him: “Can it be changed?”
How to change it?
Qin Bao knew about this scene from the beginning when he saw the script. At that time, he didn’t think there was anything that needed to be avoided, and he felt the same way now.
Qin Bao said, “It probably can’t be changed. From the perspective of the character and the story’s development, this kissing scene is quite necessary.” He looked into Feng Chengyu’s eyes, his heart racing fast, “Why do you ask?”
Feng Chengyu countered, “What do you think?”
Qin Bao looked away, trying to get back to work, “How would I know?”
Feng Chengyu pulled him back and held him in place: “I’m asking because I don’t want you to do that scene. I don’t want you kissing anyone else, not even for a role. I’m asking because I’m jealous.”
Qin Bao was stuck, unable to escape. He could only avoid Feng Chengyu’s gaze, his face turning red down to his neck, “What are you saying? I’m an actor. It’s just part of my job. It’s not like I want to kiss someone else. My grandfather never wanted me to do scenes with kisses because he thought actors who needed body doubles lacked professionalism. I don’t want to be seen as one of those privileged young masters in his eyes.”
Everyone could see how hard Qin Bao worked on set.
He was a cross-industry actor, and though his acting skills weren’t top-notch, his attitude was serious. He wasn’t afraid of NGs or hardships. The director thought he was cut out for this job.
Feng Chengyu asked, “So it will definitely be done according to the script?”
“Yeah.”
Qin Bao looked at the ground, his eyelashes casting shadows over his eyes.
In reality, it wasn’t set in stone. Changing scenes on set was common. Recently, the director and others had been considering whether to change it to a cheek kiss instead, as Qin Bao’s face looked too pure, making a cheek kiss more fitting for the farewell scene than a lip kiss.
But Qin Bao didn’t want to tell Feng Chengyu.
He tried to reason, “We never agreed on such work-related matters—”
Feng Chengyu interrupted by kissing him.
First a gentle touch, then a deeper kiss.
The scent of Feng Chengyu as an Alpha after the permanent marking enticed Qin Bao, and he was quickly lost in the sensation, starting to respond.
When he was about to extend his tongue for a deeper kiss, Feng Chengyu stopped the kiss.
“No tongues.”
Feng Chengyu’s eyes revealed an unmistakable possessiveness.
“No kissing scenes with anyone else should involve tongues.”
Qin Bao’s eyelashes fluttered, his heart nearly overflowing, “……”
Having Feng Chengyu’s permanent mark meant he no longer rejected other Alphas.
But that didn’t mean he was professional enough to tongue kiss another Alpha. He would consider such scripts carefully before accepting them.
“I’m not trying to force you to change the scene,” Feng Chengyu said. “You have your principles, and I have my boundaries. This isn’t something we can’t discuss. But as your Alpha, I need to express how intolerable this situation is for me.”
Just expressing?
Qin Bao understood his words but felt even more confused, “Is that it? Do you—do you have any other conditions?”
So Feng Chengyu agreed to the kissing scene?
Growing up, whenever Qin Bao wanted to do something, his family would agree, but there were always conditions, and Qin Bao had to trade his performance for it.
Of course, Qin Bao always complied, no matter how difficult it was. He knew that everything had to be earned through hard work.
So, he was a bit unaccustomed to Feng Chengyu’s approach.
Feng Chengyu said, “Yes.”
Sure enough, familiar constraints surged in his heart, and Qin Bao felt an oddly natural psychological response.
He asked, “What is it?”
No matter what it was, he would comply.
Feng Chengyu cupped his face, pressing his thumb against Qin Bao’s lips, applying some force until his beautiful lower lip turned red: “You need to get this scene right on the first try.”
Qin Bao looked at Feng Chengyu, his pupils dilating slightly, and after a moment, said, “Got it.”
Feng Chengyu let go, but Qin Bao held onto him.
“If I don’t get it right on the first try, will you be very jealous?” He held Feng Chengyu’s fingers, continuing from what Feng Chengyu had said, “I’m not responsible for making you suffer.”
Thump, thump.
Someone’s heartbeat was pounding loudly.
“If I say yes…” Feng Chengyu smiled, “Then Xiao Bao will be in trouble.”
